Dua e Ahad

Text and Translation

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ النُّوْرِ الْعَظِيْمِ وَرَبَّ الْكُرْسِىِّ الرَّفِيْعِ

ALLAAHUMMA RABBAN NOORIL A’ZEEM WA RABBAL KURSIYYIR RAFEE-E’

O Allah! Lord of the Great Light, Lord of the Elevated Throne,

وَرَبَّ الْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُوْرِ وَمُنْزِلَ التَّوْرٰيةِ وَالْاِنْجِيْلِ وَالزَّبُوْرِ

WA RABBAL BAHRIL MASJOORE WA MUNZELAT TAWRAATE WAL INJEELE WAZ ZABOORE

Lord of the tumultuous seas, and the revealer of the Tawrah, Injeel, and Zaboor,

وَرَبَّ الظِّلِّ وَالْحَرُوْرِ وَمُنْزِلَ الْقُرْاٰنِ الْعَظِيْمِ

WA RABBAZ ZILLE WAL HAROORE WA MUNZELAL QUR-AANIL A’ZEEME

Lord of the shadows and the warmth’s, And the revealer of the Great Quran.

وَرَبَّ الْمَلٰٓئِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ وَالْاَنْبِيَآءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِيْنَ

WA RABBAL MALAAA-EKATIL MOQARRABEENA WAL AMBEYAAA-E WAL MURSALEENA

Lord of the proximate angels and prophets and messengers.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيْمِ وَبِنُوْرِ وَجْهِكَ الْمُنِيْرِ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-WAJHEKAL KAREEME WA BE-NOORE WAJHEKAL MONEERE

O Allah! I beseech thee, for the sake of Your Nobel Visage. And for the sake of Your Enlightening Visage,

وَبِمُلْكِكَ الْقَدِيْمِ يَا حَىُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ اَسْئَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِىْ

WA MULKEKAL QADEEME YAA HAYYO YAA QAYYOOMO AS-ALOKA BISMEKAL LAZEE

and Your ever existing kingdom. O Ever Living! O Controller! I beseech Thee in Your Name

اَشْرَقَتْ بِهٖ السَّمٰوَاتُ وَالْاَرْضُوْنَ

ASHRAQAT BEHIS SAMAAWAATO WAL ARAZOONA

which lits the heavens and the earths;

وَبِاسْمِكَ الَّذِىْ يَصْلَحُ بِهٖ الْاَوَّلُوْنَ وَالْآخِرُوْنَ

WA BISMEKAL LAZEE YASLAHO BEHIL AWWALOONA WAL AAKHEROONA

and in Your Name, by which the ancient and the latter ones become upright.

يَا حَيًّا قَبْلَ كُلِّ حَىٍّ وَيَا حَيًّا بَعْدَ كُلِّ حَىٍّ

YAA HAYYAN QABLA KULLE HAYYIN WA YAA HAYYAN BA’-DA KULLE HA’YYIN

O Ever living who has before every living being. O Ever Living Who shall (exist) after every living being.

وَيَا حَيًّا حِيْنَ لاَ حَىَّ يَا مُحْيِىَ الْمَوْتٰى وَمُمِيْتَ الْاَحْيَآءِ يَا حَىُّ لاَ اِلٰهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ

WA YAA HAYYAN HEENA LAA HAYYA YAA MOHYEYAL MAWTAA WA MOMEETAL AHYAAA-E YAA HAYYO LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA

O Ever Living Who existed when there was no life. O Giver of life to dead. O One Who causes death to the living one. O Ever Living. There is no god except Thou.

اَللّٰهُمَّ بَلِّغْ مَوْلاَنَا الْاِمَامَ الْهَادِىَ الْمَهْدِىَّ الْقَآئِمَ بِاَمْرِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA BALLIGH MAWLAANA EMAAMAL HAADEYAL MAHDIYYAL QAAA-EMA BE-AMREKA

O Allah! Send our master the leader, the guide, the guided, the upriser with Your command.

صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلٰى اٰبَآئِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ

SALAWAATULLAAHE A’LAYHE WA A’LAA AABAAA-EHIT TAAHEREEN

Blessings of Allah be on him and his pure forefathers

عَنْ جَمِيْعِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ فِىْ مَشَارِقِ الْاَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبِهَا

A’N JAMEEL-I’L MOMINEENA WAL MOMINAATE FEE MASHAAREQIL ARZE WA MAGHAAREBEHAA

from all the believing men and believing women. In the easts of the earth and it’s wests,

سَهْلِهَا وَجَبَلِهَا وَبَرِّهَا وَبَحْرِهَا وَعَنِّىْ وَعَنْ وَالِدَىَّ مِنَ الصَّلَوَاتِ

SAHLEHAA WA JABALEHAA WA BARREHAA WA BAHREHAA WA A’NNEE WA A’N WAALEDAYYA MENAS SALAWAATE

in its plains and its mountains, its lands and its seas, from me and my parents. Blessings,

