The Day of Mubaahelah

Text and Translation

Various Zikrs

The recommended acts on this day are as follows:

First: It is recommended to bathe oneself on this day.

Second: It is recommended to observe fasting.

Third: It is recommended to offer a two unit prayer that should be similar to the two unit prayer that is offered on the Eid al-Ghadeer Day in form, time, and even reward. The only difference is that Ayah al-Kursi should be recited with the two verses following it.

Fourth: It is recommended to say the supplicatory prayer that Shaykh al-Tusi and Sayyid Ibn Taaoos reported to be said after offering a two unit prayer and imploring for forgiveness seventy times. This supplicatory prayer begins with the following: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ فَاطِرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ

In order to imitate the Commander of the Believers, Imam Ali (a.s.), each believing man and woman is required to give alms on this day. It is also advisable to visit the holy tomb of Imam Ali (a.s.) and it is proper to say [al-Ziyarah al-Jaame’ah](G13) (the Comprehensive Ziyarah).

Dua al-Mubaahalah

Fifth: It is recommended to say Dua al-Mubahalah, which is similar to the famous supplicatory prayer known as Dua al-Baha’ that is said at the last hours of Ramazan nights (i.e. sahar). Nevertheless, a little difference in this supplication is noticed between the version of Shaykh al-Tusi and the version of Sayyid Ibn Taaoos. I will thus choose the earlier one that is recorded in Shaykh al-Tusi’s book of Misbah al-Mutahajjid and reported from Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.):

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ بِهَآئِكَ بِاَبْهَاهُ وَکُلُّ بَهَآئِكَ بَہِیٌّ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN BAHAAA-EKA BE-ABHAAHO WA KULLO BAHAAA-EKA BAHIYYUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most radiant of Your radiance, and all of Your radiance is radiant.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِبَهَآئِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-BAHAAA-EKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your radiance.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ جَلَالِكَ بِاَجَلِّہٖ وَکُلُّ جَلَالِكَ جَلِیْلٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN JALAALEKA BE-AJALLEHI WA KULLO JALAALEKA JALEELUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most majestic of Your majesty, and all of Your majesty is majestic.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِجَلاَلِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-JALAALEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your majesty.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ جَمَالِكَ بِاَجْمَلِہٖ وَکُلُّ جَمَالِكَ جَمِیْلٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN JAMAALEKA BE-AJMALEHI WA KULLO JAMAALEKA JAMEELUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most beautiful of Your beauty, and all of Your beauty is beautiful.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِجَمَالِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BEJAMAALEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your beauty.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَدْعُوْكَ كَمَا اَمَرْتَنِیْ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِیْ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O'OKA KAMAA AMARTANEE FAS-TAJIB LEE KAMAA WA-A'DTANEE

O Allah, I call upon You as You commanded me, so answer me as You promised me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ عَظَمَتِكَ بِاَعْظَمِهَا وَکُلُّ عَظَمَتِكَ عَظِیْمَۃٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN A'ZAMATEKA BE-AA'ZAMEHAA WA KULLO A'ZAMATEKA A'ZEEMATUN

O Allah, I ask You by the greatest of Your greatness, and all of Your greatness is great.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِعَظَمَتِكَ کُلِّهَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-A'ZAMATEKA KULLEHAA

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your greatness.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ نُوْرِكَ بِاَنْوَرِہٖ وَکُلُّ نُوْرِكَ نَیِّرٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN NOOREKA BE-ANWAREHI WA KULLO NOOREKA NAYYERUN

O Allah, I ask You by the brightest of Your light, and all of Your light is luminous.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِنُوْرِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-NOOREKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your light.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ بِاَوْسَعِهَا وَکُلُّ رَحْمَتِكَ وَاسِعَۃٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN RAHMATEKA BE-AWSA-E'HAA WA KULLO RAHMATEKA WAASE-A'TUN

