Dua-e-Sabaah

Text and Translation

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اَللّٰہُمَّ یَا مَنْ دَلَعَ لِسَانَ الصَّبَاحِ بِنُطْقِ تَبَلُّجِہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA YAA MAN DALA-A’ LESAANAS SABAAHE BE-NUTQE TABALLOJEHI

O Allah! O He Who makes dawn express itself in the first appearance of light

وَسَرَّحَ قِطَعَ اللَّیْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ بِغَیَاہِیْبِ تَلَجْلُجِہٖ

WA SARRAJA QETA-A’L LAYLIL MUZLEME BE-GHAYAAHEEBE TALAJLOJEHI

drives off the dying night alongwith its gloomy, obscurities,

وَاَتْقَنَ صُنْعَ الْفَلَكِ الدَّوَّارِ فِیْ مَقَادِیْرِ تَبَرُّجِہٖ

WA ATQANA SUN-A’L FALAKID DAWWAARE FEE MAQAADEERE TABARROJEHI

established firmly the artistry of celestial rotation within its zodiacal bounds

وَشَعْشَعَ ضِیَآءَ الشَّمْسِ بِنُوْرِ تَاَجُّجِہٖ یَا مَنْ دَلَّ عَلٰی ذَاتِہٖ بِذَاتِہٖ

WA SHA’SHA-A’ ZEYAAA-ASH SHAMSE BENOORE TA-AJJOJEHI YAA MAN DALLA A’LAA ZAATEHI BE-ZAATEHI

and illuminated the shimmering splendor of the sun with its diffusing light. O He, Who brings forth His (own) being as a proof of His entity

وَتَنَزَّہَ عَنْ مُجَانَسَۃِ مَخْلُوْقَاتِہٖ وَجَلَّ عَنْ مُّلَائَمَۃِ كَیْفِیَّاتِہٖ

WA TANAZZAHA A’N MOJAANASATEHI MAKHLOOQAATEHI WA JALLA A’M MOLAA-AMATE KAYFIYYAATEHI

and is free from any likeness to the created beings, and. because of His singularities, is exalted beyond comparability.

یَا مَنْ قَرُبَ مِنْ خَطَرَاتِ الظُّنُوْنِ وَبَعُدَ عَنْ لَحَظَاتِ الْعُیُوْنِ

YAA MAN QAROBA MIN KHATARAATIZ ZONOONE WA BA-O’DA A’N LAHAZAATIL O’YOONE

O He Who is near to the con templative power of mind. Dut unperceivable to the faculty of seeing

وَعَلِمَ بِمَا كَانَ قَبْلَ اَنْ یَّكُوْنَ یَا مَنْ اَرْقَدَنِيْ فِيْ مِہَادِ اَمْنِہٖ

WA A’LEMA BEMAA KAANA QABLA AYN YAAKOONA YAA MAN ARQADANEE FEE MEHAADE AMNEHI

and knows in advance the course of events. O He Who put me at rest under His peaceful sanctuary arid blessed me with favours

وَاَمَانِہٖ وَاَیْقَظَنِيْ اِلٰی مَا مَنَحَنِی بِہٖ مِنْ مِنَنِہٖ وَاِحْسَانِہٖ

WA AMAANEHI WA AYQAZANEE ELAA MAA MANAHANEE BEHI MIN MENANEHI WA EHSAANEHI

and bounties when I got up; and with His power

وَكَفَّ اَكُفَّ السُّوْءِ عَنِّیْ بِیَدِہٖ وَسُلْطَانِہٖ

WA KAFFA AKUFFAS SOO-E A’NNEE BEYADEHI WA SULTAANEHI

and might cut short the evil hands, advancing towards me,

صَلِّ اللّٰہُمَّ عَلَیْ الدَّلِیْلِ اِلَیْكَ فِيْ اللَّیْلِ الْاَلْیَلِ

SALLIL LAAHUMMA A’LAD DALEELE ELAYKA FIL LAYLIL ALYAL

O Allah! Bless him, who, in the darkest hours of heathen obscurity,

وَالْمَاسِكِ مِنْ اَسْبَابِكَ بِحَبْلِ الشَّرَفِ الْاَطْوَلِ

WAL MAASEKE MIN ASBAABEKA BEHABLISH-SHARAFIL ATWALE

showed the right way, interwoven in the cord of the nobility of Thy far-reaching ropes,

وَالنَّاصِعِ الْحَسَبِ فِيْ ذَرْوَۃِ الكَاہِلِ الَاعْبَلِ

WAN NAASEHIL HASABE FEE ZARWATIL KAAHELIL A-A’BALE

descendant of healthy and perfectly

وَالثَّابِتِ الْقَدَمِ عَلٰی زَحَالِیْفِہَا فِی الزَّمَنِ الْاَوَّلِ

WAS SAABETIL QADAME A’LAA ZAHAALEEFEHAA FIZ ZAMANIL AWWAL

formed ancestors, steadfast in the early turbulent years.

