Open Ziyarah of Imam Husayn (a) at the Qadr Nights in Shia Companion
Merits
Numerous traditions state the merits of visiting Imam al-Husayn (a) during the month of Ramadan in general, and at the first, fifteenth, and last night of this month in particular, and at the Qadr Nights more specifically.
Imam Muhammad al-Taqi (al-Jawad) is reported to have said, "If one visits al-Husayn (a) at the twenty-third night of Ramadan, which is hoped to be the Qadr Night at which every affair of wisdom is made clear, he will be shaken hands by the spirits of twenty-four thousand prophets, all of whom ask Almighty Allah to permit them to visit al-Husayn (a) at that night."
According to another validly reported tradition, Imam al-Sadiq (a) has said, "At the Qadr Night, a caller from the seventh sky will call out from inside the Divine Throne: verily, Almighty Allah has forgiven anyone who comes to the tomb of al-Husayn."
According to another report, everyone who presents himself at the tomb of Imam al-Husayn (a) at the Qadr Night, offers a two-unit prayer therein (or any number of prayers possible), beseeches Almighty Allah to grant him Paradise, and seeks Him to protect him against Hellfire, then Almighty Allah shall grant him what he has asked for and shall save him from what he has asked Him to protect from.
Ibn Qawlawayh has reported Imam al-Sadiq (a) as saying, "One who is on his way to visit the tomb of al-Husayn ibn 'Ali (a) in the month of Ramadan but dies on the way, he shall be neither stopped for interrogation nor called to account. Moreover, he shall be allowed to enter Paradise without being exposed to horror."
The words by which Imam al-Husayn (a) is visited at the Qadr Night are a form of ziyarah mentioned by Shaykh al-Mufid, Muhammad ibn al-Mashhadi, Ibn Tawus, and al-Shahid — Allah's mercy be upon them all — in their books on forms of ziyarah. They dedicated these forms to the ziyarah at this night and on the two days of 'Id (i.e. 'Id al-Fitr and 'Id al-Azha).
Text and Translation
Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Mashhadi has reported, through considerable chains of authority, that Imam al-Sadiq (a) said the following: if you want to visit Imam al-Husayn (a) at the Qadr Nights, you may come to his holy shrine after you wash yourself and put on the cleanest of your clothes. When you stop at his tomb, face it, making the qiblah direction between your shoulders, and say the following words:
ASSALAAMU A'LAYKA YABNA RASOOLIL LAAH
Peace be upon you, O son of Allah's Messenger,
ASSALAAMU A'LAYKA YABNA AMEERIL MU'MINEEN
peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful,
ASSALAAMU A'LAYKA YABNAS SIDDEEQATIT TAAHIRATI FAATIMATA SAYYIDATI NISAAA-IL A'AALAMEEN
peace be upon you, O son of the veracious, immaculate lady Fatimah, chief of the women of the worlds,
ASSALAAMU A'LAYKA YAA MAWLAAYA YAA ABAA A'BDILLAAHI WA RAHMATULLAAHI WA BARAKAATUH
peace be upon you, O my master, Abu Abdillah, and Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you.

I bear witness that you performed the prayers, defrayed the poor-rate, enjoined the right, forbade the wrong, recited the Book as exactly as it should be recited, strove for the sake of Allah as exactly as striving must be, and faced all troubles steadfastly for His sake, seeking His reward, until death came upon you.

I also bear witness that those who dissented from you, those who fought against you, those who let you down, and those who slew you — all of them were accursed by the tongue of the unlettered Prophet, and he who forges lies indeed fails to attain his desire.
LA-A'NALLAAHUZ ZAALIMEENA LAKUM MINAL AWWALEENA WAL AAKHIREEN WA DAAA-A'FA A'LAYHIMUL A'ZAABAL ALEEM
May Allah curse those who wronged you, from among the past and the present generations, and may He double for them the painful torment.

O my master and son of Allah's Messenger, I have come to you visiting you, acknowledging the standing that you enjoy, declaring my loyalty to those who are loyal to you, renouncing your enemies, seeking to follow the true guidance that you are following, and recognizing the deviation of those who oppose you; so, please intercede for me before your Lord.
You may then throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, put your cheek on it, move yourself towards the place of the head, and say the following words:
ASSALAAMU A'LAYKA YAA HUJJATALLAAHI FEE ARDIHI WA SAMAAA-IH
Peace be upon you, O Argument of Allah in His lands and heavens.
SALLALLAAHU A'LAA ROOHIKAT TAYYIBI WA JASADIKAT TAAHIR, WA A'LAYKAS SALAAMU YAA MAWLAAYA WA RAHMATULLAAHI WA BARAKAATUH
May Allah bless your immaculate spirit and your pure body. Peace, and Allah's mercy and blessings, be upon you, O my master.
You may again throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, put your cheek on it, move yourself towards the place of the head, and offer the two-unit prayer of ziyarah, after which you may offer any possible amount of prayer units. You may then turn to the side of the feet and visit 'Ali ibn al-Husayn, saying:
ASSALAAMU A'LAYKA YAA MAWLAAYA WABNA MAWLAAYA WA RAHMATULLAAHI WA BARAKAATUH, LA-A'NALLAAHU MAN ZALAMAK WA LA-A'NALLAAHU MAN QATALAK WA DAAA-A'FA A'LAYHIMUL A'ZAABAL ALEEM
Peace be upon you, O my master and son of my master, and Allah's mercy and blessings. May Allah curse those who wronged you. May Allah curse those who slew you. May Allah double the painful chastisement for them.
You may then pray to Allah for your personal needs. Then leave your place at the side of the feet towards the qiblah direction in order to visit the martyrs, saying:
ASSALAAMU A'LAYKUM AYYUHAS SIDDEEQOON, ASSALAAMU A'LAYKUM AYYUHASH SHUHADAAA-ISS SAABIROON
Peace be upon you, O veracious ones. Peace be upon you, O steadfast martyrs.
ASH-HADU ANNAKUM JAAHADTUM FEE SABEELILLAAHI WA SABARTUM A'LAL AZAA FEE JAMBILLAAHI WA NASAHTUM LILLAAHI WA LI-RASOOLIHI HATTAA ATAAKUMUL YAQEEN

May Allah reward you with the best reward of the good-doers on behalf of Islam and its people, and may He join us to you in the abode of bliss.
You may then walk to the shrine of al-'Abbas, son of the Commander of the Faithful. When you stop at the gate of the shrine, say the following words:

I bear witness that you strove, acted sincerely, and tolerated harm until death came upon you.
LA-A'NALLAAHUZ ZAALIMEENA LAKUM MINAL AWWALEENA WAL AAKHIREENA WA ALHAQAHUM BI-DARAKIL JAHEEM
May Allah curse those who wronged you, from the past and the present generations, and may He send them to the lowest layer of the blazing Hell.
You may offer there any amount of prayers voluntarily, and then leave.
