Text and Translation

Ziyaarat

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى آدَمَ صِفْوَةِ اللهِ مِنْ خَلِيْقَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA AADAMA SIFWATIL LAAHE MIN KHALEEQATEHI

Peace be upon Adam, the chosen one of Allah from among His creation.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى شَيْثٍ وَلِيِّ اللهِ وَخِيَرَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA SHEESA WALIYIL LAAHE WA KHEYARATEHI

Peace be upon Seth (Shaith), the friend of Allah and His elite.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى اِدْرِيْسَ الْقائِمِ لِلّٰهِ بِحُجَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA IDREESAL QAAEME LILLAAHE BE-HUJJATEHI

Peace be upon Enoch (Idris), who established (religion) on behalf of Allah by His authority.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى نُوْحٍۨ الْمُجَابِ فِيْ دَعْوَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA NOOHENIL MOJAABE FEE DA’WATEHI

Peace be upon Noah (Nuh), whose invocation (for punishment) was answered.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى هُوْدٍۨ الْمَمْدُوْدِ مِنَ اللهِ بِمَعُونَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA HOODENIL MAMDOODE MENAL LAAHE BE-MA-O’ONATEHI

Peace be upon Hud, who was assisted through Allah’s aid.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى صَالِحِ الَّذِيْ تَوَّجَهُ اللهُ بِكَرامَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA SALEHENIL LAZEE TAWWAJAHUL LAAHO BE-KARAAMATEHI

Peace be upon Salih, whom Allah crowned with His generosity.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى اِبْرَاهِيْمَ الَّذِيْ حَبَاهُ اللهُ بِخُلَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA IBRAHIMAL LAZEE HABAAHUL LAAHO BE-KHULLATEHI

Peace be upon Abraham (Ibrahim), whom Allah endowed with His friendship.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى اِسْمَاعِيْلَ الَّذِيْ فَدَاهُ اللهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيْمٍ مِنْ جَنَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA ISMAE’ELAL LAZEE FADAAHUL LAAHO BE-ZIBHIN A’ZEEMIM MIN JANNATEHI

Peace be upon Ishmael (Isma’il), whom Allah ransomed with a great sacrifice from His Heaven.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى اِسْحَاقَ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ اللهُ النُّبُوَّةَ فِيْ ذُرِّيَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA ISHAAQAL LAZEE JAA’LAL LAAHUN NOBUWWATA FEE ZURRIYATEHI

Peace be upon Isaac (Is’haq), in whose progeny Allah placed prophethood.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى يَعْقُوْبَ الَّذِيْ رَدَّ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ بَصَرَهٗ بِرَحْمَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA YA’QOOBAL LAZEE RADDAL LAAHO A’LAIHE BASARAHU BE-REHMATEHI

Peace be upon Jacob (Ya’qub), for whom Allah restored his sight by His mercy.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى يُوْسُفَ الَّذِيْ نَجَّاهُ اللهُ مِنَ الْجُبِّ بِعَظَمَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA YUSUFAL LAZEE NAJAAHUL LAAHO MENAL JUBBE BE-A’ZAMATEHI

Peace be upon Joseph (Yusuf), whom Allah rescued from the well by His majesty.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مُوسَى الَّذِيْ فَلَقَ اللهُ الْبَحْرَ لَهٗ بِقُدْرَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MUSAL LAZEE FALAQAL LAAHUL BAHRA LAHU BE-QUDRATEHI

Peace be upon Moses (Musa), the one for whom Allah split the sea with His Power.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى هَارُوْنَ الَّذِيْ خَصَّهُ اللهُ بِنُبُوَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA HAARUNAL LAZEE KHASSAHUL LAAHO BE-NOBUWWATEHI

Peace be upon Aaron (Harun), whom Allah distinguished with his prophethood.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى شُعَيْبٍۨ الَّذِيْ نَصَرَهُ اللهُ عَلٰى اُمَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA SHOA’IBENIL LAZEE NASARAHUL LAAHO A’LAA UMMATEHI

Peace be upon Jethro (Shu’aib), whom Allah made victorious over his people.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى دَاوٗدَ الَّذِيْ تابَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَطِيْئَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA DAWOODAL LAZEE TAABAL LAAHO A’LAIHE MIN KHATEEATEHI

Peace be upon Dawood, to whom Allah turned (in mercy) after his mistake.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى سُلَيْمَانَ الَّذِيْ ذَلَّتْ لَهٗ الْجِنُّ بِعِزَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA SULAIMAANAL LAZEE ZALLAT LAHUL JINNO BE-I’ZZATEHI

Peace be upon Sulaiman, for whom Allah made the Jinn subservient by His majesty.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى اَيُّوْبَ الَّذِيْ شَفاهُ اللهُ مِنْ عِلَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA AYYOOBAL LAZEE SHAFAHUL LAAHO MIN I’LLATEHI

Peace be upon Ayyub, whom Allah cured after his (prolonged) illness.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى يُوْنُسَ الَّذِيْ اَنْجَزَ اللهُ لَهٗ مَضْمُوْنَ عِدَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA YOONOSAL LAZEE ANJAZAL LAAHO MAZMOONA E’DATEHI

Peace be upon Yunus, for whom Allah fulfilled the purport of His promise.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى عُزَيْرٍۨ الَّذِيْ اَحْيَاهُ اللهُ بَعْدَ مَيْتَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA OZAIRENIL LAZEE AHYAHUL LAAHO BA’DA MAYTATEHI

Peace be upon Uzair, whom Allah brought to life after his death.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى زَكَرِيَّا الصَّابِرِ فِيْ مِحْنَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA ZAKARIYAS SAABERE FEE MEHNATEHI

Peace be upon Zakariyya, who remained patient in his tribulations.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى يَحْيٰى الَّذِيْ اَزْلَفَهُ اللهُ بِشَهَادَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA YAHYAL LAZEE AZLAFAHUL LAAHO BE-SHAHADATEHI

Peace be upon Yahya, whom Allah drew near (his rank) by his martyrdom.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى عِيْسٰى رُوْحِ اللهِ وَكَلِمَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA E’ESAA RUHIL LAAHE WA KALEMATEHI

Peace be upon Isa, the spirit of Allah and His word.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِيْبِ اللهِ وَصِفْوَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MOHAMMADIN HABEEBIL LAAHE WA SAFWATEHI

Peace be upon Muhammad, the beloved of Allah and His elite.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى اَمِيْرِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ اَبِيْ طَالِبٍ الْمَخْصُوْصِ بِاُخُوَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA AMEERIL MOMINEENA A’LI IBNE ABI TAALEBENIL MAKHSOOSE BE-OKHOOWATEHI

Peace be upon the Leader of the Faithful, Ali Ibn Abi Talib, who was exclusively selected for brotherhood to him (the Prophet (s.a.w.a.)).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ ابْنَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA FAATEMATAZ ZAHRAAE IBNATEHI

Peace be upon Fatima al-Zahra, his daughter.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى اَبِيْ مُحَمَّدٍۨ الْحَسَنِ وَصِيِّ اَبِيْهِ وَخَلِيْفَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA ABI MOHAMMADENIL HASANE WASIYYE ABIHE WA KHALEEFATEHI

Peace be upon Abu Muhammad al-Hasan, the executor of (the will of) his father, and his successor.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ الَّذِيْ سَمَحَتْ نَفْسُهٗ بِمُهْجَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL HUSAYNIL LAZEE SAMEHAT NAFSOHU BE-MOHJATEHI

Peace be upon al-Husain, who sacrificed himself up to the last drops of the blood of his heart.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ اَطَاعَ اللهَ فِيْ سِرِّهٖ وَعَلانِيَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN ATAA-A’L LAAHA FI SIRREHI WA A’LAANEYATEHI

Peace be upon him, who obeyed Allah secretly and openly.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ جَعَلَ اللهُ الشِّفَاءَ فِيْ تُرْبَتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN JOE’LASH SHEFAA-O FI TURBATEHI

Peace be upon whom Allah placed a cure in the soil of his place (of martyrdom).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنِ الْاِجَابَةُ تَحْتَ قُبَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MANIL EJAABATO TAHTA QUBBATEHI

Peace be upon the one under whose dome answer (to supplications) is guaranteed.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنِ الْاَئِمَّةُ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهٖ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MANIL AI’MMATO MIN ZURRIYATEHI

Peace be upon the one in whose descendants are the Imams (after him).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى ابْنِ خاتَمِ الْاَنْبِيَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LA-BNE KHAATAMIL AMBIYAAE

Peace be upon the son of the seal of the prophets.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى ابْنِ سَيِّدِ الْاَوْصِيَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LA-BNE SAYYEDIL AWSEYAAE

Peace be upon the son of the chief of the executors.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى ابْنِ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LA-BNE FATEMATAZ ZAHRAAE

Peace be upon the son of Fatima, the radiant.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى ابْنِ خَدِيْجَةَ الْكُبْرٰى

ASSALAAMO A’LA-BNE KHADIJATAL KUBRAA

Peace be upon the son of Khadija, the great.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى ابْنِ سِدْرَةِ الْمُنْتَهٰى

ASSALAAMO A’LAA SIDRATIL MUNTAHA

Peace be upon the son of the lote-tree in the outermost boundary (of Heaven).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى ابْنِ جَنَّةِ الْمَأْوٰى

ASSALAAMO A’LA-BNE JANNATIL MAAWAA

Peace be upon the son of the Garden of refuge.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى ابْنِ زَمْزَمَ وَالصَّفَا

ASSALAAMO A’LA-BNE ZAMZAMA WAS SAFAA

Peace be upon the son of Zamzam and al-Safaa.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُرَمَّلِ بِالدِّمَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MARAMMALE BIDDEMAAE

Peace be upon him, who was saturated in (his) blood.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَهْتُوْكِ الْخِبَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MAHTOOKIL KHEBAAE

Peace be upon him, whose tents were violated.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى خَامِسِ اَصْحابِ الْكِسَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA KHAAMESE ASHAABE AHLIL KISAAE

Peace be upon the fifth of the People of the Cloak.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى غَرِيْبِ الْغُرَبَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA GHARIBIL GHORABAAE

Peace be upon the loneliest of the lonely.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى شَهِيْدِ الشُّهَدَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA SHAHEEDISH SHOHADAAE

Peace be upon the (greatest) martyr of all martyrs.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى قَتِيْلِ الْاَدْعِيَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA QATEELIL AD-E’YAAE

Peace be upon him, who was slain by the individuals of illegitimate birth.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى سَاكِنِ كَرْبَلَاءَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA SAAKENE KARBALAAE

Peace be upon the one who is at rest in Karbala.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ بَكَتْهُ مَلَائِكَةُ السَّمَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN BAKATHO MALAEKATUS SAMAAE

Peace be upon the one for whom the heavenly Angels wept.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ الْاَزْكِيَاءُ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN ZURRIYATOHUL AZKEYAAO

Peace be upon the one whose descendants are the pure.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى يَعْسُوْبِ الدِّيْنِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA YA’SOOBID DEEN

Peace be upon the chief of the religion.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنازِلِ الْبَرَاهِيْنِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MANAAZELIL BARAAHEEN

Peace be upon the places of the (divine) proofs.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْاَئِمَّةِ السَّادَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL AI’MMATIS SAADAATE

Peace be upon the Imams, the masters (of mankind).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْجُيُوْبِ الْمُضَرَّجَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL JUYOOBIL MOZARRAJAATE

Peace be upon the bloodstained chests.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الشِّفَاهِ الذَّابِلَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LASH SHEFAHIZ ZAABELAATE

Peace be upon the parched lips.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى النُّفُوْسِ الْمُصْطَلَمَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAN NOFOOSIL MUSTALEMAATE

Peace be upon the plucked souls.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْاَرْوَاحِ الْمُخْتَلَسَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL ARWAHIL MUKHTALESAATE

Peace be upon the snatched spirits.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْاَجْسَادِ الْعَارِيَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL AJSAADIL A’AREYAATE

Peace be upon the stripped corpses.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْجُسُوْمِ الشَّاحِبَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL JUSOOMISH SHAAHEBAATE

Peace be upon the pallid bodies.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الدِّمَاءِ السَّائِلَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAD DEMAAIS SAAELAATE

Peace be upon the gushing bloods.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْاَعْضَاءِ الْمُقَطَّعَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL AA’ZAAIL MUQATTA-AA’TE

Peace be upon the dismembered limbs.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرُّؤُوْسِ الْمُشَالَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAR RO-OOSIL MOSHAALAATE

Peace be upon the heads raised upon lances.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى النِّسْوَةِ الْبَارِزَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAN NISWATIL BAAREZAATE

Peace be upon the women (forcibly) exposed.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى حُجَّةِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA HUJJATE RABBIL A’ALAMEENA

Peace be upon the Proof of the Lord of the worlds.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلٰى آبَائِكَ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA WA A’LAA AABAAEKAT TAAHEREEN

Peace be upon you and upon your pure ancestors.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلٰى اَبْنَائِكَ الْمُسْتَشْهَدِيْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA WA A’LAA ABNAAEKAL MUSTASHHADEENA

Peace be upon you and upon your martyred sons.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلٰى ذُرِّيَّتِكَ النَّاصِرِيْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA WA A’LAA ZURRIYATEKAN NAASEREENA

Peace be upon you and upon your children who aided (you).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُضَاجِعِيْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA WA A’LAL MALAAEKATIL MUZAAJEI’N

Peace be upon you and upon the accompanying Angels.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْقَتِيْلِ الْمَظْلُوْمِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL QATEELIL MAZLOOME

Peace be upon the slain and the oppressed one.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى اَخِيْهِ الْمَسْمُوْمِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA AKHEEHIL MASMOOME

Peace be upon his poisoned brother (Imam al-Hasan).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى عَلِيٍّ الْكَبِيْرِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA A’LIYYENIL KABEERE

Peace be upon Ali, the elder (Ali al-Akbar).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّضِيْعِ الصَّغِيْرِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAR RAZEEIS SAGHEERE

Peace be upon the suckling infant (Ali al-Asghar).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْاَبْدَانِ السَّلِيْبَةِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL ABDAANIS SALEEBATE

Peace be upon the plundered bodies.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْعِتْرَةِ الْقَرِيْبَةِ [الْغَرِيْبَةِ]

ASSALAAMO A’LAL ITRATIL QAREEBATE

Peace be upon the family and children who were nearby (the place of martyrdom) [who were without support among strangers].