وَعَلٰی آلِہِ الْاَخْیَارِ الْمُصْطَفِیْنَ الْاَبْرَارِ

WA A’LAA AALEHIL AKHYAARIL MUSTAFAYNIL ABRAAR.

And also bless his select, elite and pious descendents.

وَافْتَحِ اللّٰہْمَّ لَنَا مَصَارِیْعَ الصَّبَاحِ بِمَفَاتِیْحِ الرَّحْمَۃِ وَالْفَلَاحِ

WAF-TAHIL LAAHUMMA LANAA MASAAREE-A’S SABAAHE BEMAFAATEEHAR RAHMATE WAL-FALAAHE

O Allah! Make the daybreak bring mercy and welfare from Thee unto us.

وَالْبِسْمِ اللّٰہُمَّ مِنْ اَفْضَلِ خِلَعِ الْہِدَایَۃِ وَالصَّلَاحِ

WAL-BISMIL LAAHUMMA MIN AFZALE KHELA-I’L HEDAAYATE WAS-SALAAHE

O Allah! Make me ready for a life, full of goodness and true guidance.

وَاغْرِسِ اللّٰہُمَّ بِعَظْمَتِكَ فِيْ شِرْبِ جَنَانِيْ یَنَابِیْعَ الْخُشُوْعِ

WAGHRESIL LAAHUMMA BE-A’ZMATEKA FEE SHIRBE JANAANEE YANAABEE-A’L KHOSHOO-E’

O Allah! For the sake of Thy greatness, let me drink, to the full satisfaction of my heart, from the delightful spring of submissiveness.

وَاجْرِ اَللّٰہُمَّ لِہَیْبَتِكَ مِنْ اٰمَاقِیْ زَفَرَاتِ الدُّمُوْعِ

WAJRIL LAAHUMMA LEHAYBATEKA MIN AAMAAQEE ZAFARAATID DOMOO-E’

O Allah! Make my eyes weep in fear of Thy awe-inspiring majesty.

وَاَدِّبِ اللّٰہُمَّ نَزَقَ الْخُرْقِ مِنِّیْ بِاَزِمَّۃِ الْقُنُوْعِ

WA ADDEBIL LAAHUMMA NAZAQAL KHURQE MINNEE BE-AZIMMATIL QONOO-E’.

O Allah! Let me get rid of whimsical carelessness and misplaced harshness by exercising self-control.

اِلٰہِیْ اِنْ لَّمْ تَبْتَدِئْنِیْ الرَّحْمَۃُ مِنْكَ بِحُسْنِ التَّوْفِیْقِ

ELAAHI ILLAM TABTADEA-NIR RAHMATO MINKA BEHUSNIT TAWFEEQE

O Allah! If Thou does not mercifully and favourably raise my spirits,

فَمَنِ السَّالِكُ بِیْ اِلَیْكَ فِيْ وَاضِحِ الطَّرِیْقِ

FAMANIS SAALEKO BEE ELAYKA FEE WAAZEHIT TAREEQE

who will lead me to the evidently true path?

وَاِنْ اَسْلَمَتْنِيْ اَنَاتُكَ لِقَائِدِ الْاَمَلِ وَالْمُنٰی

WA IN ASLAMATNEE ANAATOKA LEQAAEDIL AMALE WAL MONAA

If Thy indulgence encourages me to run after the (vain) hopes and desires,

فَمَنِ الْمُقِیْلُ عَثَرَاتِيْ مِنْ كَبَوَاتِ الْہَوٰی

FAMANIL MOQEELO A’SARATEE MIN KABAWAATIL HAWAA

who will make me stand again on the ground after I tumble into the deep well of sinful passions?

