Dua Ummi Dawud is one of the most celebrated supplications of the 15th of Rajab, taught by Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.) to Umm Dawud for the release of her son Dawud from captivity in Iraq.
Text and Translation
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
صَدَقَ اللّٰهُ الْعَظِيْمُ الَّذِيْ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ
SADAQALLAAHUL A'ZEEMUL LAZEE LAA ILAAHA ILLAA HUWAL HAYYUL QAYYOOMU DHUL JALAALI WAL IKRAAM
Allah, the Supreme, has spoken the truth; there is no god save Him, the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting, the Lord of Majesty and Generosity.
الرَّحْمٰنُ الرَّحِيْمُ الْحَلِيْمُ الْكَرِيْمُ الَّذِيْ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهٖ شَيْءٌ وَّ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ الْبَصِيْرُ الْخَبِيْرُ
AR-RAHMAANUR RAHEEMUL HALEEMUL KAREEMUL LAZEE LAYSA KA-MITHLIHEE SHAY'UW WA HUWAS SAMEE'UL A'LEEMUL BASEERUL KHABEER
The All-beneficent, the All-merciful, the Clement, the Generous, like Whom there is nothing, and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing, the All-seeing, the All-aware.
شَهِدَ اللّٰهُ اَنَّهٗ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ وَ الْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ وَ اُولُوا الْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًا بِالْقِسْطِ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ
SHAHIDALLAAHU ANNAHOO LAA ILAAHA ILLAA HUWA WAL MALAAA'IKATU WA OOLUL I'LMI QAAA'IMAM BIL-QISTI LAA ILAAHA ILLAA HUWAL A'ZEEZUL HAKEEM
Allah bears witness that there is no god save Him, and so do the angels and those endowed with knowledge, maintaining justice; there is no god save Him, the Mighty, the Wise.
