Salawat upon the Holy Prophet

Text and Translation

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا حَمَلَ وَحْيَكَ وَ بَلَّغَ رِسَالَاتِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN KAMAA HAMALA WAHYAKA WA BALLAGHA RISAALAATIK

O Allah, bless Muhammad, as he bore Your revelation and conveyed Your messages,

وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا اَحَلَّ حَلَالَكَ وَ حَرَّمَ حَرَامَكَ وَ عَلَّمَ كِتَابَكَ

WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN KAMAA AHALLA HALAALAKA WA HARRAMA HARAAMAKA WA A'LLAMA KITAABAK

and bless Muhammad, as he permitted what You made lawful, forbade what You made unlawful, and taught Your Book,

وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَاۤ اَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَ اٰتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَ دَعَاۤ اِلٰى دِيْنِكَ

WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN KAMAA AQAAMAS SALAATA WA AATAZ ZAKAATA WA DA-A'AA ILAA DEENIK

and bless Muhammad, as he established prayer, gave the zakat, and called to Your religion,

وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَدَّقَ بِوَعْدِكَ وَ اَشْفَقَ مِنْ وَعِيْدِكَ

WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN KAMAA SADDAQA BI-WA'DIKA WA ASHFAQA MIN WA-E'EDIK

and bless Muhammad, as he believed in Your promise and feared Your threat,

وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا غَفَرْتَ بِهِ الذُّنُوْبَ وَ سَتَرْتَ بِهِ الْعُيُوْبَ وَ فَرَّجْتَ بِهِ الْكُرُوْبَ

WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN KAMAA GHAFARTA BIHIZ ZUNOOBA WA SATARTA BIHIL U'YOOBA WA FARRAJTA BIHIL KUROOB

and bless Muhammad, as through him You forgave sins, concealed faults, and relieved distresses,

وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا دَفَعْتَ بِهِ الشَّقَاۤءَ وَ كَشَفْتَ بِهِ الْغَمَّاۤءَ وَ اَجَبْتَ بِهِ الدُّعَاۤءَ وَ نَجَّيْتَ بِهِ مِنَ الْبَلَاۤءِ

WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN KAMAA DAFA-A'TA BIHISH SHAQAAA-A WA KASHAFTA BIHIL GHAMMAAA-A WA AJABTA BIHID DUA-A'AA-A WA NAJJAYTA BIHI MINAL BALAAA-I

and bless Muhammad, as through him You warded off misery, dispelled anguish, answered supplication, and delivered from affliction,

وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا رَحِمْتَ بِهِ الْعِبَادَ وَ اَحْيَيْتَ بِهِ الْبِلَادَ وَ قَصَمْتَ بِهِ الْجَبَابِرَةَ وَ اَهْلَكْتَ بِهِ الْفَرَاعِنَةَ

WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN KAMAA RAHIMTA BIHIL I'BAADA WA AHYAYTA BIHIL BILAADA WA QASAMTA BIHIL JABAABIRATA WA AHLAKTA BIHIL FARAA-I'NAH

and bless Muhammad, as through him You had mercy on Your servants, revived the lands, crushed the tyrants, and destroyed the pharaohs,

وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَاۤ اَضْعَفْتَ بِهِ الْاَمْوَالَ وَ اَحْرَزْتَ بِهِ مِنَ الْاَهْوَالِ وَ كَسَرْتَ بِهِ الْاَصْنَامَ وَ رَحِمْتَ بِهِ الْاَنَامَ

WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN KAMAA ADA'FTA BIHIL AMWAALA WA AHRAZTA BIHI MINAL AHWAALI WA KASARTA BIHIL ASNAAMA WA RAHIMTA BIHIL ANAAM

and bless Muhammad, as through him You multiplied wealth, guarded against terrors, broke the idols, and had mercy on mankind,

وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَعَثْتَهُ بِخَيْرِ الْاَدْيَانِ وَ اَعْزَزْتَ بِهِ الْاِيْمَانَ وَ تَبَّرْتَ بِهِ الْاَوْثَانَ وَ عَظَّمْتَ بِهِ الْبَيْتَ الْحَرَامَ

WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN KAMAA BA-A'THTAHU BI-KHAYRIL ADYAANI WA A-A'ZAZTA BIHIL EEMAANA WA TABBARTA BIHIL AWTHAANA WA A'ZZAMTA BIHIL BAYTAL HARAAM

and bless Muhammad, as You sent him with the best of religions, strengthened faith through him, shattered idols through him, and glorified the Sacred House through him,

وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ الْاَخْيَارِ وَ سَلَّمَ تَسْلِيْمًا

WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIW WA AHLI BAYTIHIT TAAHIREENAL AKHYAAR WA SALLIM TASLEEMAA

and bless Muhammad and his pure, virtuous Household, and grant them peace, abundantly.