وَاِنْ خَذَلَنِيْ نَصْرُكَ عِنْدَ مُحَارَبَۃِ النَّفْسِ وَالشَّیْطَانِ

WA IN KHAZALANEE NASROKA I’NDA MOHAARABATIN NAFSE WASH-SHAYTAANE

If Thou hold back Thy help, when my soul is in the tug-of-war with Shaitan,

فَقَدْ وَكَلَنِيْ خِذْلَانُكَ اِلٰی حَیْثُ النَّصَبِ وَالْحِرْمَانِ

FAQAD WAKALANEE KHIZLAANOKA ELAA HAYSUN NASABE WALHIRMAAN.

then certainly painful frustration is my fate.

اِلٰہِیْ اَتَرَانِیْ مَا اَتَیْتُكَ اِلَّا مِنْ حَیْثُ الْآمَالِ اَمْ عَلِقْتُ بِاَطْرَافِ حِبَالِكَ

ELAAHI A-TARAANEE MAA ATAYTOKA ILLAA MIN HAYSUL AAMAALE AM A’LIQTO BE-ATRAAFE HEBAALEKA

My Allah! If it is so that my selfish desires made me turn to Thee, or that I had to hold fast Thy cause,

اِلَّا حِیْنَ بَاعَدَتْنِیْ ذُنُوْبِیْ عَنْ دَارِ الْوِصَالِ فَبِئْسَ الْمَطِیَّۃُ

ILLAA HEENA BAA-A’DATNEE ZONOOBEE A’N DAARIL WESAALE FA-BEA-SAL MATIYYATUL

only after my sins had cut off the cord of Thy friendship, then (certainly) my heart and soul went with the evil current of vain desires.

الَّتِیْ امْتَطَتْ نَفْسِيْ مِنْ ہَوَاہَا فَوَاہًا لَہَا لِمَا سَوَّلَتْ لَہَا ظُنُوْنُہَا وَمُنَاہَا

LATIM TA-TAT NAFSEE MIN HAWAAHAA FAWAAHAN LAHAA LEMAA SAWWALAT LAHAA ZONOONOHAA WA MONAAHAA

Fie upon the fanciful and aimless drift of petty imagination, riding on suspicious and doubtful hopes!

وَتَبًّا لَہَا لِجُرْاَتِہَا عَلٰی سَیِّدِہَا وَمَوْلَاہَا اِلٰہِیْ قَرَعْتُ بَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ

WA TABBAN LAHAA LEJURATEHAA A’LAA SAYYEDEHAA WA MAWLAAHAA ELAAHI QARA’TO BAABA RAHMATEKA

A decisive blow and death to the insolent disrespectful-ness shown to the Lord and Master! My Allah! I hopefully knocked at the door of Thy mercy.

بِیَدِ رَجَآئِیْ وَہَرَبْتُ اِلَیْكَ لَاجِئًا مِنْ فَرْطِ اَہْوَائِیْ وَعَلَّقْتُ بِاَطْرَافِ

BEYADE RAJAAA-EE WA HARABTO ELAYKA LAAJEAN MIN FARTE AHWAA-EE WA A’LLIQTO BE-ATRAAFE

Running away from the in-tense pressures of mounting passions I had come to Thee to hold fast Thy cord,

حِبَالِكَ اَنَمِلَ وَلَائِيْ فَاصْفَحِ اللّٰہُمَّ عَمَّا كَانَ اَجْرَمْتُہٗ مِنْ زَلَلِیْ وَخَطَائِیْ

HEBAALEKA ANAMELA WALAAEE FAS-FAHIL LAAHUMMA A’MMAA KAANA AJRAMTOHU MIN ZALALEE WA KHATAA-EE

sincerely and affectionately. So O my Allah, forgive my sins of omission and commission and lift up

وَاَقِلْنِیْ مِنْ صَرْعَۃِ رِدَائِیْ فَاِنَكَ سَیِّدِیْ وَمَوْلَايَ وَمُعْتَمَدِیْ

WA AQILNEE MIN SAR-A’TE REDAA-EE FA-INNAKA SAYYEDEE WA MAWLAAYA WA MOA’TAMADEE

and carry me out of the disgraceful pit of wickedness, Thou art my Lord and Master, my trust

وَرَجَائِیْ وَغَایَۃَ مُنَايَ فِیْ مُنْقَلَبِیْ وَمَثْوَايَ

WA RAJAA-EE WA GHAAYATA MONAAYA FEE MUNQALABEE WA MASWAAYA.

and hope. Thou art the ultimate purpose of my search and desire whether in transit or at the destination.

