Ziyarat Rabi al-Anam

Permission to enter the Cellar

Allamah Majlisi (a.r.) writes: I have found in an old copy of the books of our scholars the following text:

Seeking permission to enter the holy cellar of the Imams (a.s.)

اَللّهُمَّ اِنَّ هٰذِهِ بُقْعَةٌ طَهَّرْتَهَا وَعَقْوَةٌ شَرَّفْتَهَا

Allahumma inna hadhihi buq‘atun tahharta-ha wa ‘aqwatun sharrafta-ha

O Allah, this is a land You have purified and a place You have honored

وَمَعَالِمُ زَكَّيْتَهَا، حَيْثُ أَظْهَرْتَ فِيْهَا اَدِلَّةَ التَّوْحِيْدِ

wa ma‘alimu zakkayta-ha, haythu azharta fi-ha adillata at-tawhid

And landmarks You have sanctified, where You showed signs of unity

وَاَشْبَاحَ الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيْدِ، الَّذِيْنَ اصْطَفَيْتَهُمْ مُلُوكاً لِحِفْظِ النِّظَامِ

wa ashbaha al-‘arshi al-majid, alladhina istafaytahum mulukan li-hifzi an-nizam

And the spirits of the glorious Throne, whom You chose as kings to preserve order

وَاخْتَرْتَهُمْ رُؤَسَاءَ لِجَمِيْعِ الْأَنَامِ، وَبَعَثْتَهُمْ لِقِيَامِ الْقِسْطِ

wa ikhtartahum ru’asa’a li-jami‘i al-anam, wa ba‘aththahum li-qiyami al-qist

You chose them as leaders for all people, and sent them to establish justice

فِىْ البْتِدَاءِ الْوُجُودِ الىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

fi al-ibtida’i al-wujud ila yawmi al-qiyamah

From the beginning of existence until the Day of Resurrection

ثُمَّ مَنَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِاسْتِنَابَةِ أنْبِيَائِكَ لِحِفْظِ شَرَائِعِكَ

thumma mananta ‘alayhim bi-istinabati anbiya’ika li-hifzi shara‘i-ka

Then You favored them by appointing Your prophets to preserve Your laws

وَأحْكَامِكَ، فَأكْمَلْتة بِاسْتِخْتِلَافِهِمْ رِسَالَةَ الْمُنذِرِيْنَ

wa ahkamika, fa-akmaltahu bi-ikhtilafihim risalata al-mundhirin

And Your rules, and completed it with the succession of warners’ message

كَمَا اَوْجَبْتَ رِيَاسَتَهُمْ فِىْ فَطْرِ الْمُكَلَّفِيْنَ

kama awjabta riyasatahum fi fatri al-mukallafin

As You made their leadership obligatory for those responsible

فَسُبْحَانَكَ مِنْ اِلٰهٍ مَا اَرْءَفَكَ، وَلاَ الٰهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ

fa-subhanaka min ilahin ma ar’afaka, wa la ilaha illa anta

Glory be to You, O God, how compassionate You are! There is no god but You

مِنْ مَلَكٍ مَا اَعْدَلَكَ، حَيْثُ طَابَقَ صُنْعُكَ مَا فَطَرْتَ عَلَيْهِ الْعُقُولَ

min malikin ma a‘dalaka, haythu tabaqa sun‘uka ma fatarta ‘alayhi al-‘uqul

How just You are as King, as Your creation matches what You instilled in minds

وَوَافَقَ حُكْمُكَ مَا قَرَّرْتَهُ فِىْ الْمَعْقُولِ وَالْمَنْقُولِ

wa wafiqa hukmuka ma qarartahu fi al-ma‘qul wa al-manqul

And Your judgment agrees with what You established in reason and tradition

فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلىٰ تَقْدِيْرِكَ الْحَسَنِ الْجَمِيْلِ

fa-laka al-hamdu ‘ala taqdirika al-hasan al-jamil

So praise be to You for Your good and beautiful decree

وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ عَلىٰ قَضَائِكَ الْمُعَلَّلِ بِأَكْمَلِ التَّعْلِيْلِ

wa laka ash-shukru ‘ala qada’ika al-mu‘allal bi-akmali at-ta‘lil

And thanks be to You for Your judgment, explained with perfect reasoning

فَسُبْحَانَ مَنْ لاَ يُسْئَلُ عَنْ فِعْلِهِ وَلايُنازَعُ فِىْ أمْرِهِ

fa-subhana man la yus’alu ‘an fi‘lihi wa la yunaza‘u fi amrihi

Glory be to Him who is not questioned about His actions, nor opposed in His command

وَسُبْحَانَ مَنْ كَتَبَ عَلىٰ نَفْسِهِ الرَّحْمَةَ قَبْلَ ابْتِدَاءِ خَلْقِهِ

wa subhana man kataba ‘ala nafsihi ar-rahmata qabla ibtida’i khalqihi

And glory be to Him who wrote mercy upon Himself before creation began

وَالْحَمْدُ ِللهِ الَّذِىْ مَنَّ عَلَيْنَا بِحُكَّامٍ يَقُومُونَ مَقَامَهُ

wa al-hamdu lillahi alladhi manna ‘alayna bi-hukkamin yaqumun maqamahu

And praise be to Allah who favored us with rulers who stand in His place

لَوْ كَانَ حَاضِراً فِىْ الْمَكَانِ، وَلاَ اِلٰهَ اللهُ الَّذِىْ شَرَّفْنَا

law kana hadiran fi al-makan, wa la ilaha Allahu alladhi sharrafna

If He were present in the place, and there is no god but Allah who honored us

بِأَوْصِيَاءَ يَحْفَظُونَ الشَّرَائِعَ فِىْ كُلِّ الْأزْمَانِ

bi-awsiya’a yahfazuna ash-shara’i‘a fi kulli al-azman

With guardians who preserve the laws in all times

وَاللهُ اَكْبَرُ الَّذِىْ أظْهَرَ هُمْ لَنَا بِمُعْجِزَاتٍ

wa Allahu akbaru alladhi azhara hum lana bi-mu‘jizat

And Allah is the Greatest, who revealed them to us with miracles

يَعْجِزُ عَنْهَا الثَّقَلَانِ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ الاّ بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْمِ

ya‘jizu ‘anha ath-thaqalan, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi al-‘aliyyi al-‘azim

That both humans and jinn are unable to match, and there is no power or strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great

الَّذِىْ أجرَانَا عَلىٰ عَوَائِدِهِ الْجَمِيْلَةِ فِىْ الْأُمَمِ السَّالفِيْنَ

alladhi ajrana ‘ala ‘awa’idihi al-jamilati fi al-umami as-salifin

He who has carried us upon His beautiful customs among the past nations

اَللَّهُمَّ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَالثَّنَاءُ الْعَلِيُّ، كَمَا وَجَبَ لِوَجْهِكَ

Allahumma falaka al-hamdu wa ath-thana’u al-‘aliyyu, kama wajaba li-wajhika

O Allah, for You is the praise and lofty glorification, as is due to Your eternal face

الْبَقَاءُ السَّرْمَدِيِّ، وَكَمَا جَعَلْتَ نَبِيِّنَا خَيْرَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ

al-baqa’u as-sarmadi, wa kama ja‘alta nabiyyana khayra an-nabiyyin

The everlasting permanence, and as You made our Prophet the best of prophets

وَمُلُوكَنَا أَفْضَلَ الْمخْلُوقِيْنَ، وَاخْتَرْتَهُمْ عَلىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى الْعٰلَمِيْنَ

wa mulukana afdhal al-makhluqin, wa ikhtartahum ‘ala ‘ilmin ‘ala al-‘alamin

And our kings the best of creation, and chose them with knowledge above all the worlds

وَفِّقْنَا لِلسَّعْيِ الىٰ أبْوَابِهِمُ الْعَامِرَةِ اِلى يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ

wa waffiqna li-as-sa‘yi ila abwabihim al-‘amira ila yawmi ad-din

And grant us success to strive towards their prosperous doors until the Day of Judgment

وَاجْعَلْ أرْوَاحَنَا تَحِنُّ الىٰ مَوْطِنِ أقْدَامِهِمْ

wa aj‘al arwahana tahinnu ila mawteni aqdamihim

And make our souls yearn for the place of their feet

وَنُفُوسَنَا تَهْوَى النَّظَرَ الىٰ مَجَالِسِهِمْ وَعَرَصَاتِهِمْ

wa nufusana tahwa an-nazara ila majalisihim wa ‘arasatihim

And our hearts long to look at their gatherings and courtyards

حَتّٰى كَأْنَّنَا نُخَاطِبُهُمْ فِىْ حُضُوْرِ أشخَاصِهِمْ

hatta ka’annana nukhatibuhum fi huduri ashkhasihim

Until it is as if we are addressing them in their presence

فَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَهِمْ مِنْ سَادَةٍ غَائِبِيْنَ، وَمِنْ سُلَالَةٍ طَاهِرِيْنَ

fa-salla Allahu ‘alayhim min sadatin gha’ibin, wa min sulalatin tahirin

So may Allah send blessings upon them, noble ones who are absent, and from a pure lineage

وَمِنْ أئِمَّةٍ مَعْصُومِيْنَ

wa min a’immatin ma‘sumīn

And from infallible leaders

اَللَّهُمَّ فَأْذَنْ لَنَا بِدُخُولِ هٰذِهِ الْعَرَصَاتِ

Allahumma fa’zan lana bi-dukhuli hadhihi al-‘arasat

O Allah, permit us to enter these courtyards

الَّتِيْ اسْتَعْبَدْتَ بِزِيَارَتِهَا أهْلَ الْأرَضِيْنَ وَالسَّمٰوَاتِ

allati ista‘badta bi-ziyaratiha ahla al-ardina wa as-samawat

Which You made the people of the earth and heavens worship by visiting

وَأَرْسِلْ دُمُوعَنَا بِخُشُوعِ الْمَهَابَةِ

wa arsil dumu‘ana bi-khushu‘i al-mahabah

And send our tears with the humility of awe

وذَلِّلْ جَوَارِحَنَا بِذُلِّ الْعُبُودِيَّةِ، وَفَرْضِ الطَّاعَةِ

wa dhallil jawarihina bi-dhulli al-‘ubudiyyah, wa fardi at-ta‘ah

And subdue our limbs with the humility of servitude and the obligation of obedience

حَتّٰى نُقِرَّ بِمَا يَجِبُ لَهُمْ مِنَ الْأعْرَافِ

hatta nuqirra bima yajibu lahum min al-a‘raf

Until we acknowledge what is due to them of rights

وَالْحَمْدُ ِللهِ، وَسَلَامٌ عَلىٰ عِبَادِهِ الَّذِيْنَ اصْطَفٰى

wa al-hamdu lillah, wa salamun ‘ala ‘ibadihi alladhina istafa

And praise be to Allah, and peace upon His chosen servants

مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ

Muhammad wa alihi at-tahirin

Muhammad and his pure family

اِلٰهِىْ اِنِّىْ وَقَفْتُ عَلىٰ بَابِ بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

Ilahi inni waqaftu ‘ala babi baytin min buyuti nabiyyika Muhammad, salawatuka ‘alayhi wa alihi

O my God, I have stood at the door of a house from the houses of Your Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family

وَقَدْ مَنَعْتَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الدُّخُوْلِ الىٰ بُيُوتِهِ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِنهِ

wa qad mana‘ta an-nasa min ad-dukhuli ila buyutihi illa bi-idhnihi

And You have prevented people from entering his houses except with his permission

فَقُلْتَ: ’يَا اَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ آمَنُوا لاَ تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتَ النَّبِيِّ اِلاَّ أنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ‘

fa-qulta: "Ya ayyuhalladhina amanu la tadkhulu buyutan-nabiyyi illa an yu’dhana lakum"

So You said: "O you who believe! Do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you."

اَللَّهُمَّ وَانِىْ أعْتَقِدُ حُرْمَةَ نَبِيِّكَ فِىْ غَيْبَتِهِ، كَمَا أعْتِقِدُ فِىْ حَضْرَتِهِ

Allahumma wa inni a‘taqidu hurmata nabiyyika fi ghaybatihi, kama a‘taqidu fi hadratihi

O Allah, I believe in the sanctity of Your Prophet in his absence, just as I do in his presence

وَأعْلَمُ أنَّ رُسُلَكَ وَخُلَفَائَكَ أحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَكَ يُرْزَقُونَ، فَرِحِيْنَ

wa a‘lamu anna rusulaka wa khulafa’aka ahya’un ‘indaka yurzaqun, farihin

And I know that Your Messengers and successors are alive with You, provided for, rejoicing

يَرَوْنَ مَكَانِىْ وَيَسْمَعُونَ كَلَامِىْ وَيَرُدُّونَ سَلَامِىْ عَلَيَّ

yarawna makani wa yasma‘una kalami wa yarudduna salami ‘alayya

They see my place, hear my words, and return my greetings to me

وَأنَّكَ حَجَبْتَ عَنْ سَمْعِىْ كَلَامَهُمْ وَفَتَحْتَ بَابَ فَهْمِىْ بِلَذِيْذِ مُنَاجَاتِهِمْ

wa annaka hajabta ‘an sam‘i kalamahum wa fatahta baba fahmi bi-ladhidhi munajatihim

And that You have veiled their speech from my hearing, but opened the door of my understanding to the sweetness of their intimate prayers

فَاِنِّيْ اَسْتَأْذِنُكَ يَا رَبِّ أوَ لاً، وَأسْتَأْذِنُ رَسُولَكَ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ ثَانِياً

fa-inni asta’dhinuka ya Rabbi awwalan, wa asta’dhinu rasulaka salawatuka ‘alayhi wa alihi thaniyan

So I seek Your permission, O my Lord, first, and I seek the permission of Your Messenger, peace be upon him and his family, second

وَاَسْتَأْذِنُ خَلِيْفَتَكَ الْاِمَامَ الْمُفْتَرَضَ عَلَيَّ طَاعَتُهُ فِي الدُّخُولِ فِىْ سَاعَتِىْ هٰذِهِ الىٰ بَيْتِهِ

wa asta’dhinu khalifataka al-imama al-muftaradha ‘alayya ta‘atuhu fi dukhuli fi sa‘ati hadhihi ila baytihi

And I seek the permission of Your successor, the Imam whose obedience is obligatory upon me, to enter his house at this moment

