Merits

The twenty-seventh night of Rajab is the night on which Prophet Muhammad (s) was given the mission of promulgating the religion (Laylat al-Mab'ath). Shaykh al-Tusi reports that Imam al-Jawad (a.s.) said: 'In Rajab, there is a night that is better than all that upon which the sun shines: it is the 27th night.'

Text and Translation

Offer twelve units of prayer (in sets of two). In each unit, recite any surah after [Surah al-Fatihah](A5). After finishing all twelve units, recite [Surah al-Fatihah](A5), [Surah al-Ikhlas](A116), [Surah al-Falaq](A117), [Surah al-Nas](A118), [Surah al-Kafirun](A113), [Surah al-Qadr](A101), and [Ayat al-Kursi](A6#L255) each seven times. Then say the following supplication:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَّ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهٗ شَرِيْكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهٗ وَلِيٌّ مِّنَ الذُّلِّ وَ كَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيْرًا

AL-HAMDU LILLAAHIL LAZEE LAM YATTAKHIDH WALADAN WA LAM YAKUL LAHOO SHAREEKUN FIL MULKI WA LAM YAKUL LAHOO WALIYYUM MINADH DHULLI WA KABBIR-HU TAKBEERAA

All praise is due to Allah, Who has not taken a son and has had no partner in dominion and has had no protector out of weakness; and magnify Him with all magnificence.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْۤ اَسْاَلُكَ بِمَعَاقِدِ عِزِّكَ عَلٰى اَرْكَانِ عَرْشِكَ وَ مُنْتَهَى الرَّحْمَةِ مِنْ كِتَابِكَ وَ بِاسْمِكَ الْاَعْظَمِ الْاَعْظَمِ الْاَعْظَمِ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS'ALUKA BI-MA'AAQIDI I'ZZIKA A'LAA ARKAANI A'RSHIKA WA MUNTAHAR RAHMATI MIN KITAABIKA WA BISMIKAL A'ZAMIL A'ZAMIL A'ZAM

O Allah, I beseech You by the seats of Your glory upon the pillars of Your Throne, and by the utmost bounds of mercy from Your Book, and by Your Greatest, Greatest, Greatest Name.