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُجَدَّلِيْنَ فِي الْفَلَوَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MIJDALEEENA FIL FALAWAATE

Peace be upon the mangled corpses (left) in the desert.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى النَّازِحِيْنَ عَنِ الْاَوْطَانِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAN NAAZEHEENA A’NIL AWTAANE

Peace be upon those who were left far from their homeland.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَدْفُوْنِيْنَ بِلَا اَكْفَانِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MADFUNEENA BELAA AKFAANE

Peace be upon those who were buried without shrouds.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرُّؤُوْسِ الْمُفَرَّقَةِ عَنِ الْاَبْدَانِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAR RO-OOSIL MUFARRAQATE A’NIL ABDAANE

Peace be upon the heads severed from the bodies.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُحْتَسِبِ الصَّابِرِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MOHTASEBIS SAABERE

Peace be upon the bereaved and the patient one.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَظْلُوْمِ بِلَا نَاصِرٍ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MAZLOOME BELA NAASEREEN

Peace be upon the oppressed one who was without a helper.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى سَاكِنِ التُّرْبَةِ الزَّاكِيَةِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA SAAKENIT TURBATIZ ZAAKEYATE

Peace be upon the inhabitant of the purified soil.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى صَاحِبِ الْقُبَّةِ السَّامِيَةِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA SAAHEBIL QUBBATIS SAAMEYATE

Peace be upon the possessor of the lofty dome.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ طَهَّرَهُ الْجَلِيْلُ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN TAHHARAHUL JALEELO

Peace be upon him, whom the Almighty purified.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنِ افْتَخَرَ بِهٖ جَبْرَئِيْلُ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MANIF TAKHARA BEHI JIBRAEELO

Peace be upon him, of whom Gabriel (Jabra’il) was proud.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ نَاغَاهُ فِي الْمَهْدِ مِيْكَائِيْلُ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN NAAGHAAHO FIL MAHDE MIKAAEELO

Peace be upon the one to whom Michael (Mika’il) spoke tenderly in the cradle.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ نُكِثَتْ ذِمَّتُهٗ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN NOKESAT ZIMMATOHU

Peace be upon the one whose pact was broken.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ هُتِكَتْ حُرْمَتُهٗ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN HOTEKAT HURMATOHU

Peace be upon the one whose rights and dignity were violated.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ اُرِيْقَ بِالظُّلْمِ دَمُهٗ

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN OREEQA BIZZULME DAMOHU

Peace be upon the one whose blood was shed unjustly.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُغَسَّلِ بِدَمِ الْجِرَاحِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MUGHASSALE BEDAMIL JORAAHE

Peace be upon the one who was bathed in the blood of his wounds.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُجَرَّعِ بِكَأْسَاتِ الرِّمَاحِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MUJADDAE’ BE-KAASAATIR REMAAHE

Peace be upon the one who tasted the spears raining down over his body.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُضَامِ الْمُسْتَبَاحِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MUZAAMIL MUSTABAAHE

Peace be upon the one against whom people came together and made lawful the shedding of his blood.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَنْحُوْرِ فِي الْوَرٰى

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MANHOORE FIL WARAA

Peace be upon the one slaughtered in public.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مَنْ دَفَنَهٗ اَهْلُ الْقُرٰى

ASSALAAMO A’LAA MAN DAFANAHU AHLUL QORAA

Peace be upon the one who was buried by the strangers from (nearby) villages.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَقْطُوعِ الْوَتِيْنِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MAQTUI’L WATEENE

Peace be upon the one whose aorta was severed.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُحَامِيْ بِلَا مُعِيْنِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL MUHAAMAA BELAA MOE’ENE

Peace be upon the defender who had no helper.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الشَّيْبِ الْخَضِيْبِ

ASSALAAMO A’LASH SHAYBIL KHAZEEBE

Peace be upon the grey hair that was dyed (with blood).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْخَدِّ التَّرِيْبِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL KHADDIT TAREEBE

Peace be upon the cheek that struck the dust.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْبَدَنِ السَّلِيْبِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL BADANIS SALEEBE

Peace be upon the butchered body.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الثَّغْرِ الْمَقْرُوْعِ بِالْقَضِيْبِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAS SAGHRIL MAQRUE’ BIL QAZEEBE

Peace be upon the front teeth that were beaten with a rod.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّأْسِ الْمَرْفُوْعِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAR RAASIL MARFOOE’

Peace be upon the head raised (upon a lance).

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْاَجْسَامِ الْعَارِيَةِ فِي الْفَلَوَاتِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAL AJSAAMIL A’AREYATE FIL FALAWAATE

Peace be upon the unclothed corpses in the desert,

تَنْهَشُهَا الذِّئَابُ الْعَادِيَاتُ

TANHASHOHAAZ ZEAABUL A’ADEYAATO

bitten by wild wolves

وَتَخْتَلِفُ اِلَيْهَا السِّبَاعُ الضَّارِيَاتُ

WA TAKHTALEFO ELAYHAS SEBAAU’Z ZAAREYAATO

and around whom the beasts of prey prowled.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يا مَوْلَايَ وَعَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمَرْفُوْفِيْنَ حَوْلَ قُبَّتِكَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA MAWLAAYA WA A’LAL MALAAAEKATIL MARFOOFEENA HAULA QUBBATEKAL

Peace be upon you, O my master, and the Angels who flutter around your dome,

الْحَافِّيْنَ بِتُرْبَتِكَ الطَّائِفِيْنَ بِعَرْصَتِكَ الْوَارِدِيْنَ لِزِيَارَتِكَ

HAAFFEENA BE-TURBATEKAT TAAEFEENA BE-A’RSATEKAL WAAREDEENA LE-ZEYAARATEKA

surround your grave, circumambulate your courtyard, and come for your visitation.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ فَاِنِّيْ قَصَدْتُ اِلَيْكَ وَرَجَوْتُ الْفَوْزَ لَدَيْكَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA FA INNEE QASADTO ELAYKA WA RAJAWTUL FAUZA LADAYKA

Peace be upon you! Indeed, I intended your visitation, and I am hopeful of achieving the prosperity that is with you.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA

Salutations to you,

سَلَامَ الْعَارِفِ بِحُرْمَتِكَ الْمُخْلِصِ فِيْ وِلَايَتِكَ الْمُتَقَرِّبِ اِلَى اللهِ بِمَحَبَّتِكَ الْبَرِيْءِ مِنْ اَعْدَائِكَ

SALAAMAL A’AREFE BE-HURMATEKAL MUKHLESE FEE WELAAYATEKAL MOTAQARREBE ILALLAHE BE-MAHABBATEKAL BAREE-E MIN AA’DAAEKA

Salutations from he who recognizes your sanctity, is a sincere (believer) in your guardianship, seeks nearness to Allah through your love, and is aloof from your enemies,

سَلَامَ مَنْ قَلْبُهٗ بِمُصَابِكَ مَقْرُوْحٌ

SALAAMA MAN QALBOHU BEMOSAABEKA MAQRUHUN

Salutations from the one whose heart is wounded due to the tribulations you have suffered,

وَدَمْعُهٗ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِكَ مَسْفُوْحٌ

WA DAM-O’HU I’NDA ZIKREKA MASFOOHUN

and whose tears flow in your remembrance,

سَلَامَ الْمَفْجُوعِ الْحَزِيْنِ الْوَالِهِ الْمُسْتَكِيْنِ

SALAAMAL MAZJOOI’L HAZEENIL WAALEHIL MUSTAKEENE

Salutations from the one who is distressed, grief-stricken, distracted, and yielding,

سَلَامَ مَنْ لَوْ كَانَ مَعَكَ بِالطُّفُوْفِ

SALAAMA MAN LAW KAANA MA-A’KA BITTOFOOFE

Salutations from the one, who, had he been present with you in that plain,

لَوَقَاكَ بِنَفْسِهٖ حَدَّ السُّيُوْفِ

LAWAQAAKA BENAFSEHI HADDAS SOYOOFE

would have shielded you from the sharpness of the swords with his body

وَبَذَلَ حُشَاشَتَهٗ دُوْنَكَ لِلْحُتُوْفِ

WA BAZALA HOSHAASHATAHU DOONAKA LIL-HOTOOFE

and sacrificed his last breath for you,

وَجَاهَدَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَنَصَرَكَ عَلٰى مَنْ بَغٰى عَلَيْكَ وَفَدَاكَ بِرُوْحِهٖ وَجَسَدِهٖ وَمَالِهٖ وَوَلَدِهٖ

WA JAAHADA BAYNA YADAYKA WA NASARAKA A’LAA MAN BAGHAA A’LAYKA WA FADAAKA BE-ROOHEHI WA JASADEHI WA MAALEHI WA WALADEHI

would have struggled beside you, helped you against the aggressors, and redeemed you with his soul, body, wealth, and children,

وَرُوْحُهٗ لِرُوْحِكَ فِدَاءٌ

WA ROOHOHU LEROOHEKA FEDAAUN

(Salutations from the one) whose soul is a sacrifice for yours,

وَاَهْلُهٗ لِاَهْلِكَ وِقَاءٌ

WA AHLOHU LE-AHLEKA WEQAAUN

and whose family is a shield for yours.

فَلَئِنْ اَخَّرَتْنِي الدُّهُوْرُ وَعَاقَنِيْ عَنْ نَصْرِكَ الْمَقْدُوْرُ

FALAIN AKKHARAT-NID DOHOORO WA A’AQANEE A’N NASREKAL MAQDOORO

But as I have been hindered by the course of time and as (Allah’s) decree has prevented me from helping you,

وَلَمْ اَكُنْ لِمَنْ حارَبَكَ مُحَارِبًا وَلِمَنْ نَصَبَ لَكَ الْعَدَاوَةَ مُناصِبًا

WA LAM AKUN LEMAN HAARABAKA MOHAAREBAN WA LEMAN NASABA LAKAL A’DAAWATA MONAASEBAN

and as I could not fight those who fought you, and was not able to show hostility to those who showed hostility to you,

فَلَاَنْدُبَنَّكَ صَبَاحًا وَمَسَاءً وَلَاَبْكِيَنَّ لَكَ بَدَلَ الدُّمُوْعِ دَمًا حَسْرَةً عَلَيْكَ وَتَاَسُّفًا عَلٰى مَا دَهَاكَ وَتَلَهُّفًا

FALA ANDOBANNAKA SABAAHAN WA MASAA-AN WA LA-ABKEYANNA LAKA BADALAD DOMUE’ DAMAN HASRATAN A’LAYKA WA TA-ASSOFAN A’LAA MAA DAHAAKA WA TALAHHOFAN

I will, therefore, lament you morning and evening, and will weep blood in place of tears, out of my anguish for you and my sorrow for all that befell you,

حَتّٰى اَمُوْتَ بِلَوْعَةِ الْمُصَابِ وَغُصَّةِ الْاِكْتِيَابِ

HATTAA AMOOTA BE-LAUA’TIL MOSAABE WA GHUSSATIL IKTEYAABE

until I meet death from the pain of the catastrophe and the choking grief.

اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ قَدْ اَقَمْتَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتَيْتَ الزَّكٰوةَ

ASH-HADO ANNAKA QAD AQAMTAS SALAATA WA AATAYTAZ ZAKAATA

I bear witness that you certainly established prayer, gave alms,

وَاَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَنَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ

WA AMARTA BIL-MA’ROOFE WA NAHAYTA A’NIL MUNKARE WAL UDWAANE

enjoined good, forbade evil and transgression,

وَاَطَعْتَ اللهَ وَمَا عَصَيْتَهٗ وَتَمَسَّكْتَ بِهٖ وَبِحَبْلِهٖ

WA ATA’TAL LAAHA WA MAA A’SAYTAHU WA TAMASSAKTA BEHI WA BE-HABLEHI

obeyed Allah, never disobeyed Him, and held fast to Him and to His rope.

فَاَرْضَيْتَهٗ وَخَشَيْتَهٗ وَرَاقَبْتَهٗ وَاسْتَجَبْتَهٗ

FA-ARZAYTAHU WA KHASHAYTAHU WA RAAQABTAHU WAS TAJABTAHU

Then, you pleased Him, held Him in awe, were attentive towards Him, and were responsive to Him,

وَسَنَنْتَ السُّنَنَ وَاَطْفَأْتَ الْفِتَنَ

WA SANANTAS SONANA WA ATFAATAL FETANA

established the customs (of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.)), extinguished turmoil (in religion),

وَدَعَوْتَ اِلَى الرَّشَادِ وَاَوْضَحْتَ سُبُلَ السَّدَادِ وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي اللهِ حَقَّ الْجِهَادِ

WA DA-A’WTA ELAR RESHAADE WA AWZAHTA SOBOLAS SEDAADE WA JAAHADTA FILLAAHE HAQQAL JEHAADE

invited people to rectitude, clarified the ways of righteousness, and truly strove in the way of Allah.