O Allah, I ask You by the vastest of Your mercy, and all of Your mercy is vast.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ کُلِّهَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-RAHMATEKA KULLEHAA

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your mercy.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَدْعُوْكَ كَمَا اَمَرْتَنِیْ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِیْ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O'OKA KAMAA AMARTANEE FAS-TAJIB LEE KAMAA WA-A'DTANEE

O Allah, I call upon You as You commanded me, so answer me as You promised me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ كَمَالِكَ بِاَكْمَلِہٖ وَکُلُّ كَمَالِكَ كَامِلٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN KAMAALEKA BE-AKMALEHI WA KULLO KAMAALEKA KAAMELUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most perfect of Your perfection, and all of Your perfection is perfect.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسئَلُكَ بِكَمَالِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-KAMAALEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your perfection.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ كَلِمَاتِكَ بِاَتَمِّهَا وَکُلُّ كَلِمَاتِكَ تَآمَّۃٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN KALEMAATEKA BE-ATAMMEHAA WA KULLO KALEMAATEKA TAAAM-MATUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most complete of Your words, and all of Your words are complete.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِكَلِمَاتِكَ کُلِّهَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BEKALEMAATEKA KULLEHAA

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your words.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ اَسْمَآئِكَ بِاَكْبَرِهَا وَکُلُّ اَسْمَآئِكَ كَبِیْرَۃٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN ASMAAA-EKA BEAKBAREHAA WA KULLO ASMAAA-EKA KABEERATUN

O Allah, I ask You by the greatest of Your names, and all of Your names are great.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِاَسْمَآئِكَ کُلِّهَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-ASMAAA-EKA KULLEHAA

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your names.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَدْعُوْكَ كَمَا اَمَرْتَنِیْ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِیْ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O'OKA KAMAA AMARTANEE FAS-TAJIB LEE KAMAA WA-A'DTANEE

O Allah, I call upon You as You commanded me, so answer me as You promised me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ عِزَّتِكَ بِاَعَزِّهَا وَکُلُّ عِزَّتِكَ عَزِیْزَۃٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN I'ZZATEKA BE-A-A'ZZEHAA WA KULLO I'ZZATEKA A'ZEEZATUN

O Allah, I ask You by the mightiest of Your might, and all of Your might is mighty.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِعِزَّتِكَ کُلِّهَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-I'ZZATEKA KULLEHAA

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your might.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ مَشِیَّتِكَ بِاَمْضَاهَا وَکُلُّ مَشِیَّتِكَ مَاضِیَۃٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN MASHIYYATEKA BE-AMZAAHAA WA KULLO MASHIYYATEKA MAAZEYATUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most effective of Your will, and all of Your will is effective.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِمَشِیَّتِكَ کُلِّهَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-MASHIYYATEKA KULLEHAA

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your will.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ الَّتِیْ اسْتَطَلْتَ بِهَا عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیْءٍ وَکُلُّ قُدْرَتِكَ مُسْتَطِیْلَۃٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-QUDRATEKAL LATIS TATALTA BEHAA A'LAA KULLE SHAY-IN WA KULLO QUDRATEKA MUSTATEELATUN

O Allah, I ask You by Your power through which You have dominion over all things, and all of Your power is all-encompassing.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ کُلِّهَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BEQUDRATEKA KULLEHAA

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your power.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَدْعُوْكَ كَمَا اَمَرْتَنِیْ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِیْ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O'OKA KAMAA AMARTANEE FAS-TAJIB LEE KAMAA WA-A'DTANEE