وَأسْتَأْذِنُ مَلَائِكَتَكَ الْمُوَكَّلِيْنَ بِهٰذِهِ الْبُقْعَةِ الْمُبَارَكَةِ، اَلْمُطِيْعَةِ لَكَ السَّامِعَةِ

wa asta’dhinu mala’ikataka al-muwakkalina bihadhihi al-buq‘ati al-mubarakati, al-muti‘ati laka as-sami‘ah

And I seek the permission of Your angels assigned to this blessed spot, obedient and attentive to You

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ اَيَّتُهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ الْمُوَكَّلُونَ بِهٰذَا الْمَشْهَدِ الشَّرِيْفِ الْمُبَارَكِ، وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

as-salamu ‘alaykum ayyatuha al-mala’ikatu al-muwakkaluna bihadha al-mashhadi ash-sharifi al-mubarak, wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Peace be upon you, O angels assigned to this noble, blessed sanctuary, and the mercy and blessings of Allah

بِاذْنِ اللهِ وَاِذْنِ رَسُولِهِ وَاذْنِ خُلَفَائِهِ هٰذا الاِمَامِ، وَبِاذِنِكُمْ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْكُمْ أَجْمَعِيْنَ

bi-idhni Allahi wa idhni rasulihi wa idhni khulafa’ihi hadha al-imam, wa bi-idhnikum salawatullahi ‘alaykum ajma‘in

By Allah’s permission, and the permission of His Messenger and His successors, and by your permission, may Allah’s blessings be upon you all

أدْخُلُ هٰذا الْبَيْتَ مُتَقَرِّباً اِلَى اللهِ بِاللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ

adkhulu hadha al-bayta mutaqarriban ila Allahi billahi wa rasulihi Muhammadin wa alihi at-tahirin

I enter this house seeking nearness to Allah, by Allah and His Messenger Muhammad and his pure family

فَكُونُوا مَلَائِكَةَ اللهِ أعْوَانِىْ، وَكُونُوا أنْصَارِيْ حَتّٰى أدْخُلَ هٰذَا الْبَيْتَ

fakunu mala’ikata Allahi a‘wani, wa kunu ansari hatta adkhula hadha al-bayta

So be, O angels of Allah, my helpers, and my supporters until I enter this house

وَأدْعُوَا اللهَ بِفُنُونِ الدَّعَوَاتِ، وَأعْتَرِفَ للهِ بِالْعُبُودِيَّةِ، وَلِهٰذَا الْاِمَامِ وَآبَائِهِ

wa ad‘uwa Allaha bi-fununi ad-da‘awat, wa a‘tarifa lillahi bil-‘ubudiyyah, wa lihadha al-imami wa aba’ihi

And I will call upon Allah with various supplications, and confess servitude to Allah, and to this Imam and his forefathers

صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِمْ - بِالطَّاعَةِ

salawatullahi ‘alayhim – bi-ta‘ah

May Allah’s blessings be upon them – with obedience

**When entering, place your right foot first and say:**

بِسْمِ اللهِ وَبِاللهِ، وَفِىْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَعَلىٰ مِلَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ

Bismillahi wa billahi, wa fi sabilillahi wa ‘ala millati rasulillah

In the name of Allah and by Allah, in the way of Allah and upon the creed of the Messenger of Allah

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and

أشْهَدُ اَنْ لاَ اِلٰهَ الَا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، وَأشْهَدُ أنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lahu, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu

Messenger

**Then say:**

اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ

Allahu akbar

Allah is the Greatest

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

Alhamdulillah

All praise is due to Allah

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ

Subhanallah

Glory be to Allah

لاَ اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ

La ilaha illa Allah

There is no god but Allah

**After entering and facing the Qiblah, recite:**

سَلَامُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ وَتَحِيَّاتُهُ وَصَلَوَاتُهُ عَلىٰ مَوْلَايَ صَاحِبِ الزَّمَانِ

Salamu Allahi wa barakatuhu wa tahiyyatuhu wa salawatuhu ‘ala mawlaya sahib az-zaman

Allah’s peace, blessings, greetings, and prayers be upon my master, the Master of the Age

صَاحِبِ الضِّيَاءِ وَالنُّورِ، وَالدِّيْنِ الْمَأْثُورِ

Sahibi ad-diya’i wa an-nur, wa ad-dini al-ma’thur

Master of light and radiance, and the inherited religion

وَاللِّوَاءِ الْمَشْهُورِ، وَالْكِتَابِ الْمَنْشُورِ

wa al-liwa’i al-mashhur, wa al-kitabi al-manshur

And the well-known banner, and the open Book

وَصَاحِبِ الدُّهُورِ وَالْعُصُورِ، وَخَلَفِ الْحَسَنِ

wa sahibi ad-duhur wa al-‘usur, wa khalafi al-hasan

And the master of ages and eras, and the successor of Hasan

الْاِمَامِ الْمُؤْتَمَنِ، وَالْقَائِمِ الْمُعْتَمَدِ

al-imami al-mu’taman, wa al-qa’imi al-mu‘tamid

The trustworthy Imam, the reliable one who stands up

وَالْمَنْصُورِ الْمُؤُيَّدِ، وَالْكَهْفِ وَالْعَضُدِ

wa al-mansuri al-mu’ayyad, wa al-kahfi wa al-‘adud

The supported and aided one, the refuge and the strong arm

وَعِمَادِ الْاِسْلَامِ وَرُكْنِ الْأَنَامِ

wa ‘imadi al-islam wa rukni al-anam

The pillar of Islam and the support of all creation

وَمِفْتَاحِ الْكَلَامِ، وَوَلِيِّ الْاَحْكَامِ

wa miftahi al-kalam, wa waliyi al-ahkam

The key to speech, and the guardian of the laws

وَشَمْسِ الظَّلَامِ، وَبَدْرِ التَّمَامِ

wa shamsi azh-zhalam, wa badri at-tamam

The sun in darkness, and the full moon

وَنَضْرَةِ الْأَيَّامِ، وَصَاحِبِ الصَّمْصَامِ

wa nadrati al-ayyam, wa sahibi as-samsam

The beauty of days, and the owner of the sword

وَفَلَّاقِ الْهَامِ، وَالْبَحْرِ الْقَمْقَامِ

wa fellaqi al-ham, wa al-bahri al-qamqam

The splitter of heads, and the roaring sea

وَالسَّيِّدِ الْهُمَامِ وَحُجَّةِ الْخِصَامِ

wa as-sayyidi al-humam wa hujjati al-khisam

The noble master and the proof in disputes

وَبَابِ الْمَقَامِ لِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامِ

wa babi al-maqam li-yawmi al-qiyam

The gate of standing for the Day of Resurrection

وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلىٰ مُفَرِّجِ الْكُرُبَاتِ، وَخَوَّاضِ الْغَمَرَاتِ

wa as-salamu ‘ala mufarriji al-kurubat, wa khawwadi al-ghamarat

And peace be upon the reliever of distresses, and the one who braves the depths

وَمُنّفِّسِ الْحَسَرَاتِ، وَبَقِيَّةِ اللهِ فِىْ أرْضِهِ

wa munaffisi al-hasarati, wa baqiyyatillahi fi ardih

And the reliever of sorrows, and the remainder of Allah on His earth

وَصَاحِبِ فَرْضِهِ، وَحُجَّتِهِ عَلىٰ خَلْقِهِ

wa sahibi fardih, wa hujjatihi ‘ala khalqih

And the one with His duty, and His proof over His creation

وَعَيْبَةِ عِلْمِهِ، وَمَوْضِعِ صِدْقِهِ

wa ‘aybati ‘ilmih, wa mawdi‘i sidqih

And the repository of His knowledge, and the place of His truthfulness

وَالْمُنْتَهٰى الَيْهِ مَوَارِيْثُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ

wa al-muntaha ilayhi mawarithu al-anbiya’

And the one to whom the inheritances of the prophets end

وَلَدَيْهِ مَوْجُودٌ آثَارُ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ

wa ladayhi mawjudun atharu al-awsiya’

And with him are found the relics of the successors

وَحُجَّةِ اللهِ وَابْنِ رَسُولِهِ، وَالْقَيِّمِ مَقَامَهُ

wa hujjatillahi wa ibni rasulih, wa al-qayyimi maqamahu

And the proof of Allah and the son of His Messenger, and the one who stands in his place

وَوَلِيَّ أمْرِ اللهِ، وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

wa waliyyi amrillah, wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

And the guardian of Allah’s command, and the mercy and blessings of Allah

اَللَّهُمَّ كَمَا انْتَجَبْتَهُ لِعِلْمِكَ، وَاصْطَفَيْتَهُ لِحُكْمِكَ

Allahumma kama intajabtahu li‘ilmik, wa istafaitahu lihukmik

O Allah, just as You selected him for Your knowledge, and chose him for Your rule

وَخَصَصْتَهُ بِمَعْرِفَتِكَ، وَاخْتَرْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ

wa khasastahu bima‘rifatik, wa ikhtartahu linafsik

And You granted him Your knowledge, and chose him for Yourself

وَغشَّيْتَهُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ، وَرَبَّيْتَهُ بِنِعْمَتِكَ

wa ghashshaytahu birahmatik, wa rabbaytahu bini‘matik

And You covered him with Your mercy, and nurtured him with Your blessings

وَغَذَّيْتَهُ بِحِكْمَتِكَ، وَاخْتَرْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ

wa ghadhaytahu bihikmatik, wa ikhtartahu linafsik

And You nourished him with Your wisdom, and chose him for Yourself

وَاجْتَبَيْتَهُ لِبأسِكَ، وَارْتَضَيْتَهُ لِقُدْسِكَ

wa ijtabaytahu liba’sik, wa irtadaytahu liqudsik

And You selected him for Your might, and were pleased with him for Your holiness

وَجَعَلْتَهُ هَادِياً لِمَنْ شِئْتَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

wa ja‘altahu hadiyan liman shi’ta min khalqik

And You made him a guide for whomever You will among Your creation

وَدَيَّانَ الدِّيْنَ بِعَدْلِكَ، وَفَصْلَ الْقَضَايَا بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ

wa dayyana ad-dina bi‘adlik, wa fasla al-qadaya bayna ‘ibadik

And the judge of the religion by Your justice, and the one who settles disputes among Your servants

وَوَعَدْتَهُ أنْ تَجْمَعَ بِهِ الْكَلِمَ، وَتُفَرِّجَ بِهِ عَنِ الْاُمَمِ

wa wa‘adtahu an tajma‘a bihi al-kalim, wa tufarrija bihi ‘ani al-umam

And You promised him to unite the word through him, and to relieve the nations through him

وَتُنِيْرَ بِعَدْلِهِ الظُّلَمِ، وَتُطْفِيءَ بِهِ نِيْرَانَ الظُّلْمِ

wa tunira bi‘adlihi azh-zhalam, wa tutfi’a bihi niran azh-zulm

And to illuminate the darkness with his justice, and to extinguish the fires of oppression through him

وَتَقْمَعَ بِهِ حَرَّ الْكُفْرِ وَآثَارَهُ، وَتُطَهِّرَ بِهِ بِلَادَكَ

wa taqma‘a bihi harra al-kufri wa atharahu, wa tutahhira bihi biladak

And to suppress the heat of disbelief and its traces, and to purify Your lands through him

وَتَشْفِىْ بِهِ صُدُورَ عِبَادِكَ، وَتَجْمَعَ بِهِ الْمَمَالِكَ كُلَّهَا

wa tashfi bihi sudura ‘ibadik, wa tajma‘a bihi al-mamalika kullaha

And to heal the hearts of Your servants through him, and to gather all the kingdoms through him

قَرِيْبَهَا وَبَعِيْدَهَا، عَزِيْزَهَا وَذَلِيْلَهَا

qaribuha wa ba‘iduha, ‘azizuha wa dhaliluha

Whether near or far, mighty or humble

شَرْقَهَا وَغَرْبَهَا، سَهْلَهَا وَجَبَلَهَا

sharqaha wa gharbaha, sahlaha wa jabalaha

East and west, plain and mountain

صَبَاهَا وَدَبُورَهَا شِمَالَهَا وَجُنُوبَهَا

sabaha wa daburaha, shimala wa junubaha

Its east wind and west wind, north and south

بَرَّهَا وَبَحْرَهَا، حُزُوْنَهَا وَوُعُوررَهَا

barraha wa bahraha, huzunaha wa wu‘uraha

Its land and sea, its hills and valleys

يَمْلأُهَا، قِسْطاً وَعَدْلاً كَمَا مُلِئَتْ ظُلْماً وَجَوْراً

yamla’uha qistan wa ‘adlan kama muli’at zulman wa jawran

He will fill it with justice and equity as it was filled with oppression and injustice

وَتُمَكَّنَ لَهُ فِيْهَا وَتُنْجِزَ بِهِ وَعْدَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

wa tumakkina lahu fiha wa tunjiza bihi wa‘da al-mu’minin

And You will establish him in it and fulfill the promise to the believers through him

حَتّٰى لاَ يَسْتَخْفِيَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْحَقِّ، مَخَافَةَ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْخَلْقِ

hatta la yastakhfiya bishay’in mina al-haqq, makhafata ahadin mina al-khalq

Until nothing of the truth is hidden out of fear of anyone from creation

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ صَلَاةً تُظْهِرُ بِهَا حُجَّتَهُ

