Text and Translation

Offer a two-unit prayer Among the other recommended acts in Imam al-Husayn’s holy shrine is to offer a two-unit prayer at the side of the head, reciting [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) and [Surah al-Rahman](A59) in the first unit and [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) and [Surah al-Mulk](A71) (No. 76) in the second.

On the word of Sayyid Ibn Tawus, one who offers this prayer will be granted the reward of having performed an admitted and acceptable ritual pilgrimage (hajj) with the Holy Prophet (s) for twenty times.

Eleventh:Salwaat of Imam Ali (as) and Lady Fatima (sa)

Abu-Sa`id al-Mada'ini is reported to have said that he, once, came to Imam al-Sadiq ('a) and asked, “May I go for visiting the tomb of al-Husayn?” The Imam ('a) answered, “Yes, you may. Go for visiting the tomb of al-Husayn the son of Allah’s Messenger, the most immaculate of all the immaculate ones, the most infallible of all the infallible ones, and the most munificent of all those who act munificently. After you visit him, you may repeat the glorification words of the Commander of the Faithful (Amir al-Mu'minin) one thousand times while you are at the head’s side and repeat the glorification words of the Luminous Lady (i.e. al-Zahra') one thousand time while you are at the legs’ side. You may then offer a two-unit prayer reciting [Surah Yasin](A40) (No. 36) and [Surah al-Rahman](A59) (No. 55) in that prayer. If you do so, you will earn a great reward.”

When the reporter asked the Imam ('a) to teach him the glorification words of the Commander of the Faithful and those of the Luminous Lady, the Imam said: The glorification words of (Imam) `Ali are the following:

سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ تَنْفَدُ خَزَائِنُهُ

subhana alladhi la tanfadu khaza'inuhu

Glory be to Him Whose reserves never run out.

سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ تَبِيدُ مَعَالِمُهُ

subhana alladhi la tabidu ma`alimuhu

Glory be to Him Whose signs are never exterminated.

سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يَفْنَىٰ مَا عِنْدَهُ

subhana alladhi la yafna ma `indahu

Glory be to Him Whose possessions never expire.

سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُشْرِكُ احَداً فِي حُكْمِهِ

subhana alladhi la yushriku ahadan fi hukmihi

Glory be to Him Who never betakes to Himself a partner in His judgments.

سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ ٱضْمِحْلاَلَ لِفَخْرِهِ

subhana alladhi la idmihlala lifakhrihi

Glory be to Him Whose honor never vanishes.

سُبحَانَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ ٱنْقِطَاعَ لِمُدَّتِهِ

subhana alladhi la inqita`a limuddatihi

Glory be to Him Whose duration (of existence) is never interrupted.

سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ إِلٰهَ غَيْرُهُ

subhana alladhi la ilaha ghayruhu

Glory be to Him save Whom there is no god.

The glorification words of Fatimah (`a) are the following:

سُبْحَانَ ذِي ٱلْجَلاَلِ ٱلْبَاذِخِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

dhi aljalali albadhikhi al`azeem

Glory be to the Lord of majesty and exalted great

سُبْحَانَ ذِي ٱلْعِزِّ ٱلشَّامِخِ ٱلْمُنِيفِ

dhi al`izzi alshshamikhi almunif

Glory be to the Lord of honor and sublime author

سُبْحَانَ ذِي ٱلْمُلْكِ ٱلْفَاخِرِ ٱلْقَدِيمِ

dhi almulki alfakhiri alqad

Glory be to the Lord of eternal, splendid sovereign

سُبْحَانَ ذِي ٱلْبَهْجَةِ وَٱلْجَمَالِ

dhi albahjati waljamal

Glory be to the Lord of splendor and beauty

سُبْحَانَ مَنْ تَرَدَّىٰ بِٱلنُّورِ وَٱلْوَقَارِ

man taradda bilnnuri walwaqar

Glory be to Him Who is clad in light and dignity

سُبحَانَ مَنْ يَرَىٰ اثَرَ ٱلَّنمْلِ فِي ٱلصَّفَا

man yara athara alnnamli fi alssfa

Glory be to Him Who makes out the footprints of the ant on the

وَوَقْعَ ٱلطَّيْرِ فِي ٱلْهَوَاءِ

a alttayri fi alhawa

and (the exact time and place of) the bird dipping down through the

Fourteenth:Salwaat on Imam

:Among the rites to be done in the holy shrine of Imam al-Husayn ('a) is to invoke Almighty Allah’s blessings upon him. It is thus reported to stand behind the tomb at the side of the two shoulders and to invoke Almighty Allah’s blessings upon the Holy Prophet (s) and Imam al-Husayn ('a).

