General Aamaal in Rajab

Text and Translation

First: It is advisable to say the following supplicatory prayer each day in Rajab. It has been narrated that Imam Zayn al-Aabedin (a.s.) used to say this supplicatory prayer on the first day of Rajab while he was imprisoned:

يَا مَنْ يَمْلِكُ حَوَاۤئِجَ السَّاۤئِلِيْنَ

YAA MAN YAMLEKO HAWAAA-EJAS SAAA-ELEENA

O He who manages the wants of the needy,

وَ يَعْلَمُ ضَمِيْرَ الصَّامِتِيْنَ

WA YA’LAMO ZAMEERAS SAAMETEENA

and is aware of that which is hidden in the heart of the silent sufferers!

لِكُلِّ مَسْاَلَةٍ مِنْكَ سَمْعٌ حَاضِرٌ وَ جَوَابٌ عَتِيْدٌ

LEKULLE MAS-ALATIN MINKA SAM-U’N HAAZERUN WA JAWAABUN A’TEEDUN

Every problem receives Your attention, and is settled well.

اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ مَوَاعِيْدُكَ الصَّادِقَةُ

ALLAAHUMMA WA MAWAA-E’EDOKAS SAADEQATO

O Allah, Your promises come true,

وَ اَيَادِيْكَ الْفَاضِلَةُ

WA AYAADEEKAL FAAZELATO

Your favors are many,

وَ رَحْمَتُكَ الْوَاسِعَةُ

WA RAHMATOKAL WAASE-A’TO

and Your Mercy is extensive,

فَاَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

FA-AS-ALOKA AN TOSALLEYA A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

therefore, I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

وَ اَنْ تَقْضِيَ حَوَاۤئِجِيْ لِلدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ

WA AN TAQZEYA HAWAAA-EJEE LID-DUNYAA WAL AAKHERATE

and fulfill my desires in this world and in the world to come.

اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ قَدِيرٌ.

INNAKA A’LAA KULLE SHAY-IN QADEERUN.

Verily, You have power over all things
