Shia Companion provides duas, ziyarats, prayer times, and related tools across mobile and web. This page explains what information we use, why we use it, and how to request deletion of any account-linked data.
What We Collect
Account Information
If you sign in, Firebase Authentication may store your email address, display name, and provider details so your account can be recognized.
Synced Favorites
Signed-in users can sync favorites. Those favorites may be stored in Firebase services tied to the account.
Diagnostics and Usage
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand product usage and improve reliability.
How We Use Data
- To provide prayer times, Qibla direction, favorites sync, and sign-in.
- To keep the app stable through crash and diagnostics reporting.
- To understand which features are used so we can improve content and usability.
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Authentication for account sign-in.
- Cloud Firestore and related Firebase storage services for synced favorites and app data.
- Firebase Hosting for the web app.
- Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for usage insights and reliability.
- Apple App Store and Google Play for app distribution and platform-managed purchases or downloads.
Your Choices
- You can deny or revoke location permission in your device or browser settings.
- You can use most religious content without creating an account.
- You can request account deletion through the web at https://shia-companion.web.app/delete-account.
- You can also open the app, go to Preferences, and tap Delete My Account when signed in.
Account deletion:
deleting your account removes the Shia Companion sign-in record and synced favorites tied to that account.
Some anonymous, aggregated analytics or crash data may remain if it can no longer be linked back to you.
Children's Privacy
Shia Companion is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly ask children to submit unnecessary personal information to access the app's religious content.