وَكُنْتَ لِلّٰهِ طَائِعًا

WA KUNTA LILLAAHE TAAEA’N

You were an obedient one to Allah,

وَلِجَدِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ تَابِعًا

WA LEJADDEKA MOHAMMADIN SALLAL LAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHI TAABEA’N

a follower of your grandfather, Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family,

وَلِقَوْلِ اَبِيْكَ سَامِعًا

WA LE-QAULE ABEEKA SAAMEA’N

heedful of the saying of your father,

وَاِلٰى وَصِيَّةِ اَخِيْكَ مُسَارِعًا

WA ELA WASIYYATE AKHEEKA MOSAAREA’N

quick to execute the will of your brother,

وَلِعِمَادِ الدِّيْنِ رَافِعًا وَلِلطُّغْيَانِ قَامِعًا

WA LE-E’MAADIDDEENE RAAFEA’N WA LIT-TUGHYAANE QAAME-A’N

an erector of the pillars of the religion, a suppressor of tyranny,

وَلِلطُّغَاةِ مُقَارِعًا وَلِلْاُمَّةِ نَاصِحًا

WA LIT-TOGHAATE MOQAAREAN WA LIL-UMMATE NAASEHAN

an advancer on the transgressors, and a sincere exhorter for the nation,

وَفِيْ غَمَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ سَابِحًا

WA FEE GHAMARAATIL MAWTE SAABEHAN

a traveler into mortal throes,

وَلِلْفُسَّاقِ مُكَافِحًا وَبِحُجَجِ اللهِ قَائِمًا

WA LIL-FUSSAAQE MUKAAFEHAN WA BE-HOJJAJIL LAAHE QAAEMAN

a warrior against the wretched, and a maintainer of Allah’s proofs (on earth),

وَلِلْاِسْلَامِ وَالْمُسْلِمِيْنَ رَاحِمًا

WA LIL-ISLAAME WAL MUSLEMEENA RAAHEMAN

compassionate towards Islam and Muslims,

وَلِلْحَقِّ نَاصِرًا وَعِنْدَ الْبَلَاءِ صَابِرًا

WA LIL-HAQQE NAASERAN WA INDAL BALAAE SAABERAN

a champion of truth and most patient in adversity,

وَلِلدِّيْنِ كَالِئًا وَعَنْ حَوْزَتِهٖ مُرَامِيًا

WA LIDDEENE KAALEAN WA A’N HAUZATEHI MORAAMEYAN

a protector for the religion, and a defender of its domain.

تَحُوْطُ الْهُدٰى وَتَنْصُرُهٗ

TAHOOTUL HODAA WA TANSOROHU

You safeguarded the right path and supported it,

وَتَبْسُطُ الْعَدْلَ وَتَنْشُرُهٗ

WA TABSOTUL A’DLA WA TANSHOROHU

spread justice and promoted it,

وَتَنْصُرُ الدِّيْنَ وَتُظْهِرُهٗ

WA TANSORUDDEENA WA TUZHEROHU

advocated the faith and manifested it,

وَتَكُفُّ الْعَابِثَ وَتَزْجُرُهٗ

WA TAKUFFUL A’ABESA WA TAZJOROHU

restrained and reproached the frivolous,

وَتَأْخُذُ لِلدَّنِيِّ مِنَ الشَّرِيْفِ

WA TAA-KHOZO LIDDANIYYE MENASH SHAREEFE

took back (the rights) of the lowly from the privileged,

وَتُسَاوٰي فِي الْحُكْمِ بَيْنَ الْقَوِيِّ وَالضَّعِيْفِ

WA TOSAAWI FIL HUKME BAYNAL QAWWIYYE WAZ ZAE’EFE

and were equitable in your arbitrations between the weak and the strong.

كُنْتَ رَبِيْعَ الْاَيْتَامِ وَعِصْمَةَ الْاَنَامِ وَعِزَّ الْاِسْلَامِ

KUNTA RABIA’L AYTAAME, WA I’SMATAL ANAAME WA I’ZZAL ISLAAME

You were the springtime of the orphans, the protection of humanity, the glory of Islam,

وَمَعْدِنَ الْاَحْكَامِ وَحَلِيْفَ الْاِنْعَامِ

WA MA’DENAL AHKAAME WA HALEEFAL INA’AME

the treasure of divine laws, and a relentless ally of benevolence.

سَالِكًا طَرَائِقَ [فِيْ طَرِيْقَةِ] جَدِّكَ وَاَبِيْكَ

SAALEKAN TARAAEQA (FEE TAREEQATE) JADDEKA WA ABEEKA

You pursued the path of your grandfather and your father,

مُشْبِهًا فِي الْوَصِيَّةِ لِاَخِيْكَ

MUSHBEHAN FIL WASIYYATE LE-AKHEEKA

resembled your brother in will,

وَفِيَّ الذِّمَمِ رَضِيَّ الشِّيَمِ

WA FIYYAZ ZEMAME RAZIYYASH SHEYAME

were loyal to your obligations, possessed pleasant manners,

ظَاهِرَ الْكَرَمِ مُتَهَجِّدًا فِي الظُّلَمِ

ZAAHERAL KARAME MOTAHAJJEDAN FIZZOLAME

embodied generosity, and spent the darkness (of night) in prayer.

قَوِيْمَ الطَّرَائِقِ كَرِيْمَ الْخَلَائِقِ عَظِيْمَ السَّوَابِقِ

QAWEEMAT TARAAEQE KARIMAL KHALAAEQE A’ZEEMAS SAWAABEQE

You were the straightest path, the most generous of the creation, and had the brightest record.

شَرِيْفَ النَّسَبِ مُنِيْفَ الْحَسَبِ رَفِيْعَ الرُّتَبِ

SHAREEFAN NASABE MONIFAL HASABE RAFI-A’R ROTABE

You were of great ancestry, noble descent, and lofty rank.

كَثِيْرَ الْمَنَاقِبِ مَحْمُوْدَ الضَّرَائِبِ جَزِيْلَ الْمَوَاهِبِ

KASEERAL MANAAQEBE MAHMOODAZ ZARAA-EBE JAZEELAL MAWAAHEBE

You possessed plentiful merits, praiseworthy manners, and were abundant in endowments.

حَلِيْمٌ رَشِيْدٌ مُنِيْبٌ جَوَادٌ عَلِيْمٌ شَدِيْدٌ

HALEEMUR RASHIDUN MUNEEBUN JAWAADUN A’LEEMUN SHADEEDUN

You were forbearing, upright, always turning (to Allah), generous, knowledgeable, strong,

اِمَامٌ شَهِيْدٌ اَوَّاهٌ مُنِيْبٌ حَبِيْبٌ مَهِيْبٌ

EMAAMUN SHAHEEDUN AWWAAHUN MONEEBUN HABEEBUN MAHEEBUN

a martyred Imam, grieved, repentant with earnest prayers (to Allah), dearly loved, and awesome.

كُنْتَ لِلرَّسُولِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَلَدًا

KUNTA LIR RASOOLE SALLAL LAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHI WALADAN

You were to the Messenger, peace be upon him and his family, a son,

وَلِلْقُرْآنِ سَنَدًا [مُنْقِذًا]

WA LIL-QURAANE SANADAN (MUNQEZAN)

for the Quran, an authority [a savior],

وَلِلْاُمَّةِ عَضُدًا

WA LIL-UMMATE A’ZODAN

and for the nation, a support.

وَفِي الطَّاعَةِ مُجْتَهِدًا

WA FITTAA-A’TE MUJTAHEDAN

You were diligent in obedience,

حَافِظًا لِلْعَهْدِ وَالْمِيْثَاقِ

HAAFEZAN LIL-A’HDE WAL MEESAAQE

a protector of the covenant and oath,

نَاكِبًا عَنْ سُبُلِ الْفُسَّاقِ

NAAKEBAN A’N SOBOLIL FUSSAAQE

keeping away from the paths of the debauched,

[وَ] بَاذِلًا لِلْمَجْهُوْدِ

(WA) BAAZELAN LIL-MAJHOODE

sparing no effort (in fulfilling the duties),

طَوِيْلَ الرُّكُوْعِ وَالسُّجُوْدِ

TAWEELAR ROKOOE’ WAS SOJOODE

performing prolonged bowing and prostrations,

زَاهِدًا فِي الدُّنْيَا زُهْدَ الرَّاحِلِ عَنْهَا

ZAAHEDAN FIDDUNYA ZOHDAR RAAHELE A’NHA

abstaining from the world, like one who is departing from it,

نَاظِرًا اِلَيْهَا بِعَيْنِ الْمُسْتَوْحِشِيْنَ مِنْهَا

NAAZERAN ELAIHAA BE-A’YNIL MUSTAUHESHEENA MINHA

looking upon it (the world) through the eyes of one estranged (from it).

آمَالُكَ عَنْهَا مَكْفُوْفَةٌ

AAMAALOKA A’NHAA MAKFOOFATUN

Your desires from it (the world) were abstentious,

وَهِمَّتُكَ عَنْ زِيْنَتِهَا مَصْرُوْفَةٌ

WA HIMMATOKA A’N ZEENATEHA MASROOFATUN

your efforts were far-removed from its embellishments,

وَاَلْحَاظُكَ عَنْ بَهْجَتِهَا مَطْرُوْفَةٌ

WA ALHAA’ZOKA A’N BAHJATEHA MATRUFATUN

your glances removed from its joys,

وَرَغْبَتُكَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مَعْرُوْفَةٌ

WA RAGHBATOKA FIL AAKHERATE MA’RUFATUN

and your desire for the hereafter was well-known,

حَتّٰى اِذَا الْجَوْرُ مَدَّ بَاعَهٗ

HATTAA EZAL JAWRO MADDABAA-A’HU

even when tyranny became wide-spread,

وَاَسْفَرَ الظُّلْمُ قِنَاعَهٗ

WA ASFARAZ ZULMO QENAA-A’HU

injustice removed its veil,

وَدَعَا الْغَيُّ اَتْبَاعَهٗ

WA DA-A’L GHAYYO ATBAA-A’HU

wickedness called upon its followers,

وَاَنْتَ فِيْ حَرَمِ جَدِّكَ قاطِنٌ

WA ANTA FEE HARAME JADDEKA QAATENUN

and you were residing in the sanctuary of your grandfather,

وَلِلظَّالِمِيْنَ مُبَايِنٌ

WA LIZ-ZAALEMEENA MOBAAYENUN

detached from the oppressors,

جَلِيْسُ الْبَيْتِ وَالْمِحْرَابِ

JALEESUL BAYTE WAL-MEHRAABE

sitting in the house and the prayer niche,

مُعْتَزِلٌ عَنِ اللَّذَّاتِ وَالشَّهَوَاتِ

MO’TAZELUN A’NIL LAZZAATE WASH SHAHAWAATE

unattached to (worldly) pleasures and carnal desires,

تُنْكِرُ الْمُنْكَرَ بِقَلْبِكَ وَلِسَانِكَ عَلٰى حَسَبِ طاقَتِكَ وَاِمْكَانِكَ

TUNKERUL MUNKARA BE-QALBEKA WA LESAANEKA A’LAA HASABE TAAQATEKA WA IMKAANEKA

and renouncing evil in your heart and on your tongue to the extent of your strength and ability.

ثُمَّ اقْتَضَاكَ الْعِلْمُ لِلْاِنْكَارِ

SUMMAQ TAZAAKAL I’LMO LIL-INKAARE

Then the knowledge demanded you for disavowal (of falsehood),

وَلَزِمَكَ [اَلْزَمَكَ] اَنْ تُجَاهِدَ الْفُجَّارَ

WA LAZEMAKA (ALZAMAKA) AN TOJAAHEDAL FUJJAARA

and made it incumbent on you to struggle against the deviant.

فَسِرْتَ فِيْ اَوْلَادِكَ وَاَهَالِيْكَ وَشِيْعَتِكَ وَمَوَالِيْكَ

FASIRTA FEE AWLAADEKA WA AHAALEEKA WA SHIA’TEKA WA MAWAALEEKA

Therefore, you set out in company of your children, kinsfolk, followers, and supporters,

وَصَدَعْتَ بِالْحَقِّ وَالْبَيِّنَةِ

WA SADA’TA BIL-HAQQE WAL BAYYENATE

disclosed the truth and clear proofs,

وَدَعَوْتَ اِلَى اللهِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ

WA DA-A’WTA ILLAL LAAHE BIL-HIKMATE WAL MAWE’ZATIL HASANATE

summoned people towards Allah with wisdom and fine exhortation,

وَاَمَرْتَ بِاِقَامَةِ الْحُدُوْدِ وَالطَّاعَةِ لِلْمَعْبُوْدِ

WA AMARTA BE-EQAAMATIL HODOODE WAT TAA-A’TE LIL-MA’BOODE

ordered the establishment of the limits of divine law, and the obedience to the One Who should be worshipped,

وَنَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْخَبَائِثِ وَالطُّغْيَانِ

WA NAHAITA A’NIL KHABAAESE WAT TUGHYAANE

and forbade (people) from wickedness and oppression.

وَوَاجَهُوْكَ بِالظُّلْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ

WA WAAJAHOOKA BIZ-ZULME WAL U’DWAANE

But, they confronted you with injustice and aggression.