O Allah, I call upon You as You commanded me, so answer me as You promised me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ عِلْمِكَ بِاَنْفَذِہٖ وَکُلُّ عِلْمِكَ نَافِذٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN I'LMEKA BE-ANFAZEHI WA KULLO I'LMEKA NAAFEZUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most penetrating of Your knowledge, and all of Your knowledge is penetrating.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-I'LMEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your knowledge.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ قَوْلِكَ بِاَرْضَاهُ وَکُلُّ قَوْلِكَ رَضِیٌّ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN QAWLEKA BE-ARZAAHO WA KULLO QAWLEKA RAZIYYUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most pleasing of Your speech, and all of Your speech is pleasing.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِقَوْلِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN BE-QAWLEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your speech.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ مَسَآئِلِكَ بِاَحَبِّهَا وَکُلُّهَا اِلَیْكَ حَبِیْبٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN MASAAA-ELEKA BE-AHABBEHAA WA KULLO ELAYKA HABEEBUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most beloved of the things asked from You, and all of them are beloved to You.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِمَسَآئِلِكَ کُلِّهَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-MASAAA-ELEKA KULLEHAA

O Allah, I ask You by all that is asked from You.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَدْعُوْكَ كَمَا اَمَرْتَنِیْ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِیْ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O'OKA KAMAA AMARTANEE FAS-TAJIB LEE KAMAA WA-A'DTANEE

O Allah, I call upon You as You commanded me, so answer me as You promised me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ شَرَفِكَ بِاَشْرَفِہٖ وَکُلُّ شَرَفِكَ شَرِیْفٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN SHARAFEKA BE-ASHRAFEHI WA KULLO SHARAFEKA SHAREEFUN

O Allah, I ask You by the noblest of Your honor, and all of Your honor is noble.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِشَرَفِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-SHARAFEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, indeed I ask You by all of Your honor.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ سُلْطَانِكَ بِاَدْوَمِہٖ وَکُلُّ سُلْطَانِكَ دَآئِمٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN SULTAANEKA BE-ADWAMEHI WA KULLO SULTAANEKA DAAA-EMUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most enduring of Your authority, and all of Your authority is everlasting.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِسُلْطَانِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-SULTAANEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your authority.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ مُلْکِكَ بِاَفْخَرِہٖ وَکُلُّ مُلْکِكَ فَاخِرٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN MULKEKA BE-AFKHAREHI WA KULLO MULKEKA FAAKHERUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most splendid of Your kingdom, and all of Your kingdom is splendid.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِمُلْکِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-MULKEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your kingdom.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَدْعُوْكَ كَمَا اَمَرْتَنِیْ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِیْ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O'OKA KAMAA AMARTANEE FAS-TAJIB LEE KAMAA WA-A'DTANEE

O Allah, I call upon You as You commanded me, so answer me as You promised me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّی اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ عَلَآئِكَ بِاَعْلَاهُ وَکُلُّ عَلَآئِكَ عَالٍ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN A'LAAA-EKA BE-A-A'LAAHO WA KULLO A'LAAA-EKA A'ALIN

O Allah, I ask You by the loftiest of Your exaltedness, and all of Your exaltedness is exalted.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِعَلَآئِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-A'LAAA-EKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your exaltedness.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ آیَاتِكَ بِاَعْجَبِهَا وَکُلُّ آیَاتِكَ عَجِیْبَۃٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN AAAYAATEKA BE-AA'JABEHAA WA KULLO AAAYAATEKA A'JEEBATUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most wondrous of Your signs, and all of Your signs are wondrous.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِآیَاتِكَ کُلِّهَا

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-AAA-YAATEKA KULLEHAA

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your signs.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ مَنِّكَ بِاَقْدَمِہٖ وَکُلُّ مَنِّكَ قَدِیْمٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN MANNEKA BE-AQDAMEHI WA KULLO MANNEKA QADEEMUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most ancient of Your favors, and all of Your favors are ancient.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِمَنِّكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-MANNEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your favors.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَدْعُوْكَ كَمَا اَمَرْتَنِیْ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِیْ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O'OKA KAMAA AMARTANEE FAS-TAJIB LEE KAMAA WA-A'DTANEE

O Allah, I call upon You as You commanded me, so answer me as You promised me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِمَا اَنْتَ فِیْہِ مِنَ الشُّئُوْنِ وَالْجَبَرُوْتِ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BEMAA ANTA FEEHE MENASH SHO-OONE WAL JABAROOTE

