Second Ziyarah; Ziyarah of Aminullah (The Trustee of Allah)

Text and Translation

Ziyarat-e-Aminullah

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا اَمِيْنَ اللهِ فِىْ اَرْضِهٖ

Peace be on You, O the trustee of Allah on His earth

وَحُجَّتَهٗ عَلٰى عِبَادِهٖ

and His Proof over His servants

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا اَمِيْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

Peace be on you, O Ameerul Mu’mineen

اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ جَاهَدْتَ فِى اللهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهٖ

I bear witness that, you strived in the way of Allah what is due

وَعَمِلْتَ بِكِتَابِهٖ وَاتَّبَعْتَ سُنَنَ نَبِيِّهٖ

and you acted upon His Book, and followed the ways of His Prophet

صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ حَتّٰى دَعَاكَ اللهُ اِلٰى جِوَارِهٖ

blessings of Allah be on him and his family, until Allah called You to His side

فَقَبَضَكَ اِلَيْهِ بِاِخْتِيَارِهٖ وَاَلْزَمَ اَعْدَآئَكَ

So He took you to Him by His choice, and made incumbent upon your enemies

الْحُجَّةَ مَعَ مَا لَكَ مِنَ الْحُجَجِ الْبَالِغَةِ عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ خَلْقِهٖ

the proof, with what you have of the considerable proofs over all of His creation

اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاجْعَلْ نَفْسِىْ مُطْمَئِنَّةً بِقَدَرِكَ

O Allah, then make my soul, satisfied with Your decree

رَآضِيَةً بِقَضَآئِكَ مُوْلَعَةً بِذِكْرِكَ وَدُعَآئِكَ

pleased with what You have destined for me, fond of Your remembrance and supplications

مُحِبَّةً لِصَفْوَةِ اَوْلِيَآئِكَ

loving Your chosen friends

مَحْبُوْبَةً فِىْ اَرْضِكَ وَسَمَآئِكَ

(Let me be) well liked on Your earth and in Your heavens

صَابِرَةً عَلٰى نُزُوْلِ بَلَآئِكَ

patient when You send down afflictions

شَاكِرَةً لِفَوَاضِلِ نَعْمَآئِكَ

grateful for Your gracious blessings

ذَاكِرَةً لِسَوَابِغِ اٰلَآئِكَ

remembering Your abundant bounties

مُشْتَاقَةً اِلىٰ فَرْحَتِ لِقَآئِكَ

yearning for the happiness of meeting with You

مُتَزَوِّدَةًۨ الْتَّقْوىٰ لِيَوْمِ جَزَائِكَ

equipped with piety for the day of Your reward

مُسْتَنَّةً بِسُنَنِ اَوْلِيَآئِكَ

following the manners of Your friends

مُفَارِقَةً لِاَخْلَاقِ اَعْدَآئِكَ

avoiding the manners of Your enemies

مَشْغُوْلَةً عَنِ الدُّنْيَا بِحَمْدِكَ وَثَنَآئِكَ

diverted from the (love of) world by Your remembrance and Your praise.

This part of the Ziyarat was read by Imam Sajjad (a.s.) while resting his cheek on the grave of Imam Ali (a.s.)

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ قُلُوْبَ الْمُخْبِتِيْنَ اِلَيْكَ وَالِهَةٌ

O Allah, the hearts of those who humble themselves before You, are full of amazement

وَسُبُلَ الرَّاغِبِيْنَ اِلَيْكَ شَارِعَةٌ

the paths of those who desire You are fixed

وَاَعْلَامَ الْقَاصِدِيْنَ اِلَيْكَ وَاضِحَةٌ

The signs for those who seek You are clear

وَاَفْئِدَةَ الْعَارِفِيْنَ مِنْكَ فَازِعَةٌ

The hearts of those who know You, are empty of other than You

وَاَصْوَاتَ الدَّاعِيْنَ اِلَيْكَ صَاعِدَةٌ

The sounds of those who call You rise to You

وَاَبْوَابَ الْاِجَابَةِ لَهُمْ مُفَتَّحَةٌ

and the gates of answers are open for them

وَدَعْوَةَ مَنْ نَاجَاكَ مُسْتَجَابَةٌ

The prayer of the one who whispers to you is answered.

