Merits
In his book of Jamal al-Usbu', Sayyid Ibn Tawus has recorded a special prayer and supplication for each of the Holy Imams (a.s.), to be offered on Fridays.
Imam Zayn al-Abidin (a.s.)'s prayer consists of four units. In each unit, recite [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) once and [Surah al-Tawhid](A116) one hundred times.
Text and Translation
Upon concluding the prayer, say the following supplication:
يَا مَنْ اَظْهَرَ الْجَمِيْلَ
YAA MAN AZHARAL JAMEEL
O He Who has shown only goodness
وَسَتَرَ الْقَبِيْحَ
WA SATARAL QABEEH
and concealed the evil (deeds of His servants)!
يَا مَنْ لَمْ يُؤَاخِذْ بِالْجَرِيْرَةِ
YAA MAN LAM YU'AAKHIDH BIL JAREERAH
O He Who has not censured for the offenses
وَلَمْ يَهْتِكِ السِّتْرَ
WA LAM YAHTIKIS SITR
and has not exposed the hidden!
يَا عَظِيْمَ الْعَفْوِ
YAA A'ZEEMAL A'FW
O He Who is Ample in pardoning!
يَا حَسَنَ التَّجَاوُزِ
YAA HASANAT TAJAAWUZ
O He Who is Excellent in overlooking!
يَا وَاسِعَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ
YAA WAASI'AL MAGHFIRAH
O He Who is Liberal in forgiving!
يَا بَاسِطَ الْيَدَيْنِ بِالرَّحْمَةِ
YAA BAASITAL YADAYNI BIR RAHMAH
O He Who opens His hands wide with mercy!
يَا صَاحِبَ كُلِّ نَجْوٰى
YAA SAAHIBA KULLI NAJWAA
O He Who is present in all confidential talks!
يَا مُنْتَهٰى كُلِّ شَكْوٰى
YAA MUNTAHAA KULLI SHAKWAA
O He Who is the ultimate objective of all complaints!
يَا كَرِيْـمَ الصَّفْحِ
YAA KAREEMAS SAFH
O He Who is Generous in condonation!
يَا عَظِيْمَ الرَّجَاءِ
YAA A'ZEEMAR RAJAA'
O He Who is greatly hoped!
يَا مُبْتَدِئاً بِالنِّعَمِ قَبْلَ اسْتِحْقَاقِهَا
YAA MUBTADI'AN BIN NI'AMI QABLAS TIHQAAQIHAA
O He Who takes the initiative in favoring before they are deserved!
يَا رَبَّنَا وَسَيِّدَنَا وَمَوْلَانَا
YAA RABBANAA WA SAYYIDANAA WA MAWLAANAA
O our Lord, our Master, and our Chief!
يَا غَايَةَ رَغْبَتِنَا
YAA GHAAYATA RAGHBATINAA
O He Who is the ultimate of our desires!
اَسْاَلُكَ اللّٰهُمَّ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
AS'ALUKAL LAAHUMMA AN TUSALLIYA A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMAD
I beseech You, O Allah, to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
