Last Night of Ramadhan

Text and Translation

Sayyid Ibn Tawus and Shaykh al-Mufid record that Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.) said: Say this supplication on the last night of Ramadan:

اَللّٰهُمَّ هٰذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِيْۤ اَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ الْقُرْاٰنَ وَ قَدْ تَصَرَّمَ

ALLAAHUMMA HAADHA SHAHRU RAMADAANAL LAZEE ANZALTA FEEHIL QUR'AANA WA QAD TASARRAM

O Allah, this is the month of Ramadan in which You revealed the Qur'an, and it is now coming to an end.

فَاَعُوْذُ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيْمِ يَا رَبِّ اَنْ يَّطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ مِنْ لَّيْلَتِيْ هٰذِهٖۤ اَوْ يَتَصَرَّمَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ وَ لَكَ قِبَلِيْ تَبِعَةٌ اَوْ ذَنْبٌ تُرِيْدُ اَنْ تُعَذِّبَنِيْ بِهٖ يَوْمَ اَلْقَاكَ

FA-A'OODHU BI-WAJHIKAL KAREEMI YAA RABBI AY YATLU'AL FAJRU MIL LAYLATEE HAADHIHEE AW YATASARRAMA SHAHRU RAMADAANA WA LAKA QIBALEE TABI'ATUN AW DHAMBUN TUREEDU AN TU'ADHDHIBANEE BIHEE YAWMA ALQAAK

So I seek refuge in Your noble Face, O Lord, lest dawn breaks upon this night of mine or the month of Ramadan elapses, while there remains against me a sin or offense for which You intend to punish me on the Day I meet You.

اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْهُ اٰخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنْ صِيَامِيْ لِشَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

ALLAAHUMMA LAA TAJ'ALHU AAKHIRAL A'HDI MIN SIYAAMEE LI-SHAHRI RAMADAAN

O Allah, do not make this the last of my fasting in the month of Ramadan.