O Allah, I ask You by that majesty and omnipotence which belong to You.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِکُلِّ شَاْنٍ وَکُلِّ جَبَرُوْتٍ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BEKULLE SHAANIN WA KULLE JABAROOTIN

O Allah, I ask You by every affair and every omnipotence.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِمَا تُجِیْبُنِیْ بِہٖ حِیْنَ اَسْئَلُكَ یَا اَﷲُ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BEMAA TOJEEBONEE BEHI HEENA AS-ALOKA YAA ALLAAHO

O Allah, I ask You by that through which You answer me when I ask You: O Allah!

یَا لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ اَسْئَلُكَ بِبَهَآءِ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ

YAA LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA AS-ALOKA BE-BAHAAA-E LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA

O there is no god except You! I ask You by the radiance of ‘There is no god except You.’

یَا لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ اَسْئَلُكَ بِجَلَالِ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ

YAA LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA AS-ALOKA BE-JALAALE LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA

O there is no god except You! I ask You by the majesty of ‘There is no god except You.’

یَا لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ اَسْئَلُكَ بِلَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ

YAA LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA AS-ALOKA BE-LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA

O there is no god except You! I ask You by ‘There is no god except You.’

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَدْعُوْكَ كَمَا اَمَرْتَنِیْ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِیْ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O'OKA KAMAA AMARTANEE FAS-TAJIB LEE KAMAA WA-A'DTANEE

O Allah, I call upon You as You commanded me, so answer me as You promised me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ بِاَعَمِّہٖ وَکُلُّ رِزْقِكَ عَآمٌّ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN RIZQEKA BE-A-A'MMEHI WA KULLO RIZQEKA A'AAM-MUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most comprehensive of Your sustenance, and all of Your sustenance is comprehensive.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِرِزْقِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-RIZQEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your sustenance.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ عَطَآئِكَ بِاَهْنَاهُ وَکُلُّ عَطَآئِكَ هَنِیْٓءٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN A'TAAA-EKA BE-AHNAAHO WA KULLO A'TAAA-EKA HANEEE-UN

O Allah, I ask You by the most pleasant of Your gifts, and all of Your gifts are pleasant.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِعَطَآئِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-A'TAAA-EKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your gifts.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ خَیْرِكَ بِاَعْجَلِہٖ وَکُلُّ خَیْرِكَ عَاجِلٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA MIN KHAYREKA BE-A-A'JALEHI WA KULLO KHAYREKA A'AJELUN

O Allah, I ask You by the swiftest of Your goodness, and all of Your goodness is swift.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِخَیْرِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-KHAYREKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your goodness.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ بِاَفْضَلِہٖ وَکُلُّ فَضْلِكَ فَاضِلٌ

ALLAAHUMMA INEE AS-ALOKA MIN FAZLEKA BE-AFZALEHI WA KULLO FAZLEKA FAAZELUN

O Allah, I ask You by the most excellent of Your bounty, and all of Your bounty is excellent.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِفَضْلِكَ کُلِّہٖ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA BE-FAZLEKA KULLEHI

O Allah, I ask You by all of Your bounty.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَدْعُوْكَ كَمَا اَمَرْتَنِیْ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِیْ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O'OKA KAMAA AMARTANEE FAS-TAJIB LEE KAMAA WA-A'DTANEE

O Allah, I call upon You as You commanded me, so answer me as You promised me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَابْعَثْنِیْ عَلَی الْاِیْمَانِ بِكَ وَالتَّصْدِیْقِ بِرَسُوْلِكَ عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہِ السَّلَامُ

WAB A'SNEE A'LAL EEMAANE BEKA WAT TASDEEKE BE-RASOOLEKA A'LAYHE WA AALEHIS SALAAMO

and resurrect me upon faith in You, belief in Your Messenger — peace be upon him and his family —