In his book of Misbah al-Za'ir, Sayyid Ibn Tawus has reported the following form of invocation of blessings upon Imam al-Husayn ('a) within some forms of ziyarah:

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ ٱلْمَظْلُومِ ٱلشَّهِيدِ

wa salli `ala alhusayni almazlumi alshshahidi

and send blessings upon al-Husayn, the wronged, the martyred,

قَتِيلِ ٱلْعَبَرَاتِ وَاسِيرِ ٱلْكُرُبَاتِ

qatili al`abarati wa asiri alkurubati

the victim of shed tears, and the captive of agonies

صَلاَةً نَامِيَةً زَاكِيَةً مُبَارَكَةً

salatan namiyatan zakiyatan mubarakatan

with ever-increasing, pure, and sacred blessings

يَصْعَدُ اوَّلُهَا وَلاَ يَنْفَدُ آخِرُهَا

yas`adu awwaluha wa la yanfadu akhiruha

the first of which ascend and the last of which never run out;

افْضَلَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ احَدٍ

afdala ma sallayta `ala ahadin

with the best manner that You have ever conferred upon any

مِنْ اوْلاَدِ ٱلانْبِيَاءِ وَٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

min awladi al-anbya'i walmursalina

of the descendants of the Prophets and Messengers,

يَا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالِمينَ

ya rabba al`alamina

O Lord of the worlds!

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ ٱلإِمَامِ ٱلشَّهِيدِ

allahumma salli `ala al-imami alshshahidi

O Allah, send blessings upon the Imam, the martyr,

ٱلْمَقْتُولِ ٱلْمَظْلُومِ ٱلْمَخْذُولِ

almaqtuli almazlumi almakhdhuli

the slain, the wronged, the disappointed,

وَٱلسَّيِّدِ ٱلْقَائِدِ وَٱلْعَابِدِ ٱلزَّاهِدِ

walssayyidi alqa'idi wal`abidi alzzahidi

the leading master, the worshipper, the abstemious,

وَٱلْوَصِيِّ ٱلْخَلِيفَةِ ٱلإِمَامِ ٱلصِّدِّيقِ

walwasiyyi alkhalifati al-imami alssiddiqi

the successor, the vicegerent, the leader, the veracious,

ٱلطُّهْرِ ٱلطَّاهِرِ ٱلطَّيِّبِ ٱلْمُبَارَكِ

alttuhri alttahiri alttayyibi almubaraki

the pure, the immaculate, the superb, the blessed,

وَٱلرَّضِيِّ ٱلْمَرْضِيِّ وَٱلتَّقِيِّ ٱلْهَادِي ٱلْمَهْدِيِّ

walrradiyyi almardiyyi walttaqiyyi alhadi almahdiyyi

the amiable, the pleased, the pious, the guide, the well-guided,

ٱلزَّاهِدِ ٱلذَّائِدِ ٱلْمُجَاهِدِ ٱلْعَالِمِ

alzzahidi aldhdha'idi almujahidi al`alimi

the abstemious, the defender (of Islam), the striver, the knowledgeable,

إِمَامِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ سِبْطِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَقُرَّةِ عَيْنِ ٱلْبَتُولِ

imami alhuda sibti alrrasuli wa qurrati `ayni albatuli

the leader of true guidance, the grandson of the Messenger, and the delight of the eye of the Chaste Lady.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ سَيِّدِي وَمَوْلاَيَ

