General Aamal in Shaban

Text and Translation

First: It is recommended to say the following imploration for forgiveness seventy times each day in Sha'ban:

اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ وَ اَسْاَلُهُ التَّوْبَةَ

ASTAGHFIRULLAAHA WA AS-ALUHUT TAWBAH

I implore for the forgiveness of Allah and I pray to Him for approval of my repentance.

Second: It is recommended to recite the following imploration for forgiveness seventy times each day in Sha'ban:

اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ الَّذِيْ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمٰنُ الرَّحِيْمُ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ وَ اَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ

ASTAGHFIRULLAAHAL LAZEE LAA ILAAHA ILLAA HUWAR RAHMAANUR RAHEEMUL HAYYUL QAYYOOMU WA ATOOBU ILAYH

I implore for the forgiveness of Allah; there is no god save Him, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful, the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting, and to Him I turn repentant.

Third: It is recommended to give alms in this month, even if it be half a date.

Fourth: It is recommended to repeat the following litany one thousand times throughout the month:

لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَ لَا نَعْبُدُ اِلَّاۤ اِيَّاهُ مُخْلِصِيْنَ لَهُ الدِّيْنَ وَ لَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُوْنَ

LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAHU WA LAA NA'BUDU ILLAA IYYAAHU MUKHLISEENA LAHUD DEENA WA LAW KARIHAL MUSHRIKOON

There is no god save Allah, and we worship none save Him, being sincere to Him in obedience, though the polytheists be averse.