وَالْوِلَایَۃِ لِعَلِیِّ بْنِ اَبِیْ طَالِبٍ وَالْبَرَآئَۃِ مِنْ عَدُوِّہٖ

WAL WELAAYATE LE-A'LIYYIB NE ABEE TAALEBIN WAL BARAAA-ATE MIN A'DUWWEHI

loyalty to Ali ibn Abi Talib, dissociation from his enemies,

وَالْاِیْتِمَامِ بِالْاَئِمَّۃِ مِنْ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَیْہِمُ السَّلَامُ

WAL EETEMAAME BIL-A-IMMATE MIN AALE MOHAMMADIN A'LAYHEMUS SALAAMO

and adherence to the Imams from the family of Muhammad, peace be upon them;

فَاِنِّیْ قَدْ رَضِیْتُ بِذَالِكَ یَا رَبِّ

FA-INNEE QAD RAZEETO BE-ZAALEKA YAA RABBE

for indeed I am pleased with that, O my Lord.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُوْلِكَ فِیْ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADIN A'BDEKA WA RASOOLEKA FIL AWWALEENA

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad, Your servant and Messenger, among the former peoples,

وَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْآخِرِیْنَ

WA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADIN FIL AAKHEREENA

and send blessings upon Muhammad among the later peoples,

وَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْمَلَاءِ الْاَعْلٰی

WA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADIN FIL MA-LAA-IL A-A'LAA

and send blessings upon Muhammad in the highest assembly,

وَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْمُرْسَلِیْنَ

WA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADIN FIL MURSALEENA

and send blessings upon Muhammad among the messengers.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعْطِ مُحَمَّدًاۨالْوَسِیْلَۃَ

ALLAAHUMMA A-A'TE MOHAMMADENIL WASEELATA

O Allah, grant Muhammad the highest station,

وَالشَّرَفَ وَالْفَضِیْلَۃَ وَالدَّرَجَۃَ الْكَبِیْرَۃَ

WASH SHARAFA WAL FAZEELATA WAD DARAJATAL KABEERATA

honor, excellence, and the greatest rank.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَقَنِّعْنِیْ بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِیْ وَبَارِكْ لِیْ فِیْمَا اٰتَیْتَنِیْ

WA QANNE'NEE BEMAA RAZAQTANEE WA BAARIK LEE FEEMAA AATAYTANEE

make me content with what You have provided for me, bless me in what You have given me,

وَاحْفَظْنِیْ فِیْ غَیْبَتِیْ وَفِیْ کُلِّ غَآئِبٍ هُوَ لِیْ

WAH FAZNEE FEE GHAYBATEE WA FEE KULLE GHAAA-EBIN HOWA LEE

and protect me in my absence and in everything absent from me.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَابْعَثْنِیْ عَلَی الْاِیْمَانِ بِكَ وَالتَّصْدِیْقِ بِرَسُوْلِكَ

WAB A'SNEE A'LAL EEMAANE BEKA WAT TASDEEQE BERASOOLEKA

and resurrect me upon faith in You and belief in Your Messenger.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَاَسْئَلُكَ خَیْرَالْخَیْرِ رِضْوَانَكَ وَالْجَنَّۃَ

WA AS-ALOKA KHAYRAL KHAYRE RIZWAANAKA WAL JANNATA

and I ask You for the best of all good: Your pleasure and Paradise;

وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ الشَّرِّ سَخَطِكَ وَالنَّارِ

WA A-O'OZO BEKA MIN SHARRISH SHARRE SAKHATEKA WAN NAARE

and I seek refuge in You from the worst of all evil: Your wrath and the Fire.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَاحْفَظْنِیْ مِنْ کُلِّ مُصِیْبَۃٍ وَمِنْ کُلِّ بَلِیَّۃٍ

