Imam al-Hadi's supplication

Text and Translation

يَا بَآرُّ يَا وَصُوْلُ يَا شَاهِدَ كُلِّ غَاۤئِبٍ وَ يَا قَرِيْبُ غَيْرَ بَعِيْدٍ وَ يَا غَالِبُ غَيْرَ مَغْلُوْبٍ وَ يَا مَنْ لَا يَعْلَمُ كَيْفَ هُوَ اِلَّا هُوَ يَا مَنْ لَا تُبْلَغُ قُدْرَتُهُ اَسْاَلُكَ اللّٰهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ الْمَكْنُوْنِ الْمَخْزُوْنِ الْمَكْتُوْمِ عَمَّنْ شِئْتَ الطَّاهِرِ الْمُطَهَّرِ الْمُقَدَّسِ النُّوْرِ التَّآمِّ الْحَيِّ الْقَيُّوْمِ الْعَظِيْمِ نُوْرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ نُوْرِ الْاَرَضِيْنَ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهَادَةِ الْكَبِيْرِ الْمُتَعَالِ الْعَظِيْمِ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔

YAA BAARRU YAA WASOOL, YAA SHAAHIDA KULLI GHAAA-IB, WA YAA QAREEBU GHAYRA BA-I'D, WA YAA GHAALIBU GHAYRA MAGHLOOB, WA YAA MAL LAA YA'LAMU KAYFA HUWA ILLAA HUW, YAA MAL LAA TUBLAGHU QUDRATUH, AS-ALUKAL LAAHUMMA BI-ISMIKAL MAKNOONIL MAKHZOONIL MAKTOOMI A'MMAN SHI'TA, AT-TAAHIRIL MUTAHHARIL MUQADDASIN NOORIT TAAAMMIL HAYYIL QAYYOOMIL A'ZEEM, NOORIS SAMAAWAATI WA NOORIL ARADEEN, A'ALIMIL GHAYBI WASH SHAHAADATIL KABEERIL MUTA-A'AL A'L A'ZEEM, SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMAD.

O Beneficent, O He of great affection, O Witness of every unseen one, O Ever-near, never far, O Ever-triumphant, never defeated, O He whom none knows how He is except He, O He whose power none can attain — I beseech You, O Allah, by Your name: the Well-guarded, the Treasured, the Concealed from whomever You will, the Pure, the Purified, the Holy, the utter Light, the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting, the Great, the Light of the heavens and the Light of the earths, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Great, the Most High, the Most Great — bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