اِلٰہِیْ كَیْفَ تَطْرُدُ مِسْكِیْنًا اِلْتَجَاَ اِلَیْكَ مِنَ الذُّنُوْبِ ہَارِبًا

ELAAHEE KAYFA TAT-RODO MISKEENAN ILTAJA-A ELAYKA MENAZ ZONOOBE HAAREBAN

My Allah! Will Thou turn out a destitute, who is running away from sinful life to take refuge under Thy protection?

اَمْ كَیْفَ تُخَیِّبُ مُسْتَرْشِدًا قَصَدَ اِلٰی جَنَابِكَ سَاعِیًا

AM KAYFA TOKAYYEBO MUSTARSHEDAN QASADA ELAA JANAABEKA SAA-E’YAN

Or will Thou disappoint him, who, in search of truth, has eagerly come to Thee?

اَمْ كَیْفَ تَرُدُّ ظَمْآنَ وَرَدَ اِلٰی حِیَاضِكَ شَارِبًا كَلَّا وَحِیَاضُكَ مُتْرَعَۃٌ

AM KAYFA TARUDDA ZAM-A’AANA WARADA ELAA HEYAAZEKA SHAAREBAA KALLAA WA HEYAAZOKA MUTRA-A’TUN

Or will Thou cut out Thy mainstream (of mercy) for a thirster, who is longing for a saturating fill? No! By no means. Thy reservoir is full to the brim,

فِيْ ضَنْكِ الْمَحُوْلِ وَبَابُكَ مَفْتُوْحٌ لِلطَّلَبِ وَالْوُغُوْلِ وَاَنْتَ غَایَۃَ الْمَسْئُوْلِ

FEE ZANKIL MAHOOLE WA BAABOKA MAFTOOHUN LITTALABE WAL-WAGHOOLE WA ANTA GHAAYATAL MAS-OOLE

overflowing. Thou has kept open Thy doorway (access) for the needy and the fugitive. Thou art the Ultimate reference for making requests,

وَنِہَایَۃَ الْمَامُوْلِ اِلٰہِیْ ہٰذِہٖ اَزِمَّۃُ نَفْسِیْ عَقَلْتُہَا بِعِقَالِ مَشِیَّتِكَ

WA NEHAAYATAL MAAMOOL. ELAAHEE HAAZEHI AZIMMATO NAFSEE A’QALTOHAA BE-E’QAALE MASHIYYATEKA

The last resort of beseechers. O Allah, my heart and soul are devotedly tied up with the wisdom of Thy will;

وَہٰذِہٖ اَعْبَآءُ ذُنُوْبِیْ دَرَاْتُہَا بِرَافَتِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ وَہٰذِہٖ اَہْوَائِیْ الْمُضِلَّۃُ

WA HAAZEHI A-A’BAAA-O ZONOOBEE DARAATOHAA BE-RAAFATEKA WA RAHMATEKA WA HAAZEHI AHWAA-IL MOZILLATO

and the weight of my sins has been taken off through forgiveness and mercy;

وَكَلْتُہَا اِلٰی جَنَابِ لُطْفِكَ وَرَافَتِكَ فَاجْعَلِ اللّٰہُمَّ صَبَاحِیْ ہٰذَا نَازِلًا

WAKALTOHAA ELAA JANAABE LUTFEKA WA RAAFATEKA FAJ-A’LIL LAAHUMMA SABAAHEE HAAZAA NAAZELAN

and I have done with my wayward desires on account of Thy kindness and compassion. So my Allah! Make this daybreak bring light of guidance,

عَلَیَّ بِضِیَآءِ الْہُدٰی وَالسَّلَامَۃِ فِيْ الدِّیْنِ وَالدُّنْیَا

A’LAYYA BE-ZEYAA-IL HODAA WAS SALAAMATE FID-DEENE WAD-DUNYAA

peace in this world, and salvation in the Hereafter, for me.

وَمَسَائِیْ جُنَّۃَ مِنْ كَیْدِ الْاَعْدَاءِ وَوِقَایَۃً مِنْ مُرْدِیَاتِ الْہَوٰی

WA MASAA-EE JUNNATA MIN KAYDIL A-A’DAA-E WA WEQAA-YATAN MIN MURDEYAATIL HAWAA

Let the night work as a shield against the decietful enemies, and keep me safe from the onslaught of my own vain desires.

اِنَكَ قَادِرٌ عَلٰی مَا تَشَآءُ تُؤْتِی الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَآءُ

INNAKA QAADERUN A’LAA MAA TASHAA-O TOA-TIL MULKA MAN TASHAAA-O

Verily, Thou does what Thou wills, gives sovereignty unto whom Thou wills,

وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ

WA TANZE-U’L MULKA MIMMAN TASHAAA-O WA TO-I’ZZO MAN TASHAAA-O WA TOZILLO MAN TASHAAA-O

and with-drawns sovereignty from whom Thou wills; Thou exalts whom Thou wills and humbles whom Thou wills.