WAH FAZNEE MIN KULLE MOSEEBATIN WA MIN KULLE BALIYYATIN

and protect me from every calamity, every affliction,

وَمِنْ کُلِّ عُقُوْبَۃٍ وَمِنْ کُلِّ فِتْنَۃٍ

WA MIN KULLE O'QOOBATIN WA MIN KULLE FITNATIN

every punishment, every trial,

وَمِنْ کُلِّ بَلَآءٍ وَمِنْ کُلِّ شَرٍّ وَمِنْ کُلِّ مَكْرُوْہٍ

WA MIN KULLE BALAAA-IN WA MIN KULLE SHARRIN WA MIN KULLE MAKROOHIN

every tribulation, every evil, every hateful thing,

وَمِنْ کُلِّ مُصِیْبَۃٍ وَمِنْ کُلِّ آفَۃٍ نَزَلَتْ

WA MIN KULLE MOSEEBATIN WA MIN KULLE AAAFATIN NAZALAT

every disaster, and every harm descending

اَوْ تَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ اِلَی الْاَرْضِ فِیْ هٰذِہِ السَّاعَۃِ

AW TANZELO MENAS SAMAAA-E ELAL ARZE FEE HAAZEHIS SAA-A'TE

or about to descend from the heaven to the earth in this hour,

وَفِیْ هٰذِہِ اللَّیْلَۃِ وَفِیْ هٰذَا الْیَوْمِ

WA FEE HAAZEHIL LAYLATE WA FEE HAAZAL YAWME

this night, this day,

وَفِیْ هٰذَا الشَّہْرِ وَفِیْ هٰذِہِ السَّنَۃِ

WA FEE HAAZASH SHAHRE WA FEE HAAZEHIS SANATE

this month, and this year.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَاقْسِمْ لِیْ مِنْ کُلِّ سُرُوْرٍ وَمِنْ کُلِّ بَہْجَۃٍ

WAQ SIM LEE MIN KULLE SOROORIN WA MIN KULLE BAHJATIN

and allot for me from every joy, delight,

وَمِنْ کُلِّ اسْتِقَامَۃٍ وَمِنْ کُلِّ فَرَجٍ

WA MIN KULLIS TEQAAMATIN WA MIN KULLE FARAJIN

uprightness, relief,

وَمِنْ کُلِّ عَافِیَۃٍ وَمِنْ کُلِّ سَلَامَۃٍ

WA MIN KULLE A'AFEYATIN WA MIN KULLE SALAAMATIN

wellbeing, safety,

وَمِنْ کُلِّ كَرَامَۃٍ وَمِنْ کُلِّ رِزْقٍ وَاسِعٍ حَلَالٍ طَیِّبٍ

WA MIN KULLE KARAAMATIN WA MIN KULLE RIZQIN WAASE-I'N HALAALIN TAYYEBIN

honor, lawful and wholesome abundant sustenance,

وَمِنْ کُلِّ نِعْمَۃٍ وَمِنْ کُلِّ سَعَۃٍ

WA MIN KULLE NE'MATIN WA MIN KULLE SA-A'TIN

blessing, and ease

نَزَلَتْ اَوْ تَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ اِلَی الْاَرْضِ

NAZALAT AW TANZELO MENAS SAMAAA-E ELAL ARZE

descending or about to descend from the heaven to the earth

فِیْ هٰذِہِ السَّاعَۃِ وَفِیْ هٰذِہِ اللَّیْلَۃِ

FEE HAAZEHIS SAA-A'TE WA FEE HAAZEHIL LAYLATE

in this hour, this night,

وَفِیْ هٰذَا الْیَوْمِ وَفِیْ هٰذَا الشَّہْرِ وَفِیْ هٰذِہِ السَّنَۃِ

WA FEE HAAZAL YAWME WA FEE HAAZASH SHAHRE WA FEE HAAZEHIS SANATE

this day, this month, and this year.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنْ كَانَتْ ذُنُوْبِیْ قَدْ اَخْلَقَتْ وَجْہِیْ