فَجَاهَدْتَهُمْ بَعْدَ الْاِيْعَازِ لَهُمْ [الْاِيْعَادِ اِلَيْهِمْ] وَتَاْكِيْدِ الْحُجَّةِ عَلَيْهِمْ

FAJAAHADTAHUM BA’DAL EE-A’AZE LAHUM (EE-A’ADE ELAYHIM) WA TAAKEEDIL HUJJATE A’LAIHIM

Therefore, you resisted them after advising them and stressing over (divine) proofs against them.

فَنَكَثُوْا ذِمَامَكَ وَبَيْعَتَكَ

FANAKASU ZEMAAMAKA WA BAY-A’TAKA

However, they violated your (divine) rights and oath.

وَاَسْخَطُوْا رَبَّكَ وَجَدَّكَ

WA ASKHATOO RABBAKA WA JADDAKA

angered your Lord and your grandfather,

وَبَدَؤُوْكَ بِالْحَرْبِ

WA BADAOOKA BIL-HARBE

and initiated battle against you.

فَثَبَتَّ لِلطَّعْنِ وَالضَّرْبِ

FASABATTA LITTA’NE WAZ-ZARBE

Hence, you stood firm to spear and strike,

وَطَحَنْتَ جُنُوْدَ الْفُجَّارِ وَاقْتَحَمْتَ قَسْطَلَ الْغُبَارِ

WA TAHANTA JONOODAL FUJJAARE WAQTAHAMTA QASTALAL GHOBAARE

pulverized the soldiers of the transgressors, and stormed (courageously) into the dust of the battle,

مُجَالِدًا بِذِىْ الْفَقَارِ كَاَنَّكَ عَلِيٌّ الْمُخْتَارُ

MOJAADELAN BE-ZIL FEQAARE KA ANNAKA A’LIYYONIL MUKHTAARE

fighting with Zulfiqar as if you were Ali, the chosen one.

فَلَمَّا رَاَوْكَ ثَابِتَ الْجَاشِ غَيْرَ خَائِفٍ وَلَا خَاشٍ

FALAMMAA RA-AWKA SAABETAL JAASHE GHAIRA KHAA-EFIN WA LAA KHAASHIN

So when they saw you firm, fearless, and courageous,

نَصَبُوْا لَكَ غَوَائِلَ مَكْرِهِمْ وَقَاتَلُوْكَ بِكَيْدِهِمْ وَشَرِّهِمْ

NASABOO LAKA GAWAAELA MAKREHIM WA QAATALOOKA BE-KAIDEHIM WA SHARREHIM

they set up their most malicious deceptions against you, and fought you with their deceit and viciousness.

وَاَمَرَ اللَّعِيْنُ جُنُوْدَهٗ فَمَنَعُوْكَ الْمَاءَ وَوُرُوْدَهٗ

WA AMARAL LAE’ENO JONUDAHU FAMANO’OKAL MAA-A WA WOROODAHU

The accursed one (Umar Ibn Sa’d) commanded his soldiers, and thus, they prevented you from reaching or receiving water.

وَنَاجَزُوْكَ الْقِتَالَ وَعَاجَلُوْكَ النِّزَالَ

WA NAAJAZUKAL QETAALA WA A’AJALOOKAN NEZAALA

They rushed to engage you in combat, descended swiftly upon you,

وَرَشَقُوْكَ بِالسِّهَامِ وَالنِّبَالِ

WA RASHAQOOKA BISSEHAAME WAN NEBAALE

showering you with arrows and stones,

وَبَسَطُوْا اِلَيْكَ اَكُفَّ الْاِصْطِلَامِ

WA BASATOO ELAYKA AKUFFAL ISTELAAME

and moving towards you with uprooting hands.

وَلَمْ يَرْعَوْا لَكَ ذِمَامًا وَلَا رَاقَبُوْا فِيْكَ اَثَامًا فِيْ قَتْلِهِمْ اَوْلِيَائَكَ وَنَهْبِهِمْ رِحَالَكَ

WA LAM YAR-A’W LAKA ZEMAAMAN WA LAA RAAQABOO FEEKA AASAAMAN FEE QATLEHIM AWLEYAA-AKA WA NAHBEHIM REHAALAKA

Neither they respected your rights, nor were they mindful of retribution for slaying you and your companions, and plundering your belongings.

وَاَنْتَ مُقَدَّمٌ فِي الْهَبَوَاتِ وَمُحْتَمِلٌ لِلْاَذِيَّاتِ

WA ANTA MUQDDAMUN FIL HABAWAATE WA MOHTAMELUN LIL-AZIYYAATE

You were in the front line of the storm (of battle), enduring afflictions.

قَدْ عَجِبَتْ مِنْ صَبْرِكَ مَلَائِكَةُ السَّمَاوَاتِ

QAD A’JEBAT MIN SABREKA MALAAAEKATUS SAMAAWAATE

Indeed, the angels of the heavens were astonished by your patience.

فَاَحْدَقُوْا بِكَ مِنْ كُلِّ الْجِهَاتِ

FA-AHDAQOO BEKA MIN KULLIL JEHAATE

The enemy then surrounded you from all sides,

وَاَثْخَنُوْكَ بِالْجِرَاحِ

ASKHANUKA BIL-JERAAHE

weakened you by inflicting wounds,

وَحَالُوْا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ الرَّوَاحِ

WA HAALU BAYNAKA WA BAYNAR RAWAAHE

prevented you from taking any repose,

وَلَمْ يَبْقَ لَكَ نَاصِرٌ

WA LAM YABQA LAKA NAASERUN

and you had no helper remaining.

وَاَنْتَ مُحْتَسِبٌ صَابِرٌ

WA ANTA MOHTASEBUN SAABERUN

You were bereaved yet patient,

تَذُبُّ عَنْ نِسْوَتِكَ وَاَوْلَادِكَ

TAZUBBO A’N NISWATEKA WA AWLAADEKA

defending your women and children,

حَتّٰى نَكَسُوْكَ عَنْ جَوَادِكَ

HATTAA NAKASOOKA A’N JAWAADEKA

until they caused you to fall from your horse.

فَهَوَيْتَ اِلَى الْاَرْضِ جَرِيْحًا

FAHAWAYTA ELAL ARZE JAREEHAN

You fell to the ground, wounded,

تَطَؤُكَ الْخُيُوْلُ بِحَوَافِرِهَا

TATA-OKAL KHOYOOLO BE-HAWAAFEREHAA

horses trampled you with their hooves,

وَتَعْلُوْكَ الطُّغَاةُ بِبَوَاتِرِهَا

WA TAL-O’OKAT TOGHAATO BE-BAWAATEREHAA

tyrants raised their swords against you,

قَدْ رَشَحَ لِلْمَوْتِ جَبِيْنُكَ

QAD RASHAHA LIL-MAWTE JABEENOKA

the sweat of death appeared on your forehead,

وَاخْتَلَفَتْ بِالْاِنْقِبَاضِ وَالْاِنْبِسَاطِ شِمَالُكَ وَيَمِيْنُكَ

WAKH TALAFAT BIL-INQEBAAZE WAL IMBESAATE SHEMAALOKA WA YAMEENOKA

and you continually clenched and unclenched your hands,

تُدِيْرُ طَرْفًا خَفِيًّا اِلٰى رَحْلِكَ وَبَيْتِكَ

TODEERO TARFAN KHAFIYYAN ELAA RAHLEKA WA BAYTEKA

secretly gazing upon your caravan and tents,

وَقَدْ شُغِلْتَ بِنَفْسِكَ عَنْ وُلْدِكَ وَاَهَالِيْكَ

WA QAD SHOGHILTA BENAFSEKA A’N WULDEKA WA AHAALEEKA

while trapped by yourself away from your children and family.

وَاَسْرَعَ فَرَسُكَ شَارِدًا اِلٰى خِيَامِكَ قاصِدًا مُحَمْحِمًا بَاكِيًا

WA ASRA-A’ FARASOKA SHAAREDAN ELAA KHEYAAMEKA QAASEDAN MOHAMHEMAN BAAKEYAN

(At that time,) your horse distractedly galloped towards your camp, neighing and crying.

فَلَمَّا رَاَيْنَ النِّسَاءُ جَوَادَكَ مَخْزِيًّا

FALLAMAA RA-AYNAN NESAA-O JAWAADAKA MAKHZIYYAN

When the women saw your horse distraught,

وَنَظَرْنَ سَرْجَكَ عَلَيْهِ مَلْوِيًّا

WA NAZARNA SARJAKA A’LAIHE MALWIYYAN

and observed your saddle contorted,

بَرَزْنَ مِنَ الْخُدُوْرِ

BARAZNA MENAL KHODOORE

they came from the tents,

نَاشِرَاتِ الشُّعُوْرِ

NAASHERAATISH SHO-O’ORE

disheveling their hair,

عَلَى الْخُدُوْدِ لَاطِمَاتِ الْوُجُوْهِ سَافِرَاتٍ

A’LAL KHODOODE LAATEMAATIL WOJOOHE SAAFERAATIN

striking their now unveiled cheeks,

وَبِالْعَوِيْلِ دَاعِيَاتٍ

WA BIL-A’WEELE DAAE’YAATIN

calling you by lamenting and wailing,

وَبَعْدَ الْعِزِّ مُذَلَّلَاتِ

WA BA’DAL I’ZZE MOZALLALAATE

being humiliated after being honored,

وَاِلٰى مَصْرَعِكَ مُبَادِرَاتٍ

WA ELAA MASRAE’KA MOBAADERAATIN

hastening to where you lay wounded.

وَالشِّمْرُ جَالِسٌ عَلٰى صَدْرِكَ

WASH SHIMRO JAALESUN A’LAA SADREKA

At that time Shimr (L) was sitting on your chest,

وَمُوْلِغٌ سَيْفَهٗ عَلٰى نَحْرِكَ

WA MOOLEGHUN SAIFAHU A’LAA NAHREKA

quenching his sword with (the blood of) your throat,

قَابِضٌ عَلٰى شَيْبَتِكَ بِيَدِهٖ

QAABEZUN A’LAA SHAIBATEKA BEYADEHI

grabbing your beard with his hand,

ذَابِحٌ لَكَ بِمُهَنَّدِهٖ

ZAABEHUN LAKA BE-MOHANNADEHI

as he slew you with his sword.

قَدْ سَكَنَتْ حَوَاسُّكَ

QAD SAKANAT HAWAASSOKA

Your faculties faded,

وَخَفِيَتْ اَنْفَاسُكَ

WA KHAFEYAT ANFAASOKA

your breath became shallow and ceased,

وَرُفِعَ عَلَى الْقَنَاةِ رَأْسُكَ

WA ROFE-A’ A’LAL QANAATE RAASOKA

and your head was raised onto a spear.

وَسُبِيَ اَهْلُكَ كَالْعَبِيْدِ

WA SOBEYA AHLOKA KAL-A’BEEDE

Your family were captured like slaves,

وَصُفِّدُوا فِي الْحَدِيْدِ فَوْقَ اَقْتَابِ الْمَطِيَّاتِ

WA SUFFEDOO FIL HADEEDE FAUQA AQTAABIL MATIYYAATE

bound with iron chains atop camels,

تَلْفَحُ وُجُوْهَهُمْ حَرُّ الْهَاجِرَاتِ

TALFAHO WOJOOHAHUM HARRAL HAAJERAATE

with midday heat scorching their faces.

يُسَاقُوْنَ فِي الْبَرَارِيْ وَالْفَلَوَاتِ

YOSAAQOONA FIL BARAARI WAL FALAWAATE

They were driven across deserts and wastelands,

اَيْدِيْهِمْ مَغلُوْلَةٌ اِلَى الْاَعْناقِ

AYDEEHIM MAGHLOOLATUN ELAL AA’NAAQE

with their hands chained to their necks,

يُطَافُ بِهِمْ فِي الْاَسْوَاقِ

YOTAAFO BEHIM FIL ASWAAQE

and were paraded around the markets.

فَالْوَيْلُ لِلْعُصَاةِ الْفُسَّاقِ

FALWAYLO LILO’SAATIL FUSSAAQE

Woe be unto the wicked transgressors!

لَقَدْ قَتَلُوْا بِقَتْلِكَ الْاِسْلَامَ

LAQAD QATALOO BE-QATLEKAL ISLAAMA

Certainly, by killing you, they have killed Islam,

وَعَطَّلُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَالصِّيَامَ

WA A’TTALUS SALAATA WAS SEYAAMA

disrupted (the truth of) prayer and fasting,

وَنَقَضُوْا السُّنَنَ وَالْاَحْكَامَ

WA NAQAZUS SONANA WAL AHKAAMA

revoked the (prophetic) customs and the (divine) laws,

وَهَدَمُوْا قَواعِدَ الْاِيْمَانِ

WA HADAMU QAWAAE’DAL EEMAANE

destroyed the pillars of faith,

وَحَرَّفُوْا آيَاتِ الْقُرْآنِ

WA HARREFOO AAYAATIL QURAANE

distorted the verses of the Quran,

وَهَمْلَجُوْا فِي الْبَغْيِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ

WA HAMLAJOO FIL BAGYE WAL U’DWAANE

and brutally rushed into tyranny and aggression.

لَقَدْ اَصْبَحَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ مَوْتُوْرًا

LAQAD ASBAHA RASOOLUL LAAHE SALLAL LAAHO A’LAIHE WA AALEHI MAWTURAN

Certainly, (by this event,) the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) was wronged, left alone, and denied vengeance,

وَعَادَ كِتَابُ اللهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ مَهْجُوْرًا

WA A’ADA KETABUL LAAHE A’ZZA WA JALLA MAHJOORAN

the Book of Allah, the mighty and the majestic, was again abandoned,

وَغُوْدِرَ الْحَقُّ اِذْ قُهِرْتَ مَقْهُوْرًا

WA GOODERAL HAQQO IZ QOHERTA MAQHOORAN

truth was betrayed when you were forcibly overcome,

وَفُقِدَ بِفَقْدِكَ التَّكْبِيْرُ وَالتَّهْلِيْلُ

WA FOQEDA BE-FAQDEKAT TAKBEERO WAT TAHLEELO

And with your loss, call for Allah’s glorification and His Unity,

وَالتَّحْرِيْمُ وَالتَّحْلِيْلُ وَالتَّنْزِيْلُ وَالتَّأْوِيْلُ

WAT TAHREEMO WAT TAHLEELO WAT TANZEELO WAT TAAWEELO

His prohibitions, sanctions, revelation, and interpretation were lost.