allahumma salli `ala sayyidi wa mawlaya

O Allah, send blessings upon my master and chief

كَمَا عَمِلَ بِطَاعَتِكَ

kama `amila bita`atika

for he acted obediently to You,

وَنَهَىٰ عَنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ

wa naha `an ma`siyatika

warned against disobeying You,

وَبَالَغَ فِي رِضْوَانِكَ

wa balagha fi ridwanika

made all efforts to attain Your pleasure,

وَاقْبَلَ عَلَىٰ إِيمَانِكَ

wa aqbala `ala imanika

warmly received belief in You,

غَيْرَ قَابِل فِيكَ عُذْراً

ghayra qabilin fika `udhran

rejected all excuses against You,

سِرّاً وَعَلاَنِيَةً يَدْعُو ٱلْعِبَادِ إِلَيْكَ

sirran wa `alaniyatan yad`u al`ibada ilayka

called the servants to You secretly and openly,

وَيَدُلُّهُمْ عَلَيْكَ

wa yadullhum `alayka

showed them the way to You,

وَقَامَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ

wa qama bayna yadayka

undertook in obedience to You the mission

يَهْدِمُ ٱلْجَوْرَ بِٱلصَّوَابِ

yahdimu aljawra bilssawabi

of demolishing inequity with rectitude

وَيُحْيِي ٱلسُّنَّةَ بِٱلْكِتَابِ

wa yuhyi alssunnata bilkitabi

and refreshing the traditions in the (light of the) Book.

فَعَاشَ فِي رِضْوَانِكَ مَكْدُوداً

fa`asha fi ridwanika makdudan

So, he lived in fatigue for the sake of Your pleasure

وَمَضَىٰ عَلَىٰ طَاعَتِكَ وَفِي اوْلِيَائِكَ مَكْدُوحاً

wa mada `ala ta`atika wa fi awliya'ika makduhan

and passed away in obedience to You, working hard for the sake of Your Intimate Servants.

وَقَضَىٰ إِلَيْكَ مَفْقُوداً

wa qada ilayka mafqudan

He thus joined You missed (by the believers).

لَمْ يَعْصِكَ فِي لَيْلٍ وَلاَ نَهَارٍ

lam ya`sika fi laylin wa la naharin

He never disobeyed You; neither at night nor in day;

بَلْ جَاهَدَ فِيكَ ٱلْمُنَافِقِينَ وَٱلْكُفَّارَ

bal jahada fika almunafiqina walkuffara

rather, he, for Your sake, strove against the hypocrites and the unbelievers.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَٱجْزِهِ خَيْرَ جَزَاءِ ٱلصَّادِقِينَ ٱلابْرَارِ

allahumma fajzihi khayra jaza'i alssadiqina al-abrari

So, O Allah, (please) award him with the best reward of the veracious and the righteous

وَضَاعِفْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ وَلِقَاتِلِيهِ ٱلْعِقَابَ

wa da`if `alayhim al`adhaba wa liqatilihi al`iqaba

and multiply the chastisement and the punishment for those who slew him.

فَقَدْ قَاتَلَ كَرِيماً وَقُتِلَ مَظْلُوماً وَمَضَىٰ مَرْحُوماً

faqad qatala kariman wa qutila mazluman wa mada marhuman

Verily, he fought with nobility, was slain wrongly, and passed away enjoying mercy.

يَقُولُ انَا ٱبْنُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدٍ

yaqulu ana ibnu rasuli allahi muhammadin

He said to them, “I am the son of Allah’s Messenger Muhammad

وَٱبْنُ مَنْ زَكَّىٰ وَعَبَدَ

wabnu man zakka wa `abada

and the son of him who gave alms and served Allah.

فَقَتَلُوهُ بِٱلْعَمْدِ ٱلْمُعْتَمَدِ

faqataluhu bil`amdi almu`tamadi

Yet, they slew him clearly intentionally.

قَتَلُوهُ عَلَىٰ ٱلإِيمَانِ

qataluhu `ala al'imani

They slew him because of his faith;

وَاطَاعُوٱ فِي قَتْلِهِ ٱلشَّيْطَانَ

wa ata`u fi qatlihi alshshaytana

therefore, they obeyed Satan

وَلَمْ يُرَاقِبُوٱ فِيهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنَ

wa lam yuraqibu fihi alrrahmana

and never cared for the All-beneficent Lord.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ سَيِّدِي وَمَوْلاَيَ

allahumma fasalli `ala sayyidi wa mawlaya

So, O Allah, (please) send upon my master and chief

صَلاَةً تَرْفَعُ بِهَا ذِكْرَه

salatan tarfa`u biha dhikrahu

such blessings by which You raise his eminence,

وَتُظْهِرُ بِهَا امْرَهُ

wa tuzhiru biha amrahu

make prevalent his issue,

وَتُعَجِّلُ بِهَا نَصْرَهُ

wa tu`ajjilu biha nasrahu

and hasten his victory.

