Merits
In his book of Jamal al-Usbu', Sayyid Ibn Tawus has recorded a special prayer and supplication for each of the Holy Imams (a.s.), to be offered on Fridays.
Imam al-Hadi (a.s.)'s prayer consists of two units. In the first unit, recite [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) and [Surah Ya-Sin](A40); in the second, [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) and [Surah al-Rahman](A59).
Text and Translation
Upon concluding the prayer, say the following supplication:
يَا بَارُّ يَا وَصُوْلُ
YAA BAARRU YAA WASOOL
O Foremost Beneficent! O Object of Love!
يَا شَاهِدَ كُلِّ غَائِبٍ
YAA SHAAHIDA KULLI GHAA'IB
O He Who is the Witness of all unseen things!
وَيَا قَرِيْبُ غَيْرُ بَعِيْدٍ
WA YAA QAREEBU GHAYRU BA'EED
O He Who is Nigh without being away (from any other thing)!
وَيَا غَالِبُ غَيْرُ مَغْلُوْبٍ
WA YAA GHAALIBU GHAYRU MAGHLOOB
O He Who (always) prevails (but) is never overpowered!
وَيَا مَنْ لَا يَعْلَمُ كَيْفَ هُوَ اِلَّا هُوَ
WA YAA MAN LAA YA'LAMU KAYFA HUWA ILLAA HUW
O He Whom no one knows how He is except He!
يَا مَنْ لَا تُبْلَغُ قُدْرَتُهٗ
YAA MAN LAA TUBLAGHU QUDRATUH
O He Whose authority no one can challenge!
اَسْاَلُكَ اللّٰهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ الْمَكْنُوْنِ الْمَخْزُوْنِ
AS'ALUKAL LAAHUMMA BISMIKAL MAKNOONIL MAKHZOON
I beseech You, O Allah, in Your name: the Well-Guarded, the Treasured,
الْمَكْتُوْمِ عَمَّنْ شِئْتَ
AL-MAKTOOMI A'MMAN SHI'T
the Concealed from whom You will,
الطَّاهِرِ الْمُطَهَّرِ الْمُقَدَّسِ
AT-TAAHIRIL MUTAHHARIL MUQADDAS
the Pure, the Purified, the Holy,
النُّوْرِ التَّامِّ
AN-NOORIT TAAMM
the utter Light,
الْحَيِّ الْقَيُّوْمِ الْعَظِيْمِ
AL-HAYYIL QAYYOOMIL A'ZEEM
the Ever-living, the Everlasting, the Greatest,
نُوْرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَنُوْرِ الْاَرَضِيْنَ
NOORIS SAMAAWAATI WA NOORIL ARADEEN
the Light of the heavens and the Light of the [layers of the] earth,
عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ
A'ALIMIL GHAYBI WASH SHAHAADAH
the Knower of the unseen and the seen
الْكَبِيْرِ الْمُتَعَالِ الْعَظِيْمِ
AL-KABEERIL MUTA'AALIL A'ZEEM
the Highest, the Sublime, the Glorious!
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMAD
Send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