ALLAAHUMMA IN KAANAT ZONOOBEE QAD AKHLAQAT WAJHEE

O Allah, if my sins have worn away my honor

عِنْدَكَ وَحَالَتْ بَیْنِیْ وَبَیْنَكَ

I'NDAKA WA HAALAT BAYNEE WA BAYNAKA

before You, come between me and You,

وَغَیَّرَتْ حَالِیْ عِنْدَكَ

WA GHAYYARAT HAALEE I'NDAKA

and changed my state before You,

فَاِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِنُوْرِ وَجْہِكَ الَّذِیْ لَا یُطْفَاُ

FA-INNEE AS-ALOKA BENOORE WAJHEKAL LAZEE LAA YUTFA-O

then I ask You by the light of Your Face which is never extinguished,

وَبِوَجْہِ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِیْبِكَ الْمُصْطَفٰی

WA BEWAJHE MOHAMMADIN HABEEBEKAL MUSTAFAA

by the face of Muhammad Your chosen beloved,

وَبِوَجْہِ وَلِیِّكَ عَلِیٍّ ۨ الْمُرْتَضٰی

WA BEWAJHE WALIYYEKA A'LIYYENIL MURTAZAA

by the face of Your friend Ali al-Murtaza,

وَبِحَقِّ اَوْلِیَآئِكَ الَّذِیْنَ انْتَجَبْتَهُمْ

WA BEHAQQE AWLEYAAA-EKAL LAZEENAN TAJABTAHUM

and by the right of Your chosen saints,

اَنْ تُصَلِّیَ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

AN TOSALLEYA A'LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

that You send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَاَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِیْ مَا مَضٰی مِنْ ذُنُوْبِیْ

WA AN TAGHFERA LEE MAA MAZAA MIN ZONOOBEE

forgive my past sins,

وَاَنْ تَعْصِمَنِیْ فِیْمَا بَقِیَ مِنْ عُمْرِیْ

WA AN TA'SEMANEE FEEMAA BAQEYA MIN U'MREE

protect me during the remainder of my life,

وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْ اَعُوْدَ فِیْ شَیْءٍ مِنْ مَعَاصِیْكَ اَبَدًا

WA A-O'OZO BEKA ALLAAHUMMA AN A-OODA FEE SHAY-IN MIN MA-A'ASEEKA ABADAM

and I seek refuge in You, O Allah, from ever returning to any disobedience to You

مَّا اَبْقَیْتَنِیْ حَتّٰی تَتَوَفّٰنِیْ وَاَنَا لَكَ مُطِیْعٌ

MAA ABQAYTANEE HATTAA TATA-WAFFAAANEE WA ANAA LAKA MO-TEE-U'N

as long as You keep me alive — until You cause me to die while I am obedient to You

وَاَنْتَ عَنِّیْ رَاضٍ وَاَنْ تَخْتِمَ لِیْ عَمَلِیْ بِاَحْسَنِہٖ

WA ANTA A'NNEE RAAZIN WA AN TAKHTEMA LEE A'MALEE BE-AHSANEHI

and You are pleased with me. And that You conclude my deeds with the best of them,

وَتَجْعَلَ لِیْ ثَوَابَهُ الْجَنَّۃَ

WA TAJ-A'LA LEE SAWAABAHUL JANNATA

make Paradise my reward,

وَاَنْ تَفْعَلَ بِیْ مَآ اَنْتَ اَهْلُہٗ یَا اَهْلَ التَّقْوٰی

WA AN TAF-A'LA BEE MAAA ANTA AHLOHU YAA AHLAT TAQWAA

and deal with me according to what befits You, O Lord of piety

وَیَا اَهْلَ الْمَغْفِرَۃِ وَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

WA YAA AHLAL MAGHFERATE WA SALLE A'LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

and Lord of forgiveness. And send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وَارْحَمْنِیْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ.

WAR HAMNEE BE-RAHMATEKA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA.

and have mercy upon me by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.”
