Merits
During the first ten nights of Dhu'l-Hijjah, it is highly recommended to offer a two-unit prayer between Maghrib and Isha prayers, reciting in each unit Surah al-Fatihah, Surah al-Tawhid, and the verse of Wa Wa'adna (7:142).
Text and Translation
In each unit, after [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) and [Surah al-Tawhid](A116), recite the following verse ([Surah al-A'raf](A11), 7:142):
وَ وَاعَدْنَا مُوْسٰى ثَلٰثِيْنَ لَيْلَةً وَّ اَتْمَمْنٰهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيْقَاتُ رَبِّهٖۤ اَرْبَعِيْنَ لَيْلَةً
WA WAA'ADNAA MOOSAA THALAATHEENA LAYLATAN WA ATMAMNAAHAA BI-A'SHRIN FATAMMA MEEQAATU RABBIHEE ARBA'EENA LAYLAH
And We appointed with Moses thirty nights and completed them with ten, so the term of his Lord was completed, forty nights.
وَ قَالَ مُوْسٰى لِاَخِيْهِ هٰرُوْنَ اخْلُفْنِيْ فِيْ قَوْمِيْ وَ اَصْلِحْ وَ لَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيْلَ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ
WA QAALA MOOSAA LI-AKHEEHI HAAROONAKH-LUFNEE FEE QAWMEE WA ASLIH WA LAA TATTABI' SABEELAL MUFSIDEEN
And Moses said to his brother Aaron: Take my place among my people, and act righteously, and do not follow the way of the corrupters.
