Taqibaat e Namaz e Asr

Text and Translation

Dua to be recited after Namaz-e-Asr

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَاللّٰهُ اَكْبَرُ

SUBHAANALLAHE WAL HAMDO LILLAAHE WA LAA ELAAHA ILLALLAAHO WALLAAHO AKBAR,

Glory be to Allah, all praise is due to Him! There is no god but Allah.

وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّۃَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَلِیِّ الْعَظِیْمِ

WA LAA HAWLA WA LAA QUWWATA ILLAA BILLAAHIL A’LIYYEEL A’ZEEM,

Allah is the greatest; and there is no might and no strength but from Allah, the most superior, the All-tremendous.

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْاٰصَالِ

SUBHAANAL LAAHE BIL GHODUWWE WAL AASAALE,

Glory be to Allah at morning and evening.

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ بِالْعَشِیِّ وَ الْاِبكَارِ

SUBHAANAL LAAHE BIL A’SHIYYE WAL IBKAARE,

Glorify His purity when you enter upon the time of evening and morning.

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ حِیْنَ تُمْسُوْنَ وَ حِیْنَ تُصْبِحُوْنَ

SUBHAANAL LAAHE HEENA TUMSOONA WA HEENA TUSBEHOON

وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ فِیْ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ

WA LAHUL HAMDO FIS-SAMAAWAATE WAL ARZE

And to Him belongs praise in the heavens and the earth,

وَ عَشِیًِّا وَ حِیْنَ تُظْھِرُوْنَ

WA ASHIYYAN WA HEENA TUZHEROON,

at night fall and mid-day.

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّۃِ عَمَّا یَصِفُوْنَ

SUBHAANA RABBEKA RABBIL I’ZZATE A’MMAA YASEFOON

Glory be to Allah and all honour for He is free from the stories ascribed (about Him).

وَ سَلَامٌ عَلَی الْمُرْسَلِیْنَ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ

WA SALAAMUN A’LAL MURSALEENA WAL HAMDO LILLAAHE RABBIL A’ALAMEENA,

Peace be on His apostles. And all praise rightly belongs to Allah – Lord of the worlds.

سُبْحَانَ ذِیْ الْمُلْكِ وَالْمَلَكُوْتِ سُبْحَانَ ذِیْ الْعِزَّۃِ وَ الْجَبَرُوْتِ

SUBHAANA ZIL MULKE WAL MALAKOOTE SUBHAANA ZIL I’ZZATE WAL JABAROOTE.

Glory be to possessor of the dominion and the Kingdom. Glory be to possessor of might and invincibility.

سُبْحَانَ الْحَیِّ الَّذِیْ لَا یَمُوْتُ

SUBHAANAL HAYYIL LAZEE LAA YAMOOTO

Glory be to the Living, the one Who will never die.

سُبْحَانَ ذِیْ الْقَائِمِ الدَّائِمِ

SUBHAANAL QAAEMID DAAA-EME.

Glory be to the All-Self-existent, the Everlasting,

سُبْحَانَ الْحَیِّ الْقَیُّوْمِ سُبْحَانَ عَلِیِّ الْاَعْلٰی

SUBHAANAL HAYYUL QAYYUM, SUBHAANAL A’LIYYIL A’ALAA

Glory be to the Living the Self-subsistent.

سُبْحَانَهٗ وَ تَعَالٰی

SUBHAANAHU WA TA-A’ALAA,

Glory be to the All-high, the Most High.

سُبُّوْحٌ قُدُّوْسٌ رَبُّنَا وَ رَبُّ الْمَلَآءِكَۃِ وَ الرُّوْحِ

SUBBOOHUN QUDDOOSUN RABBONAA WA RABBUL MALAAA-EKATE WAR ROOHE.

Glory be to Him and exalted be He, All-glory and All-holy, our Lord and the Lord of Angels and spirit.

اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّ ذَنْبِیْ اَمْسٰی مُسْتَجِیْرًا بِعَفْوِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA INNAA ZANBI AMSAA MUSTAJEERAN BE A’FWEKA

O Allah, surely my sin seeks the refuge of Thy pardon;

وَ خَوْفِیْ اَمْسٰی مُسْتَجِیْرًا بِاَمْنِكَ

WA KHAWFEE AMSAA MUSTAJEERAN BE AMNEKA

and my fear seeks the refuge of Thy peace;

وَ فَقْرِیْ اَمْسٰی مُسْتَجِیْرًا بِغِنَاكَ

WA FAQREE AMSAA MUSTAJEERAN BE GHENAKA.

and my indigence seeks the refuge of Thy self-sufficiency;

وَذُلِّیْ اَمْسٰی مُسْتَجِیْرًا بِعِزِّكَ

WA ZULLEE AMSAA MUSTAJEERAN BE-I’ZZEKA.

and my abasement seeks the refuge of Thy exaltation.

اَللّٰھُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN.

O Allah! Bless Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad,

وَ اغْفِرْ لِیْ وَارْحَمْنِیْ اِنَّكَ حَمِیْدٌ مَّجِیْدٌ

WAGHFIRLEE WAR HAMNEE INNAKA HAMEEDUN MAJEED.

and pardon me, and have mercy on me, for surely Thou art the Praised and the Glorious.

اَللّٰھُمَّ تَمَّ نُوْرِكَ فَھَدَیْتَ

ALLAAHUMMA TAMMA NOORAKA FA HADAYTA,

O Allah! As Thy light has guided me,

فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَ عَظِیْمُ حِلْمُكَ فَعَفَوْتَ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَجْھِكَ

FA LAKAL HAMDO WA A’ZOMA HILMOKA FA AFAWTA FA LAKAL HAMDO WAJHEKA,

so all praise is due to Thee; and by the bounty of Thy clemency pardon me, so all praise is due to Thee

رَبَّنَا اَكْرَمِ الْوُجُوْهِ وَ جَاھُكَ اَعْظَمُ الْجَاهِ

RABBANAA AKRAMUL WOJOOHE WA JAAHOKA A-A’ZAMUL JAAHE

O our Lord! Thou art the Most Generous of the generous and Thy Splendour is greater than all splendour,

وَ عَطَائُكَ اَفْضَلُ الْاَعْطَاءِ تُعْطِیْ

WA ATIYYATOKA, AFZALUL A’TAAA-E TO’TEE,

and Thy gift is greater in merit than all gifts.

رَبَّنَا فَتَشْكُرُ وَ تُؤْسَا فَتَغْفِرُ فَتُجِیْبَ الْمُضْطَرَّ

RABBANAA FA-TASHKORO WA TO-A’SAA FA TAGHFERO FA-TOJEEBUL MUZTARRA
