Ziyarate Shohadaa-e-Karbala (a.s.)

Text and Translation

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكُمْ یَا اَوْلِیآئَ اللّٰهِ وَاَحِبَّائَهٗ

alssalamu `alaykum ya awliya'a allahi wa ahibba'ahu

Peace be upon you, O intimate friends of Allah and His beloved ones,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكُمْ یَا اَصْفِیَائَ اللّٰهِ اَوِدَّائَهٗ

alssalamu `alaykum ya asfiya'a allahi awidda'ahu

peace be upon you, O the elite of Allah, His loyal friends,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكُمْ یَا اَنْصَارَ دِیْنِ اللّٰهِ

alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara dini allahi

peace be upon you, O helpers of the religion of Allah,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكُمْ یَا اَنْصَارَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ

alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara rasuli allahi

peace be upon you, O helpers of the Messenger of Allah,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكُمْ یَا اَنْصَارَ اَمِیْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara amiri almu'minina

peace be upon you, O helpers of the Commander of the Faithful,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكُمْ یَا اَنْصَارَ فَاطِمَۃَ سَیِّدَۃِ نِسَائِ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ

alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara fatimata sayyidati nisa'i al`alamina

peace be upon you, O helpers of Fatimah, mistress of the women of the worlds,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكُمْ یَا اَنْصَارَ اَبِیْ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَسَنِ ابْنِ عَلِیٍّ الزَّكِیِّ النَّاصِحِ

alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara abi muhammadin alhasani bni `aliyyin alzzakiyyi alnnasihi

peace be upon you, O helpers of Abu Muhammad al-Hasan, son of `Ali, the pure, the sincere advisor,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكُمْ یَا اَنْصَارَ اَبِیْ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ

alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara abi `abdi allahi

peace be upon you, O helpers of Abu `Abdullah,

بِاَبِیْ اَنْتُمْ وَاُمِّیْ طِبْتُمْ

bi'abi antum wa ummi tibtum

may my father and mother be sacrificed for you – you were good,

وَطَابَتِ الْاَرْضُ الَّتِیْ فِیْهَا دُفِنْتُمْ

wa tabati al-ardu allati fiha dufintum

and good is the earth in which you are buried,

وَفُزْتُمْ فَوْزاً عَظِیْماً

wa fuztum fawzan `azimam

and you attained a great triumph.

فَیَا لَیْتَنِیْ كُنْتُ مَعَكُمْ فَاَفُوْزَ مَعَكُمْ۔

faya laytani kuntu ma`akum fa'afuza ma`akum

Would that I had been with you, so that I too would triumph with you!