وَٱخْصُصْهُ بِافْضَلِ قِسَمِ ٱلْفَضَائِلِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَامَةِ

wakhsushu bi'afdali qisami alfada'ili yawma alqiyamati

And (please) endue him on the Resurrection day with the best of Your favors,

وَزِدْهُ شَرَفاً فِي اعَلىٰ عِلِّيِّينَ

wa zid-hu sharafan fi a`la `illiyyina

increase his honor to the highest degree of the Supreme Rank,

وَبَلِّغْهُ اعَلَىٰ شَرَفِ ٱلْمُكَرَّمِينَ

wa ballighhu a`la sharafi almukarramina

take him higher to the highest rank of the honored ones,

وَٱرْفَعْهُ مِنْ شَرَفِ رَحْمَتِكَ

warfa`hu min sharafi rahmatika

raise him in the honor of Your mercy

فِي شَرَفِ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

fi sharafi almuqarrabina

to the honor of the most favorable ones

فِي ٱلرَّفيعِ ٱلاعَلىٰ

fi alrrafi`i al-a`la

in the Highest Level,

وَبَلِّغْهُ ٱلْوَسِيلَةَ وَٱلْمَنْزِلَةَ ٱلْجَلِيلَةَ

wa ballighhu alwasilata walmanzilata aljalilata

grant him the right of mediation, the loftiest position,

وَٱلْفَضْلَ وَٱلْفَضِيلَةَ

walfadla walfadilata

the superiority, the excellence,

وَٱلْكِرَامَةَ ٱلْجَزِيلَةَ

walkaramata aljazilata

and the abundant privilege.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَٱجْزِهِ عَنَّا افْضَلَ مَا جَازَيْتَ إِمَاماً عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ

allahumma fajzihi `anna afdala ma jazayta imaman `an ra`iyyatihi

O Allah, (please) award him on behalf of us with the most excellent reward that You have ever given to a leader on behalf of his subjects

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ سَيِّدِي وَمَوْلاَيَ كُلَّمَا ذُكِرَ

wa salli `ala sayyidi wa mawlaya kullama dhukira

and bless my master and chief whenever he is mentioned

وَكُلَّمَا لَمْ يُذْكَرْ

wa kullama lam yudhkar

and whenever he is not.

يَا سَيِّدِي وَمَوْلاَيَ

ya sayyidi wa mawlaya

O my master and chief,

ادْخِلْنِي فِي حِزْبِكَ وَزُمْرَتِكَ

adkhilni fi hizbika wa zumratika

include me with your party and group

وَٱسْتَوْهِبْنِي مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَرَبِّي

wastawhibni min rabbka wa rabbi

and ask my and your Lord to release me as grant from Him to you,

فَإِنَّ لَكَ عِنْدَ ٱللَّهِ جَاهاً وَقَدْراً

fa'inna laka `inda allahi jahan wa qadran

for you verily enjoy a special esteem and value with Allah

وَمَنْزِلَةً رَفيعَةً

wa manzilatan rafi`atan

as well as a lofty standing:

إِنْ سَالْتَ اعْطِيتَ

in sa'alta u`tita

if you ask, He gives you

وَإِنْ شَفَعْتَ شُفِّعْتَ

wa in shafa`ta shuffi`ta

and if you intercede, He admits your intercession.

اللَّهَ اللَّهَ فِي عَبْدِكَ وَمَوْلاَكَ

allaha allaha fi `abdika wa mawlaka

By Allah I ask you to regard me, your slave and servant.

لاََ تُخَلِّنِي عِنْدَ ٱلشَّدَائِدِ وَٱلاهْوَالِ

la tukhallini `inda alshshda'idi wal-ahwali

Do not desert me at the time of ordeals and horrors

لِسُوءِ عَمَلِي وَقَبِيحِ فِعْلِي وَعَظِيمِ جُرْمِي

lisu'i `amali wa qabihi fi`li wa `azimi jurmi

because of my evildoing, misconduct, and enormous offenses.