Allahumma salli ‘alayhi salatan tuz’hiru biha hujjatah

O Allah, send blessings upon him—a blessing that manifests his proof

وَتُوضِحُ بِهَا بَهْجَتَهُ، وَتَرْفَعُ بِهَا دَرَجَتَهُ

wa tudihu biha bahjatah, wa tarfa‘u biha darajatah

And clarifies his splendor, and raises his rank

وَتُؤَيِّدُ بِهَا سُلْطَانَهُ، وَتُعَظِّمُ بِهَا بُرْهَانَهُ

wa tu’ayyidu biha sultanah, wa tu‘azzimu biha burhanah

And supports his authority, and magnifies his evidence

وَتُشَرِّفُ بِهَا مَكَانَهُ، وَتُعْلِىْ بِهَا بُنْيَانَهُ

wa tusharrifu biha makanah, wa tu‘liya biha bunyanah

And honors his position, and elevates his foundation

وَتُعِزُّ بِهَا نَصْرَهُ، وَتَرْفَعُ بِهَا قَدْرَهُ

wa tu‘izzu biha nasrah, wa tarfa‘u biha qadrah

And grants victory through him, and raises his esteem

وَتُسَمِّيْ بِهَا ذِكْرَهُ، وَتُظْهِرُ بِهَا كَلِمَتَهُ

wa tusammi biha dhikrah, wa tuz’hiru biha kalimatahu

And makes his remembrance renowned, and makes his word manifest

وَتُكْثِرُ بِهَا نُصْرَتَهُ، وَتُعِزُّ بَهَا دَعْوَتَهُ

wa tukthiru biha nusratah, wa tu‘izzu biha da‘watah

And multiplies his support, and strengthens his call

وَتَزِيْدُهُ بِهَا اِكْرَامًا وَتَجْعَلُهُ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ اِمَامًا

wa taziduhu biha ikraman wa taj‘aluhu lil-muttaqina imama

And increases his honor, and makes him an Imam for the God-conscious

وَتُبَلِّغُهُ فِىْ هٰذا الْمَكَانِ، مِثْلَ هٰذَا الْأَوَانِ

wa tuballighuhu fi hadha al-makan, mithla hadha al-awan

And grant him in this place, at this time

وَفِىْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَاَوَانٍ، مِنَّا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلَاماً

wa fi kulli makan wa awan, minna tahiyyatan wa salaman

And in every place and time, from us, greetings and peace

لاَ يَبْلىٰ جَدِيْدُهُ، وَلاَ يَفْنىٰ عَدِيْدُهُ

la yabla jadiduhu, wa la yafna ‘adiduhu

Whose newness never wears out, nor does its number end

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَقِيَّةَ اللهِ فِىْ أرْضِهِ وَبِلَادِهِ

as-salamu ‘alayka ya baqiyyatallahi fi ardihi wa biladih

Peace be upon you, O remainder of Allah on His earth and in His lands

وَحُجَّتَهُ عَلىٰ عِبَادِهِ

wa hujjatahu ‘ala ‘ibadih

And His proof over His servants

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَلَفَ السَّلَفِ

as-salamu ‘alayka ya khalafa as-salaf

Peace be upon you, O successor of the predecessors

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَاحِبَ الشَّرَفِ

as-salamu ‘alayka ya sahiba ash-sharaf

Peace be upon you, O possessor of honor

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ الْمْعْبُودِ

as-salamu ‘alayka ya hujjata al-ma‘bud

Peace be upon you, O proof of the Worshipped One

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا كَلِمَةَ الْمحْمُودِ

as-salamu ‘alayka ya kalimata al-mahmud

Peace be upon you, O word of the Praised One

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا شَمْسَ الشُّمُوسِ

as-salamu ‘alayka ya shamsa ash-shumus

Peace be upon you, O sun of all suns

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَهْدِيَّ الْاَرْضِ، وَمُبَيَّنَ عَيْنِ الْفَرْضِ

as-salamu ‘alayka ya mahdiyya al-ard, wa mubayyina ‘ayni al-fard

Peace be upon you, O guided one of the earth, and clarifier of obligations

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ يَا صَاحِبَ الزَّمَانِ وَالْعَالِي الشَّأْنِ

as-salamu ‘alayka ya mawlaya ya sahiba az-zaman wa al-‘ali ash-sha’n

Peace be upon you, my master, O master of the time and of high status

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَاتِمَ الْاَوْصِيَاءِ وَابْنَ خَاتِمِ الْاَنْبِيَاءِ

as-salamu ‘alayka ya khatima al-awsiya’ wa ibna khatimi al-anbiya’

Peace be upon you, O seal of the successors and son of the seal of the prophets

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُعِزَّ الْاَوْلِيَاءِ وَمُذِلَّ الْأْعْدَاءِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya mu‘izza al-awliya’ wa mudhilla al-a‘da’

Peace be upon you, O honor-giver to the saints and humbler of enemies

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْاِمَامُ الْوَحِيْدُ، وَالْقَائِمُ الرَّشِيْدُ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhal-imam al-wahid, wal-qa’im ar-rashid

Peace be upon you, O unique Imam, and the rightly guided one who rises

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْاِمَامُ الْفَرِيْدُ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhal-imam al-farid

Peace be upon you, O singular Imam

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْاِمَامُ الْمُنْتَظَرُ، وَالْحَقُّ الْمُشْتَهَرُ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhal-imam al-muntazar, wal-haqqu al-mushtahar

Peace be upon you, O awaited Imam, and the manifest truth

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْاِمَامُ الْوَلِيُّ الْمُجْتَبىٰ، وَالْحَقُّ الْمُنْتَهىٰ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhal-imam al-waliyyu al-mujtaba, wal-haqqu al-muntaha

Peace be upon you, O chosen guardian Imam, and the ultimate truth

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْاِمَامُ الْمُرْتَجىٰ لِازَالَةِ الْجَوْرِ وَالْعُدوَانِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhal-imam al-murtaja li-izalati al-jawr wal-‘udwan

Peace be upon you, O hoped-for Imam for removing injustice and aggression

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْاِمَامُ الْمُبِيْدُ لِأَهْلِ الْفُسُوقِ وَالطُّغْيَانِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhal-imam al-mubid li-ahli al-fusuq wat-tughyan

Peace be upon you, O Imam who destroys the wicked and tyrants

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْاِمَامُ الْهَادِمُ لِبُنْيَانِ الشِّرْكِ وَالنِّفَاقِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhal-imam al-hadim li-bunyan ish-shirk wan-nifaq

Peace be upon you, O Imam who demolishes the structures of polytheism and hypocrisy

وَالْحَاصِدُ فُرُوعَ الْغَيِّ وَالشِّقَاقِ

wal-hasid furu‘a al-ghayyi wash-shiqaq

And the reaper of the branches of error and discord

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أيُّهَا الْمُدَّخَرُ لِتَجْدِيْدِ الْفَرَائضِ وَالسُّنَنِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyahal-muddakhar litajdidil-fara’id was-sunan

Peace be upon you, O stored one for renewing obligations and traditions

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا طَامِسَ آثَارِ الزَّيْغِ وَالْأَهْوَاءِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya tamisa athari az-zaygh wal-ahwa’

Peace be upon you, O eraser of the traces of deviation and desires

وَقَاطِعَ حبَائِلِ الْكَذِبِ وَالْفِتَنِ وَالْاِمْتِرَاءِ

wa qati‘a haba’ili al-kadhib wal-fitan wal-imtira’

And the cutter of the snares of lies, seditions, and doubts

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أيُّهَا الْمُؤَمَّلُ لِاحْيَاءِ الدَّوْلَةِ الشَّرِيْفَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyahal-mu’ammalu li-ihyai ad-dawlah ash-sharifah

Peace be upon you, O hoped-for one for reviving the noble state

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا جَامِعَ الْكَلِمَةِ عَلَى التَّقْوىٰ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya jami‘a al-kalimati ‘ala at-taqwa

Peace be upon you, O uniter of the word upon piety

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَابَ اللهِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya bab Allah

Peace be upon you, O gate of Allah

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ اللهِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya thar Allah

Peace be upon you, O vengeance of Allah

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحْيِيَ مَعَالِمِ الدِّيْنِ وَأهْلِهِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya muhyi ma‘alim ad-din wa ahlihi

Peace be upon you, O reviver of the landmarks of religion and its people

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا قَاصِمَ شَوْكَةِ الْمُعْتَدِيْنَ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya qasim shawkat al-mu‘tadin

Peace be upon you, O breaker of the thorns of the aggressors

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَجْهَ اللهِ الَّذِىْ لاَ يَهْلِكُ وَلاَ يَبْلىٰ الىٰ يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya wajha Allah alladhi la yahliku wa la yabla ila yawmi ad-din

Peace be upon you, O Face of Allah who neither perishes nor fades until the Day of Judgment

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رُكْنَ الْاِيْمَانِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya rukn al-iman

Peace be upon you, O pillar of faith

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أيُّهَا السَّبَبُ الْمُتَّصِلُ بَيْنَ الْأرْضِ وَالسَّمَاءِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyah as-sabab al-muttasil bayna al-ard wa as-sama’

Peace be upon you, O the connecting cause between earth and sky

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَاحِبَ الْفَتْحِ وَنَاشِرَ رَايَةِ الْهُدىٰ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya sahib al-fath wa nashir rayat al-huda

Peace be upon you, O possessor of victory and spreader of the banner of guidance

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُؤَلِّفُ شَمْلِ الصَّلَاحِ وَالرِّضا

As-salamu ‘alayka ya mu’allif shaml as-salah wa ar-rida

Peace be upon you, O uniter of the bonds of righteousness and contentment

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا طَالِبَ ثَارِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ، وَأبْنَاءِ الْأنْبِيَاءِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya taliba thari al-anbiya’, wa abna’i al-anbiya’

Peace be upon you, O avenger of the Prophets and sons of the Prophets

وَالثَّائِرَ بِدَمِ الْمَقْتُولِ بِكَرْبَلَاءَ

wa ath-tha’ira bi-dami al-maqtul bi-Karbala

And the one who revolts for the blood of the slain in Karbala

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أيُّهَا الْمَنْصُورُ عَلىٰ مَنِ اعْتَدىٰ

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhal-mansur ‘ala man i‘tada

Peace be upon you, O the victorious over those who transgress

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أيُّهَا الْمُضْطَرُّ الْمُجَابُ اِذَا دَعَا

As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhal-mudtarri al-mujab idha da‘a

Peace be upon you, O the distressed one whose prayer is answered

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بِقِيَّةَ الْخَلَائِفِ، الْبَرُّ التَّقِيُّ، الْبَاقِىْ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya baqiyyat al-khala’if, al-barr at-taqi, al-baqi

Peace be upon you, O remainder of the Caliphs, the pious and enduring

لِازَالَةِ الْجَوْرِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ

li-izalati al-jawr wal-‘udwan

For the removal of injustice and aggression

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ النَّبِيِّ الْمُصْطَفىٰ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna an-nabi al-mustafa

Peace be upon you, O son of the chosen Prophet

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ عَلِيٍّ الْمُرْتَضىٰ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna ‘Aliyyil-murtada

Peace be upon you, O son of Ali the chosen one

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna Fatimati az-Zahra

Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah az-Zahra

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ خَدِيْجَةَ الْكُبْرىٰ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna Khadijatil-kubra

Peace be upon you, O son of Khadijah the Great

وَابْنَ السَّادَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ، وَالْقَادَةِ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ

wa ibna as-sadati al-muqarrabin, wal-qadati al-muttaqin

And son of the noble and close ones, and leaders of the pious

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ النُّجَبَاءِ الْأَكْرَمِيْنَ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna an-nujaba’ al-akramin

Peace be upon you, O son of the noble and generous

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الأَصْفِيَاءِ الْمُهْتَدِيْنَ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-asfiya’ al-muhtadin

Peace be upon you, O son of the pure and guided

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْهُدَاةِ الْمَهْدِيِّيْنَ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-hudat al-mahdiyyin

Peace be upon you, O son of the guides and rightly guided

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ خِيَرَةِ الْخَيْرِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna khayrati al-khayr

Peace be upon you, O son of the best of good

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ سَادَةِ الْبَشَرِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna sadati al-bashar

Peace be upon you, O son of the masters of mankind

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْغطَارِفَةِ الْأَكْرَمِيْنَ وَالْأطَائِبِ الْمُطَهَّرِيْنَ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-ghatarifati al-akramin wal-ata’ib al-mutahharin

Peace be upon you, O son of the noble and pure ones

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْبَرَرَةِ الْمُنْتَجَبِيْنَ، وَالْخَضَارِمَةِ الْأَنْجَبِيْنَ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-bararati al-muntajabin, wal-khadarimati al-anjabin

Peace be upon you, O son of the chosen righteous and noble

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْحُجَجِ الْمُنِيْرَةِ، وَالسُّرُجِ الْمُضِيْئَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-hujaji al-munira, was-suruj al-mudi’ah

Peace be upon you, O son of the luminous proofs and shining lamps

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الشُّهُبِ الثَّاقِبَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna ash-shuhubi ath-thaqibah

Peace be upon you, O son of the piercing meteors

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ قَوَاعِدِ الْعِلْمِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna qawa‘idi al-‘ilm

Peace be upon you, O son of the foundations of knowledge

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ مَعَادِنِ الْحِلْمِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna ma‘adini al-hilm

Peace be upon you, O son of the mines of forbearance

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْكَوَاكِبِ الزَّاهِرَةِ، وَالنُّجُومِ الْبَاهِرَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-kawakibi az-zahirah, wan-nujumi al-bahirah

Peace be upon you, O son of the shining stars and brilliant constellations

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الشُّمُوسِ الطَّالِعَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna ash-shumusi at-tali‘ah

Peace be upon you, O son of the rising suns

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْأَقْمَارِ السَّاطِعَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-aqmar as-sati‘ah

Peace be upon you, O son of the shining moons

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ السُّبُلِ الْوَاضِحَةِ وَالْأَعْلَامِ اللَّائِحَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna as-subuli al-wadihah wal-a‘lam al-la’ihah

Peace be upon you, O son of the clear paths and waving flags

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ السُّنَنِ الْمَشْهُورَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna as-sunan al-mashhurah

Peace be upon you, O son of the famous traditions

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْمَعَالِمِ الْمَأْثُورَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-ma‘alim al-ma’thurah

Peace be upon you, O son of the transmitted landmarks

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الشَّوَاهِدِ الْمَشْهُودَةِ وَالْمُعْجِزَاتِ الْمَوْجُودَةِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna ash-shawahidi al-mashhudah wal-mu‘jizat al-mawjudah

Peace be upon you, O son of the witnessed signs and existing miracles

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الصِّرَاطِ الْمُسْتَقِيْمِ وَالنَّبَاءِ الْعَظِيْمِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna as-sirati al-mustaqim wan-naba’i al-‘azim

Peace be upon you, O son of the straight path and the great news

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْآيَاتِ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالدَّلَائِلِ الظَّاهِرَاتِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-ayati al-bayyinati waddala’il az-zahirah

Peace be upon you, O son of the clear signs and manifest proofs

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْبَرَاهِينِ الْوَاضِحَاتِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-barahin al-wadihat

Peace be upon you, O son of the clear evidences

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْحُجَجِ الْبَالِغَاتِ وَالنِّعَمِ السَّابِغَاتِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna al-hujaji al-balighat wan-ni‘ami as-sabighat

Peace be upon you, O son of the conclusive proofs and abundant blessings

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ طٰهَ وَالْمُحْكَمَاتِ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna Taha wal-muhkamat

