Ziyarate Janabe Zainab (a.s.)

Text and Translation

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ یَا بِنْتَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta rasuli allahi

Peace be upon you, O daughter of the Messenger of Allah,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ یَا بِنْتَ نَبِیِّ اللّٰهِ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta nabiyyi allahi

peace be upon you, O daughter of the Prophet of Allah,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ یَا بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُصْطَفیٰ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta muhammadin almustafa

peace be upon you, O daughter of Muhammad al-Mustafa,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ یَا بِنْتَ وَلِیِّ اللّٰهِ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta waliyyi allahi

peace be upon you, O daughter of the intimate friend of Allah,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ یَا بِنْتَ عَلِیٍّ الْمُرْتَضیٰ سَیِّدِ الْاَوْصِیَائِ وَالصِّدِّیِقِیْنَ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta `aliyyin almurtada sayyidi al-awsiya'i walssiddiqina

peace be upon you, O daughter of `Ali al-Murtada, master of the successors and the truthful,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ یَا بِنْتَ فَاطِمََۃَ الزَّهْرَائِ سَیِّدَۃِ نِسَائِ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta fatimata alzzahra'i sayyidati nisa'i al`alamina

peace be upon you, O daughter of Fatimah al-Zahra', mistress of the women of the worlds,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ یَا اُخْتَ الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَیْنِ سَیِّدَیْ شَبَابِ اَهْلِ الْجَنَّۃِ اَجْمَعِیْنَ

alssalamu `alayki ya ukhta alhasani walhusayni sayyiday shababi ahli aljannati ajma`ina

peace be upon you, O sister of al-Hasan and al-Husain, the two masters of the youth of Paradise, all of them,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتُهَا السَّیِّدَۃُ الزَّكِیَّۃُ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha alssayyidatu alzzakiyyatu

peace be upon you, O the pure lady,

اَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ اَیَّتُهَا الدَّاعِیَۃُ الْخَفِیِّۃُ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha aldda`iyatu alkhafiyyatu

peace be upon you, O the hidden caller (to the truth),

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتُهَا التَّقِیَّۃُ النَّقِیَّۃُ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha alttaqiyyatu alnnaqiyyatu

peace be upon you, O the pious, the pure,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتُهَا الرَّاضِیَۃُ الْمَرْضِیَّۃُ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha alrradiyatu almardiyyatu

peace be upon you, O the content one, well-pleasing to her Lord,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتُهَا الْعَالِمَۃُ الْغَیْرُ الْمُعَلَّمَۃِ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha al`alimatu alghayru almu`allamati

peace be upon you, O the learned one who was not taught by any human,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتُهَا الْفَهِیْمَۃُ الْغَیْرُ الْمُفَهَّمَۃِ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha alfahimatu alghayru almufahhamati

peace be upon you, O the discerning one who was not instructed by any human,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتُهَا الْمَظْلُوْمَۃُ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha almazlumatu

peace be upon you, O the wronged one,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتُهَا الْمَغْمُوْمَۃُ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha almaghmumatu

peace be upon you, O the grief-stricken one,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتُهَا الصِّدِّیْقَۃُ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha alssiddiqatu

peace be upon you, O the truthful one,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتُهَا الْمَكْرُوْبَۃُ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha almakrubatu

peace be upon you, O the sorrow-laden one,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ اَیَّتُهَا الْمَاسُوْرَۃُ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha almasuratu

peace be upon you, O the captive one,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكِ اَیَّتَهَا الصَّاحِبَۃُ الْمُصِیْبَۃِ الْعُظْمیٰ

alssalamu `alayki ayyatuha alssahibatu almusibati al`uzma

peace be upon you, O bearer of the greatest calamity,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ یَا زَیْنَبُ الْكُبْریٰ

alssalamu `alayki ya zaynabu alkubra

peace be upon you, O Zainab the Great,

وَرَحْمَۃُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهٗ

wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu

and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
