Namaz of Pardon

Text and Translation

This prayer consists of two units, in each of which [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) and [Surah al-Qadr](A101) are recited once each. After the recitation of these Surahs, the following supplicatory prayer is repeated fifteen times:

رَبِّ عَفْوَكَ عَفْوَكَ

RABBI A'FWAKA A'FWAK

My Lord, Your pardon, Your pardon.

The same supplicatory prayer is repeated, yet ten times, in the genuflection (ruku') of the prayer. Then, the prayer is accomplished just like the famous prayer of Ja'far.

It is worth mentioning that the prayer for forgiveness is offered exactly like this prayer for pardon, except that its supplicatory prayer should be as follows:

رَبِّ عَفْوَكَ اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ

RABBI A'FWAKA ASTAGHFIRULLAAH

My Lord, Your pardon; I seek the forgiveness of Allah.

This prayer is also useful for beseeching expansive sustenance, Allah willing.
