Namaz of Imam Kazim (a) to ward of evil

Text and Translation

Eighteenth: This is Imam Musa ibn Ja’far al-Kazim’s evil-averting prayer:

تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى الْحَىِّ الَّذِىْ لَا يَمُوْتُ وَتَحَصَّنْتُ بِذِى الْعِزَّةِ وَالْجَبَرُوْتِ وَاسْتَعَنْتُ بِذِى الْكِبْرِيَاۤءِ وَالْمَلَكُوْتِ مَوْلَاىَ اسْتَسْلَمْتُ اِلَيْكَ فَلَا تُسْلِمْنِىْ وَ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَيْكَ فَلَا تَخْذُلْنِىْ وَ لَجَاْتُ اِلٰى ظِلِّكَ الْبَسِيْطِ فَلَا تَطْرَحْنِىْ اَنْتَ الْمَطْلَبُ وَ اِلَيْكَ الْمَهْرَبُ تَعْلَمُ مَاۤ اُخْفِىْ وَ مَاۤ اُعْلِنُ وَ تَعْلَمُ خَاۤئِنَةَ الْاَعْيُنِ وَ مَا تُخْفِى الصُّدُوْرُ فَاَمْسِكْ عَنِّى اللّٰهُمَّ اَيْدِى الظَّالِمِيْنَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْاِنْسِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ وَاشْفِنِىْ وَ عَافِنِىْ يَاۤ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ.

TAWAKKALTU A'LAL HAYYIL LAZEE LAA YAMOOTU WATAHASSANTU BIZIL 'IZZATI WAL JABAROOTI WASTA'ANTU BIZIL KIBRIYAA-I WAL MALAKOOTI MAWLAAYASTASLAMTU ILAYKA FALAA TUSLIMNEE WA TAWAKKALTU A'LAYKA FALAA TAKHZULNEE WA LAJA'TU ILAA ZILLIKAL BASEETI FALAA TATRAHNEE ANTAL MATLABU WA ILAYKAL MAHRABU TA'LAMU MAA UKHFEE WA MAA U'LINU WA TA'LAMU KHAA-INATAL A'YUNI WA MAA TUKHFIS SUDOORU FA-AMSIK A'NNIL LAAHUMMA AYDIZ ZAALIMEENA MINAL JINNI WAL INSI AJMA'EENA WASHFINEE WA A'AFINEE YAA ARHAMAR RAAHIMEEN.

I place my trust in the Ever-living Who never dies; I fortify myself with the Lord of might and omnipotence; and I seek help from the Lord of grandeur and dominion. My Master, I submit myself to You, so do not abandon me; I place my trust in You, so do not forsake me; I take refuge in Your extended shade, so do not cast me away. You are the One sought, and to You is the flight. You know what I conceal and what I reveal, and You know the treachery of the eyes and what the breasts conceal. So hold back from me, O Allah, the hands of the wrongdoers from among the jinn and mankind, all of them; and heal me and grant me well-being, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