بِیَدِكَ الْخَیْرُ اِنَّكَ عَلٰی كُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ تُوْلِجُ اللَّیْلَ فِیْ النَّہَارِ

BEYADEKAL KHAYRO INNAKA A’LAA KULLE SHAY-IN QADEER TOOLEJUL LAYLA FIN NAHAARE

In Thy hand is the good. Verily Thou art able to do all things. Thou causes the night to pass into the day,

وَتُوْلِجُ النَّہَارَ فِی اللَّیْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَیِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ المَیِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ

WA TOOLEJUN NAHAARA FIL LAYLE WA TUKHREJUL HAYYA MENAL MAYYETE WA TUKHREJUL MAYYETA MENAL HAYYE

and Thou causes the day to pass into the night, and Thou brings forth the living from the dead, and Thou brings forth the dead from the living,

وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَآءُ بِغَیْرِ حِسَابٍ لَآ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللّٰہُم

WA TARZOQO MAN TASHAAA-O BE-GHAYRE HESAAB LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA SUBHAANAKA ALLAAHUMMA

and Thou gives sustenance to whom Thou chooses, without measure. There is no god except Thou. Glory be to Thee O Allah

وَبِحَمْدِكَ مَنْ ذَا یَعْلَمُ قُدْرَتَكَ فَلَا یَخَافُكَ وَمَنْ ذَا یَعْلَمُ مَا آنْتَ

WA BEHAMDEKA MAN ZAA YA’LAMO QUDRATAKA FALAA YAKHAAFOKA WA MAN ZAA YA’LAMO MAA ANTA

and praise be to Thee! Who is aware of Thy power without fearing Thee? Who knows who Thou art without overawed by Thee?

فَلَا یَہَابُكَ اَلَّفْتَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ الْفِرَقَ وَفَلَقْتَ بِلُطْفِكَ الْفَلَقَ وَنَوَّرْتَ بِكَرَمِكَ

FALAA YAHAABOKA ALLAFTA BEQUDRATEKAL FERAQA WA FALAQTA BELUTFEKAL FALAQA WA NAWWARTA BEKARAMEKA

With Thy power Thou gathered around discord and strife; and mercifully caused the dawn to break forth, and generously illuminated the dark nights.

دَیَاجِيَّ الْغَسَقِ وَاَنْہَرْتَ الْمِیَاہَ مِنَ الصُّمِّ الصَّیَاخِیْدِ عَذْبًا وَّاُجَاجًا

DAYAAJIYYAL GHASAQE WA ANHARTAL MEYAAHA MENAS SUMMIS SAYAAKHEEDE A’ZBANW WA OJAAJANW

It is Thou Who brings forth sweet as well as sour springs of water from the heart of hard solid rocks, and makes clouds pour down heavy rains,

وَّاَنْزَلْتَ مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَآءً ثَجَّاجًا وَجَعَلْتَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لِلْبَرِیَّۃِ سِرَاجًا وَّہَّاجًا

WA ANZALTA MENAL MOA’SERAATE MAAA-AN SAJJAAJAN WA JA-A’LTASH SHAMSA WAL-QAMARA LILBARIYYATE SERAAJANW WAHHAAJAA

and appointed the luminous sun and the bright moon, like burning lamps, to fill the earth with brilliant light

مِنْ غَیْرِ اَنْ تُمَارِسَ فِیْمَا ابْتَدَاْتَ بِہٖ لُغُوْبًا وَّلَا عِلَاجًا فَیَا مَنْ تَوَحَّدَ بِالْعِزِّ وَالْبَقَآءِ

MIN GHAYRE AN TOMAARESA FEEMAB TADAATA BEHI LOGHOOBANW WA LAA E’LAAJAN FAYAA MAN TAWAHHADA BIL-I’ZZE WAL-BAQAAA-E

Whatever Thou did, Thou did without effort, or experiment. O He Who is unique in His glory and everlasting continuity;

وَقَہَرَ عِبَادَہٗ بِالْمَوْتِ وَالْفَنَآءِ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِہٖ الْاَتَقِیَآءِ