فَإِنَّكَ امَلِي وَرَجَائِي

fa'innaka amali wa raja'i

You are verily my hope and my wish,

وَثِقَتِي وَمُعْتَمَدِي

wa thiqati wa mu`tamadi

I have confidence in you, I rely upon you,

وَوَسِيلَتِي إِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّي وَرَبِّكَ

wa wasilati ila allahi rabbi wa rabbika

and you are my means to Allah, my and your Lord.

لَمْ يَتَوَسَّلِ ٱلْمُتَوَسِّلُونَ إِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ

lam yatawassal almutawassiluna ila allahi

No means that has been made to Allah

بِوَسِيلَة هِيَ اعْظَمُ حَقّاً

biwasilatin hiya a`zamu haqqan

is greater in status,

وَلاَ اوْجَبُ حُرْمَةً

wa la awjabu hurmatan

more incumbent in sanctity,

وَلاَ اجَّلُ قَدْراً

wa la ajallu qadran

or loftier in eminence

عِنْدَهُ مِنْكُمْ اهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ

`indahu minkum ahla albayti

than yours, the Ahl al-Bayt, in the sight of Allah.

لاََ خَلَّفَنِيَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْكُمْ بِذُنُوبِي

la khallafani allahu `ankum bidhunubi

May Allah never cause me to lag behind you because of my sins

وَجَمَعَنِي وَإِيَّاكُمْ فِي جَنَّةِ عَدْنٍ

wa jama`ani wa iyyakum fi jannati `adnin

and may He join me with you in the perpetual abode of Paradise

ٱلَّتِي اعَدَّهَا لَكُمْ وَلاِوْلِيَائِكُمْ

allati a`addaha lakum wa li'awliya'ikum

that He has prepared for you and your loyalists.

إِنَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْغَافِرِينَ وَارْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

innahu khayru alghafirina wa arhamu alrrahimina

Verily, He is the best of all those who may forgive and the most merciful of all those who show mercy.

اَللَّهُمَّ ابْلِغْ سَيِّدِي وَمَوْلاَيَ

allahumma abligh sayyidi wa mawlaya

O Allah, (please) convey to my master and chief

تَحِيَّةً كَثِيرَةً وَسَلاَماً

tahiyyatan kathiratan wa salaman

abundant greetings and salutations

وَٱرْدُدْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلسَّلاَمَ

wardud `alayna minhu alssalama

and convey to us his response to our greetings.

إِنَّكَ جَوَادٌ كَرِيمٌ

innaka jawadun karimun

You are verily All-magnanimous and All-generous.

وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ كُلَّمَا ذُكِرَ ٱلسَّلاَمُ

wa salli `alayhi kullama dhukira alssalamu

And bless him whenever blessing is mentioned

وَكُلَّمَا لَمْ يُذْكَرْ يَا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

wa kullama lam yudhkar ya rabba al`alamina

and whenever it is not mentioned, O Lord of the worlds!

Within the recommended acts on the `Ashura' Day, I have cited a form of ziyarah of Imam al-Husayn ('a). At the end of this section, I will mention another invocation of blessings upon the Immaculate Imams ('a), which comprises a brief invocation of blessings upon Imam al-Husayn ('a) exclusively. So, do not miss these invocations.

Recite 3 Duas below

Thirteenth: Dua at Shrine

Granting of requests under the supreme dome of his shrine is one of the distinctive returns that Almighty Allah has exclusively given to Imam al-Husayn ('a) as one compensation for his martyrdom. Seizing this opportunity, a pilgrim is advised not to show any shortcoming in entreating Almighty Allah, turning to Him, repenting before Him, and providing one’s needs to Him.

Through the numerous forms of ziyarah that are said during visiting Imam al-Husayn’s tomb, many prayers, holding high meanings, have been mentioned to be said there. However, briefness has not allowed us to cite all these prayers here. It is most advisable to say the supplications of al-Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah, because they are the most preferable.

1.One of them is below to be said while raising one’s hands towards the sky:

اَللَّهُمَّ قَدْ تَرَىٰ مَكَانِي

allahumma qad tara makani

O Allah, You do see my place,

وَتَسْمَعُ كَلاَمِي

wa tasma`u kalami

hear my words,

وَتَرَىٰ مَقَامِي وَتَضَرُّعِي

wa tara maqami wa tadarru`i

and see you situation, imploration,

وَمَلاَذِي بِقَبْرِ حُجَّتِكَ وَٱبْنِ نَبِيِّكَ

wa maladhi biqabri hujjatika wabni nabiyyika

and seeking shelter with the tomb of Your Argument and Your Prophet’s son.

وَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ يَا سَيِّدِي حَوَائِجِي

wa qad `alimta ya sayyidi hawa'iji

You, O my Master, have already known my needs

وَلاَ يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْكَ حَالِي

wa la yakhfa `alayka hali

and none of my manners can be hidden from You.

وَقَدْ تَوَجَّهْتُ إِلَيْكَ بِٱبْنِ رَسُولِكَ

wa qad tawajjahtu ilayka bibni rasulika

I am now turning my face towards You in the name of Your Prophet’s son,

وَحُجَّتِكَ وَامِينِكَ

wa hujjatika wa aminika

You Argument, and Your trustee.

وَقَدْ اتَيْتُكَ مُتَقَرِّباً بِهِ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلىٰ رَسُولِكَ

wa qad ataytuka mutaqarriban bihi ilayka wa ila rasulika

I have come to You seeking nearness to You in his name and in the name of Your Messenger.

فَٱجْعَلْنِي بِهِ عِنْدَكَ وَجِيهاً

faj`alni bihi `indaka wajihan

So, (please), in his name, make me worthy of regard with You

فِي ٱلدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

fi alddunya wal-akhirati wa min almuqarrabina

in this world and in the Hereafter and (make me) of those drawn near to You.

وَاعْطِنِي بِزِيَارَتِي امَلِي

wa a`tini biziyarati amali

And grant me, due to this visit of mine, what I hope,

وَهَبْ لِي مُنَايَ

wa hab li munaya

endue me with my wish,

وَتَفَضَّلْ عَلَيَّ بِشَهْوَتِي وَرَغْبَتِي

wa tafaddal `alayya bishahwati wa raghbati

favor me with my desire and aspiration,

وَٱقْضِ لِي حَوَائِجِي

waqdi li hawa'iji

settle for me my needs,

وَلاَ تَرُدَّنِي خَائِباً

wa la taruddani kha'iban

do not reject me with disappointment,

وَلاَ تَقْطَعْ رَجَائِي

wa la taqta` raja'i

do not cut off my hope (in You),

وَلاَ تُخَيِّبْ دُعَائِي

wa la tukhayyib du`a'i

do not let down my prayer,

وَعَرِّفْنِي ٱلإِجَابَةِ فِي جَمِيعِ مَا دَعَوْتُكَ

wa `arrifni al-ijabata fi jami`i ma da`awtuka

show me proofs of Your response to all that which I prayed You for,

مِنْ امْرِ ٱلدِّينِ وَٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلآخِرَةِ

min amri alddini walddnya wal-akhirati

including the affairs of my religion, worldly life, and the Hereafter,

وَٱجْعَلْنِي مِنْ عِبَادِكَ

waj`alni min `ibadika

include me with Your servants

ٱلَّذِينَ صَرَفْتَ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْبَلاَيَا وَٱلامْرَاضَ

alladhina sarafta `anhum albalaya wal-amrada

from whom You have warded off misfortunes, diseases,

وَٱلْفِتَنَ وَٱلاعْرَاضَ

walfitana wal-a`rada

seditious matters, and calamities;

مِنَ ٱلذِّينَ تُحْيِيهِمْ فِي عَافِيَةٍٍ

min alladhina tuhyihim fi `afiyatin

those whom You make live in wellbeing,

وَتُميتُهُمْ فِي عَافِيَةٍ

wa tumituhm fi `afiyatin

cause to die in wellbeing,

وَتُدْخِلُهُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فِي عَافِيَةٍ

wa tudkhiluhum aljannata fi `afiyatin

allow to enter Paradise in wellbeing,

وَتُجِيرُهُمْ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ فِي عَافِيَةٍ

wa tujiruhum min alnnari fi `afiyatin

and save from Hellfire in wellbeing;

وَوَفِّقْ لِي بِمَنٍّ مِنْكَ

wa waffiq li bimannin minka

and, out of Your favor, lead me

صَلاَحَ مَا اؤَمِلَّ فِي نَفْسِي

salaha ma u'ammilu fi nafsi

to the achievement of what I hope for regarding myself,

وَاهْلِي وَوُلْدِي وَإِخْوَانِي وَمَالِي

wa ahli wa wuldi wa ikhwani wa mali

my wife, my sons, my brethren-in-faith, my properties,

وَجَمِيعِ مَا انْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ

wa jami`i ma an`amta bihi `alayya

and whatever bliss You have endowed me;

يَا ارْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمينَ

ya arhama alrrahimina

O most merciful of all those who show mercy!

