Other Aamal of The First Night

Text and Translation

Sayyid Ibn Tawus reports that Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.) used to recite this supplication on the first night of Ramadan:

اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ مُنَزِّلَ الْقُرْاٰنِ هٰذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِيْۤ اَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ الْقُرْاٰنَ

ALLAAHUMMA RABBA SHAHRI RAMADAANA MUNAZZILAL QUR'AANI HAADHA SHAHRU RAMADAANAL LAZEE ANZALTA FEEHIL QUR'AAN

O Allah, Lord of the month of Ramadan, Revealer of the Qur'an! This is the month of Ramadan in which You revealed the Qur'an,

وَ اَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ اٰيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ مِّنَ الْهُدٰى وَ الْفُرْقَانِ

WA ANZALTA FEEHI AAYAATIM BAYYINAATIM MINAL HUDAA WAL FURQAAN

and revealed therein clear proofs of the guidance and the Criterion.

اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَ اَعِنَّا عَلٰى صِيَامِهٖ وَ صَلَاتِهٖ وَ تَقَبَّلْهُ مِنَّا

ALLAAHUMMA BAARIK LANAA FEE SHAHRI RAMADAANA WA A'INNAA A'LAA SIYAAMIHEE WA SALAATIH, WA TAQABBAL-HU MINNAA

O Allah, bless us in the month of Ramadan, help us observe its fasting and prayers, and accept it from us.