Peace be upon you, O son of Taha and the decisive verses

وَيَا سِينَ وَالذَّارِيَاتِ، وَالطُّورِ وَالْعَادِيَاتِ

wa ya Sin wa adh-Dhariyat, wat-Tur wal-‘Adiyat

And O son of Sin, Adh-Dhariyat, At-Tur, and Al-‘Adiyat

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ مَنْ دَنَىٰ فَتَدَلَّىٰ

As-salamu ‘alayka ya ibna man dana fatadalla

Peace be upon you, O son of the one who drew near and descended

فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ

fakana qab qawsayn aw adna

So he was within two bows’ length or nearer

وَاقْتَرَبَ مِنَ الْعَلِيِّ الْأَعْلَىٰ

wa iqtarraba mina al-‘aliyyi al-a‘la

And approached the Most High

لَيْتَ شِعْرِيْ أَيْنَ اسْتَقَرَّتْ بِكَ النَّوَىٰ

laita shi’ri ayna istaqarrat bika an-nawa

I wish I knew where your constellation settled

أَمْ أَنْتَ بِوَادِي طُوَىٰ

am anta biwadi Tuwa

Or are you in the valley of Tuwa

عَزِيزٌ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَرَى الْخَلْقَ وَلَا تُرَىٰ

‘azizun ‘alayya an ara al-khalqa wa la tura

It pains me that I see the creation but you are not seen

وَلَا يُسْمَعُ لَكَ حَسِيسٌ وَلَا نَجْوَىٰ

wa la yusma‘u laka hasisun wa la najwa

Nor is any whisper or secret conversation heard from you

عَزِيزٌ عَلَيَّ أَنْ يُرَى الْخَلْقُ وَلَا تُرَىٰ

‘azizun ‘alayya an yura al-khalqu wa la tura

It pains me that the creation is seen but you are not

عَزِيزٌ عَلَيَّ أَنْ تُحِيطَ بِكَ الْأَعْدَاءُ

‘azizun ‘alayya an tuhita bika al-a‘da’

It pains me that enemies surround you

بِنَفْسِيْ أَنْتَ مِنْ مُغَيَّبٍ مَا غَابَ عَنَّا

binafsi anta min mughayyabin ma ghab ‘anna

You, in my soul, are among the hidden who are absent from us

بِنَفْسِيْ أَنْتَ مِنْ نَازِحٍ مَا نَزَحَ عَنَّا

binafsi anta min nazihin ma nazaha ‘anna

You, in my soul, are among the emigrants who have departed from us

وَنَحْنُ نَقُولُ: الْحَمْدُ للهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

wa nahnu naqulu: al-hamdu lillahi rabbil ‘alamin

And we say: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds

وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ

wa salla Allahu ‘ala Muhammad wa alihi ajma’in

And may Allah’s blessings be upon Muhammad and all his family

اَللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ كَاشِفُ الْكَرْبِ وَالْبَلْوَىٰ

Allahumma anta kashiful-karbi wal-balwa

O Allah, You are the remover of distress and affliction

وَإِلَيْكَ نَشْكُو فَقْدَ نَبِيِّنَا

wa ilayka nashku faqda nabiyyina

And to You we complain the loss of our Prophet

وَغَيْبَةَ إِمَامِنَا وَابْنِ بِنْتِ نَبِيِّنَا

wa ghaybata imamina wa ibni binti nabiyyina

And the absence of our Imam, the son of the daughter of our Prophet

اَللَّهُمَّ وَاملأ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ قِسْطًا وَعَدْلًا

Allahumma wa amla’ bihi al-arda qistan wa ‘adlan

O Allah, fill the earth with justice and equity through him

كَمَا مُلِئَتْ ظُلْمًا وَجُورًا

kama muli’at zulman wa jur’an

As it was filled with oppression and injustice

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ

Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad wa ahli baytihi

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and his family

وَأَرِنَا سَيِّدَنَا وَصَاحِبَنَا وَإِمَامَنَا وَمَوْلَانَا صَاحِبَ الزَّمَانِ

wa arina sayyidana wa sahibana wa imamana wa mawlana sahib az-zaman

And show us our master, companion, Imam, and guardian, the Owner of the Time

وَمَلْجَأَ أَهْلِ عَصْرِنَا

wa malja’a ahl ‘asrina

And refuge of the people of our era

وَمَنْجَا أَهْلِ دَهْرِنَا

wa manja ahl dahrina

And deliverer of the people of our time

ظَاهِرَ الْمَقَالَةِ

zahir al-maqala

Manifest in speech

وَضَاحِ الدَّلَالَةِ

wa dahil ad-dalala

Clear in guidance

هَادِيًا مِنَ الضَّلَالَةِ

hadiyan min ad-dalala

A guide from error

مُنْقِذًا مِنَ الْجَهَالَةِ

munqizan min al-jahala

A rescuer from ignorance

وَأَظْهِرْ مَعَالِمَهُ

wa azhir ma’alimahu

And manifest his signs

وَثَبِّتْ قَوَاعِدَهُ

wa thabbit qawa’idahu

And establish his foundations

وَأَعِزَّ نَصْرَهُ

wa a‘izz nasrah

And strengthen his victory

وَأَطِلْ عُمْرَهُ

wa atil ‘umrah

And prolong his life

وَأَبْسِطْ جَاهَهُ

wa absit jahahu

And expand his prestige

وَأَحْيِ أَمْرَهُ

wa ahyi amrah

And revive his cause

وَأَظْهِرْ نُورَهُ

wa azhir nurah

And manifest his light

وَقَرِّبْ بُعْدَهُ

wa qarrib bu‘dah

And bring near his distance

وَأَنْجِزْ وَعْدَهُ

wa anjiz wa‘dah

And fulfill his promise

وَأَوْفِ عَهْدَهُ

wa awfi ‘ahdah

And keep his covenant

وَزَيِّنِ الْأَرْضَ بِطُولِ بَقَائِهِ

wa zayyin al-arda bituli baqa’ih

And adorn the earth with the length of his existence

وَدَوَامِ مُلْكِهِ

wa dawam mulkih

And the permanence of his kingdom

وَعُلُوِّ ارْتِقَائِهِ وَارْتِفَاعِهِ

wa ‘uluww irtiqa’ih wa irtifa’ih

And the exaltation of his ascension and elevation

وَأَنِرْ مَشَاهِدَهُ

wa anir mashahidah

And illuminate his scenes

وَثَبِّتْ قَوَاعِدَهُ

wa thabbit qawa’idah

And establish his foundations

وَعَظِّمْ بُرْهَانَهُ

wa ‘azzim burhanah

And magnify his proof

وَأَمِدَّ سُلْطَانَهُ

wa amidd sultanah

And extend his authority

وَأَعْلِ مَكَانَهُ

wa a‘li makanah

And elevate his position

وَقَوِّ أَرْكَانَهُ

wa qawwi arkanah

And strengthen his pillars

وَأَرِنَا وَجْهَهُ

wa arina wajhah

And show us his face

وَأَوْضِحْ بَهْجَتَهُ

wa awdih bahjatah

And clarify his joy

وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَتَهُ

wa irfa‘ darajatah

And raise his rank

وَأَظْهِرْ كَلِمَتَهُ

wa azhir kalimatah

And manifest his word

وَأَعِزَّ دَعْوَتَهُ

wa a‘izz da‘watah

And honor his call

وَأَعْطِهِ سُؤْلَهُ

wa a‘tih su’lah

And grant him his request

وَبَلِّغْهُ يَا رَبِّ مَأْمُولَهُ

wa ballighhu ya rabb ma’mulah

And fulfill for him, O Lord, his hope

وَشَرِّفْ مَقَامَهُ

wa sharrif maqamah

And honor his station

وَعَظِّمْ إِكْرَامَهُ

wa ‘azzim ikramah

And magnify his respect

وَأَعِزَّ بِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa a‘izz bihi al-mu’minin

And honor the believers through him

وَأَحْيِ بِهِ سُنَنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

wa ahyi bihi sunan al-mursalin

And revive, through him, the traditions of the Messengers

وَأَذِلَّ بِهِ الْمُنَافِقِينَ

wa adhilla bihi al-munafiqin

And humiliate, through him, the hypocrites

وَأَهْلِكْ بِهِ الْجَبَّارِينَ

wa ahlik bihi al-jabbarin

And destroy, through him, the tyrants

وَاكْفِهِ بَغْيَ الْحَاسِدِينَ

wa akfihi baghy al-hasidin

And protect him from the oppression of the envious

وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ شَرِّ الْكَائِدِينَ

wa a‘idhhu min sharri al-ka’idin

And shield him from the evil of the schemers

وَازْجُرْ عَنْهُ إِرَادَةَ الظَّالِمِينَ

wa azjur ‘anhu iradati az-zalimin

And repel from him the will of the oppressors

وَأَيِّدْهُ بِجُنُودٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ

wa ayyidhu bijunudin min al-mala’ikati musawwimin

And support him with armies of marked angels

وَسَلِّطْهُ عَلَىٰ أَعْدَاءِ دِينِكَ أَجْمَعِينَ

wa sallithhu ‘ala a‘da’i dinika ajma’in

And grant him power over all the enemies of Your religion

وَاقْصِمْ بِهِ كُلَّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ

wa qsim bihi kulla jabbarin ‘anid

And break, through him, every arrogant tyrant

وَأخْمِدْ بِسَيْفِهِ كُلَّ نَارٍ وَقِيْدٍ

wa akhmid bisayfihi kulla narin wa qiyad

And extinguish, by his sword, every fire and chain

وَأَنْفِذْ حُكْمَهُ فِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ

wa anfidh hukmah fi kulli makan

And execute his judgment everywhere

وَأَقِمْ بِسُلْطَانِهِ كُلَّ سُلْطَانٍ

wa aqim bisultanihi kulla sultan

And uphold his authority over every ruler

وَأَقْمِعْ بِهِ عَبَدَةَ الْأَوْثَانِ

wa aqmi‘ bihi ‘abadat al-awthan

And suppress, through him, the worshippers of idols

وَشَرِّفْ بِهِ أَهْلَ الْقُرْآنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ

wa sharrif bihi ahl al-quran wal-iman

And honor, through him, the people of the Quran and faith

وَأَظْهِرْهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ الْأَدْيَانِ

wa azhirhu ‘ala kulli al-adyan

And manifest him over all religions

وَاكْبِتْ مَنْ عَادَاهُ

wa akbit man ‘adahu

And suppress whoever opposes him

وَأَذِلَّ مَنْ نَاوَاهُ

wa adhilla man nawahu

And humiliate whoever contends with him

وَاسْتَأْصِلْ مَنْ جَحَدَ حَقَّهُ

wa ista’sil man jahada haqqah

And uproot whoever denies his right

وَأَنْكَرَ صِدْقَهُ

wa ankara sidqah

And rejects his truth

وَاسْتَهَانَ بِأَمْرِهِ

wa istahan bi-amrih

And belittles his matter

وَأَرَادَ إِخْمَادَ ذِكْرِهِ

wa arada ikhmad dhikrih

And seeks to extinguish his remembrance

وَسَعَىٰ فِي إِطْفَاءِ نُورِهِ

wa sa‘a fi itfa’i nurih

And strives to put out his light

اَللَّهُمَّ نَوِّرْ بِنُورِهِ كُلَّ ظُلْمَةٍ

Allahumma nawwir binurihi kulla zulmah

O Allah, illuminate every darkness with his light

وَاكْشِفْ بِهِ غُمَّةً

wa akshif bihi ghummatan

And remove every gloom through him

وَقَدِّمْ أَمَامَهُ الرُّعْبَ

wa qaddim amamah ar-ru‘b

And place before him awe and fear

وَثَبِّتْ بِهِ الْقَلْبَ

wa thabbit bihi al-qalb

And strengthen the heart through him

وَأَقِمْ بِهِ نُصْرَةَ الْحَرْبِ

wa aqim bihi nusrat al-harb

And establish through him victory in battle

وَاجْعَلْهُ الْقَائِمَ الْمُؤَمَّلَ

wa aj‘alhu al-qa’ima al-mu’ammala

And make him the awaited one who rises

وَالْوَصِيَّ الْمُفَضَّلَ

wal-wasiyya al-mufaddala

And the preferred successor

وَالْإِمَامَ الْمُنْتَظَرَ

wal-imam al-muntazar

And the awaited Imam

وَالْعَدْلَ الْمُخْتَبَرَ

wal-‘adla al-mukhtabar

And the tested justice

وَامْلَأْ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ عَدْلًا وَقِسْطًا

wa amla’ bihi al-arda ‘adlan wa qistan

And fill the earth with justice and equity through him

كَمَا مُلِئَتْ جَوْرًا وَظُلْمًا

kama muli’at jawran wa zulman

As it was filled with oppression and tyranny

وَأَعِنْهُ عَلَىٰ مَا وَلَّيْتَهُ وَاسْتَخْلَفْتَهُ وَاسْتَرْعَيْتَهُ

wa a‘inhu ‘ala ma wallaytahu wastakhlaftahu wastara‘aytahu

And assist him in what You have entrusted him with, made him successor of, and cared for

حَتَّى تُجْرِيَ حُكْمَهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ حُكْمٍ

hatta tujri hukmah ‘ala kulli hukmin

Until he enforces his rule over every rule

وَيَهْدِي بِحَقِّهِ كُلَّ ضَلَالَةٍ

wa yahdi bihaqqihi kulla dalalah

And guides by his truth every misguidance

وَاحْرُسْهُ اللَّهُمَّ بِعَيْنِكَ الَّتِي لَا تَنَامُ

wa ihrushu Allahumma bi‘aynika allati la tanam

And guard him, O Allah, with Your eye that never sleeps

وَكُنْفِهِ بِرُكْنِكَ الَّذِي لَا يُرَامُ

wa kunfihi biruknika alladhi la yuram

And protect him with Your support that cannot be overcome

وَأَعِزَّهُ بِعِزِّكَ الَّذِي لَا يُضَامُ

wa a‘izzahu bi‘izzika alladhi la yudham

And honor him with Your might that cannot be challenged

وَاجْعَلْنِي يَا إِلٰهِي مِنْ عَدَدِهِ وَمَدَدِهِ

wa aj‘alni ya ilahi min ‘adadihi wa madadihi

And make me, O my God, among his followers and supporters

وَأَنْصَارِهِ وَأَعْوَانِهِ وَأَرْكَانِهِ

wa ansarihi wa a‘wanihi wa arkanihi

And among his helpers, assistants, and pillars

وَأَشْيَاعِهِ وَأَتْبَاعِهِ

wa ashya‘ihi wa atba‘ihi

And among his followers and disciples

وَأَذِقْنِي طَعْمَ فَرْحَتِهِ

wa adhqinī ta‘ma farhatih

And let me taste the joy of his happiness

وَأَلْبِسْنِي ثَوْبَ بَهْجَتِهِ

wa albisni thawba bahjatih

And clothe me in the garment of his delight

وَأَحْضِرْنِي مَعَهُ لِبَيْعَتِهِ وَتَأْكِيدِ عَقْدِهِ

wa ahdirni ma‘ahu libay‘atihi wa ta’kid ‘aqdih

And bring me with him for his allegiance and confirmation of his covenant

بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ وَالْمَقَامِ

bayna ar-rukni wal-maqam

Between the Corner (Ka‘bah) and the Station (Maqam Ibrahim)

