Merits
In his book of Jamal al-Usbu', Sayyid Ibn Tawus has recorded a special prayer and supplication for each of the Holy Imams (a.s.), to be offered on Fridays.
Imam al-Reza (a.s.)'s prayer consists of six units. In each unit, recite [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) once and [Surah al-Insan](A80) ten times.
Text and Translation
Upon concluding the prayer, say the following supplication:
يَا صَاحِبِيْ فِيْ شِدَّتِيْ
YAA SAAHIBEE FEE SHIDDATEE
O My Companion in my distress!
وَيَا وَلِيِّيْ فِيْ نِعْمَتِيْ
WA YAA WALIYYEE FEE NI'MATEE
O My Patron in my bounties!
وَيَا اِلٰهِيْ وَاِلٰهَ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَاِسْمَاعِيْلَ
WA YAA ILAAHEE WA ILAAHA IBRAAHEEMA WA ISMAA'EEL
O My God and the God of Abraham, Ishmael,
وَاِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوْبَ
WA ISHAAQA WA YA'QOOB
Isaac, and Jacob!
يَا رَبَّ كٓهٰيٰعٓصٓ وَيٰسٓ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيْمِ
YAA RABBA KAAAF HAA YAA A'YN SAAAD WA YAA SEEN WAL QUR'AANIL HAKEEM
O Lord of Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ayn-Sad, Ya-Sin, and the Qur'an full of wisdom!
اَسْاَلُكَ يَا اَحْسَنَ مَنْ سُئِلَ
AS'ALUKA YAA AHSANA MAN SU'IL
I beseech You, O Most Excellent of all those who may be besought!
وَيَا خَيْرَ مَنْ دُعِيَ
WA YAA KHAYRA MAN DU'IY
O Most Favorite of all those who may be prayed!
وَيَا اَجْوَدَ مَنْ اَعْطٰى
WA YAA AJWADA MAN A'TAA
O Most Magnanimous of all those who may give!
وَيَا خَيْرَ مُرْتَجىٰ
WA YAA KHAYRA MURTAJAA
O Most Preferred of all those who may be hoped!
اَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
AS'ALUKA AN TUSALLIYA A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMAD
I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
