Ziyarate Imam Ali Raza (a.s.)

Text and Translation

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ اَیُّهَا الصِّدِیْقُ الشَّهِیْدُ

alssalamu `alayka ayyuha alssiddiqu alshshahidu

Peace be upon you, O the truthful, the martyr,

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ اَیُّهَا الْوَصِیُّ الْبَآرُّ التَّقِیُّ

alssalamu `alayka ayyuha alwasiyyu albarru alttaqiyyu

peace be upon you, O the successor, the dutiful, the pious,

اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ قَدْ اَقَمْتَ الصَّلوٰۃَ

ashhadu annaka qad aqamta alssalata

I bear witness that you established the prayer,

وَاَتَیْتَ الزَّكوٰۃَ

wa atayta alzzakata

and paid the poor-rate,

وَاَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ

wa amarta bilma`rufi

and enjoined what is right,

وَنَهَیْتَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ

wa nahayta `ani almunkari

and forbade what is wrong,

وَعَبَدْتَ اللّٰهَ حَتیّٰ اَتَاكَ الْیَقِیْنُ

wa `abadta allaha hatta ataka alyaqinu

and worshipped Allah until certainty (death) came to you.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَیْكَ یَا اَبَا الْحَسَنِ

alssalamu `alayka ya aba alhasani

Peace be upon you, O Abu al-Hasan,

وَرَحْمَۃُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهٗ

wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu

and Allah’s mercy and blessings.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلیٰ عَلِیِّ ابْنِ مُوْسَی الرِّضَا الْمُرْتَضیٰ

allahumma salli `ala `aliyyi bni musa alrrida almurtada

O Allah, send blessings upon `Ali the son of Musa al-Rida, the well-pleasing,

عَبْدِكَ وَوَلِیِّ دِیْنِكَ الْقَائِمِ بِعَدْلِكَ

`abdika wa waliyyi dinika alqa'imi bi`adlika

Your servant and the guardian of Your religion, the upholder of Your justice,

وَالدَّاعِیْ اِلیٰ دِیْنِكَ وَدِیْنِ اٰبَائِهِ الصَّادِقِیْنَ

walddda`i ila dinika wa dini aba'ihi alssadiqina

and the caller to Your religion and the religion of his truthful forefathers,

صَلوٰۃً لاَ یَقْویٰ عَلٰی اِحْصَائِهَا غَیْرُكَ

salatan la yaqwa `ala ihsa'iha ghayruka

with blessings that none but You can number.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلیٰ عَلِیِّ ابْنِ مُوْسَی الرِّضَا الْمُرْتَضَی

allahumma salli `ala `aliyyi bni musa alrrida almurtada

O Allah, send blessings upon `Ali the son of Musa al-Rida, the well-pleasing,

الْاِمَامِ التَّقِیِّ النَّقِیِّ

al-imami alttaqiyyi alnnaqiyyi

the Imam, the pious, the pure,

وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلیٰ مَنْ فَوْقَ الْاَرْضِ وَمَنْ تَحْتَ الثَّریٰ

wa hujjatika `ala man fawqa al-ardi wa man tahta alththara

and Your Argument over whoever is above the earth and whoever is beneath the soil,

اَلصِّدِّیْقِ الشَّهِیْدِ

alssiddiqi alshshahidi

the truthful, the martyr,

صَلَوَاۃً كَثِیْرَۃً نَامِیَۃً زَاكِیَۃً مُتَوَاصِلَۃً مُتَوَاتِرَۃً مُتَوَافِرَۃً

salawatan kathiratan namiyatan zakiyatan mutawasilatan mutawatiratan mutawafiratan

with abundant, ever-growing, pure, continuous, uninterrupted, plentiful blessings,

كَاَفْضَلِ مَا صَلَّیْتَ عَلیٰ اَحَدٍ مِنْ اَوْلِیَائِكَ۔

ka'afdali ma sallayta `ala ahadin min awliya'ika

the best of what You have sent upon any of Your intimate friends.