وَظَهَرَ بَعْدَكَ التَّغْيِيْرُ وَالتَّبْدِيْلُ وَالْاِلْحَادُ وَالتَّعْطِيْلُ وَالْاَهْوَاءُ وَالْاَضَالِيْلُ وَالْفِتَنُ وَالْاَبَاطِيْلُ

WA ZAHARA BA’DAKAT TAGYEERO WAT TABDEELO WAL ILHAADO WAT TA’TEELO WAL AHWAA-O WAL AZAALEELO WAL FETANO WAL ABAATEELO

After you, alteration, distortion, infidelity, abandonment (of the Islamic laws), vagary, misguidance, turmoil and falsehood became prevalent.

فَقَامَ نَاعِيْكَ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ جَدِّكَ الرَّسُوْلِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهٖ

FAQAAMA NAAE’EKA I’NDA QABRE JADDEKAR RASOOLE SALLAL LAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHI

The announcer of your martyrdom came near the grave of your grandfather, the Messenger (s.a.w.a.),

فَنَعَاكَ اِلَيْهِ بِالدَّمْعِ الْهَطُوْلِ قَائِلًا:

FANA-A’AKA ELAYHE BIDDAMI’L HATOOLE QAA-ELAN:

gave the news to him with tears flowing, saying:

يا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ قُتِلَ سِبْطُكَ وَفَتَاكَ

YAA RASOOLLAL LAAHE QOTELA SIBTOKA WA FATAAKA

O the Messenger of Allah! Your brave grandson was slain,

وَاسْتُبِيْحَ اَهْلُكَ وَحِمَاكَ

WAS TOBEEHA AHLOKA WA HEMAAKA

and abuse of your family and supporters were deemed lawful.

وَسُبِيَتْ بَعْدَكَ ذَرَارِيْكَ

WA SOBEYAT BA’DAKA ZARAAREEKA

After you, your progeny were captured,

وَوَقَعَ الْمَحْذُوْرُ بِعِتْرَتِكَ وَذَوِيْكَ

WA WAQA-A’L MAHZOORO BE-I’TRATEKA WA ZAWEEKA

and adversity befell your family and your offspring.

فَانْزَعَجَ الرَّسُوْلُ وَبَكٰى قَلْبُهُ الْمَهُوْلُ

FANZA-A’JAR RASOOLO WA BAKAA QALBOHUL MAHOOLO

Indeed, the Messenger (s.a.w.a.) became distressed and his depressed heart wept,

وَعَزَّاهُ بِكَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالْاَنْبِيَاءُ

WA A’ZZAAHO BEKAL MALAAAEKATO WAL AMBEYAA-O

The Angels and the prophets offered their condolences to him for your martyrdom,

وَفُجِعَتْ بِكَ اُمُّكَ الزَّهْرَاءُ

WA FOJEA’T BEKA UMMOKAZ ZAHRAAO

Your mother, al-Zahra, became distressed and bereft of you,

وَاخْتَلَفَتْ جُنُوْدُ الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ تُعَزّٰي اَبَاكَ اَمِيْرَالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

WAKH TALAFAT JONOODUL MALAAAEKATIL MOQARRABEENA TOA’ZZAA ABAAKA AMEERAL MOAMENEENA

Legions of favored Angels came in waves to offer their condolences to your father, the Leader of the Faithful,

وَاُقِيْمَتْ لَكَ الْمَآتِمُ فِيْ اَعْلَا عِلِّيّيْنَ

WA OQEEMAT LAKAL MAAATEMO FI AA’LAA I’LLIYYEENA

Mourning commemorations were held for you in the utmost exalted place Heaven,

وَلَطَمَتْ عَلَيْكَ الْحُوْرُ الْعِيْنُ

WA LOTEMAT A’LAIKAL HOORUL E’ENO

and the dark-eyed Maidens (of Paradise) hit their own heads and faces in grief,

وَبَكَتِ السَّمَاءُ وَسُكَّانُهَا

WA BAKATIS SAMAAO WA SUKKAANOHA

The skies and their inhabitants wept,

وَالْجِنَانُ وَخُزَّانُهَا

WAL JENAANO WA KHUZZAANOHA

as did Paradise and its keepers,

وَالْهِضَابُ وَاَقْطَارُهَا

WAL HEZAABO WA AQTAAROHA

the mountains and their surroundings,

وَالْبِحَارُ وَحِيْتَانُهَا

WAL BEHAARO WA HEETAANOHA

the oceans and their fishes,

وَالْجِنَانُ وَوِلْدَانُهَا

WAL JENAANO WA WILDAANOHA

the heavens and their servants,

وَالْبَيْتُ وَالْمَقَامُ

WAL BAYTO WAL MAQAAMO

the House (Ka’ba), and the Station (of Abraham),

وَالْمَشْعَرُ الْحَرَامُ

WAL MASH-A’RUL HARAAMO

the Sacred Monument,

وَالْحِلُّ وَالْاِحْرَامُ

WAL HILLO WAL EHRAAMO

and Mecca and its sanctuary.

اَللّٰهُمَّ فَبِحُرْمَةِ هٰذَا الْمَكَانِ الْمُنِيْفِ

ALLAAHUMMA FABEHURMATIL MAKAANIL MONEEFE

O Allah! By the sanctity of this exalted place (the tomb of Imam al-Husain (a.s.)),

صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

bestow blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَاحْشُرْنِيْ فِيْ زُمْرَتِهِمْ

WAH SHURNEE FEE ZUMRATEHIM

assemble me in their company,

وَاَدْخِلْنِي الْجَنَّةَ بِشَفَاعَتِهِمْ

WA ADKHILNIL JANNATA BE-SHAFAA-A’TEHIM

and admit me to Paradise by their intercession.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنّي اَتَوَسَّلُ اِلَيْكَ يا اَسْرَعَ الْحَاسِبِيْنَ

ALLAHUMMA INNEE ATAWASSALO E’LAYKA YAA ASRA-A’L HAASEBEENA

My Allah! I implore You, O He who is the quickest of the reckoners!

وَيَااَكْرَمَ الْاَكْرَمِيْنَ وَيَااَحْكَمَ الْحَاكِمِيْنَ

WA YAA AKRAMAL AKRAMEENA WA YAA AHKAMA-L HAAKEMEENA

O the most generous of the generous and the wisest of judges!

بِمُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ رَسُوْلِكَ اِلَى الْعَالَمِيْنَ اَجْمَعِيْنَ

BE-MOHAMMADIN KHAATAMIN NABIYYEENA RASOOLEKA ELAL A’ALAMEENA AJMAE’EN

By Muhammad, the seal of the prophets, Your Messenger to all the worlds,

وَبِاَخِيْهِ وَابْنِ عَمِّهِ الْاَنْزَعِ الْبَطِيْنِ الْعَالِمِ الْمَكِيْنِ عَلِيٍّ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

WA BE-AKHEEHE WAB NA A’MMEHIL ANZAI’L BATEENIL A’ALEMIL MAKEENE A’LIYYIN AMEERIL MOMENEENA

By his brother and cousin, the uprooter of hidden polytheism, the distinguished and learned, Ali, the Prince of the Faithful,

وَبِفَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

WA BE-FAATEMATA SAYYEDATE NESAAIL A’ALAMEENA

By Fatima, the chief of women of the worlds,

وَبِالْحَسَنِ الزَّكِيِّ عِصْمَةِ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ

WA BIL HASANIZ ZAKIYYE I’SMATIL MUTTAQEENA

By al-Hasan, the purified one and the protection of the pious,

وَبِاَبِيْ عَبْدِاللهِ الْحُسَيْنِ اَكْرَمِ الْمُسْتَشْهَدِيْنَ

WA BE-ABI A’BDIL LAAHIL HUSAYNE AKRAMIL MUSTASHHADEENA

By Abi Abdillah, al-Husain, the most honored martyr,

وَبِاَوْلَادِهِ الْمَقْتُوْلِيْنَ وَبِعِتْرَتِهِ الْمَظْلُوْمِيْنَ

WA BE-AWLAADEHIL MAQTOOLEENA WA BE-I’TRATEHIL MAZLOOMEENA

By his slain children and oppressed family,

وَبِعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ زَيْنِ الْعَابِدِيْنَ

WA BE-A’LI YIBNIL HUSAYNE ZAINIL A’ABEDEENA

By Ali Ibn al-Husain, the ornament of the worshippers,

وَبِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قِبْلَةِ الْاَوَّابِيْنَ

WA MOHAMMAD IBNE A’LIYYIN QIBLATIL AWWAABEENA

By Muhammad Ibn Ali, the direction of those who turn to Allah,

وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ اَصْدَقِ الصَّادِقِيْنَ

WA JA’FAR IBNE MOHAMMADIN ASDAQIS SAADEQEENA

By Ja’far Ibn Muhammad, the most truthful,

وَمُوسٰى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ مُظْهِرِ الْبَرَاهِيْنَ

WA MUSA IBNE JA’FARIN MUZHERIL BARAAHEENA

By Musa Ibn Ja’far, the discloser of the proofs,

وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوْسٰى نَاصِرِ الدِّيْنِ

WA A’LIYYIBNE MOOSA NAASERID DEENE

By Ali Ibn Musa, the helper of the religion,

وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قُدْوَةِ الْمُهْتَدِيْنَ

WA MOHAMMAD IBNE A’LIYYIN QUDWATIL MOHTADEENA

By Muhammad Ibn Ali, the exemplar of those who accepted guidance,

وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ اَزْهَدِ الزّاهِدِيْنَ

WA A’LIYYIBNE MOHAMMADIN AZHADIZ ZAAHEDEENA

By Ali Ibn Muhammad, the most ascetic,

وَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وارِثِ الْمُسْتَخْلَفِيْنَ

WAL HASAN IBNE A’LIYYIN WAARESIL MUSTAKHLAFEENA

By Hasan Ibn Ali, the inheritor of the appointed ones,

وَالْحُجَّةِ عَلَى الْخَلْقِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ

WAL HUJJATE A’LAL KHALQE AJMAE’ENA

By the Proof upon all creation (al-Mahdi),

اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

AN TOSALLEYA A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADENIS

Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

الصَّادِقِيْنَ الْاَبَرِّيْنَ آلِ طٰهٰ وَيٰسٓ

SAADEQEENAL ABARREENA AALE TAAHAA WA YAASIN

the most truthful and devoted ones (who are) the family of Taha and Yasin,

وَاَنْ تَجْعَلَنِيْ فِي الْقِيَامَةِ مِنَ الْآمِنِيْنَ الْمُطْمَئِنِّيْنَ

WA AN TAJ-A’LANI FIL QEYAAMATE MENAL AAMENEENAL MUTMAINNEENAL

and place me on the Day of Judgment among those who are safe, confident,

الْفَائِزِيْنَ الْفَرِحِيْنَ الْمُسْتَبْشِرِيْنَ

FAAEZEENAL FAREHEENAL MUSTABSHEREENA

triumphant, happy, and felicitous.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اكْتُبْنِيْ فِي الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ

ALLAAHUMMAK TUBNEE FIL MUSLEMEENA

O Allah! Destine me to be amongst the submitters,

وَاَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِيْنَ

WA ALHIQNEE BIS-SAALEHEENA

Join me with the righteous,

وَاجْعَلْ لِيْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِيْنَ

WAJ A’L LEE LESAANA SIDQIN FIL AAKHEREENA

Ordain for me (offspring with) truthful tongue among the last generation,

وَانْصُرْنِيْ عَلَى الْبَاغِيْنَ

WAN SURNEE A’LAL BAAGHEENA

Make me victorious over the transgressors,

وَاكْفِنِيْ كَيْدَ الْحَاسِدِيْنَ

WAK FENEE KAYDAL HAASEDEENA

Suffice me the deception of the envious,

وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي مَكْرَ الْمَاكِرِيْنَ

WAS RIF A’NNEE MAKRAL MAAKEREENA

Turn away from me the evil plans of the schemers,

وَاقْبِضْ عَنِّي اَيْدِيَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ

WAQ BIZ A’NNEE AYDIZ ZAALEMEENA

Hold back from me the hands of the oppressors,

وَاجْمَعْ بَيْنِيْ وَبَيْنَ السَّادَةِ الْمَيَامِيْنِ فِيْ اَعْلَا عِلِّيِّيْنَ

WAJ MA’ BAYNEE WA BAYNAS SAADATIL MAYAAMEENA FEE AA’LAA I’LLIYYEENA

Gather me with the blessed masters in the utmost exalted place of Heaven,

مَعَ الَّذِيْنَ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ وَالصِّدِّيْقِيْنَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِيْنَ

MA’AL LAZEENA AN-A’MTA A’LAYHIM MENAN NABIYYEENA WAS SIDDEEQEENA WASH SHOHADAAE WAS SAALEHEENA

along with whom You have bestowed favor, from among the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous,

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يا اَرْحَمَ الرّاحِمِيْنَ

BE-RAHMATEKA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA

By Your mercy, O the most merciful of the merciful.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنّي اُقْسِمُ عَلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّكَ الْمَعْصُوْمِ

ALLAAHUMMA INNI UQSEMO A’LAYKA BE-NABIYYEKAL MA’SOOME

O Allah! I implore You by Your infallible Prophet,

وَبِحُكْمِكَ الْمَحْتُومِ وَنُهْيَكَ [نَهْيِكَ] الْمَكْتُوْمِ

WA BE-HUKMEKAL MAHTOOME WA NOHYAKA (NAHYEKAL) MAKTOOME

by Your definite judgment, and Your concealed preventive wisdom,

وَبِهٰذَا الْقَبْرِ الْمَلْمُوْمِ الْمُوَسَّدِ فِيْ كَنَفِهِ الْاِمَامُ الْمَعْصُوْمُ الْمَقْتُوْلُ الْمَظْلُوْمُ

WA BEHAAZAL QABRIL MALMOOMIL MOWASSADE FI KANAFEHIL EMAAMUL MA’SOOMUL MAQTOOLUL MAZLOOMO

by this grave which is the place of congregation and in which lies the infallible Imam, the slaughtered, and the oppressed,

اَنْ تَكْشِفَ مَا بِيْ مِنَ الْغُمُوْمِ

AN TAKSHEFA MAA BEE MENAL GHOMOOME

that You dispel from me all that grieves me,

وَتَصْرِفَ عَنّٰي شَرَّ الْقَدَرِ الْمَحْتُوْمِ

WA TASREFA A’NNAA SHARRAL QADARIL MAHTOOME

divert from me the harm of the decisive foreordained plan,

وَتُجِيْرَنِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ ذَاتِ السَّمُوْمِ

WA TOJEERANI MENAN NAARE ZAATIS SAMOOME

and give me refuge from the Hellfire with scorching winds.

