Ziyarate Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.)

Text and Translation

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ یَا اَمَامَ الْوَریٰ

alssalamu `alayka ya imama alwara

Peace be upon you, O Imam of mankind,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ اَیُّهَا الْعُرْوَۃُ الْوُثْقیٰ

alssalamu `alayka ayyuha al`urwatu alwuthqa

peace be upon you, O the firmest handhold,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ یَا حَبْلَ اللّٰهِ الْمَتِیْنِ

alssalamu `alayka ya habla allahi almatini

peace be upon you, O the strong rope of Allah,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ یَانُوْرَهُ الْمُبِیْنِ

alssalamu `alayka ya nurahu almubina

peace be upon you, O His manifest light,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ اَیُّهَا الصَّادِقُ جَعْفَرُ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ

alssalamu `alayka ayyuha alssadiqu ja`faru bnu muhammadin

peace be upon you, O the truthful, Ja`far the son of Muhammad,

خَازِنُ الْعِلْمِ الدَّاعِیْ اِلَی اللّٰهِ بِالْحَقِّ

khazinu al`ilmi alddda`i ila allahi bilhaqqi

the keeper of knowledge, the one who calls to Allah with truth.

اَللّٰهُمَّ كَمَا جَعَلْتَهٗ مَعْدِنَ كَلاَمِكَ وَوَحْیِكَ

allahumma kama ja`altahu ma`dina kalamika wa wahyika

O Allah, just as You made him the source of Your speech and Your revelation,

وَخَازِنَ عَلْمِكَ وَلِسَانَ تَوْحِیْدِكَ

wa khazina `ilmika wa lisana tawhidika

and the keeper of Your knowledge and the tongue of Your Oneness,

وَوَلِیَّ اَمْرِكَ وَمُسْتَحْفِظَ دِیْنِكَ

wa waliyya amrika wa mustahfiza dinika

and the authority over Your command and the safeguarder of Your religion,

فَصَلِّ عَلَیْهِ اَفْضَلَ مَا صَلَّیْتَ عَلیٰ اَحَدٍ مِنْ

fasalli `alayhi afdala ma sallayta `ala ahadin

so send blessings upon him – the best of what You have sent upon anyone

َوْصِیَائِكَ وَحُجَجِكَ

min awsiya'ika wa hujajika

of Your successors and Your arguments –

اِنَّكَ حَمِیْدٌ مَجِیْدٌ۔

innaka hamidun majidun

indeed You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.
