Salawat of immense rewards

Text and Translation

Twenty-first: In reliable books, it is recorded that whoever invokes blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household by repeating the following invocation three times in the morning and three times in the evening, his sins will be forgiven, his pleasure will be kept on, his prayers will be responded, his sustenance will be expanded, he will be supported against his enemies, and he will accompany the Holy Prophet in the gardens of Paradise:

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِى الْاَوَّلِيْنَ وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِى الْاٰخِرِيْنَ وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِى الْمَلَاۤءِ الْاَعْلٰى وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِى الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعْطِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيْلَةَ وَ الشَّرَفَ وَالْفَضِيْلَةَ وَالدَّرَجَةَ الْكَبِيْرَةَ اللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اٰمَنْتُ بِمُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِهٖ وَ لَمْ اَرَهٗ فَلَا تَحْرِمْنِىْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ رُؤْيَتَهٗ وَارْزُقْنِىْ صُحْبَتَهٗ وَ تَوَفَّنِىْ عَلٰى مِلَّتِهٖ وَاسْقِنِىْ مِنْ حَوْضِهٖ مَشْرَبًا رَوِيًّا سَاۤئِغًا هَنِيْئًا لَا اَظْمَاُ بَعْدَهٗ اَبَدًا اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ اَللّٰهُمَّ كَمَاۤ اٰمَنْتُ بِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهٖ وَ لَمْ اَرَهٗ فَاَرِنِىْ فِى الْجِنَانِ وَجْهَهٗ اَللّٰهُمَّ بَلِّغْ رُوْحَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِّىْ تَحِيَّةً كَثِيْرَةً وَ سَلَامًا.

ALLAAHUMMA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMADIN FIL AWWALEENA WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMADIN FIL AAKHIREENA WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMADIN FIL MALAA-IL A'LAA WA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMADIN FIL MURSALEENA ALLAAHUMMA A'TI MUHAMMADANIL WASEELATA WASH SHARAFA WAL FAZEELATA WAD DARAJATAL KABEERATAL LAAHUMMA INNEE AAMANTU BIMUHAMMADIN WA AALIHEE WA LAM ARAHOO FALAA TAHRIMNEE YAWMAL QIYAAMATI RU'YATAHOO WARZUQNEE SUHBATAHOO WA TAWAFFANEE A'LAA MILLATIHEE WASQINEE MIN HAWZIHEE MASHRABAN RAWIYYAN SAA-IGHAN HANEE-AN LAA AZMA-U BA'DAHOO ABADAN INNAKA A'LAA KULLI SHAY-IN QADEERUN ALLAAHUMMA KAMAA AAMANTU BIMUHAMMADIN SALLAL LAAHU A'LAYHI WA AALIHEE WA LAM ARAHOO FA-ARINEE FIL JINAANI WAJHAHOO ALLAAHUMMA BALLIGH ROOHA MUHAMMADIN A'NNEE TAHIYYATAN KASEERATAN WA SALAAMAA.

O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad among the first generations; send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad among the later generations; send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad in the Highest Assembly; and send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad among the messengers. O Allah, grant Muhammad the means (al-wasilah), honour, excellence, and the lofty rank. O Allah, I have believed in Muhammad and his Household without having seen him; so do not deprive me of seeing him on the Day of Resurrection, grant me his companionship, cause me to die upon his creed, and give me to drink from his Pond a satisfying, pleasant and wholesome drink after which I shall never thirst again. Verily, You have power over all things. O Allah, just as I have believed in Muhammad, Allah's blessings be upon him and his Household, without having seen him, show me his face in the Gardens. O Allah, convey to the soul of Muhammad from me abundant greetings and peace.

This invocation of blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household has been also reported by al-Kaf’ami from Imam al-Sadiq(a.s.) adding that whoever wishes to please the Holy Prophet and his Household should invoke blessings upon them using this form of invocation.

It is worthy reminding that there are still too many supplications to be said in mornings and evenings, but not all of them can be comprised by this brief book. More ten supplications will be later on cited in this book. These supplications have been also mentioned in my book of Mafatih al-Jinan within the recommended acts on the ‘Arafat Day.

If possible, you may also say the supplicatory prayers known as Dua al-Ashraat, Dua Yastashir, Dua al-Nur, and Dua al-’Ahd all of which have been mentioned in Mafatih al-Jinan. In the same book too, within the etiquettes of the soil of Imam al-Husayn’s tomb (i.e. turbat al-husayn), I have mentioned a supplicatory prayer to be said every morning and evening while having in the hand a rosary made of clay taken from Imam al-Husayn’s tomb, because this supplicatory prayer, which begins with the following statement, saves from all fearful things:

اَصْبَحْتُ اَللّٰهُمَّ مُعْتَصِمًا بِذَمَامِكَ...

ASBAHTU ALLAAHUMMA MU'TASIMAN BIZAMAAMIK...

I have entered the morning, O Allah, holding fast to Your protection...