اَللّٰهُمَّ جَلِّلْنِيْ بِنِعْمَتِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA JALLILNEE BE-NE’MATEKA

My Allah! Honor me with Your bounties,

وَرَضِّنِيْ بِقَسْمِكَ

WA RAZZENEE BE-QASMEKA

Make me content with Your apportionment,

وَتَغَمَّدْنِيْ بِجُوْدِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ

WA TAGAMMADNEE BE-JOODEKA WA KARAMEKA

Encompass me with Your munificence and generosity,

وَبَاعِدْنِيْ مِنْ مَكْرِكَ وَنِقْمَتِكَ

WA BAA-I’DNEE MIN MAKREKA WA NIQMATEKA

And keep me far off from Your requital scheme and Your wrath.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اعْصِمْنِيْ مِنَ الزَّلَلِ

ALLAAHUMMA’ SIMNEE MENAZ ZALALE

O Allah! Protect me from errors,

وَسَدِّدْنِيْ فِي الْقَوْلِ وَالْعَمَلِ

WA SADDIDNEE FIL QAWLE WAL A’MALE

Make me firm in speech and action,

وَافْسَحْ لِيْ فِيْ مُدَّةِ الْاَجَلِ

WAF SAH LEE FEE MUDDATIL AJALE

Extend for me the period (of life),

وَاعْفِنِيْ مِنَ الْاَوْجَاعِ وَالْعِلَلِ

WA’ FENEE MENAL AWJAAE’ WAL E’LALE

Relieve me from pain and ailments,

وَبَلِّغْنِيْ بِمَوَالِيَّ وَبِفَضْلِكَ اَفْضَلَ الْاَمَلِ

WA BALLIGNI BE-MAWAALIYYA WA BE-FAZLEKA AFZALAL AMALE

Make me achieve, through my masters and Your grace, the best of wishes.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاقْبَلْ تَوْبَتِيْ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN WAQ BAL TAWBATEE

O Allah! Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and accept my repentance and my return,

وَارْحَمْ عَبْرَتِيْ

WAR HAM A’BRATEE

Have mercy upon my weeping,

وَاَقِلْنِيْ عَثْرَتِيْ

WA AQILNEE A’SRATEE

Lessen my lapses,

وَنَفِّسْ كُرْبَتِيْ

WA NAFFIS KURBATEE

Relieve my distress,

وَاغْفِرْ لِيْ خَطِيْئَتِيْ

WAGH FIR LEE KHATEEATEE

Forgive me my mistake,

وَاَصْلِحْ لِيْ فِيْ ذُرِّيَّتِيْ

WA ASLEH LEE FEE ZURRIYYATEE

And improve my (righteousness) through my children.

اَللّغٰهُمَّ لَا تَدَعْ لِيْ فِيْ هٰذَا الْمَشْهَدِ الْمُعَظَّمِ وَالْمَحَلِّ الْمُكَرَّمِ ذَنْبًااِلاَّ غَفَرْتَهٗ

ALLAAHUMMA LAA TADA’LEE FEE HAAZAL MASH-HADIL MOA’ZZAME WAL MAHALLIL MOKARRAME ZAMBAN ILLAA GAFARTAHU

My Allah! Do not leave for me, in this exalted and honored place of martyrdom, any sin but that You forgive,

وَلَا عَيْبًا اِلاَّ سَتَرْتَهٗ

WA LAA A’YBAN ILLAA SATARTAHU

Nor any defect but that You conceal,

وَلَا غَمًّا اِلاَّ كَشَفْتَهٗ

WA LAA GHAMMAN ILLAA KASHAFTAHU

Nor any grief but that You remove,

وَلَا رِزْقًا اِلَّا بَسَطْتَهٗ

WA LAA RIZQAN ILLAA BASATTAHU

Nor any sustenance but that You extend,

وَلَا جَاهًا اِلَّا عَمَرْتَهٗ

WA LAA JAAHAN ILLAA A’MARTAHU

Nor any (spiritual) status but that You cause to prosper,

وَلَا فَسَادًا اِلَّا اَصْلَحْتَهٗ

WA LAA FASAADAN ILLAA ASLAHTAHU

Nor any corruption but that which You correct,

وَلَا اَمَلًا اِلَّا بَلَّغْتَهٗ

WA LAA AMALAN ILLAA BALLAGTAHU

Nor any wish but that You fulfill,

وَلَا دُعَاءً اِلَّا اَجَبْتَهٗ

WA LAA DOA’A-AN ILLAA AJABTAHU

Nor any supplication but that You answer,

وَلَا مَضِيْقًا اِلَّا فَرَّجْتَهٗ

WA LAA MAZEEQAN ILLAA FARRAJTAHU

Nor any pressure but that You relieve,

وَلَا شَمْلًا اِلَّا جَمَعْتَهٗ

WA LAA SHAMLAN ILLAA JAMA’TAHU

Nor any dispersed (believers) but that You reunify,

وَلَا اَمْرًا اِلَّا اَتْمَمْتَهٗ

WA LAA AMRAN ILLAA ATMAMTAHU

Nor any matter but that You complete,

وَلَا مَالًا اِلَّا كَثَّرْتَهٗ

WA LAA MAALAN ILLAA KASSARTAHU

Nor any wealth but that You increase,

وَلَا خُلْقًا اِلَّا حَسَّنْتَهٗ

WA LAA KHULQAN ILLAA HASSANTAHU

Nor any character but that You improve,

وَلَا اِنْفَاقًا اِلَّا اَخْلَفْتَهٗ

WA LAA INFAAQAN ILLAA AKHLAFTAHU

Nor any charity but that You repay,

وَلَا حَالًا اِلَّا عَمَرْتَهٗ

WA LAA HAALAN ILLAA A’MARTAHU

Nor any condition but that You cause to improve,

وَلَا حَسُوْدًا اِلَّا قَمَعْتَهٗ

WA LAA HASOODAN ILLAA QAMA’TAHU

Nor any envious (one) but that You suppress,

وَلَا عَدُوًّا اِلَّا اَرْدَيْتَهٗ

WA LAA A’DUWWAN ILLAA ARDAYTAHU

Nor any enemy but that You destroy,

وَلَا شَرًّا اِلَّا كَفَيْتَهٗ

WA LAA SHARRAN ILLAA KAFAYTAHU

Nor any evil but that You suffice,

وَلَا مَرَضًا اِلَّا شَفَيْتَهٗ

WA LAA MARZAN ILLAA SHAFAYTAHU

Nor any ailment but that You cure,

وَلَا بَعِيْدًا اِلَّا اَدْنَيْتَهٗ

WA LAA BAE’EDAN ILLAA ADNAYTAHU

Nor any distant (one) but that You bring near,

وَلَا شَعِثًا اِلَّا لَمَمْتَهٗ

WA LAA SHA’SAN ILLAA LAMAMTAHU

Nor any scattering but that You reunite,

وَلَا سُؤَالًا [سُؤْلًا] اِلَّا اَعْطَيْتَهٗ

WA LAA SOAALAN (SOALAN) ILLAA A’ATAYTAHU

Nor any request but that You grant.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنّيِ اَسْئَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْعَاجِلَةِ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE ASALOKA KHAYRAL A’AJELATE

O Allah! I ask You for the goodness of this transitory world,

وَثَوَابَ الْآجِلَةِ

WA SAWAABAL AAJELATE

and the reward of the hereafter.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَغْنِنِيْ بِحَلَالِكَ عَنِ الْحَرَامِ

ALLAAHUMMA AGNENEE BE-HALAALEKA A’NIL HARAAME

O Allah! Suffice me with what You made lawful from the unlawful,

وَبِفَضْلِكَ عَنْ جَمِيْعِ الْاَنَامِ

WA BE-FAZLEKA A’N JAMEEI’L ANAAME

and with Your grace from all other creatures.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنّيِ اَسْئَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE ASALOKA I’LMAN NAAFEA’N

My Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge,

وَقَلْبًا خَاشِعًا

WA QALBAN KHAASHEAN

a humble heart,

وَيَقِيْنًا شَافِيًا

WA YAQEENAN SHAAFEYAN

unequivocal certitude,

وَعَمَلًا زَاكِيًا

WA A’MALAN ZAAKEYAN

pure action,

وَصَبْرًا جَمِيْلًا

WA SABRAN JAMEELAN

beautiful patience,

وَاَجْرًا جَزِيْلًا

WA AJRAN JAZEELAN

and a bountiful reward.

اَللّٰهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِيْ شُكْرَ نِعْمَتِكَ عَلَىَّ

ALLAAHUMMAR ZUQNEE SHUKRA NE’MATEKA A’LAYYA

O Allah! Grant me gratitude of Your blessing upon me,

وَزِدْ فِيْ اِحْسَانِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ اِلَىَّ

WA ZID FEE EHSAANEKA WA KARAMEKA ELAYYA

Increase Your favor and munificence on me,

وَاجْعَلْ قَوْلِيْ فِي النَّاسِ مَسْمُوْعًا

WAJ A’L QAWLEE FINNAASE MASMOOA’N

Make my speech amongst people effective,

وَعَمَلِيْ عِنْدَكَ مَرْفُوْعًا

WA A’MALEE I’NDAKA MARFOOA’N

my deeds elevated and worthy of being delivered to You,

وَاَثَرِيْ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ مَتْبُوْعًا

WA ASAREE FIL KHAYRAATE MATBOOA’N

my righteous works followed (by others),

وَعَدُوِّيْ مَقْمُوْعًا

WA A’DUWWEE MAQMOOA’N

and my enemy quelled,

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْاَخْيَارِ فِيْ آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ وَاَطْرَافِ النَّهَارِ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADENIL AKHYAARE FEE AANAAIL LAYLE WA ATRAAFIN NAHAARE

O Allah! Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the best of the creations, day and night,

وَاكْفِنِيْ شَرَّ الْاَشْرَارِ

WAK FENI SHARRAL ASHRAARE

Spare me from the evil of the wicked,

وَطَهِرْنِيْ مِنَ الذُّنُوْبِ وَالْاَوْزَارِ

WA TAHHIRNEE MENAZ ZONOOBE WAL AWZAARE

Purify me from sins and burdens,

وَاَجِرْنِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ

WA AJIRNEE MENAN NAARE

Give me refuge from Hell-fire,

وَاَحِلَّنِيْ دَارَالْقَرَارِ

WA AHILLANI DAARAL QARAARE

Settle me in the House of rest (Paradise),

وَاغْفِرْ لِيْ وَلِجَمِيْعِ اِخْوَانِيْ فِيْكَ وَاَخَوَاتِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ

WAGH FIR LEE WA LE-JAMEE-E’ IKHWAANEE FEEKA WA AKHAWAATEYAL MOAMENEENA WAL MOAMENAATE

And forgive me and all my faithful brothers and sisters,

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ.

BE-RAHMATEKA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA.

Supplication in the Qunut of the Prayer after Ziyarat

Then stand beside the upper side of the grave, face towards the Qibla and perform a two-unit Ziyarat prayer. Recite Chapter 21 (al-Anbiya) in the first unit and Chapter 59 (al-Hashr) in the second unit of the prayer, and recite the following supplication in the Qunut of the prayer:

لَااِلٰهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْحَلِيْمُ الْكَرِيْمُ

LAA ELAAHA ILLAL LAAHUL HALEEMUL KAREEMO

There is no deity but Allah, the forbearing, the generous.

لَا اِلٰهَ اِلاَّاللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيْمُ

LAA ELAAHA ILLAL LAAHUL A’LIYYUL A’ZEEMO

There is no deity but Allah, the supreme, the great.

لَا اِلٰهَ اِلاَّاللهُ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَالْاَرَضِيْنَ السَّبْعِ

LAA ELAAHA ILLAL LAAHO RABBUS SAMAAWAATIS SAB-E’ WAL ARAZEENAS SAB-E’

There is no deity but Allah, the Lord of the seven heavens and the seven earths,

وَمَا فِيْهِنَّ وَما بَيْنَهُنَّ

WA MAA FEEHINNA WA MAA BAYNAHUNNA

and whatever is in them and whatever is between them.