عِنْدَ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ

‘inda baytika al-haram

Near Your Sacred House

وَوَفِّقْنِي يَا رَبِّ لِلْقِيَامِ بِطَاعَتِهِ

wa waffiqni ya rabb lil-qiyami bi-ta‘atihi

And grant me success, O Lord, to obey him

وَالْمَثْوَىٰ فِي خِدْمَتِهِ

wal-mathwa fi khidmatih

And to dwell in his service

وَالْمَكْثِ فِي دَوْلَتِهِ

wal-makthi fi dawlatih

And to remain in his dominion

وَاجْتِنَابِ مَعْصِيَتِهِ

wa ijtinabi ma‘sitih

And to avoid disobeying him

فَإِنْ تَوَفَّيْتَنِي اللَّهُمَّ قَبْلَ ذٰلِكَ

fa-in tawaffaytani Allahumma qabl dhalik

If You take my soul before that

فَاجْعَلْنِي يَا رَبِّ فِيْمَنْ يَكِرُّ فِي رَجْعَتِهِ

faj‘alni ya rabb fimin yakirru fi raj‘atihi

Then make me, O Lord, among those who rejoice in his return

وَيَمْلِكُ فِي دَوْلَتِهِ

wa yamliku fi dawlatih

And who possess authority in his state

وَيَتَمَكَّنُ فِي أَيَّامِهِ

wa yatamakkan fi ayyāmih

And who are empowered in his days

وَيَسْتَظِلُّ تَحْتَ أَعْلَامِهِ

wa yastadhillu tahta a‘lamih

And who take shelter under his banners

وَيُحْشَرُ فِي زُمْرَتِهِ

wa yuhsharu fi zumratih

And who are gathered in his company

وَتَقَرُّ بِرُؤْيَتِهِ

wa taqarru bi-ru’yatih

And who find peace in seeing him

بِفَضْلِكَ وَأَحْسَانِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ وَامْتِنَانِكَ

bifadlik wa ahsanik wa karamik wa imtinanik

By Your grace, kindness, generosity, and bounty

إِنَّكَ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ

innaka dhu al-fadl al-‘azim

Indeed, You are the Possessor of great bounty

وَالْمَنِّ الْقَدِيمِ

wal-manni al-qadim

And eternal favor

وَالْإِحْسَانِ الْكَرِيمِ

wal-ihsani al-karim

And noble kindness

ثُمَّ صَلِّ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رَكْعَةً فِي مَكَانِكَ

Thumma salli ithnay ‘ashara rak‘atan fi makanika

Then pray twelve units (rak‘ahs) in your place

وَاقْرَأْ مَا شِئْتَ مِنَ السُّورِ وَأَهْدِهَا إِلَى الإِمَامِ الزَّمَانِ (عَجَّلَ اللَّهُ فَرَجَهُ)

Wa iqra’ ma shi’ta min as-suwar wa ahdiha ila al-imam az-zaman (‘ajjala Allah farajah)

And recite whichever surahs you wish and dedicate them to Imam al-Zaman (may Allah hasten his reappearance)

بَعْدَ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، اقْرَأْ تَسْبِيحَةَ جَنَابِ الزَّهْرَاء (س)

Ba‘da kulli rak‘atayni, iqra’ tasbihat janabi az-Zahra (S)

After every two units, recite the Tasbih of Lady Zahra (peace be upon her)

وَقُلْ:

Wa qul:

And say:

اَللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ وَإِلَيْكَ يَعُودُ السَّلَامُ

Allahumma anta as-Salam wa minka as-Salam wa ilayka ya‘udu as-Salam

O Allah, You are Peace, and from You is peace, and to You returns peace

حَيِّنَا رَبَّنَا مِنْكَ بِالسَّلَامِ

Hayyina rabbana minka bis-salam

Grant us life, our Lord, with peace from You

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الرَّكْعَاتِ هَدِيَّةٌ مِنِّي إِلَى وَلِيِّكَ وَابْنِ وَلِيِّكَ

Allahumma inna hadhihi ar-rak‘at hadiyyatun minni ila waliyyika wa ibni waliyyika

O Allah, these units of prayer are a gift from me to Your guardian and the son of Your guardian

وَابْنِ أَوْلِيَائِكَ، الإِمَامِ ابْنِ الأَئِمَّةِ

Wa ibni awliya’ika, al-imam ibni al-a’immah

And the son of Your saints, the Imam, son of the Imams

الْخَلَفِ الصَّالِحِ الْحُجَّةِ

Al-khalf as-salih al-hujjah

The righteous successor, the proof

صَاحِبِ الزَّمَانِ

Sahib az-zaman

The Master of the Age

فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Fa salli ‘ala Muhammad wa ali Muhammad

So send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

وَبَلِّغْهُ إِيَّاهَا وَأَعْطِنِي أَفْضَلَ أَمَلِي وَرَجَائِي فِيكَ وَفِي رَسُولِكَ

Wa ballighhu iyyaha wa a‘tini afdala amali wa raja’i fika wa fi rasulika

And convey it to him, and grant me the best of hopes and aspirations in You and Your Messenger

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰ آلِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ

Salawatuka ‘alayhi wa ‘ala alihi ajma‘in

Your blessings be upon him and all his family

فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ، وَأَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ، وَأَنْتَ الرَّحِيمُ

Fa innaka anta al-wahhab, wa anta al-ghafur, wa anta ar-rahim

Indeed, You are the Bestower, and You are the Forgiving, and You are the Merciful

وَأَنْتَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ، وَأَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ

Wa anta al-‘aliyyu al-kabir, wa anta al-malik al-quddus

And You are the Most High, the Great, and You are the Sovereign, the Holy

وَأَنْتَ الْمُقْسِطُ، وَأَنْتَ الْحَكِيمُ، وَأَنْتَ الْوَكِيلُ

Wa anta al-muqsit, wa anta al-hakim, wa anta al-wakil

And You are the Just, and You are the Wise, and You are the Trustee

وَأَنْتَ الْمُجِيبُ، وَأَنْتَ الْمُجِيرُ، وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَيِّدُ

Wa anta al-mujib, wa anta al-mujir, wa anta al-mu’ayyad

And You are the Responsive, and You are the Protector, and You are the Supporter

وَأَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ، وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ، وَأَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَبَّارُ

Wa anta al-muqaddim, wa anta al-mu’akhkhir, wa anta al-‘aziz al-jabbar

And You are the One Who advances and delays, and You are the Mighty, the Compeller

وَأَنْتَ الْمُتَعَالِي، وَأَنْتَ الْحَكَمُ الْعَدْلُ

Wa anta al-muta‘ali, wa anta al-hakam al-‘adl

And You are the Most Exalted, and You are the Just Judge

فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ

Fa salli ‘ala Muhammad wa alihi at-tahirin

So send blessings upon Muhammad and his pure family

وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنْ أَنْصَارِهِ وَأَعْوَانِهِ

Wa aj‘alni min ansarihi wa a‘wanihi

And make me among his supporters and helpers

وَمِمَّنْ يَسْتَمِدُّ مِنْهُ الْقُوَّةَ وَالنَّصْرَ

Wa mimman yastamidu minhu al-quwwa wa an-nasr

And among those who derive strength and victory from him

وَالْحِمَايَةَ وَالْعِزَّةَ وَالْمَجْدَ

Wal-himayah wal-‘izza wal-majd

And protection, honor, and glory

وَالْفَوْزَ وَالنَّجَاحَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ

Wal-fawza wan-najah fi ad-dunya wal-akhirah

And success and triumph in this world and the Hereafter

وَأَنْ تُحِبَّنِي وَتُحِبَّنِي فِيْكَ

Wa an tuhibbani wa tuhibbani fika

And that You love me and make me love You

وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي مِنْ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ إِلَيْكَ

Wa an taj‘alani min al-muqarrabin ilayk

And that You make me among those brought near to You

وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَالْفِرْدَوْسِ

Wa an taj‘alani min ahl al-jannah wal-firdaws

And that You make me among the people of Paradise and the highest Garden

وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ مَعَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

Wa an taj‘alani min ahl al-jannah ma‘a ahl bayt nabiyyika Muhammad salawatuka ‘alayhi wa alihi

And that You make me among the people of Paradise with the family of Your Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family

آمِينَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ

Amin ya rabb al-‘alamin

Amen, O Lord of the worlds

آمِينَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ

Amin ya Rabb al-‘Alamin

Amen, O Lord of the Worlds

وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ

Wa salla Allahu ‘ala Muhammad wa alihi ajma‘in

And may Allah’s blessings be upon Muhammad and all his family

وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَىٰ

Wa as-salamu ‘ala ‘ibadihi alladhina istafa

And peace be upon His chosen servants

مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ

Muhammad wa alihi at-tahirin

Muhammad and his pure family

Then kiss the grave and enter humbly crying for surely this is the permission from them, blessings of Allah be on them all.

Ziyaarat of Imam-e-Zamaan (a.t.f.s.) in the Holy Cellar The First Ziyaarat Sayed Ali Ibn Taawoos (may Allah illuminate his grave) says, ‘When you finish with the ziyaarat of the tenth and the eleventh Imams (a.s.), go to the cellar, stand on its door and say:

Then go down placing your right foot first and say:

Then say

After reaching in the cellar, face the Qiblah and say:

Then raise your hands and pray:

Thereafter, pray twelve units of prayers in your place, read whichever surahs you like and gift it to Imam-e-Zamaan (a.t.f.s.). After every two units of prayers, recite the tasbih of Janab-e-Zahra (s.a.) and say:

When you are through with the prayers, recite the supplication famous as ‘The supplication in occultation’, which commences with the following words: اللّهمّ عرِّفنِىْ نفسك فانّك ان لم تعرِّفني نفسك لم أعرف رسولك… which we have mentioned in the deeds of Friday and its eve.

The following form of ziyarah is quoted from the highly esteemed reference books:

You may stop at the gate of the holy vault and say the following words:

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَلِيفةَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayka ya khalifata allahi

Peace be upon you, O vicegerent of Allah

وَخَلِيفَةَ آبَائِهِ ٱلْمَهْدِيِّينَ

wa khalifata aba'ihi almahdiyyina

and vicegerent of your well-guided fathers.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَصِيَّ ٱلأَوْصِيَاءِ ٱلْمَاضِينَ

alssalamu `alayka ya wasiyya al-awsiya'i almadina

Peace be upon you, O successor of the past successors (of the Prophets).

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَافِظَ أَسْرَارِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

alssalamu `alayka ya hafiza asrari rabbi al`alamina

Peace be upon you, O keeper of the secrets of the Lord of the worlds.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَقِيَّةَ ٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلصَّفْوَةِ ٱلْمُنْتَجَبِينَ

alssalamu `alayka ya baqiyyata allahi min alssafwati almuntajabina

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s remainder from among the elite, select ones.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ ٱلأَنْوَارِ ٱلزَّاهِرَةِ

alssalamu `alayka yabna al-anwari alzzahirati

Peace be upon you, O son of the luminous lights.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ ٱلأَعْلاَمِ ٱلْبَاهِرَةِ

alssalamu `alayka yabna al-a`lami albahirati

Peace be upon you, O son of the splendid signs.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ ٱلْعِتْرَةِ ٱلطَّاهِرَةِ

alssalamu `alayka yabna al`itrati alttahirati

Peace be upon you, O son of the immaculate progeny.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَعْدِنَ ٱلْعُلُومِ ٱلنَّبَوِيَّةِ

alssalamu `alayka ya ma`dina al`ulumi alnnabawiyyati

Peace be upon you, O essence of the Prophetic knowledge.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَابَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayka ya baba allahi

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s gate;

ٱلَّذِي لاََ يُؤْتَىٰ إِِلاَّ مِنْهُ

alladhi la yu'ta illa minhu

the only gate from which one can enter to Him.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَبِيلَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayka ya sabila allahi

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s course

ٱلَّذِي مَنْ سَلَكَ غَيْرَهُ هَلَكَ

alladhi man salaka ghayrahu halaka

that perdition will be the result of anyone who takes other than it.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَاظِرَ شَجَرَةِ طُوبَىٰ وَسِدْرَةِ ٱلْمُنْتَهَىٰ

alssalamu `alayka ya nazira shajarati tuba wa sidrati almuntaha

Peace be upon you, O observer of the Tree of Bliss (tuba) and the Farthest Lot-tree.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نُورَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاََ يُطْفَىٰ

alssalamu `alayka ya nura allahi alladhi la yutfa

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s light that never extinguishes.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِي لاََ تَخْفَىٰ

alssalamu `alayka ya hujjata allahi allati la takhfa

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s decisive argument that is never hidden.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayka ya hujjata allahi

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s decisive argument

عَلَىٰ مَنْ فِي ٱلأَرْضِ وَٱلسَّمَاءِ

`ala man fi al-ardi walssama'i

against all those on the earth and in the heavens.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ سَلاَمَ مَنْ عَرَفَكَ بِمَا عَرَّفَكَ بِهِ ٱللَّهُ

alssalamu `alayka salama man `arafaka bima `arrafaka bihi allahu

Peace be upon you; a salutation of one who recognizes you as exactly as Allah has introduced you

وَنَعَتَكَ بِبَعْضِ نُعُوتِكَ

wa na`ataka biba`di nu`utika

and one who mentions only some of your characteristics

ٱلَّتِي أَنْتَ أَهْلُهَا وَفَوْقَهَا

allati anta ahluha wa fawqaha

that you are worthy of and even more.

