Taweez for Curing of Coughing & against Stomach Pains

Text and Translation

An all-inclusive supplicatory prayer is reported for curing coughing. This lengthy supplicatory prayer, quoted from Bihar al-Anwar, Book of Supplicatory Prayers, begins with the following statement:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ رَجَاۤئِىْ وَ اَنْتَ ثِقَتِىْ وَ عِمَادِىْ

ALLAAHUMMA ANTA RAJAAA-EE WA ANTA THIQATEE WA I'MAADEE

O Allah, You are my hope, You are my trust, and You are my support...

A supplicatory amulet against stomach pains: the Holy Prophet (s) is reported to have advised those who suffer from colic to mix honey with hot water and recite Surah al-Fatihah seven times over the mixture, so as to seek Almighty Allah's protection against the pains.

As to Imam Ali (a), he is reported to have directed those who suffer from stomach pains to drink hot water and say the following supplicatory prayer:

يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ يَا رَحِيْمُ يَا رَبَّ الْاَرْبَابِ يَاۤ اِلٰهَ الْاٰلِهَةِ يَا مَلِكَ الْمُلُوْكِ يَا سَيِّدَ السَّادَةِ اشْفِنِىْ بِشِفَاۤئِكَ مِنْ كُلِّ دَاۤءٍ وَ سُقْمٍ فَاِنِّىْ عَبْدُكَ وَابْنُ عَبْدَيْكَ اَتَقَلَّبُ فِىْ قَبْضَتِكَ

YAA ALLAAH YAA ALLAAH YAA ALLAAH YAA RAHMAANU YAA RAHEEM YAA RABBAL ARBAAB YAA ILAAHAL AALIHAH YAA MALIKAL MULOOK YAA SAYYIDAS SAADAH ISHFINEE BI-SHIFAAA-IKA MIN KULLI DAAA-IW WA SUQMIN FA-INNEE A'BDUKA WABNU A'BDAYKA ATAQALLABU FEE QABDATIK

O Allah, O Allah, O Allah, O All-beneficent, O All-merciful, O Lord of lords, O God of gods, O King of kings, O Master of masters: heal me with Your healing from every ailment and sickness, for verily I am Your servant and the son of Your two servants, turning about within Your grasp.

For a stomach pain or any other ailment, the sick person is recommended to put his hand on the ailed place and repeat the following evil-repelling prayer:

اَعُوْذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللّٰهِ وَ جَلَالِهٖ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا اَجِدُ

A'OOZU BI-I'ZZATILLAAHI WA JALAALIHI MIN SHARRI MAA AJID

I seek refuge in the might of Allah and His majesty from the evil of what I feel.

The sick may then put the right hand on the ailed place and repeat the following three times:

بِسْمِ اللهِ

BISMILLAAH