خِلَافًا لِاَعْدَائِهٖ

KHELAAFAN LE-A-A’DAA-EHI

(By this, I am) opposing (the belief of) His enemies,

وَتَكْذِيْبًا لِمَنْ عَدَلَ بِهٖ

WA TAKZEEBAN LEMAN A’DALA BEHI

disavowing whomever has turned away from Him,

وَاِقْرَارًا لِرُبُوبِيَّتِهٖ

WA IQRAARAN LE-ROBOOBIYYATEHI

confessing His Lordship,

وَخُضُوْعًا لِعِزَّتِهِ

WA KHOZOO-A’N LE-I’ZZATEHIL

and surrendering to His majesty.

الْاَوَّلُ بِغَيْرِ اَوَّلٍ

AWWALO BE-GHAYRE AWWALIN

He is the first other than being the first (in number).

وَالْآخِرُ اِلٰى غَيْرِ آخِرٍ

WAL AAKHERO ELAA GHAYRE AAKHERENIZ

He is the last without having an end.

الظَّاهِرُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ بِقُدْرَتِهِ

ZAAHERO A’LAA KULLE SHAY-IN BE-QUDRATEHIL

He is dominant (Zahir) over everything by His power.

الْبَاطِنُ دُوْنَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ بِعِلْمِهٖ وَلُطْفِهٖ

BAATENO DOONA KULLE SHAY-IN BE-I’LMEHI WA LUTFEHI

He is hidden (Batin) as He knows underneath of every thing by His knowledge and His subtlety.

لَا تَقِفُ الْعُقُوْلُ عَلٰى كُنْهِ عَظَمَتِهٖ

LAA TAQEFUL O’QOOLO A’LAA KUNHE A’ZAMATEHI

Intellects cannot comprehend the depth of His grandeur.

وَلَا تُدْرِكُ الْاَوْهَامُ حَقِيْقَةَ مَاهِيَّتِهٖ

WA LAA TUDREKUL AWHAAMO HAQEETATA MAAHIYYATEHI

Thoughts cannot grasp the reality of His Essence.

وَلَا تَتَصَوَّرُ الْاَنْفُسُ مَعَانِيَ كَيْفِيَّتِهٖ

WA LAA TATASAWWARUL ANFOSO MA-A’ANEYA KAYFIYYATEHI

Souls cannot imagine the meanings of His (created) qualities.

مُطَّلِعًا عَلَى الضَّمَائِرِ

MUTTALE-A’N A’LAZ ZAMAA-ERE

He knows well the innermost thoughts (of His servants),

عَارِفًا بِالسَّرَائِرِ

A’AREFAN BIS-SARAA-ERE

is cognizant of the secrets,

يَعْلَمُ خائِنَةَ الْاَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِى الصُّدُوْرُ

YA’LAMO KHAAENATAL A-A’YONE WA MAA TUKHFIS SODOORO

and knows the treachery of the eyes, and all that the hearts (of men) conceal.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اُشْهِدُكَ عَلٰى تَصْدِيْقِيْ رَسُولَكَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهٖ وَاِيْمَانِيْ بِهٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE USH-HEDOKA A’LAA TASDEEQEE RASOOLAKA SALLAL LAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHI WA EEMAANEE BEHI

My Allah! I bear You as witness of my acknowledgement of Your Messenger (s.a.w.a.) and my faith in him,

وَعِلْمِيْ بِمَنْزِلَتِهٖ

WA I’LMEE BE-MANZELATEHI

and my recognition of his status.

وَاِنِّي اَشْهَدُ اَنَّهُ النَّبِيُّ الَّذِيْ نَطَقَتِ الْحِكْمَةُ بِفَضْلِهٖ

WA INNEE ASH-HADO ANNAHUN NABIYYUL LAZEE NATAQATIL HIKMATO BE-FAZLEHI

I bear witness that he was the Prophet by whose favor wisdom was given voice,

وَبَشَّرَتِ الْاَنْبِيَاءُ بِهٖ

WA BASHSHARTIL ANBEYAAO BEHI

of whom (previous) prophets gave glad tidings,

وَدَعَتْ اِلَى الْاِقْرَارِ بِمَا جَاءَ بِهٖ

WA DA-A’T ELAL IQRAARE BEMAA JAA-A BEHI

called people to admit what he brought (from the Lord),

وَحَثَّتْ عَلٰى تَصْدِيْقِهٖ

WA HASSAT A’LAA TASDEEQEHI

and urged people to acknowledge him,

بِقَوْلِهٖ تَعَالٰى: «اَلَّذي يَجِدُوْنَهٗ مَكْتُوْبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرٰيةِ وَالْاِنْجِيْلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَيَنْهٰيهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَائِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ اِصْرَهُمْ وَالْاَغْلَالَ الَّتِيْ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ»

BE-QAWLEHI TA-A’ALAA: “ALLAZEE YAJEDOONAHU MAKTOOBAN I’NDAHUM FIT TAWRAATE WAL INJEELE YAAMOROHUM BIL-MA’ROOFE WA YANHAAHUM A’NIL MUNKARE WA YOHILLO LAHOMUT TAYYEBAATE WA YOHARREMO A’LAYHEMUL KHABAA-ESA WA YA-ZA-O’ A’NHUM ISRAHUM WAL AGHLAALAL LATEE KAANAT A’LAYHIM.”

according to His saying, the most high, “… he, whom they find mentioned in their Torah and the Gospels, who commands them virtuous acts and forbids them evil, allows them as lawful the good (and pure) things, prohibits them from impurities, and releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them ...”

فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُوْلِكَ اِلَى الثَّقَلَيْنِ

FA-SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN RASOOLEKA ELAS SAQALAYNE

Thus, bless Muhammad, Your messenger to both masses (of human and Jinn),

وَسَيِّدِ الْاَنْبِيَاءِ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ

WA SAYYEDIL AMBIYAA-IL MUSTAFAYNA

the master of the chosen prophets,

وَعَلٰى اَخِيْهِ وَابْنِ عَمِّهٖ

WA A’LAA AKHEEHE WAB NE A’MMEHIL

and (bless) his brother and his cousin,

اللَّذَيْنِ لَمْ يُشْرِكَا بِكَ طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ اَبَدًا

LAZAYNE LAM YUSHREKAA BEKA TARFATA A’YNIN ABADAN

neither of whom ever took associates with You (in worship) even for one moment,

وَعَلٰى فاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

WA A’LAA FAATEMATAZ ZAHRAA-E SAYYEDATE NESAA-IL A’ALAMEENA

and (bless) Fatima, the radiant, and the chief of the ladies of the worlds,

وَعَلٰى سَيِّدَىْ شَبَابِ اَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ

WA A’LAA SAYYEDAY SHABAABE AHLIL JANNATIL HASANE WAL HUSAYNE

and (bless) the two masters of the youth of Paradise, al-Hasan and al-Husain,

صَلَاةً خَالِدَةَ الدَّوَامِ

SALAATAN KHAALEDATAD DAWAAME

With an everlasting blessing,

عَدَدَ قَطْرِ الرِّهَامِ

A’DADA QATRIR REHAAME

equal to the number of drops of rains,

وَزِنَةَ الْجِبَالِ وَالْآكَامِ

WA ZENATAL JEBAALE WAL AAKAAME

and the weight of the mountains and hills,

مَا اَوْرَقَ السَّلَامُ

MAA AWRAQAS SALAAMO

until peace and salutations is ever exchanged,

وَاخْتَلَفَ الضِّيَاءُ وَالظَّلَامُ

WAKH TALAFAZ ZEYAA-O WAZ ZALAAMO

and brightness (of day) and darkness (of night) are replaced.

وَعَلٰى آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ الْاَئِمَّةِ الْمُهْتَدِيْنَ

WA A’LAA AALEHIT TAAHERENAL A-IMMATIL MOHTADEENAZ

And (bless) his pure family, (the rest of) the guided Imams,

الذَّائِدِيْنَ عَنِ الدِّيْنِ

ZAA-EDEENA A’NID DEENE

the defenders of the religion,

عَلِيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدٍ وَجَعْفَرٍ وَمُوْسٰى وَعَلِيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلِيٍّ وَالْحَسَنِ وَالْحُجَّةِ

A’LIYYIN WA MOHAMMADIN WA JA’FARIN WA MOOSAA WA A’LIYYIN WA MOHAMMADIN WA A’LIYYIN WAL HASANE WAL HUJJATIL

(who are) Ali, Muhammad, Ja’far, Musa, Ali, Muhammad, Ali, al-Hasan, and al-Hujja,

الْقَوَّامِ بِالْقِسْطِ وَسُلَالَةِ السِّبْطِ

QAWWAAME BIL-QISTE WA SOAALATIS SIBTE

the establishers of fairness, and the grandsons of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.).

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسْئَلُكَ بِحَقِّ هٰذَا الْاِمَامِ فَرَجًا قَرِيْبًا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BEHAQQE HAAZAL EMAAME FARAJAN QAREEBAN

O Allah! I ask You by the rights of this Imam, a relief in the near future,

وَصَبْرًا جَمِيْلًا

WA SABRAN JAMEELAN

beautiful patience,

وَنَصْرًا عَزِيْزًا

WA NASRAN A’ZEEZAN

mighty triumph,

وَغِنًى عَنِ الْخَلْقِ

WA GHENAN A’NIL KHALQE

sufficiency from people,

وَثَبَاتًا فِي الْهُدٰى

WA SABAATAN FIL HODAA

steadfastness in (the path of) guidance,

وَالتَّوْفِيْقَ لِمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضٰى

WAT TAWFEEQA LEMAA TOHIBBO WA TARZAA

success in what pleases and satisfies You,

وَرِزْقًا واسِعًا حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا

WA RIZQAN WAASE-A’N HALAALAN TAYYEBAN

a sustenance that is vast, lawful, pure,

مَرِيْئًا دَارًّا سَائِغًا

MAREE-AN DAARRAN SAA-EGHAN

adequate, fruitful, pleasant,

فَاضِلًا مُفَضِّلًا صَبًّا صَبًّا

FAAZELAN MOFAZZELAN SABBAN SABBAN

abundant, superior, pouring forth,

مِنْ غَيْرِ كَدٍّ وَلَا نَكَدٍ وَلَا مِنَّةٍ مِنْ اَحَدٍ

MIN GHAYRE KADDIN WA LAA NAKADIN WA LAA MINNATIN MIN AHADIN

without any toil, trouble, and favor from anyone.

وَعَافِيَةً مِنْ كُلِّ بَلَاءٍ وَسُقْمٍ وَمَرَضٍ

WA A’AFEYATAN MIN KULLE BALAA-IN WA SUQMIN WA MARAZIN

Preserve my health against any affliction, ailment, and disease,

وَالشُّكْرَ عَلَى الْعَافِيَةِ وَالنَّعْمَاءِ

WASH SHUKRA A’LAL A’AFEYATE WAN NA’MAA-E

Grant me appreciation of well-being and blessings,

وَاِذَا جَاءَ الْمَوْتُ فَاقْبِضْنَا عَلٰى اَحْسَنِ مَا يَكُوْنُ لَكَ طَاعَةً

WA EZAA JAA-AL MAWTO FAQBIZNAA A’LAA AHSANE MAA YAKOONO LAKA TAA-A’TAN

And when the time of death arrives, take our soul while it is in the best condition of obedience to You,

عَلٰى مَا اَمَرْتَنَا مُحَافِظِيْنَ حَتّٰى تُؤَدِّيَنَا اِلٰى جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيْمِ

A’LAA MAA AMARTANAA MOHAAFEZEENA HATTAA TO-ADDEYANAA ELAA JANNAATIN NA-E’EME

And while observing what You commanded, so that You lead us to the Garden of blessings.

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ

BE-RAHMATEKA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA

By Your mercy, O the most merciful of the merciful!

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

My Allah! Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَاَوْحِشْنِيْ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَآنِسْنِيْ بِالْآخِرَةِ

WA AWHISH-NEE MENAD DUNYAA WA AANISNEE BIL-AAKHERATE

and estrange me from (the attractions of) the world, and make me familiar with (the affairs of) the hereafter.

فَاِنَّهٗ لَا يُوْحِشُ مِنَ الدُّنْيا اِلَّا خَوْفُكَ

FA-INNAHU LAA YOOHESHO MENAD DUNYAA ILLAA KHAWFOKA

Certainly, nothing causes alienation from this world except fear of You,

وَلَا يُؤْنِسُ بِالْآخِرَةِ اِلَّا رَجَآؤُكَ

WA LAA YOANESO BIL-AAKHERATE ILLAA RAJAAA-OKA

and nothing causes to be accustomed to the hereafter except hope for Your (mercy).

اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الْحُجَّةُ لَا عَلَيْكَ

ALLAAHUMMA LAKAL HUJJATO LAA A’LAYKA

O Allah! For You is the argument, not against You,

وَاِلَيْكَ الْمُشْتَكٰى لَا مِنْكَ

WA ELAYKAL MUSHTAKAA LAA MINKA

and to You is complained, not from You.

فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهٖ

FA-SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALEHI

Thus, bless Muhammad and his family,

وَاَعِنِّي عَلٰى نَفْسِيَ الظَّالِمَةِ الْعَاصِيَةِ

WA A-I’NNEE A’LAA NAFSEYAZ ZAALEMATIL A’ASEYATE

and assist me against my unjust and disobedient soul,

وَشَهْوَتِيَ الْغَالِبَةِ

WA SHAWATEYAL GHAALEBATE

and my dominant desire.

