Namaz for Travel

Text and Translation

Method: it is a two-unit prayer (like the morning prayer), to be prayed at the time of travel. After this prayer, recite the following dua:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَسْتَوْدِعُكَ السَّاعَةَ نَفْسِىْ وَ اَهْلِىْ وَ مَالِىْ وَ وَلَدِىْ وَ ذُرِّيَّتِىْ وَ دُنْيَايَ وَ اٰخِرَتِىْ وَ خَاتِمَةَ عَمَلِىْ

BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM, ALLAAHUMMA INNEE ASTAWDI-U'KAS SAA-A'TA NAFSEE WA AHLEE WA MAALEE WA WALADEE WA ZURRIYYATEE WA DUNYAAYA WA AAKHIRATEE WA KHAATIMATA A'MALEE

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. O Allah, at this hour I entrust to You my soul, my family, my wealth, my children, my offspring, my worldly life, my afterlife, and the conclusion of my deeds,

اَللّٰهُمَّ احْفَظْ عَلَيْنَا اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا فِىْ جِوَارِكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَسْلُبْنَا نِعْمَتَكَ وَ لَا تُغَيِّرْ مَا بِنَا مِنْ عَافِيَتِكَ وَ فَضْلِكَ يَا مَوْلَاىَ اِنْقَطَعَ الرَّجَاۤءُ اِلَّا مِنْكَ وَ خَابَتِ الْاٰمَالُ اِلَّا فِيْكَ

ALLAAHUMMAH FAZ A'LAYNAA, ALLAAHUMMAJ-A'LNAA FEE JAWAARIK, ALLAAHUMMA LAA TASLUBNAA NI'MATAKA WA LAA TUGHAYYIR MAA BINAA MIN A'AFIYATIKA WA FADLIK, YAA MAWLAAYA INQATA-A'R RAJAAA-U ILLAA MINK WA KHAABATIL AAMAALU ILLAA FEEK

O Allah, guard us; O Allah, place us in Your shelter; O Allah, do not strip us of Your blessing, nor change what well-being and bounty we have from You. O my Master, hope is cut off except from You, and hopes are disappointed except in You,

اَسْاَلُكَ اِلٰهِىْ مَنْ حَقُّهٗ وَاجِبٌ عَلَيْكَ مِمَّنْ جَعَلْتَ لَهُ الْحَقَّ عِنْدَكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اَنْ تَقْضِىَ حَاجَتِىْ

AS-ALUKA ILAAHEE MAN HAQQUHU WAAJIBUN A'LAYKA MIMMAN JA-A'LTA LAHUL HAQQA I'NDAKA AN TUSALLIYA A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMADIN AN TAQDIYA HAAJATEE

I ask You, my God, by the right of him whose right is incumbent upon You, among those to whom You have granted a right with You, that You send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, and that You fulfill my need.

Then say:

مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ اَمَامِىْ وَ عَلِىٌّ وَرَاۤئِىْ وَ فَاطِمَةُ فَوْقَ رَاْسِىْ وَالْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ عَلٰى يَسَارِىْ وَ عَلِىٌّ وَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَ جَعْفَرٌ وَ مُوْسٰى وَ عَلِىٌّ وَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَ عَلِىٌّ وَالْحَسَنُ وَالْحُجَّةُ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ حَوْلِىْ

MUHAMMADUR RASOOLULLAAHI AMAAMEE WA A'LIYYUW WARAAA-EE WA FAATIMATU FAWQA RA-SEE WAL HASANU WAL HUSAYNU A'LAA YASAAREE, WA A'LIYYUW WA MUHAMMADUW WA JA-A'FARUW WA MOOSAA WA A'LIYYUW WA MUHAMMADUW WA A'LIYYUW WAL HASANU WAL HUJJATU A'LAYHIMUS SALAAMU HAWLEE

Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, is before me; Ali is behind me; Fatimah is above my head; al-Hasan and al-Husayn are to my left; and Ali, Muhammad, Ja'far, Musa, Ali, Muhammad, Ali, al-Hasan, and al-Hujjah — peace be upon them — are around me;

اِلٰهِىْ مَا خَلَقْتَ خَلْقًا خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ فَاجْعَلْ صَلَوَاتِىْ بِهِمْ مَقْبُوْلَةً وَ دَعْوَاتِىْ بِهِمْ مُسْتَجَابَةً وَ حَوَاۤئِجِىْ بِهِمْ مَقْضِيَّةً وَ ذُنُوْبِىْ بِهِمْ مَغْفُوْرَةً وَ اٰفَاتِىْ بِهِمْ مَدْفُوْعَةً وَ اَعْدَاۤئِىْ بِهِمْ مَقْهُوْرَةً وَ رِزْقِىْ بِهِمْ مَبْسُوْطَةً اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ILAAHEE MAA KHALAQTA KHALQAN KHAYRAM MINHUM, FAJ-A'L SALAWAATEE BIHIM MAQBOOLAH WA DA'WAATEE BIHIM MUSTAJAABAH WA HAWAAA-IJEE BIHIM MAQDIYYAH WA ZUNOOBEE BIHIM MAGHFOORAH WA AAFAATEE BIHIM MADFOO-A'H WA A'DAAA-EE BIHIM MAQHOORAH WA RIZQEE BIHIM MABSOOTAH, ALLAAHUMMA SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMAD

My God, You have not created any creation better than them; so make my prayers, through them, accepted; my supplications, through them, answered; my needs, through them, fulfilled; my sins, through them, forgiven; my calamities, through them, repelled; my enemies, through them, overcome; and my sustenance, through them, expanded. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