2.Fifteenth:

Among the recommended acts in the shrine of Imam al-Husayn ('a) is to say the supplicatory prayer of the oppressed against the oppressor . In other words, one who has been exposed to wronging by an oppressor is advised to pray Almighty Allah with this supplicatory prayer in the holy shrine of Imam al-Husayn ('a). This supplicatory prayer, which has been recorded by Shaykh al-Tusi in his book of Misbah al-Mutahajjid to be one of the recommended acts on Fridays, is as follows:

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي اعْتَزُّ بِدِينِكَ

allahumma inni a`tazzu bidinika

O Allah, I obtain my dignity from following Your religion

وَاكْرُمُ بِهِدَايَتِكَ

wa akrumu bihidayatika

and I am honored because of You have guided me,

وَ… يُذِلُّنِي بِشَرِّهِ

wa…anun yudhilluni bisharrihi

but [so-and-so] is humiliating me by his evil,

وَيُهِينُنِي بِاذِيَّتِهِ

wa yuhinuni bi'adhiyyatihi

insulting me by harming me,

وَيُعِيبُنِي بِوَلاَءِ اوْلِيَائِكَ

wa yu`ibuni biwala'i awliya'ika

imputing dishonor to me because I am loyal to Your Representatives,

وَيَبْهَتُنِي بِدَعْوَاهُ

wa yabhatuni bida`wahu

and charging me with false claims.

وَقَدْ جِئْتُ إِلَىٰ مَوْضِعِ ٱلدُّعَاءِ

wa qad ji'tu ila mawdi`i alddu`a'i

I have come to the center of supplication

وَضَمَانِكَ ٱلإِجَابَةَ

wa damanika al-ijabata

and the guarantee of response.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍٍ

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household

وَاعِدْنِي عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّاعَةَ ٱلسَّاعَةَ

wa a`idni `alayhi alssa`ata alssa`ata

and support me against him at this very hour! At this very hour!

You may then throw yourself on the grave and say,

مَوْلاَيَ إِمَامِي

mawlaya imami

O my master and leader,

مَظْلُومٌ ٱسْتَعْدَىٰ عَلَىٰ ظَالِمِهِ

mazlumun ista`da `ala zalimihi

(I have been) oppressed and (I am) seeking your support against him who has oppressed me.

ٱلنَّصْرَ ٱلنَّصْرَ

alnnasra alnnasra

Grant me support! Grant me support!

The last statement may be repeated as many times as one breath may take.

3.Sixteenth: Short Dua at the side of Imam al-Husayn’s head- Mafatih

which has been reported by Ibn Fahad in his book of `Uddat al-Da`i:for granting of requests

يَا ابَا عَبْدِ ٱللَّهِ

ya aba `abdillahi

O Abu-`Abdullah,

اشْهَدُ انَّكَ تَشْهَدُ مَقَامِي

ashhadu annaka tashhadu maqami

I bear witness that you can now see my situation

وَتَسْمَعُ كَلاَمِي

wa tasma`u kalami

and hear my words

وَانَّكَ حَيٌّ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ تُرْزَقُ

wa annaka hayyun `inda rabbika turzaqu

and that you are alive with Your Lord and you are receiving sustenance from Him.

فَٱسْالْ رَبَّكَ وَرَبِّي فِي قَضَاءِ حَوَائِجِي

fas'al rabbka wa rabbi fi qada'i hawa'iji

So (please) ask your and my Lord to grant me my requests.

He who says this supplication will have his requested granted by Almighty Allah, God willing.