وَاخْتِمْ لِيْ بِالْعَافِيَةِ

WAKH TIM LEE BIL-A’AFEYATE

And conclude me with a safe and healthy end.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ اسْتِغْفَارِيْ اِيَّاكَ وَاَنَا مُصِرٌّ عَلٰى مَانَهَيْتَ قِلَّةُ حَيَآءٍ

ALLAAHUMMA INNAS TIGHFAAREE IYYAAKA WA ANAA MOSIRRUN A’LAA MAA NAHAYTA QILLATO HAYAAA-IN

O Allah! It is due to my shamelessness that I ask forgiveness while I insist on what You have forbidden.

وَتَرْكِيَ الْاِسْتِغْفَارَ مَعَ عِلْمِيْ بِسِعَةِ حِلْمِكَ تَضْيِيْعٌ لِحَقِّ الرَّجَآءِ

WA TARKEYAL ISTEGHFAARA MA-A’ I’LMEE BE-SE-A’TE HILMEKA TAZ-YEE-U’N LEHAQQIR RAJAAA-E

On the other hand, if I do not ask for forgiveness with my knowledge of Your abundant forbearance, it will be wasting the right of hope (to You).

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ ذُنُوْبِيْ تُؤْيِسُنِيْ اَنْ اَرْجُوَكَ

ALLAAHUMMA INNA ZONOOBEE TOAYESONEE AN ARJOWAKA

My Allah! (due to my weak faith) my sins discourage me from requesting You,

وَاِنَّ عِلْمِيْ بِسِعَةِ رَحْمَتِكَ يَمْنَعُنِيْ اَنْ اَخْشَاكَ

WA INNA I’LMEE BE-SE-A’TE RAHMATEKA YAMNA-O’NEE AN AKHSAAKA

and my knowledge about Your vast mercy prevents me from fearing You.

فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

FA-SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

Thus, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَصَدِّقْ رَجَائِيْ لَكَ

WA SADDIQ RAJAA-EE LAKA

and confirm my hope in You,

وَكَذِّبْ خَوْفِيْ مِنْكَ

WA KAZZIB KHAWFEE MINKA

negate my fear of You,

وَكُنْ لِيْ عِنْدَ اَحْسَنِ ظَنِّيْ بِكَ يَا اَكْرَمَ الْاَكْرَمِيْنَ

WA KUN LEE I’NDA AHSANE ZANNEE BEKA YAA AKRAMAL AKRAMEENA

and be for me according to the best of what I expect and believe about You, O the most generous of the generous!

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاَيِّدْنِيْ بِالْعِصْمَةِ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN WA AYYIDNEE BIL-I’SMATE

O Allah! Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and support me by protection (from sins),

وَاَنْطِقْ لِسَانِيْ بِالْحِكْمَةِ

WA ANTIQ LESAANEE BIL-HIKMATE

Make my tongue speak wisdom,

وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِمَّنْ يَنْدَمُ عَلٰى ما ضَيَّعَهٗ فِيْ اَمْسِهٖ

WAJ A’LNEE MIMMAN YANDAMO A’LAA MAA ZAYYA-A’HU FEE AMSEHI

Place me among those who regret what they wasted yesterday,

وَلَا يَغْبَنُ حَظَّهٗ فِيْ يَوْمِهٖ

WA LAA YAGHBANO HAZZAHU FEE YAWMEHI

do not aggrieve their portion today,

وَلَا يَهُمُّ لِرِزْقِ غَدِهٖ

WA LAA YAHUMMO LE-RIZQE GHADEHI

and do not worry about the sustenance of tomorrow.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ الْغَنِيَّ مَنِ اسْتَغْنٰى بِكَ وَافْتَقَرَ اِلَيْكَ

ALLAAHUMMA INNAL GHANIYYA MANIS TAGHNAA BEKA WAF TAQARA ELAYKA

O Allah! Certainly, rich is he who suffices himself with You and considers himself in need of You,

وَالْفَقِيْرَ مَنِ اسْتَغْنٰى بِخَلْقِكَ عَنْكَ

WAL FAQEERO MANIS TAGHNAA BE-KHALQEKA A’NKA

and poor is he who feels that he can suffice himself through Your creation without You.

فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

FA-SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

Thus, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَاَغْنِنْي عَنْ خَلْقِكَ بِكَ

WA AGHNENEE A’N KHALQEKA BEKA

and suffice me from Your creation by Yourself,

وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِمَّنْ لَا يَبْسُطُ كَفًّا اِلَّا اِلَيْكَ

WAJ A’LNEE MIMMAN LAA YABSOTO KAFFAN ILLAA ELAYKA

and put me amongst those who do not extend their hand except towards You.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ الشَّقِيَّ مَنْ قَنَطَ وَاَمَامَهُ التَّوْبَةُ وَوَرَآءَهُ الرَّحْمَةُ

ALLAAHUMMA INNASH SHAQIYYA MAN QANATA WA AMAAMAHUT TAWBATO WA WARAAA-AHUR RAHMATO

My Allah! Certainly, wretched is he who despairs while repentance is placed before him and mercy is after him,

وَاِنْ كُنْتُ ضَعِيْفَ الْعَمَلِ فَاِ نِّيْ فِيْ رَحْمَتِكَ قَوِيُّ الْاَمَلِ

WA IN KUNTO ZA-E’EFAL A’MALE FA-INNEE FEE RAHMATEKA QAWIYYUL AMALE

Even though I have been weak in action, I have strong hope in Your mercy,

فَهَبْ لِيْ ضَعْفَ عَمَلِيْ لِقُوَّةِ اَمَلِيْ

FA-HAB LEE ZA’FA A’MALEE LE-QUWWATE AMALEE

Thus, forgive the weakness of my action in light of the strength of my hope.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ اَنْ مَا فِيْ عِبَادِكَ مَنْ هُوَ اَقْسِىْ قَلْبًا مِنِّيْ وَاَعْظَمُ مِنِّيْ ذَنْبًا

ALLAAHUMMA IN KUNTA TA’LAMO AN MAA FEE E’BAADEKA MAN HOWA AQSEE QALBAN MINNEE WA A-A’ZAMO MINNEE ZANBAN

O Allah! Even if You know there is no one amongst Your servants with harder heart and greater sins than mine,

فَاِ نِّيْ اَعْلَمُ اَنَّهٗ لَا مَوْلٰى اَعْظَمُ مِنْكَ طَوْلًا

FA-INNEE A-A’LAMO ANNAHU LAA MAWLAA A-A’ZAMO MINKA TAWLAN

I certainly know that there is no master more generous than You,

وَاَوْسَعُ رَحْمَةً وَعَفْوًا

WA AWSA-O’ RAHMATAN WA A’FWAN

with greater mercy and forgiveness.

فَيَا مَنْ هُوَ اَوْحَدُ فِيْ رَحْمَتِهٖ

FAYAA MAN HOWA AWHADO FEE RAHMATEHI

Then, O He Who is unique in His mercy!

اِغْفِرْ لِمَنْ لَيْسَ بِاَوْحَدَ فِيْ خَطِيْئَتِهٖ

IGHFIR LEMAN LAYSA BE-AWHADA FEE KHATEE-ATEHI

Forgive him, who is not unique in his mistakes.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ اَمَرْتَنَا فَعَصَيْنَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNAKA AMARTANAA FA-A’SAYNAA

O Allah! Certainly, You commanded us, but we have disobeyed,

وَنَهَيْتَ فَمَا انْتَهَيْنَا

WA NAHAYTA FAMAN TAHAYNAA

forbade us, but we did not desist,

وَذَكَّرْتَ فَتَنَاسَيْنَا

WA ZAKKARTA FATANAASAYNAA

reminded us, but we remained unmindful,

وَبَصَّرْتَ فَتَعَامَيْنَا

WA BASSARTA FATA-A’AMAYNAA

enlightened us, but we behaved blindly,

وَحَذَّرْتَ فَتَعَدَّيْنَا

WA HAZZARTA FATA-A’DDAYNAA

and warned us, but we transgressed.

وَمَا كَانَ ذٰلِكَ جَزَآءَ اِحْسَانِكَ اِلَيْنَا

WA MAA KAANA ZAALEKA JAZAA-A EHSAANEKA ELAYNAA

This was not the repayment of Your kindness to us,

وَاَنْتَ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا اَعْلَنَّا وَاَخْفَيْنَا

WA ANTA A-A’LAMO BEMAA A-A’LANNAA WA AKHFAYNAA

and You know what we have disclosed and have concealed,

وَاَخْبَرُ بِمَا نَأْتِيْ وَمَا اَتَيْنَا

WA AKHBARO BEMAA NAATEE WA MAA ATAYNAA

and You are aware of what we will do and have done.

فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

FASALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

Thus, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَلَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا بِما اَخْطَأْنَا وَنَسِيْنَا

WA LAA TO-AAKHIZNAA BEMAA AKHTAANAA WA NASEENAA

and pardon us for our mistakes and our forgetfulness,

وَهَبْ لَنَا حُقُوْقَكَ لَدَيْنَا

WA HAB LANAA HOQOOQAKA LADAYNAA

forgive us the negligence of Your rights by us,

وَاَتِمَّ اِحْسَانَكَ اِلَيْنَا

WA ATIMMAA EHSAANAKA ELAYNAA

complete Your beneficence towards us,

وَاَسْبِلْ رَحْمَتَكَ عَلَيْنَا

WA ASBIL RAHMATAKA A’LAYNAA

and cause Your mercy to descend upon us.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّا نَتَوَسَّلُ اِلَيْكَ بِهٰذَا الصِّدِّيْقِ الْاِمَامِ

ALLAAHUMMA INNAA NATAWASSALO ELAYKA BEHAAZAS SIDDEEQIL EMAAME

My Allah! We seek nearness to You by means of this truthful Imam,

وَنَسْئَلُكَ بِالْحَقِّ الَّذِيْ جَعَلْتَهٗ لَهٗ وَلِجَدِّهٖ رَسُولِكَ وَلِاَبَوَيْهِ عَلِيٍّ وَفَاطِمَةَ اَهْلِ بَيْتِ الرَّحْمَةِ

WA NAS-ALOKA BIL-HAQQIL LAZEE JA-A’LTAHU LAHU WA LE-JADDEHI RASOOLEKA WA LE-ABAWAYHE A’LIYYIN WA FAATEMATA AHLE BAYTIR RAHMATE

and request You by the rights that You have placed for him, his grandfather, his parents, Ali and Fatima, the household of mercy,

اِدْرَارَ الرِّزْقِ الَّذِيْ بِهٖ قِوَامُ حَيَاتِنَا وَصَلَاحُ اَحْوَالِ عِيَالِنَا

IDRAARAR RIZQIL LAZEE BEHI QEWAAMO HAYAATENAA WA SALAAHO AHWAALE E’YAALENAA

an abundant flow of livelihood that maintains our life and the welfare of our dependents.

فَاَنْتَ الْكَرِيْمُ الَّذِيْ تُعْطِيْ مِنْ سِعَةٍ

FA-ANTAL KAREEMUL LAZEE TO’TEE MIN SE-A’TE

Certainly You are the generous one who grants abundantly,

وَتَمْنَعُ مِنْ قُدْرَةٍ

WA TAMNA-O’ MIN QUDRATIN

and holds back having power (to fulfill).

وَنَحْنُ نَسْئَلُكَ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ مايَكُوْنُ صَلَاحًا لِلدُّنْيا وَبَلَاغًا لِلْآخِرَةِ

WA NAHNO NASALOKA MENAR RIZQE MAA YAKOONO SALAAHAN LID-DUNYAA WA BALAAGHAN LIL-AAKHERATE

We request from You a livelihood that brings the goodness of this world and the pleasure of the hereafter,

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

O Allah! Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَاغْفِرْلَنَا وَلِوالِدَيْنَا

WAGH FIR LANAA WA LE-WAALEDAYNAA

and forgive me, my parents,

وَلِجَمِيْعِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ

WA LE-JAMEE-I’L MOAMENEENA WAL MOAMENAATE

all the believing men and women,

وَالْمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ

WAL MUSLEMEENA WAL MUSLEMAATE

and the submissive men and women,

اَلْاَحْيَآءِ مِنْهُمْ وَالْاَمْوَاتِ

AL-AHYAAA-E MINHUM WAL AMWAATE

the living of them and the dead.

وَآتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ.

WA AATENAA FID DUNYAA HASANATAN WA FIL AAKHERATE HASANATAN WA QENAA A’ZAABAN NAARE.

Give us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and shield us from the torment of the fire.

Then, complete your prayer, and recite Tasbihat (of Lady Fatima (a.s.)), and then place the side of you face on the ground and say the following forty times:

سُبْحانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَلَا اِلٰهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ وَاللهُ اَكْبَرُ

SUBHAANAL LAAHE WAL HAMDO LILLAAHE WA LAA ELAAHA ILLAL LAAHO WAL LAAHO AKBARO

Glory be to Allah! Praise be to Allah! There is no deity but Allah! Allah is greater (than being described).

Following that, ask Allah for protection, salvation, forgiveness, success in performing good deeds, and the acceptance of the actions that you do to seek His nearness and perform for His sake.

Then, embrace the inner shrine, kiss it, and say:

زَادَ اللهُ فِيْ شَرَفِكُمْ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهٗ.

ZAADAL LAAHO FEE SHARAFEKUM WAS SALAAMO A’ALAYKUM WA RAHMATUL LAAHE WA BARAKAATOHU.

May Allah increase your honor. Peace be upon you, the mercy of Allah, and His blessings.

Finally, pray for yourself, your parents and for whomever else you wish.

Imam Mahdi (a.s.) said,

“I pray for any believer who remembers the sufferings of my martyred grandfather, al-Husain (a.s.), and then prays for my relief (al-Faraj)”
