Merits
As quoted from Makarim al-Akhlaq: bathe yourself (ghusl), offer a two-unit prayer, raise your garment so that your knees touch the place of prayer, and repeat the first supplication below one hundred times.
This is the supplicatory prayer of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) on the day of the Battle of Uhud.
Text and Translation
Repeat the following one hundred times:
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ
YAA HAYYU YAA QAYYOOM
O Ever-living! O Self-subsisting!
يَا حَيًّا لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ
YAA HAYYAN LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANT
O Living One, there is no god but You!
بِرَحْمَتِكَ اَسْتَغِيْثُ
BIRAHMATIKA ASTAGHEETH
I seek help through Your mercy;
فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
FASALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMAD
so send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاَغِثْنِيْ السَّاعَةَ السَّاعَةَ
WA AGHITHNIS SAA'ATAS SAA'AH
and help me now, at this very hour!
Upon accomplishment, say the following supplication:
اَسْئَلُكَ اللّٰهُمَّ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
AS'ALUKAL LAAHUMMA AN TUSALLIYA A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMAD
I ask You, O Allah, to send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاَنْ تَلْطُفَ لِيْ وَاَنْ تَغْلِبَ لِيْ
WA AN TALTUFA LEE WA AN TAGHLIBA LEE
to be subtle on my behalf, to prevail on my behalf,
وَاَنْ تَمْكُرَ لِيْ وَاَنْ تَخْدَعَ لِيْ وَاَنْ تَكِيْدَ لِيْ
WA AN TAMKURA LEE WA AN TAKHDA'A LEE WA AN TAKEEDA LEE
and to plan, outwit and contrive on my behalf,
وَاَنْ تَكْفِيَنِيْ مَؤُوْنَةَ فُلَانِ بْنِ فُلَانٍ
WA AN TAKFIYANEE MA'OONATA FULAANIBNI FULAAN
and to spare me the burden of so-and-so, son of so-and-so.
Mention the name of your enemy and his father's name in place of "so-and-so, son of so-and-so".