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ ٱلْحُجَّةُ عَلَىٰ مَنْ مَضَىٰ وَمَنْ بَقِيَ

ashhadu annaka alhujjatu `ala man mada wa man baqiya

I bear witness that you are the argument against the past and the coming generations,

وَأَنَّ حِزْبَكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَالِبُونَ

wa anna hizbaka hum alghalibuna

your party are the true triumphant,

وَأَوْلِيَاءَكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَائِزُونَ

wa awliya'aka hum alfa'izuna

your friends are the true winners,

وَأَعْدَاءَكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَاسِرُونَ

wa a`da'aka hum alkhasiruna

your enemies are truly losers,

وَأَنَّكَ خَازِنُ كُلِّ عِلْمٍ

wa annaka khazinu kulli `ilmin

you are the keeper of the entire knowledge,

وَفَاتِقُ كُلِّ رَتْقٍ

wa fatiqu kulli ratqin

you are the opener of all closed things,

وَمُحَقِّقُ كُلِّ حَقٍّ

wa muhaqqiqu kulli haqqin

you are the establisher of all truths,

وَمُبْطِلُ كُلِّ بَاطِلٍ

wa mubtilu kulli batilin

and you are the eradicator of all wrong things.

رَضِيتُكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ إِِمَاماً وَهَادِياً

radituka ya mawlaya imaman wa hadiyan

O my master, I accept you as my leader, guide,

وَوَلِيّاً وَمُرْشِداً

wa waliyyan wa murshidan

master, and adviser.

لاََ أَبْتَغي بِكَ بَدَلاًَ

la abtaghi bika badalan

I never seek any alternative

وَلاَ أَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُونِكَ وَلِيّاً

wa la attakhidhu min dunika waliyyan

and I never betake myself any master save You.

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ ٱلْحَقُّ ٱلثَّابِتُ

ashhadu annaka alhaqqu alththabitu

I bear witness that you are verily the unchanging truth

ٱلَّذِي لاََ عَيْبَ فِيهِ

alladhi la `ayba fihi

that is free of any defect

وَأَنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ فِيكَ حَقٌّ

wa anna wa`da allahi fika haqqun

and that Allah’s promise concerning you is so true

لاََ أَرْتَابُ لِطُولِ ٱلغَيْبَةِ وَبُعْدِ ٱلأَمَدِ

la artabu lituli alghaybati wa bu`di al-amadi

that I never doubt no matter how long the occultation will take and the time (of your advent) will be far

وَلاَ أَتَحَيَّرُ مَعَ مَنْ جَهِلَكَ وَجَهِلَ بِكَ

wa la atahayyaru ma`a man jahilaka wa jahila bika

and I will never have misgivings like those who ignore you and ignore the truth that you represent

مُنْتَظِرٌ مُتَوَقِّعٌ لأَيَّامِكَ

muntazirun mutawaqqi`un li'ayyamika

and I am waiting and expecting your age,

وَأَنْتَ ٱلشَّافِعُ ٱلَّذِي لاََ تُنَازَعُ

wa anta alshshafi`u alladhi la tunaza`u

for you are the unmatched intercessor

وَٱلْوَلِيُّ ٱلَّذِي لاََ تُدَافَعُ

walwaliyyu alladhi la tudafa`u

and the irrefutable master.

ذَخَرَكَ ٱللَّهُ لِنُصْرَةِ ٱلدِّينِ

dhakharaka allahu linusrati alddini

Allah has saved you for the support of the religion,

وَإِِعْزَازِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa i`zazi almu'minina

for the fortification of the believers,

وَٱلِٱنْتِقَامِ مِنَ ٱلْجَاحِدِينَ ٱلْمَارِقِينَ

walintiqami min aljahidina almariqina

and for retaliating upon the deniers and the apostates.

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ بِوِلاَيَتِكَ تُقْبَلُ ٱلأَعْمَالُ

ashhadu anna biwilayatika tuqbalu al-a`malu

I bear witness that through the loyalty to you, deeds are approved,

وَتُزَكَّىٰ ٱلأَفْعَالُ

wa tuzakka al-af`alu

acts are purified,

وَتُضَاعَفُ ٱلْحَسَنَاتُ

wa tuda`afu alhasanatu

rewards are doubled,

وَتُمْحَىٰ ٱلسَّيِّئَاتُ

wa tumha alssayyi'atu

and punishments for wrongdoings are erased.

فَمَنْ جَاءَ بِوِلاَيَتِكَ

faman ja'a biwilayatika

Therefore, he who bears loyalty to you

وَٱعْتَرَفَ بِإِِمَامَتِكَ

wa`tarafa bi'imamatika

and recognizes your Imamate

قُبِلَتْ أَعْمَالُهُ

qubilat a`maluhu

will have his deeds approved,

وَصُدِّقَتْ أَقْوَالُهُ

wa suddiqat aqwaluhu

his sayings credited,

وَتَضَاعَفَتْ حَسَنَاتُهُ

wa tada`afat hasanatuhu

his rewards doubled,

وَمُحِيَتْ سَيِّئَاتُهُ

wa muhiyat sayyi'atuhu

and his wrongdoings erased;

وَمَنْ عَدَلَ عَنْ وِلاَيَتِكَ

wa man `adala `an wilayatika

while if he rejects loyalty to you,

وَجَهِلَ مَعْرِفَتَكَ

wa jahila ma`rifataka

ignores the recognition of you,

وَٱسْتَبْدَلَ بِكَ غَيْرَكَ

wastabdala bika ghayraka

and follows anyone else,

كَبَّهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَنْخَرِهِ فِي ٱلنَّارِ

kabbahu allahu `ala mankharihi fi alnnari

Allah shall throw him down in Hellfire on the nose,

وَلَمْ يَقْبَلِ ٱللَّهُ لَهُ عَمَلاًَ

wa lam yaqbal allahu lahu `amalan

shall never approve of any of his acts,

وَلَمْ يُقِمْ لَهُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَامَةِ وَزْناً

wa lam yuqim lahu yawma alqiyamati waznan

and shall never set up a balance for him on the Day of Resurrection.

أُشْهِدُ ٱللَّهَ وَأُشْهِدُ مَلاَئِكَتَهُ

ushhidu allaha wa ushhidu mala'ikatahu

I ask Allah and His angels

وَأُشْهِدُكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ بِهٰذَا

wa ushhiduka ya mawlaya bihadha

and you, my master, to testify to this for me;

ظَاهِرُهُ كَبَاطِنِهِ

zahiruhu kabatinihi

the outward of this declaration is as same as its inward,

وَسِرُّهُ كَعَلاَنِيَتِهِ

wa sirruhu ka`alaniyatihi

and its secret is as same as its overtness;

وَأَنْتَ ٱلشَّاهِدُ عَلَىٰ ذٰلِكَ

wa anta alshshahidu `ala dhalika

and you are the witness on this declaration,

وَهُوَ عَهْدِي إِِلَيْكَ

wa huwa `ahdi ilayka

and this is my pledge with you

وَمِيثَاقِي لَدَيْكَ

wa mithaqi ladayka

and my covenant to you

إِِذْ أَنْتَ نِظَامُ ٱلدِّينِ

idh anta nizamu alddini

since you are verily the system of the religion,

وَيَعْسُوبُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

wa ya`subu almuttaqina

the leader of the pious ones,

وَعِزُّ ٱلْمُوَحِّدِينَ

wa `izzu almuwahhidina

and the dignity of the monotheists.

وَبِذٰلِكَ أَمَرَنِي رَبُّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

wa bidhalika amarani rabbu al`alamina

This is the command of the Lord of the Worlds to me.

فَلَوْ تَطَاوَلَتِ ٱلدُّهُورُ

falaw tatawalat aldduhuru

Even if times take longer periods

وَتَمَادَتِ ٱلأَعْمَارُ

wa tamadat al-a`maru

and ages extend,

لَمْ أَزْدَدْ فِيكَ إِِلاَّ يَقِيناً

lam azdad fika illa yaqinan

this will increase in me nothing but more belief in you,

وَلَكَ إِِلاَّ حُبّاً

wa laka illa hubban

love for you,

وَعَلَيْكَ إِِلاَّ مُتَّكَلاًَ وَمُعْتَمَداً

wa `alayka illa muttakalan wa mu`tamadan

reliance on and trust in you,

وَلِظُهُورِكَ إِِلاَّ مُتَوَقِّعاً وَمُنْتَظِراً

wa lizuhurika illa mutawaqqi`an wa muntaziran

anticipation and expectation of your advent,

وَلِجِهَادِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ مُتَرَقِّباً

wa lijihadi bayna yadayka mutaraqqiban

and waiting to strive hard in your presence.

فَأَبْذُلُ نَفْسِي وَمَالِي

fa'abdhul nafsi wa mali

So, I sacrifice myself, my fortune,

وَوَلَدِي وَأَهْلِي

wa waladi wa ahli

my sons, my family members,

وَجَمِيعَ مَا خَوَّلَنِي رَبِّي بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ

wa jami`a ma khawwalani rabbi bayna yadayka

and all that which my Lord has granted me for your sake

وَٱلتَّصَرُّفَ بَيْنَ أَمْرِكَ وَنَهْيِكَ

walttasarrufa bayna amrika wa nahyika

and for obeying your orders and refraining from that which you order me not to do.

مَوْلاَيَ فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتُ أَيَّامَكَ ٱلزَّاهِرَةَ

mawlaya fa'in adraktu ayyamaka alzzahirata

O my master, If I catch your thriving days

وَأَعْلاَمَكَ ٱلْبَاهِرَةَ

wa a`lamaka albahirata

and see your splendid signs,

فَهَا أَنَا ذَا عَبْدُكَ

faha ana dha `abduka

then, here I, a servant of you,

ٱلْمُتَصَرِّفُ بَيْنَ أَمْرِكَ وَنَهْيِكَ

almutasarrifu bayna amrika wa nahyika

am yielding to your orders and abstaining from that which you order me not to do.

أَرْجُو بِهِ ٱلشَّهَادَةَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ

arju bihi alshshahadata bayna yadayka

Through all that, I hope for martyrdom in your presence

وَٱلْفَوْزَ لَدَيْكَ

walfawza ladayka

and success in your view.

مَوْلاَيَ فَإِنْ أَدْرَكَنِيَ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَبْلَ ظُهُورِكَ

mawlaya fa'in adrakani almawtu qabla zuhurika

O my master, but if death comes upon me before your advent,

فَإِنِّي أَتَوَسَّلُ بِكَ

fa'inni atawassalu bika

then I beseech you

وَبِآبَائِكَ ٱلطَّاهِرِينَ إِِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ تَعَالَىٰ

wa bi'aba'ika alttahirina ila allahi ta`ala

and your immaculate fathers to mediate for me before Allah the All-exalted

وَأَسْأَلُهُ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

wa as'aluhu an yusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

Whom I pray to send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَأَنْ يَجْعَلَ لِي كَرَّةً فِي ظُهُورِكَ

wa an yaj`ala li karratan fi zuhurika

and to decide for me a return after your advent

وَرَجْعَةً فِي أَيَّامِكَ

wa raj`atan fi ayyamika

and a second life during your days

لأَبْلُغَ مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ مُرَادِي

li'ablugha min ta`atika muradi

so that I will attain obedience to you, which is my desire,

وَأَشْفِيَ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكَ فُؤَادِي

wa ashfiya min a`da'ika fu'adi

and to heal my heart from your enemies.

مَوْلاَيَ وَقَفْتُ فِي زِيَارَتِكَ

mawlaya waqaftu fi ziyaratika

O my master, while I am visiting you, I am standing

مَوْقِفَ ٱلْخَاطِئِينَ ٱلنَّادِمِينَ

mawqifa alkhati'ina alnnadimina

in the position of the repentant wrongdoers,

ٱلْخَائِفِينَ مِنْ عِقَابِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

alkha'ifina min `iqabi rabbi al`alamina

who fear the chastisement of the Lord of the Worlds

وَقَدِ ٱتَّكَلْتُ عَلَىٰ شَفَاعَتِكَ

wa qad ittakaltu `ala shafa`atika

and I am, meanwhile, depending upon your intercession for me

وَرَجَوْتُ بِمُوَالاَتِكَ وَشَفَاعَتِكَ

wa rajawtu bimuwalatika wa shafa`atika

and I, through my loyalty to you and your intercession for me, wish for

مَحْوَ ذُنُوبِي

mahwa dhunubi

eradication of my sins,

وَسَتْرَ عُيُوبِي

wa satra `uyubi

covering of my defects,

وَمَغْفِرَةَ زَلَلِي

wa maghfirata zalali

and forgiveness of my slips.

فَكُنْ لِوَلِيِّكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ

fakun liwaliyyika ya mawlaya

So, O my master, (please) help me—your servant—

عِنْدَ تَحْقِيقِ أَمَلِهِ

`inda tahqiqi amalihi

to achieve my hope

وَٱسْأَلِ ٱللَّهَ غُفْرَانَ زَلَلِهِ

was'al allaha ghufrana zalalihi

and (please) ask Allah to forgive my slips.

فَقَدْ تَعَلَّقَ بِحَبْلِكَ

faqad ta`allaqa bihablika

Verily, I am clinging to your rope,

وَتَمَسَّكَ بِوِلاَيَتِكَ

wa tamassaka biwilayatika

holding on my loyalty to you,

وَتَبَرَّأَ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكَ

wa tabarra'a min a`da'ika

and declaring my disavowal of your enemies.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa alihi

O Allah, (please) bless Muhammad and his Household

وَأَنْجِزْ لِوَلِيِّكَ مَا وَعَدْتَهُ

wa anjiz liwaliyyika ma wa`adtahu

and fulfill Your promise to Your Vicegerent.

اَللَّهُمَّ أَظْهِرْ كَلِمَتَهُ

allahumma azhir kalimatahu

O Allah, (please) make prevalent his word,

وَأَعْلِ دَعْوَتَهُ

wa a`li da`watahu

elevate his mission,

وَٱنْصُرْهُ عَلَىٰ عَدُوِّهِ وَعَدُوِّكَ

wansurhu `ala `aduwwihi wa `aduwwika

and support him against Your and his enemies,

يَا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

ya rabba al`alamina

O Lord of the Worlds!

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍٍ

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَأَظْهِرْ كَلِمَتَكَ ٱلتَّامَّةَ

wa azhir kalimataka alttammata

and allow Your Perfect Word,

وَمُغَيَّبَكَ فِي أَرْضِكَ

wa mughayyabaka fi ardika

Your concealed one in Your lands,

ٱلْخَائِفَ ٱلْمُتَرَقِّبَ

alkha'ifa almutaraqqiba

the afraid, and the vigilant, to reappear.

