Merits

The following is quoted from the book of Makarim al-Akhlaq.

If your need is not settled, repeat this prayer; if it is still not settled, repeat it once more, and your need will be settled, Allah willing.

Text and Translation

At midnight, bathe yourself (ghusl) and offer a two-unit prayer. In both units, recite [Surah al-Fatihah](A5) once and [Surah al-Tawhid](A116) five hundred times.

After repeating Surah al-Tawhid in the second unit, recite the last verses of [Surah al-Hashr](A63) (59:21-24, from "Law anzalnaa haadhal Qur'aana...") and then the first six verses of [Surah al-Hadid](A61).

While still standing, repeat the following verse one thousand times:

اِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَاِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِيْنُ

IYYAAKA NA'BUDU WA IYYAAKA NASTA'EEN

You alone do we worship, and You alone do we ask for help.

Then complete your prayer and praise Almighty Allah.
