Ta'qeebaat e Namaz e Isha

Text and Translation

Dua to be recited after Namaz-e-Isha

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّهٗ لَیْسَ لِیْ عِلْمٌ بِمَوْضِعِ رِزْقِی

ALLAAHUMMA INNAHU LAYSA LEE I’LMUN BE MAWZE-E’ RIZQEE

O Allah! Verily, I lack acquaintance with the place of my sustenance;

وَاِنَّمَا اَطْلُبُهٗ بِخَطَرَاتٍ تَخْطُرُ عَلٰی قَلْبِیْ

WA INNAMAA ATLOBOHU BE-KHATARAATIN TAKHTORO A’LAA QALBEE

rather, I am seeking it owing to ideas that come upon my mind.

فَاَجُوْلُ فِیْ طَلَبِهِ الْبُلْدَانَ

FA-AJOOLO FEE TALABEHIL BULDAANA

I consequently wander in countries searching for it.

فَاَنَا فِیْمَآ اَنَا طَالِبٌ كَالْحَیْرَانِ

FA-ANAA FEEMAA ANAA TAALEBUN KAL HAYRAANE

By doing such, I am as confused as the confounded,

لَا اَدْرِیْ اَفِیْ سَهْلٍ هُوَ اَمْ فِیْ جَبَلٍ

LAA ADREE A-FEE SAHLIN HOWA AM FEE JABALIN

since I do not know whether my sustenance lies in a plain, on a mountain,

اَمْ فِیْ اَرْضٍ اَمْ فِیْ سَمَآءٍ

AM FEE ARZIN AM FEE ARZIN AM FEE SAMAAA-IN

on the ground, in the sky,

اَمْ فِیْ بَرٍّ اَمْ فِیْ بَحْرٍ

AM FEE BARRIN AM FEE BAHRIN

on lands, in seas,

وَعَلٰی یَدَیْ مَنْ وَمِنْ قِبَلِ مَنْ

WA A’LAA YADAY MAN WA MIN QEBALE MAN

at whose hands, or who the source of it is.

وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ اَنَّ عِلْمَهٗ عِنْدَكَ

WA QAD A’LIMTO ANNA I’LMAHU I’NDAKA

I have full knowledge that You know all these,

وَاَسْبابَهٗ بِیَدِكَ

WA ASBAABAHU BE-YADEKA

the causes of them are in Your Hands,

وَاَنْتَ الَّذِیْ تَقْسِمُهٗ بِلُطْفِكَ

WA ANTAL LAZEE TAQSEMOHU BE-LUTFEKA

and it is You Who distribute it out of Your compassion

وَتُسَبِّبُهٗ بِرَحْمَتِكَ

WA TOSABBEBOHU BE-RAHMATEKA

and cause it out of Your mercy.

اَللّٰهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهٖ

ALLAAHUMMA FASALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALEHI

O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and his Household

وَاجْعَلْ یَا رَبِّ رِزْقَكَ لِیْ وَاسِعًا

WAJ-A’L YAA RABBE RIZQAKA LEE WAA-SE-A’N

and make, O Lord, Your sustenance that is provided (by You) to me expansive,

وَمَطْلَبَهٗ سَهْلًا وَمَأْخَذَهٗ قَرِیْبًا

WA MATLABAHU SAHLAN WA MA’KHAZAHU QAREEBAN

my seeking for it easy for me, and its source close to me.

وَلاَ تُعَنِّنِیْ بِطَلَبِ مَا لَمْ تُقَدِّرْ لِیْ فِیْهِ رِزْقًا

WA LAA TO-A’NNE-NEE BE TALABE MAA LAM TOQADDIR LEE FEEHE RIZQAN

Do not fatigue me by seeking that which You have not decided for me to take,

فَاِنَّكَ غَنِیٌّ عَنْ عَذَابِیْ

FA-INNAKA GHANIYYUN A’N A’ZAABEE

because You are certainly in no need for tormenting me

وَاَنَا فَقِیْرٌ اِلٰی رَحْمَتِكَ

WA ANAA FAQEERUN ELAA RAHMATEKA

while I am in full need for Your mercy.

فَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِهٖ

FA-SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALEHI

Then send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household

وَجُدْ عَلٰی عَبْدِكَ بِفَضْلِكَ

WA JUD A’LAYYA A’BDEKA BE-FAZLEKA

and confer liberally upon me, Your slave, out of Your graciousness.

اِنَّكَ ذُوْ فَضْلٍ عَظِیْمٍ.

INNAKA ZOO FAZLIN A’ZEEMIN.

You are surely the Lord of great favor.

Another Dua after Namaz-e-Isha

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اَعُوْذُ بِعِزَّۃِ اللّٰهِ وَاَعُوْذُ بِقُدْرَۃِ اللّٰهِ

A-O’OZO BE I’ZZATILLAAHE, WA A-O’OZO BE QUD-RATILLAAHE

I seek protection with the Honour of Allah; I seek protection with the Might of Allah

وَاَعُوْذُ بِمَغْفِرَۃِ اللّٰهِ وَاَعُوْذُ بِرَحْمَۃِ اللّٰهِ

WA A-O’OZO BE MAGHFERATILLAAHE WA A-O’OZO BE RAMATILLAAHE,

I seek protection with the forgiveness of Allah I seek protection with the mercy of Allah

وَاَعُوْذُ بِسُلْطَانِ اللّٰهِ الَّذِیْ ھُوَ عَلٰی كُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٍ

WA A-O’OZO BE SULTAANILLAAHILLAZEE, HOWA A’LAA KULLE SHAY-IN QADEER,

I seek protection with the Authority of Allah who is All Powerful over everything

وَاَعُوْذُ بِجَمِیْعِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِیْدٍ وَسُلْطَانٍ مَرِیْدٍ

WA A-O’OZO BE KARAMILLAAHE WA A-O’OZO BE JAM-ILLAAHE MIN SHARRE KULLE JABBAARIN A’NEED WASH SHAYTANIM MAREED

I seek protection with the Grace of Allah: and I seek protection with All-Prevalent Allah from the evil of every insolent tyrant and the despised Devil,

وَكُلِّ مُخْتَالٍ وَسَارِقٍ وَعَارِضٍ وَمِنْ شَرِّ السَّامَّۃِ وَالْحَامَّۃِ وَالْعَامَّۃِ

WA KULLE MUGHTAALIN WA SAAREQIN WA AAREZIN WA MIN SHARRIS SAAM-MATE VAL HAAM-MATE WAL LAAM-MATE

every Killer, thief and every one approaching (to harm); and from the evil of poisonous (animals), Vermin’s and those causing in-jury;

وَمِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّۃٍ صَغِیْرَۃٍ وَكَبِیْرَۃٍ بِلَیْلٍ وَنَھَارٍ

WA MIN SHARRE KULLE DAAB-BATIN SAGHEERATIN AW KABEERATIN, BE LAYLIN WA NAHAARIN,

and from the evil of every animal, whether small or big, by night and by day;

وَمِنْ شَرِّ فُسَّاقِ الْعَرَبِ وَالْعَجَمِ وَفُجَّارِھِمْ

WA MIN SHARRE FUSSAQIL A’RABE WAL A’JAME WA FUJ-JAAREHIM

and from the evil of the transgressors of Arabs and non-Arabs; and of loose-conduct from among them;

وَمِنْ شَرِّ فَسَقَۃِ الْجِنِّ وَالْاِنْسِ

WA MIN SHARRE FASAQATIL JINNE WAL-INSE,

and from the evil of the transgressors from among the genil and men;

وَمِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّۃٍ اَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِیَتِھَا

WA MIN SHARRE KULLE DAABBATIN ANTA AAKHEZOON BE NAASEYATEHAA,

and from the evil of every animal Thou takest by its fore-lock

اِنَّ رَبِّیْ عَلٰی صَرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِیْمٍ.

INNA RABBI A’LAA SERAATIM MUSTAQEEM.

indeed my Lord is on the right path.