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱنْصُرْهُ نَصْراً عَزِيزاً

allahumma insurhu nasran `azizan

O Allah, (please) support him with powerful support

وَٱفْتَحْ لَهُ فَتْحاً يَسِيراً

waftah lahu fathan yasiran

and give him a nigh victory.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَأَعِزَّ بِهِ ٱلدِّينَ بَعْدَ ٱلْخُمُولِ

allahumma wa a`izza bihi alddina ba`da alkhumuli

O Allah, (please) fortify the religion through him after it has been sluggish,

وَأَطْلِعْ بِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ بَعْدَ ٱلأُفُولِ

wa atli` bihi alhaqqa ba`da al-ufuli

demonstrate the truth through him after it has declined,

وَأَجْلِ بِهِ ٱلظُّلْمَةَ

wa ajli bihi alzzulmata

remove darkness through him,

وَٱكْشِفْ بِهِ ٱلْغُمَّةَ

wakshif bihi alghummata

and relieve the grief through him.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَآمِنْ بِهِ ٱلْبِلاَدَ

allahumma wa amin bihi albilada

O Allah, (please) spread security over the lands through him

وَٱهْدِ بِهِ ٱلْعِبَادَ

wahdi bihi al`ibada

and guide the servants (of You) through him.

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱمْلَأْ بِهِ ٱلأَرْضَ عَدْلاًَ وَقِسْطاً

allahumma imla bihi al-arda `adlan wa qistan

O Allah, (please) fill the earth with justice and equality through him

كَمَا مُلِئَتْ ظُلْماً وَجَوْراً

kama muli'at zulman wa jawran

as it is filled with injustice and wrong.

إِِنَّكَ سَمِيعٌ مُجِيبٌ

innaka sami`un mujibun

Verily, You are All-hearing and Responding.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayka ya waliyya allahi

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s vicegerent.

إِئْذَنْ لِوَلِيِّكَ فِي ٱلدُّخُولِ إِلَىٰ حَرَمِكَ

i'dhan liwaliyyika fi alddukhuli ila haramika

(please) permit me, your servant, to enter your sanctuary.

صَلَوَاتُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ

salawatu allahi `alayka

May Allah’s blessings be upon you

وَعَلَىٰ آبَائِكَ ٱلطَّاهِرِينَ

wa `ala aba'ika alttahirina

and upon your immaculate fathers.

وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu

Allah’s mercy and benedictions be upon you.

You may then come to the Occultation Vault and stop between the two doors, holding the door’s side with your hand. You may then hem and haw, as if you are seeking permission of entrance, and say these words:

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحيمِ

bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi

In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

You may now come down with tranquility and present-heartedness. Offer a two-unit prayer in the yard of the vault and say the following words:

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ٱللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ٱللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

allahu akbaru allahu akbaru allahu akbaru

Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great.

لاََ إِِلٰهَ إِِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ

la ilaha illa allahu

There is no god save Allah.

وَٱللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْحَمْدُ

wallahu akbaru wa lillahi alhamdu

Allah is the Most Great and to Allah be all praise.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهٰذَا

alhamdu lillahi alladhi hadana lihadha

All praise be to Allah Who has guided us to this,

وَعَرَّفَنَا أَوْلِيَاءَهُ وَأَعْدَاءَهُ

wa `arrafana awliya'ahu wa a`da'ahu

made us discriminate between His friends and enemies,

وَوَفَّقَنَا لِزِيَارَةِ أَئِمَّتِنَا

wa waffaqana liziyarati a'immatina

granted us success to visit our Imams,

وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعَانِدِينَ ٱلنَّاصِبِينَ

wa lam yaj`alna min almu`anidina alnnasibina

and has not made us of the obdurate antagonists (of the truth),

وَلاَ مِنَ ٱلْغُلاَةِ ٱلْمُفَوِّضِينَ

wa la min alghulati almufawwidina

nor of the immoderate indeterminists,

وَلاَ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْتَابِينَ ٱلْمُقَصِّرِينَ

wa la min almurtabina almuqassirina

nor of the suspicious and negligent.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ وَلِيِّ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنِ أَوْلِيَائِهِ

alssalamu `ala waliyyi allahi wabni awliya'ihi

Peace be upon Allah’s vicegerent and son of His vicegerents.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْمُدَّخَرِ لِكَرَامَةِ أَوْلِيَاءِ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `ala almuddakhari likaramati awliya'i allahi

Peace be upon the one saved for achieving dignity of Allah’s intimate servants

وَبَوَارِ أَعْدَاءِهِ

wa bawari a`da'ihi

and for ruining Allah’s enemies.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلنُّورِ

alssalamu `ala alnnuri

Peace be upon the light

ٱلَّذِي أَرَادَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكُفْرِ إِِطْفَاءَهُ

alladhi arada ahlu alkufri itfa'ahu

that the people of atheism intend to extinguish;

فَأَبَىٰ ٱللَّهُ إِِلاَّ أَنْ يُتِمَّ نُورَهُ بِكُرْهِهِمْ

fa'aba allahu illa an yutimma nurahu bikurhihim

but Allah would not allow but that His light should be perfected, despite their contempt.

وَأَيَّدَهُ بِالْحَيَاةِ

wa ayyadahu bilhayati

He thus supported him with survival

حَتَّىٰ يُظْهِرَ عَلَىٰ يَدِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ بِرَغْمِهِمْ

hatta yuzhira `ala yadihi alhaqqa biraghmihim

so that He shall make prevalent the truth at his hands against their will.

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَاكَ صَغِيراً

ashhadu anna allaha istafaka saghiran

I bear witness that Allah has chosen you since you were little

وَأَكْمَلَ لَكَ عُلُومَهُ كَبِيراً

wa akmala laka `ulumahu kabiran

and perfected His knowledge for you when you grew up;

وَأَنَّكَ حَيٌّ لاََ تَمُوتُ

wa annaka hayyun la tamutu

and that you are alive and you will not die

حَتَّىٰ تُبْطِلَ ٱلْجِبْتَ وَٱلطَّاغُوتَ

hatta tubtila aljibta walttaghuta

before you efface all idols and false deities.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

allahumma salli `alayhi

O Allah, (please) bless him

وَعَلَىٰ خُدَّامِهِ وَأَعْوَانِهِ عَلَىٰ غَيْبَتِهِ وَنَأْيِهِ

wa `ala khuddamihi wa a`wanihi `ala ghaybatihi wa na'yihi

and his servants and those who helped him to occult and hide from sights,

وَٱسْتُرْهُ سَتْراً عَزِيزاً

wasturhu satran `azizan

cover him with invulnerable covering,

وَٱجْعَلْ لَهُ مَعْقِلاًَ حَرِيزاً

waj`al lahu ma`qilan harizan

arrange for him an invincible haven,

وَٱشْدُدِ ٱللَّهُمَّ وَطْأَتَكَ عَلَىٰ مُعَانِدِيهِ

washdud allahumma wat'ataka `ala mu`anidihi

increase, O Allah, Your intensity on those who resist him obdurately,

وَٱحْرُسْ مَوَالِيَهُ وَزَائِرِيهِ

wahrus mawalihi wa za'irihi

and guard his loyalists and visitors.

اَللَّهُمَّ كَمَا جَعَلْتَ قَلْبِي بِذِكْرِهِ مَعْمُوراً

allahumma kama ja`alta qalbi bidhikrihi ma`muran

O Allah, just as You have made my heart full of reference to him,

فَٱجْعَلْ سِلاَحِي بِنُصْرَتِهِ مَشْهُوراً

faj`al silahi binusratihi mashhuran

so also (please) make my weapon prepared in support of him.

وَإِِنْ حَالَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ لِقَائِهِ

wa in hala bayni wa bayna liqa'ihi

If death that You have made inescapable on Your servants

ٱلْمَوْتُ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلْتَهُ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ حَتْماً

almawtu alladhi ja`altahu `ala `ibadika hatman

and You have made inevitably predestined on Your creatures

وَأَقْدَرْتَ بِهِ عَلَىٰ خَلِيقَتِكَ رَغْماً

wa aqdarta bihi `ala khaliqatika raghman

impedes me from meeting him,

فَٱبْعَثْنِي عِنْدَ خُرُوجِهِ

fab`athni `inda khurujihi

then (please) restore me to life at his advent,

ظَاهِراً مِنْ حُفْرَتِي

zahiran min hufrati

coming out from my hole (i.e. grave),

مُؤْتَزِراً كَفَنِي

mu'taziran kafani

and using my shroud as my garment

حَتَّىٰ أُجَاهِدَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

hatta ujahida bayna yadayhi

so that I will fight strivingly in his presence

فِي ٱلصَّفِّ ٱلَّذِي أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ

fi alssaffi alladhi athnayta `ala ahlihi

in the line whose people have been praised by You

فِي كِتَابِكَ فَقُلْتَ:

fi kitabika faqulta

in You Book where You say,

«كَأَنَّهُمْ بُنْيَانٌ مَرْصُوصٌ»

ka'nnahum bunyanun marsusun

“…as if they were a firm and compact wall.”

اَللَّهُمَّ طَالَ ٱلِٱنْتِظَارُ

allahumma tala al-intizaru

O Allah, too long has been the expectation,

وَشَمِتَ مِنَا ٱلْفُجَّارُ

wa shamita bina alfujjaru

the wicked are gloating at our misfortune,

وَصَعُبَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلِٱنْتِصَارُ

wa sa`uba `alayna al-intisaru

and victory has been difficult for us.

اَللَّهُمَّ أَرِنَا وَجْهَ وَلِيِّكَ ٱلْمَيْمُونَ

allahumma arina wajha waliyyika almaymuna

O Allah, (please) show us the blessed face of Your vicegerent

فِي حَيَاتِنَا وَبَعْدَ ٱلْمَنُونِ

fi hayatina wa ba`da almanuni

in our lifetimes and after death.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِِنِّي أَدِينُ لَكَ بِٱلرَّجْعَةِ

allahumma inni adinu laka bilrraj`ati

O Allah, I profess of the Return as my faith

بَيْنَ يَدَيْ صَاحِبِ هٰذِهِ ٱلْبُقْعَةِ

bayna yaday sahibi hadhihi albuq`ati

in the presence of the owner of this area.

الْغَوْثَ ٱلْغَوْثَ ٱلْغَوْثَ

alghawtha alghawtha alghawtha

[I beseech for] Relief, relief, relief.

يَا صَاحِبَ ٱلزَّمَانِ

ya sahiba alzzamani

O Patron of the Age!

قَطَعْتُ فِي وُصْلَتِكَ ٱلْخُلاَّنَ

qata`tu fi wuslatika alkhullana

I have ruptured my relations with many friends in order to build good relations with you,

وَهَجَرْتُ لِزِيَارَتِكَ ٱلأَوْطَانَ

wa hajartu liziyaratika al-awtana

I have deserted my homeland in order to visit you,

وَأَخْفَيْتُ أَمْرِي عَنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْبُلْدَانِ

wa akhfaytu amri `an ahli albuldani

and I have concealed my intention from the peoples of the towns

لِتَكُونَ شَفِيعاً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ وَرَبِّي

litakuna shafi`an `inda rabbika wa rabbi

so that you may be my intercessor with your and my Lord

إِلَىٰ آبَائِكَ وَمَوَالِيَّ

wa ila aba'ika wa mawaliyya

and with your fathers and my masters,

فِي حُسْنِ ٱلتَّوْفِيقِ لِي

fi husni alttawfiqi li

seeking excellence of success,

وِإِِسْبَاغِ ٱلنِّعْمَةِ عَلَيَّ

wa isbaghi alnni`mati `alayya

conferral of bounties,

وَسَوْقِ ٱلإِحْسَانِ إِِلَيَّ

wa sawqi al-ihsani ilayya

and making charitable acts run towards me.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍٍ

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

أَصْحَابِ ٱلْحَقِّ

ashabi alhaqqi

the rightful ones

وَقَادَةِ ٱلْخَلْقِ

wa qadati alkhalqi

and the leaders of the creatures,

وَٱسْتَجِبْ مِنِّي مَا دَعَوْتُكَ

wastajib minni ma da`awtuka

and (please) respond to me in what I have besought You for

وَأَعْطِنِي مَا لَمْ أَنْطِقْ بِهِ فِي دُعَائِي

wa a`tini ma lam antiq bihi fi du`a'i

and grant me all that which I have not mentioned in my prayer,

مِنْ صَلاَحِ دِينِي وَدُنْيَايَ

min salahi dini wa dunyaya

such as the uprightness of my faith and my worldly affairs.

إِِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

innaka hamidun majidun

You are verily worthy of praise and worthy of glory.

وَصَلِّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ ٱلطَّاهِرِينَ

wa salla allahu `ala muhammadin wa alihi alttahirina

May Allah bless Muhammad and his Immaculate Household.

You may then enter the hall, offer a two-unit prayer, and say the following words:

اَللَّهُمَّ عَبْدُكَ ٱلزَّائِرُ

allahumma `abduka alzza'iru

O Allah, I—Your visiting servant—

فِي فِنَاءِ وَلِيِّكَ ٱلْمَزُورِ

fi fina'i waliyyika almazuri

am in the yard of Your visited vicegerent

ٱلَّذِي فَرَضْتَ طَاعَتَهُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْعَبِيدِ وَٱلأَحْرَارِ

alladhi faradta ta`atahu `ala al`abidi wal-ahrari

the obedience to whom has been made obligatory by You on the slaves and the free

وَأَنْقَذْتَ بِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلنَّارِ

wa anqadhta bihi awliya'aka min `adhabi alnnari

and through whom You shall save Your intimate servants from the chastisement of Hellfire.

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱجْعَلْهَا زِيَارَةً مَقْبُولَةً

allahumma ij`alha ziyaratan maqbulatan

O Allah, (please) decide it to be an admitted visitation

ذَاتَ دُعَاءٍ مُسْتَجَابٍ

dhata du`a'in mustajabin

of a granted prayer

مِنْ مُصَدِّقٍ بِوَلِيِّكَ غَيْرِ مُرْتَابٍ

min musaddiqin biwaliyyika ghayri murtabin

from one who gives full credence to Your vicegerent and who never suspects him.

اَللَّهُمَّ لاََ تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ ٱلْعَهْدِ بِهِ وَلاَ بِزِيَارَتِهِ

allahumma la taj`alhu akhira al`ahdi bihi wa la biziyaratihi

O Allah, (please) do not decide this to be the last of my presence and visitation to him

وَلاَ تَقْطَعْ أَثَرِي مِنْ مَشْهَدِهِ

wa la taqta` athari min mashhadihi

and do not cut off my traces in his shrine

وَزِيَارَةِ أَبِيهِ وَجَدِّهِ

wa ziyarati abihi wa jaddihi

and in visitation to his father and grandfather.