زِنَةَ عَرْشِ اللهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهٖ وَمَا اَحْصَاهُ عِلْمُهٗ وَاَحَاطَ بِهٖ كِتَابُهٗ

ZENATA A’RSHILLAAHE WA MEDAADA KALEMAATEHI WA MAA AHSAAHO I’LMOHU WA AHAATA BEHI KETAABOHU

which are the weight of Allah’s throne and ink of His words, and whatever His knowledge enumerates and His book encompasses.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اُجَدِّدُ لَهٗ فِىْ صَبِيْحَةِ يَوْمِىْ هٰذَا وَمَا عِشْتُ مِنْ اَيَّامِىْ عَهْدً ا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE OJADDEDO LAHU FEE SABEEHATE YAWMEE HAAZAA WA MAA I’SHTO MIN AYYAAMEE A’HDAN

O Allah! Renew for him my covenant, pledge

وَعَقْدًا وَبَيْعَةً لَهٗ فِىْ عُنُقِىْ لاَ اَحُوْلُ عَنْهَا وَلاَ اَزُوْلُ اَبَدًا

WA A’QDAN WA BAY-A’TAN LAHU FEE O’NOQEE LAA AHULO A’NHAA WA LAA AZOOLO ABADAN

and allegiance on my neck in the morning of this day of mine and whatever days (of my life) I live. I shall never turn away from it nor let it ever vanish.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِىْ مِنْ اَنْصَارِهٖ وَاَعْوَانِهٖ وَالذَّابِّيْنَ عَنْهُ

ALLAAHUMMAJ-A’LNEE MIN ANSAAREHI WA AA’-WAANEHI WAZ-ZAAAB-BEENA A’NHO

O Allah! Appoint me among his helpers, aides, and his protectors.

وَالْمُسَارِعِيْنَ اِلَيْهِ فِىْ قَضَآءِ حَوَآئِجِهٖ وَالْمُمْتَثِلِيْنَ لِاَوَامِرِهٖ

WAL MOSAARE-E’ENA ELAYHE FEE QAZAAA-E HAWAA-EJEHEE WAL MUMTASLEENA LE-AWAAMEREHI

Those who hasten to fulfill his commands and obey his orders.

وَالْمُحَامِيْنَ عَنْهُ وَالسَّابِقِيْنَ اِلٰى اِرَادَتِهٖ وَالْمُسْتَشْهَدِيْنَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

WAL MOHAAMMEENA A’NHO WAS SAABEQEENA ELAA ERAADATEHI WAL MUSTASH-HADEENA BAYNA YADAYHE

Those who are his supporters and compete with each other to (fulfill) his intention and seek martyrdom in his presence.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنْ حَالَ بَيْنِىْ وَبَيْنَهُ الْمَوْتُ الَّذِىْ جَعَلْتَهٗ عَلٰى عِبَادِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA IN HAALA BAYNEE WA BAYNAHUL MAWTUL LAZEE JA-A’LTAHU A’LAA E’BAADEKA

O Allah! If death occurs between me and him (before the reappearance) (death) which you have made obligatory and decreed for your servants,

حَتْمًا مَّقْضِيًّا فَاَخْرِجْنِىْ مِنْ قِبْرِىْ مُؤْتَزِرًا كَفَنِىْ شَاهِرًا سَيْفِىْ

HATMAN MAQZIYYAN FA-AKHRIJNEE MIN QABREE MOA-TAZERAN KAFANEE SHAAHERAN SAYFEE

then raise me from my grave, wrapped in my shroud, my sword unsheathed,

مُجَرِّدًا قَنَاتِىْ مُلَبِّيًا دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِىْ فِى الْحَاضِرِ وَالْبَادِىْ

MOJARREDAN QANAATEE MOLABBEYAN DAA’-WATAD DAA-E’E FIL HAAZERE WAL BAADEE

my spear bared, answering the call of the caller in cities as well as deserts.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَرِنِى الطَّلْعَةَ الرَّشيْدَةَ وَالْغُرَّةَ الْحَمِيْدَةَ

ALLAAHUMMA ARENIT TAL-A’TAR RASHEEDATA WAL GHURRATAL HAMEEDATA

O Allah! Show me the rightly guided face of (Imam a.s.), the praiseworthy moon (referring to the face of Imam a.s.)

وَاكْحُلْ نَاظِرِىْ بِنَظْرَةٍ مِّنِّىْ اِلَيْهِ وَعَجِّلْ فرَجَهٗ

WAK-HUL NAAZEREE BE-NAZRATIN MINNEE ELAYHE WA A’JJIL FARAJAHU

and enlighten my vision by looking at him. And hasten his reappearance, make his arrival smooth,

وَسَهِّلْ مَخْرَجَهٗ وَ اَوْسِعْ مَنْهَجَهٗ وَاسْلُكْ بِىْ مَحَجَّتَهٗ

WA SAHHIL MAKHRAJAHU WA AWSEA’-MANHAJAHU WASLUK BEE MAHAJJATAHU