وَتَوْبَةَ مَنْ اَنَابَ اِلَيْكَ مَقْبُوْلَةٌ

The repentance of the one who turns to You is accepted

وَعَبْرَةَ مَنْ بَكٰى مِنْ خَوْفِكَ مَرْحُوْمَةٌ

The tears of the one who weeps in Your fear are dealt with mercifully

وَالْاِغَاثَةَ لِمَنِ اسْتَغَاثَ بِكَ مَوْجُوْدَةٌ

Help is available for one who cry for help from You

وَالْاِعَانَةَ لِمَنِ اسْتَعَانَ بِكَ مَبْذُوْلَةٌ

and assistance is given generously to the one who seeks it

وَعِدَاتِكَ لِعِبَادِكَ مُنْجَزَةٌ

Your promises for Your servants are fulfilled

وَزَلَلَ مَنِ اسْتَقَالَكَ مُقَالَةٌ

The errors of the one who seeks to reduce them, are reduced

وَاَعْمَالَ الْعَامِلِيْنَ لَدَيْكَ مَحْفُوْظَةٌ

The actions of the doers (of good deeds), are preserved with You

وَاَرْزَاقَكَ اِلَى الْخَلَآئِقِ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ نَازِلَةٌ

and the provision for Your creatures descends

وَعَوَآئِدَ الْمَزِيْدِ اِلَيْهِمْ وَاصِلَةٌ

The promises of increase (in provision) reach them

وَذُنُوْبَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرِيْنَ مَغْفُوْرَةٌ

The sins of those who seek forgiveness are forgiven

وَحَوَآئِجَ خَلْقِكَ عِنْدَكَ مَقْضِيَّةٌ

The needs of Your creatures are fulfilled

وَجَوَآئِزَ السَّآئِلِيْنَ عِنْدَكَ مُوَفَّرَةٌ

The rewards of the beseechers are available in plenty, with You

وَعَوَآئِدَ الْمَزِيْدِ عِنْدَكَ مُتَوَاتِرَةٌ

The promises of increase are continuous

وَمَوَائِدَ الْمُسْتَطْعِمِيْنَ مُعَدَّةٌ

Wholesome food is prepared for the hungry

وَمَنَاهِلَ الظِّمَآءِ مُتْرَعَةٌ

and drinks are filled for the thirsty

اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاسْتَجِبْ دُعَائِىْ وَاَقْبَلْ ثَنَآئِىْ

O Allah, so answer my prayer and accept my praise

وَاجْمَعْ بَيْنِىْ وَبَيْنَ اَوْلِيَآئِىْ بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلِىٍّ وَفَاطِمَةَ

Unite me with my friends for the sake of Mohammad, and Ali, and Fatimah

وَالْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ اِنَّكَ وَلِىُّ نَعْمَآئِىْ

Hasan and Husayn (a.s.). Surely You are, the Master of my bounties

وَمُنْتَهٰى مُنَاىَ وَغَايَةُ رَجَآئِىْ

the object of my desires, the goal of my hopes

فِىْ مُنْقَلَبِىْ وَمَثْوَاىَ

in my ultimate end and my stable abode

اَنْتَ اِلٰهِىْ وَسَيِّدِىْ وَمَوْلَاىَ

(O Allah), You are my God, my Lord, and my Master

اغْفِرْ لِاَوْلِيَآئِنَا وَكُفَّ عَنَّا اَعْدَآئَنَا

Forgive (the sins of) our guardians, keep away our enemies from us

وَاشْغَلْهُمْ عَنْ اَذَانَا

and divert them from troubling us

وَاَظْهِرْ كَلِمَةَ الْحَقِّ

Let the word of Truth become manifest

وَاجْعَلْهَا الْعُلْيَا وَاَدْحِضْ كَلِمَةَ الْبَاطِلِ

and make it supreme, and let the word of falsehood be refuted

وَاجْعَلْهَا السُّفْلٰى اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

and make it low, Surely You have power over all things.