اَللَّهُمَّ أَخْلِفْ عَلَيَّ نَفَقَتِي

allahumma akhlif `alayya nafaqati

O Allah, (please) compensate for me my expenditure,

وَٱنْفَعْنِي بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِي

wanfa`ni bima razaqtani

make me benefit from the sustenance that You have provided me

فِي دُنْيَايَ وَآخِرَتِي

fi dunyaya wa akhirati

in my worldly life and in my Next Life,

لِي وَلإِِِخْوَانِي وَأَبَوَيَّ

li wa li'ikhwani wa abawayya

and do the same to my brothers, parents,

وَجَمِيعِ عِتْرَتِي

wa jami`i `itrati

and all of my offspring.

أَسْتَودِعُكَ ٱللَّهَ أَيُّهَا ٱلإِمَامُ

astawdi`uka allaha ayyuha al-imamu

I entrust you with Allah, O Leader

ٱلَّذِي يَفُوزُ بِهِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

alladhi yafuzu bihi almu'minuna

through whom the believers will win

وَيَهْلِكُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ ٱلْكَافِرُونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ

wa yahliku `ala yadayhi alkafiruna almukadhdhibuna

and at whose hands the belying unbelievers will perish.

يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا بْنَ ٱلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

ya mawlaya yabna alhasani bni `aliyyin

O my master! O son of al-Hasan the son of `Ali,

جِئْتُكَ زَائِراً لَكَ وَلأَبِيكَ وَجَدِّكَ

ji'tuka za'iran laka wa li'abika wa jaddika

I have come to you visiting you, your father, and your grandfather,

مُتَيَقِّناً ٱلْفَوْزَ بِكُمْ

mutayaqqinan alfawza bikum

being certain of winning through you,

مُعْتَقِداً إِِمَامَتَكُمْ

mu`taqidan imamatakum

and having full faith in your Imamate.

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱكْتُبْ هٰذِهِ ٱلشَّهَادَةَ وَٱلزِّيَارَةَ لِي

allahumma uktub hadhihi alshshahadata walzziyarata li

O Allah, (please) write down this testimony and visitation to me

عِنْدَكَ فِي عِلِّيِّينَ

`indaka fi `illiyyina

with You in the Most Elevated Place,

وَبَلِّغْنِي بَلاَغَ ٱلصَّالِحِينَ

wa ballighni balagha alssalihina

make me attain that which is attained by the righteous ones,

وَٱنْفَعْنِي بِحُبِّهِمْ يَا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

wanfa`ni bihubbihim ya rabba al`alamina

and make me benefit by my love for them, O Lord of the Worlds.

Ziyarah by Sayyid Ibn Tawus

Another Form of Ziyarah reported by Sayyid Ibn Tawus:

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلْجَدِيدِ

alssalamu `ala alhaqqi aljadidi

Peace be upon the fresh truth

وَٱلْعَالِمِ ٱلَّذِي عِلْمُهُ لاََ يَبِيدُ

wal`alimi alladhi `ilmuhu la yabidu

and the knowledgeable whose knowledge never expires.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ مُحْيِي ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

alssalamu `ala muhyi almu'minina

Peace be upon the reviver of the believers

وَمُبِيرِ ٱلْكَافِرِينَ

wa mubiri alkafirina

and the terminator of the unbelievers.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ مَهْدِيِّ ٱلأُمَمِ

alssalamu `ala mahdiyyi al-umami

Peace be upon the restorer of all nations

وَجَامِعِ ٱلْكَلِمِ

wa jami`i alkalimi

and the combiner of all creeds.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ خَلَفِ ٱلسَّلَفِ

alssalamu `ala khalafi alssalafi

Peace be upon the successor of the ancestors

وَصَاحِبِ ٱلشَّرَفِ

wa sahibi alshsharafi

and the owner of honor.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ حُجَّةِ ٱلْمَعْبُودِ

alssalamu `ala hujjati alma`budi

Peace be upon the argument of the Worshipped (Lord)

وَكَلِمَةِ ٱلْمَحْمُودِ

wa kalimati almahmudi

and the Word of the Praised (Lord).

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ مُعِزِّ ٱلأَوْلِيَاءِ

alssalamu `ala mu`izzi al-awliya'i

Peace be upon the consolidator of the intimate servants (of God)

وَمُذِلِّ ٱلأَعْدَاءِ

wa mudhilli al-a`da'i

and the humiliator of the enemies.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ وَارِثِ ٱلأَنْبِيَاءِ

alssalamu `ala warithi al-anbiya'i

Peace be upon the inheritor of the Prophets

وَخَاتِمِ ٱلأَوْصِيَاءِ

wa khatimi al-awsiya'i

and the seal of the (Prophets’) successors.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْقَائِمِ ٱلْمُنْتَظَرِ

alssalamu `ala alqa'imi almuntazari

Peace be upon the Rising (Imam), the awaited,

وَٱلْعَدْلِ ٱلْمُشْتَهَرِ

wal`adli almushtahari

and the famed establisher of justice.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلسَّيْفِ ٱلشَّاهِرِ

alssalamu `ala alssayfi alshshahiri

Peace be upon the unsheathed sword,

وَٱلْقَمَرِ ٱلزَّاهِرِ

walqamari alzzahiri

the brilliant moon,

وَٱلنُّوُرِ ٱلْبَاهِرِ

walnnuri albahiri

and the dazzling light.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ شَمْسِ ٱلظَّلاَمِ

alssalamu `ala shamsi alzzalami

Peace be upon the sun of darkness

وَبَدْرِ ٱلتَّمَامِ

wa badri alttamami

and the absolutely full moon.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ رَبِيعِ ٱلأَنَامِ

alssalamu `ala rabi`i al-anami

Peace be upon the springtime of humanity

وَنَضْرَةِ ٱلأَيَّامِ

wa nadrati al-ayyami

and the bloom of days.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ صَاحِبِ ٱلصَّمْصَامِ

alssalamu `ala sahibi alssamsami

Peace be upon the holder of sharp sword

وَفَلاَّقِ ٱلْهَامِ

wa fallaqi alhami

and the splitter of heads.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلدِّينِ ٱلْمَأْثُورِ

alssalamu `ala alddini alma'thuri

Peace be upon the long-established faith

وَٱلْكِتَابِ ٱلْمَسْطُورِ

walkitabi almasturi

and the scripture inscribed.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ بَقِيَّةِ ٱللَّهِ فِي بِلاَدِهِ

alssalamu `ala baqiyyati allahi fi biladihi

Peace be upon the left by Allah in His lands

وَحُجَّتِهِ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ

wa hujjatihi `ala `ibadihi

and the argument of Him against His servants

ٱلْمُنْتَهِي إِِلَيْهِ مَوَارِيثُ ٱلأَنْبِيَاءِ

almuntahi ilayhi mawarithu al-anbiya'i

to whom the inheritances of the Prophets end

وَلَدَيْهِ مَوْجوُدٌ آثَارُ ٱلأَصْفِيَاءِ

wa ladayhi mawjudun atharu al-asfiya'i

and with whom the traditions of the elite ones are kept.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْمُؤْتَمَنِ عَلَىٰ ٱلسِّرِّ

alssalamu `ala almu'tamani `ala alssirri

Peace be upon the one entrusted with the secret

وَٱلْوَلِيِّ لِلأَمْرِ

walwaliyyi lil-amri

and the one who shall undertake the mission.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْمَهْدِيِّ

alssalamu `ala almahdiyyi alladhi wa`ada allahu `azza wa jalla bihi al-umama

Peace be upon al-Mahdi (the rightly guided)

ٱلَّذِي وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهِ ٱلأُمَمَ

an yajma`a bihi alkalima

through whom Allah the Almighty and All-majestic promised the nations

أَنْ يَجْمَعَ بِهِ ٱلْكَلِمَ

wa yalumma bihi alshsha`atha

to combine all decrees,

وَيَلُمَّ بِهِ ٱلشَّعَثَ

wa yamla'a bihi al-arda qistan wa `adlan

to bring together all scattered matters,

وَيَمْلَأَ بِهِ ٱلأَرْضَ قِسْطاً وَعَدْلاًَ

wa yumakkina lahu

to fill the earth with fairness and justice,

وَيُمَكِّنَ لَهُ

wa yunjiza bihi wa`da almu'minina

to make possible for him (to win over the all),

وَيُنْجِزَ بِهِ وَعْدَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

ashhadu ya mawlaya

and to fulfill His promise to the believers.

أَشْهَدُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ

annaka wal-a'immata min aba'ika

I bear witness, O my master,

أَنَّكَ وَٱلأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ آبَائِكَ

a'immati wa mawaliyya

that you and the Imams, your fathers,

أَئِمَّتِي وَمَوَالِيَّ

fi alhayati alddunya wa yawma yaqumu al-ashhadu

are my leaders and masters

فِي ٱلْحَيَاةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلأَشْهَادُ

as'aluka ya mawlaya

in this worldly life and on the day when the Witnesses will rise (to witness).

أَسْأَلُكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ

an tas'ala allaha tabaraka wa ta`ala

I thus ask you, O my master,

أَنْ تَسْأَلَ ٱللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ

fi salahi sha'ni

to ask Allah the All-blessed and All-exalted

فِي صَلاَحِ شَأْنِي

wa qada'i hawa'iji

to set aright all my affairs,

وَقَضَاءِ حَوَائِجِي

wa ghufrani dhunubi

to grant me all my needs,

وَغُفْرَانِ ذُنُوبِي

wal-akhdhi biyadi

to forgive my sins,

وَٱلأَخْذِ بِيَدِي

fi dini wa dunyaya wa akhirati

and to lead me rightly

فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَايَ وَآخِرَتِي

li wa li'ikhwani wa akhawati almu'minina walmu'minati kaffatan

in the affairs of my faith, worldly life, and the Next Life,

لِي وَلإِِِخْوَانِي وَأَخَوَاتِي ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ كَافَّةً

innahu ghafurun rahimun

as well as the affairs of my all believing brothers and sisters.

إِِنَّهُ غَفوُرٌ رَحِيمٌ

alssalamu `ala alhaqqi aljadidi

Verily, He is All-forgiving, All-merciful.

You may then offer the twelve-unit prayer of ziyarah, separating between each two units with a Taslim statement (i.e. the last part of prayers). You may then utter the (famous) Tasbih al-Zahra' litany and provide all that as present to the Imam. Upon accomplishment, you may say the following prayer:

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ حُجَّتِكَ فِي أَرْضِكَ

allahumma salli `ala hujjatika fi ardika

O Allah, (please) bless Your Argument in Your land,

وَخَلِيفَتِكَ فِي بِلاَدِكَ

wa khalifatika fi biladika

Your representative in Your countries,

ٱلدَّاعِي إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِكَ

aldda`i ila sabilika

the caller to Your way,

وَٱلْقَائِمِ بِقِسْطِكَ

walqa'imi biqistika

the establisher of Your justice,

وَٱلْفَائِزِ بِأَمْرِكَ

walfa'izi bi'amrika

the winner of Your decree,

وَلِيِّ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

waliyyi almu'minina

the guardian of the believers,

وَمُبِيرِ ٱلْكَافِرِينَ

wa mubiri alkafirina

the terminator of the unbelievers,

وَمُجَلِّي ٱلظُّلْمَةِ

wa mujalli alzzulmati

the eliminator of darkness,

وَمُنِيرِ ٱلْحَقِّ

wa muniri alhaqqi

the illuminator of the truth,

وَٱلصَّادِعِ بِٱلْحِكْمةِ

walssadi`i bilhikmati

the expounder with wisdom,

وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ وَٱلصِّدْقِ

walmaw`izati alhasanati walssidqi

excellent exhortation, and veracity,

وَكَلمَتِكَ وَعَيْبَتِكَ

wa kalimatika wa `aybatika

Your Word, the carrier of Your secrets,

وَعَيْنِكَ فِي أَرْضِكَ

wa `aynika fi ardika

Your Eye in Your lands,

ٱلْمُتَرَقِّبِ ٱلْخَائِفِ

almutaraqqibi alkha'ifi

the vigilant, the afraid,

ٱلْوَلِيِّ ٱلنَّاصِحِ

alwaliyyi alnnasihi

the sincere vicegerent,

سَفِينَةِ ٱلنَّجَاةِ

safinati alnnajati

the ark of salvation,

وَعَلَمِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ

wa `alami alhuda

the pennon of right guidance,

وَنُورِ أَبْصَارِ ٱلْوَرَىٰ

wa nuri absari alwara

the light of the eyes of all creatures,

وَخَيْرِ مَنْ تَقَمَّصَ وَٱرْتَدَىٰ

wa khayri man taqammasa wartada

the best of all those who dress shirts and garments,

وَٱلْوِتْرِ ٱلْمَوْتُورِ

walwitri almawturi

the unique whose folks have not been avenged yet,

وَمُفَرِّجِ ٱلْكُرَبِ

wa mufarriji alkurabi

the reliever of agonies,

وَمُزِيلِ ٱلْهَمَّ

wa muzili alhammi

the remover of distress,

وَكَاشِفِ ٱلْبَلْوَىٰ

wa kashifi albalwa

and the mitigator of ordeals.

صَلَوَاتُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ

salawatu allahi `alayhi

Allah’s blessings be incessantly upon him

وَعَلَىٰ آبَائِهِ ٱلأَئِمَّةِ ٱلْهَادِينَ

wa `ala aba'ihi al-a'immati alhadina

and upon his fathers, the guiding Imams

وَٱلْقَادَةِ ٱلْمَيَامِينِ

walqadati almayamini

and the blessed leaders

مَا طَلَعَتْ كَوَاكِبُ ٱلأَسْحَارِ

ma tala`at kawakibu al-ashari

whenever stars of early dawn rise,

وَأَوْرَقَتِ ٱلأَشْجَارُ

wa awraqat al-ashjaru

trees are furnished with leaves,

وَأَينَعَتِ ٱلأَثْمَارُ

wa ayna`at al-athmaru

fruits are yielded,

وَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱللَّيْلُ وَٱلنَّهَارُ

wakhtalafa allaylu walnnaharu

night and day follow each other,

وغَرَّدَتِ ٱلأَطْيَارُ

wa gharradat al-atyaru

and birds warble.

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱنْفَعْنَا بِحُبِّهِ

allahumma infa`na bihubbihi

O Allah, (please) make us benefit by our love for him

وَٱحْشُرْنَا فِي زُمْرَتِهِ

wahshurna fi zumratihi

and gather us in his group

وَتَحْتَ لِوَائِهِ

wa tahta liwa'ihi

and under his pennon.

إِلٰهَ ٱلْحَقِّ آمِينَ

ilaha alhaqqi amina

O God of Truth, respond.

رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

rabba al`alamina

O Lord of the Worlds!
