Merits
In his book of Jamal al-Usbu', Sayyid Ibn Tawus has recorded a special prayer and supplication for each of the Holy Imams (a.s.), to be offered on Fridays.
Imam al-Baqir (a.s.)'s prayer consists of two units. In each unit, recite [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) once and then repeat the following litany one hundred times.
Text and Translation
سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَاللّٰهُ اَكْبَرُ
SUBHAANALLAAHI WAL HAMDU LILLAAHI WA LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAHU WALLAAHU AKBAR
All glory be to Allah, all praise be to Allah, there is no god save Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.
Upon concluding the prayer, say the following supplication:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْاَلُكَ
ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS'ALUKA
O Allah, I beseech You,
يَا حَلِيْمُ ذُوْ اَنَاةٍ
YAA HALEEMU DHOO ANAATIN
O Indulgent, Forbearing,
غَفُوْرٌ وَدُوْدٌ
GHAFOORUN WADOOD
Forgiving, and Loving-kind,
اَنْ تَتَجَاوَزَ عَنْ سَيِّئَاتِيْ وَمَا عِنْدِيْ
AN TATAJAAWAZA A'N SAYYI'AATEE WA MAA I'NDEE
to overlook my sins and what I have had,
بِحُسْنِ مَا عِنْدَكَ
BIHUSNI MAA I'NDAK
out of the excellence of what You have,
وَاَنْ تُعْطِيَنِيْ مِنْ عَطَائِكَ مَا يَسَعُنِيْ
WA AN TU'TIYANEE MIN A'TAA'IKA MAA YASA'UNEE
to give me, out of Your giving, that which suffices me,
وَتُلْهِمَنِيْ فيمَا اَعْطَيْتَنِيْ الْعَمَلَ فيهِ
WA TULHIMANEE FEEMAA A'TAYTANIL A'MALA FEEH
to inspire me to act upon what You have given me;
بِطَاعَتِكَ وَطَاعَةِ رَسُوْلِكَ
BITAA'ATIKA WA TAA'ATI RASOOLIK
that is to obey You and to obey Your Messenger,
وَاَنْ تُعْطِيَنِيْ مِنْ عَفْوِكَ
WA AN TU'TIYANEE MIN A'FWIK
and to give me part of Your pardon
مَا اَسْتَوْجِبُ بِهٖ كَرَامَتَكَ
MAA ASTAWJIBU BIHEE KARAAMATAK
so much so that I ought to have Your honoring.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعْطِنِيْ مَا اَنْتَ اَهْلُهٗ
ALLAAHUMMA A'TINEE MAA ANTA AHLUH
O Allah, (please) grant me that which befits You
وَلَا تَفْعَلْ بِيْ مَا اَنَا اَهْلُهٗ
WA LAA TAF'AL BEE MAA ANAA AHLUH
and do not do to me that which I deserve.
فَاِنَّمَا اَنَا بِكَ
FA-INNAMAA ANAA BIK
Verily, I exist through You
وَلَمْ اُصِبْ خَيْراً قَطُّ اِلَّا مِنْكَ
WA LAM USIB KHAYRAN QATTU ILLAA MINK
and I have never been given any good thing from any source except You.
يَا اَبْصَرَ الْاَبْصَرِيْنَ
YAA ABSARAL ABSAREEN
O He Who is the best Seer of all those who can see!
وَيَا اَسْمَعَ السَّامِعِيْنَ
WA YAA ASMA'AS SAAMI'EEN
O He Who is the best Hearer of all those who can hear!
وَيَا اَحْكَمَ الْحَاكِمِيْنَ
WA YAA AHKAMAL HAAKIMEEN
O He Who is the Justest of all those who judge!
وَيَا جَارَ الْمُسْتَجِيْرِيْنَ
WA YAA JAARAL MUSTAJEEREEN
O He Who aids those who seek His aid!
وَيَا مُجِيْبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّيْنَ
WA YAA MUJEEBA DA'WATIL MUDTARREEN
O He Who responds to the prayer of the oppressed!
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMAD
Send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