WA QAHARA E’BAADAHU BIL-MAWTE WAL-FANAAA-E SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALEHIL ATQEYAAA-E

and has total control over His creation through death and mortality; send blessings on Muhammad and on his pure and pious descendents,

وَاسْمَعْ نِدَآئِيْ وَاسْتَجِبْ دُعَآئِيْ وَاَہْلِكَ اَعْدَآئِيْ وَحَقِّقْ بِفَضْلِكَ آمَالِيْ

WAS-MA’ NEDAAA-EE WASTAJIB DO-A’AA-EE WA AHLIK A-A’DAA-EE WA HAQQIQ BE-FAZLEKA AAMAALEE

and listen to and accept my supplication, answer my call and kindly fulfil my desires

وَرَجَآئِيْ یَا خَیْرَ مَنْ دُعِیَ لِكَشْفِ الضُّرِّ وَالْمَامُوْلِ لِكُلِّ عُسْرٍ وَیُسْرٍ

WA RAJAA-EE YAA KHAYRA MAN DO-E’YA LE-KASHFIZ ZURRE WAL-MAAMOOLE LEKULLE U’SRIN WA YUSRIN

and expectations. O the Best of those who are invoked, for elimination of distress, fulfilment of hopes, and removal of all difficulties.

بِكَ اَنْزَلْتُ حَاجَتِیْ فَلَا تَرُدَّنِیْ مِنْ سَنِیِّ مَوَاہِبِكَ خَآئِبًا یَا كَرِیْمُ یَا كَرِیْمُ یَا كَرِیْمُ

BEKA ANZALTO HAAJATEE FALAA TARUDDANEE MIN SANIYYE MAWAAHEBEKA KHAAA-EBAN YAA KAREEMO YAA KAREEMO YAA KAREEMO

I put up my petition. So, do not send me away disappointed, with frustration of not getting Thy wonderful gifts. O Generous! O Generous! O Generous! So be it. Through Thy mercy,

بِرَحْمَتِكَ یَاآرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ وَصَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلٰی خَیْرِ خَلْقِہٖ مُحَمَّدٍ

BE-RAHMATEKA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEEN WA SALLAL LAAHO A’LAA KHAYRE KHALQEHI MOHAMMADIN

O the Most Merciful. Send Blessings on our Master and Prophet. Muhammad,

وَآلِہٖ اَجْمَعِیْنَ.

WA AALEHI AJMA-E’EN.

and his descendents, one and all.

Recite the following in Sajdah:

اِلٰہِیْ قَلْبِیْ مَحْجُوْبٌ وَّنَفْسِیْ مَعْیُوْبٌ وَّعَقْلِیْ مَغْلُوْبٌ وَّہَوَآئِیْ غَالِبٌ

ELAAHEE QALBEE MAHJOOBUNW WA NAFSEE MA’YOOBUNW WA AQLEE MAGHLOOBUNW WA HAWAAA-EE GHAALEBUNW

O Allah! I feel ashamed. I am confused. My conscience is guilty there is no end to desires,

وَّطَاعَتِیْ قَلِیْلٌ وَّمَعْصِیَتِیْ كَثِیْرٌ وَّلِسَانِیْ مُقِرٌّ بِالذُّنُوْبِ

WA TAA-A’TEE QALEELUNW WA MA’SEYATEE KASEERUNW WA LESAANEE MOQIRRUN BIZ-ZONOOBE

(but) obedience is missing; and sins are many. I humbly confess my misconduct, and admit my drawbacks.

فَكَیْفَ حِیْلَتِیْ یَا سَتَّارَا الْعُیُوْبِ وَیَا عَلَّامَ الْغُیُوْبِ وَیَا كَاشِفَ الْكُرُوْبِ

FAKAYFA HEELATEE YAA SATTAARAL O’OYOOBE WA YAA A’LLAAMAL GHOYOOBE WA YAA KAASHEFAL KOROOBE

So there is no excuse, O Knower of the Unseen. O Concealer of errors,

اِغْفِرْ ذُنُوْبِیْ كُلَّہَا بِحُرْمَۃِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

IGHFIR ZONOOBEE KULLAHAA BEHURMATE MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

O Forgiver of sins, forgive my sins. O Forgiver, protect me. O Protector for the sake of Muhammad and his pure progeny,

یَا غَفَّارُ یَا غَفَّارُ یَا غَفَّارُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ.

YAA GHAFFAARO YAA GHAFFAARO YAA GHAFFAARO BERAHMATEKA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEEN.

through Thy mercy, O the Most Merciful.
