Dua 43 of Saheefah Kaamelah
The general rites to be advisably done in each month are as follows:
First: It is recommended to say the famous supplicatory prayers at the sight of the new moon. The most preferable of these is the [supplication No. 43 of al-Saheefah al-Sajjaadiyyah](AA21), which has been mentioned within the rites at the beginning of month of Ramazan.
Surah Faatehah 7 times
Second: It is recommended to recite Surah al-Faatehah seven times in order to escape eye ache.
Eating Cheese
Third: It is recommended to have some cheese, for it has been narrated that one who usually eats some cheese at the beginning of each month will have almost all his requests answered.
Namaz of 1st Night
Fourth: At the first night of each month, it is recommended to offer a two unit prayer with [Surah al-Faatehah](A5) and [Surah al-An’am (No. 6)](A10). One may then pray Almighty Allah to save him from any terror or pain and to make him live throughout that month peacefully and safely.
Namaz of 1st Day
Fifth: On the first day of each month, it is recommended to offer a two unit prayer in the first unit of which, [Surah al-Faatehah](A5) is recited once and [Surah al-Tawheed](A116) repeated thirty times. In the second unit, [Surah al-Faatehah](A5) is recited once and [Surah al-Qadr](A101) repeated thirty times. After accomplishment, alms should be given. Whoever offers this prayer each month, will win safety throughout that month. According to other narrations, the following supplicatory prayer, which is a number of Quranic verses, may be said after the accomplishment of the prayer:
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
In the Name of Allah, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate
WA MAA MIN DAAA-BBATIN FIL ARZI ILLAA A’LAL LAAHE RIZQOHAA WA YA’LAMO MUSTAQARRAHAA WA MUSTAWDA-A’HAA KULLUN FEE KETAABIM MOBEEN.
There is no moving creature on earth but its sustenance dependeth on Allah: He knoweth the time and place of its definite abode and its temporary deposit: All is in a clear Record.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
In the Name of Allah, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate
If Allah do touch thee with hurt, there is none can remove it but He: if He do design some benefit for thee, there is none can keep back His favour: He causeth it to reach whomsoever of His servants He pleaseth. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

There is no god except You; Exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