Longer Dua at the head place ( Raas Hussain)(as) of Imam- PDF

Then pray a two rakat/unit salt, in the first unit after [Sura Al Hamd](A5) recite [Sura Anbiya](A25) and in the second unit after Al Hand recite [Sura Hashr](A63), then in the qunoot recite the following dua:

لاإِلهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ الْحَليمُ الْكَريمُ ،

Lā ilāha illā Allāh al-Ḥalīm al-Karīm,

There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous,

لاإِلهَ إِلاَّاللهُ الْعَلِىُّ الْعَظيمُ ،

Lā ilāha illā Allāh al-ʿAlī al-ʿAẓīm,

There is no god but Allah, the Most High, the Great,

لاإِلهَ إِلاَّاللهُ رَبُّ السَّماواتِ السَّبْعِ ،

Lā ilāha illā Allāh Rabb as-Samāwāt as-Sabʿ,

There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the seven heavens,

والاَْرَضينَ السَّبْعِ ،

Wa al-arḍīn as-Sabʿ,

And of the seven earths,

وَما فيهِنَّ ،

Wa mā fīhinna,

And whatever is in them,

وما بَيْنَهُنَّ ،

Wa mā baynahunna,

And whatever is between them,

خِلافاً لاَِعْدآئِهِ ،

Khilāfan li-aʿdā’ih,

Opposing His enemies,

وَتَكْذيباً لِمَنْ عَدَلَ بِهِ ،

Wa takdhīban liman ʿadal bihi,

And denying those who equate anything with Him,

وَإِقْراراً لِرُبُوبِيَّتِهِ ،

Wa iq’rāran li-rubūbiyyatih,

And acknowledging His lordship,

وَخُضُوعاً لِعِزَّتِهِ ،

Wa khuḍūʿan li-ʿizzatih,

And submitting to His might,

الاَْوَّلُ بِغَيْرِ أَوَّل ،

Al-awwal bi-ghayr awwal,

The First without a beginning,

والاْخِرُ إِلى غَيْرِ اخِر ،

Wa al-ākhir ilā ghayr ākhir,

And the Last without an end,

الظّاهِرُ عَلى كُلِّ شَىْء بِقُدْرَتِهِ ،

Aẓ-ẓāhir ʿalā kull shay’ bi-qudratih,

The Manifest above everything by His power,

الْباطِنُ دُونَ كُلِّ شَىْء بِعِلْمِهِ وَلُطْفِهِ ،

Al-bāṭin dūn kull shay’ bi-ʿilmih wa luṭfih,

The Hidden beyond everything by His knowledge and subtlety,

لا تَقِفُ الْعُقُولُ عَلى كُنْهِ عَظَمَتِهِ ،

Lā taqifu al-ʿuqūl ʿalā kunh ʿaẓamatih,

Minds cannot comprehend the essence of His greatness,

ولاتُدْرِكُ الاَْوْهامُ حَقيقَةَ ماهِيَّتِهِ ،

Wa lā tud’riku al-awhām ḥaqīqat māhiyyatih,

And imaginations cannot perceive the reality of His nature,

ولاتَتَصَوَّرُ الاَْنْفُسُ مَعانِىَ كَيْفِيَّتِهِ ،

Wa lā tataṣawwaru al-anfus maʿānī kayfiyyatih,

And souls cannot conceive the meanings of His how-ness,

مُطَّلِعاً عَلَى الضَّمآئِرِ ،

Muṭṭaliʿan ʿalā aḍ-ḍamā’ir,

Aware of the consciences,

عارِفاً بِالسَّرآئِرِ ،

ʿĀrifan bi-s-sarā’ir,

Knowing the secrets,

يَعْلَمُ خآئِنَةَ الاَْعْيُنِ ،

Yaʿlamu khā’inat al-aʿyun,

He knows the betrayal of the eyes,

وَما تُخْفِى الصُّدُورُ ،

Wa mā tukhfī aṣ-ṣudūr,

And what the breasts conceal,

أَللّهُمَّ إِنّي اُشْهِدُك َ عَلى تَصْديقي رَسُولَك َ ،

Allāhumma innī ushhiduka ʿalā taṣdīqī rasūlak,

O Allah, I bear witness to my belief in Your Messenger,

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَالِهِ ،

Ṣallā Allāh ʿalayh wa ālih,

Peace be upon him and his family,

وَإيماني بِهِ ،

Wa īmānī bihi,

And my faith in him,

After completing the Salat , recite tasbeeh of Hazrat Sayyada s.a. and then go in prostration and recite the following forty times:
