Dua Yastasheer

Text and Translation

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِیْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِیْنُ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE LAA ELAAHA ILLAA HOWAL MALEKUL HAQQUL MOBEENUL

All praise is due to Allah. There is no deity but He (who is) the Real King, the Just and Evident.

الْمُدَبِّرُ بِلَا وَزِیْرٍ وَّلَا خَلْقٍ مِّنْ عِبَادِهٖ یَسْتَشِیْرُ

MODABBERO BELAA WAZEERINW WA LAA KHALQIM MIN E’BBADEHI YASTASHEERUL

He is the Administrator of (all the worlds) without any Minister; and without consults not any of his slaves.

الْاَوَّلُ غَیْرُ مَوْصُوْفٍ وَّالْبَاقِیْ بَعْدَ فَنَآءِ الْخَلْقِ الْعَظِیْمُ

AWWALO GHAYRO MAWSOOFIN WAL BAAQEE BA’DA FANAAA-IL KHALQIL A’ZEEMUR

He is the First, who cannot be described. He is Eternal and will continue to live (even) after the annihilation of all the creatures. He is the Greatest Cherisher

الرُّبُوْبِیَّۃِ نُوْرُ السَّمٰوَتِ وَالْاَرَضِیْنَ وَفَاطِرُهُمَا

ROBOOBIYYATE NOORUS SAMAAWAATE WAL ARAZEENA WA FAATEROHOMAA

and Sustainer and the Light of the earths and heavens and their Creator

وَمُبْتَدِعُهُمَا بِغَیْرِ عَمَدٍ خَلَقَهُمَا وَفَتَقَهُمَا فَتْقًا

WA MUBTADE-O’HOMAA BE GHAYRE A’MADIN KHALAQAHOMAA WA FATAQAHOMAA FATQAN

and Marker out of nothing. He created both of them and ripped them (from each other) a proper ripping.

فَقَامَتِ السَّمٰوٰتُ طَائِعَاتٍ بِاَمْرِهٖ وَاسْتَقَرَّتِ الْاَرْضُوْنَ

FA QAAMATIS SAMAAWAATO TAAA-E-A’ATIN BE AMREHI WAS-TAQARRATIL ARAZOONA

The heavens became stable in obedience to his commandment and the earths became fixed on the surface of water

بِاَوْتَادِهَا فَوْقَ الْمَآءِ ثُمَّ عَلَا رَبُّنَا فِیْ السَّمٰوٰتِ الْعُلٰی

BE AWTAADEHA FAWQAL MAAA-E SUMMA A’LAA RABBONAA FIS SAMAAWAATIL O’LAA

with their pegs. Then our Lord, the All-Merciful, subdued the high heavens

اَلرَّحْمٰنُ عَلَی الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوٰی لَهٗ مَا فِی السَّمٰوَتِ وَمَا فِی الْاَرْضِ

RAHMAANO A’LAL ARSHIS-TAWAA LAHU MAA FIS SAMAAWAATE WA MAA FIL ARZE

and ruled from Arsh (the supreme throne in heavens). Every thing that is in heavens and in the earth

وَمَا بَیْنَهُمَا وَمَا تَحْتَ الثَّرٰی فَاَنَا اَشْهَدُ بِاَنَّكَ

WA MAA BAYNAHOMAA WA MAA TAHTAS SARAA FA-ANAA ASH-HADO BE-ANNAKA

and in between them and what is below the earth belongs to him. So, I bear witness that verily

اَنْتَ اللهُ لَا رَافِعَ لِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَا وَاضِعَ لِمَا رَفَعْتَ

ANTALLAAHO LAA RAA-FE-A’ LEMAA WAZA’TA WA LAA WAAZE-A’ LEMAA RAFA’TA

Thou art Allah (the only Deity). There is none to elevate what Thou hath lowered and none to lower that Thou hath elevated

وَلَا مُعِزَّ لِمَنْ اَذْلَلْتَ وَلَا مُذِلَّ لِمَنْ اَعْزَزْتَ

WA LAA MO-I’ZZA LEMAN AZLALTA WALAA MOZILLA LEMAN A-A’ZAZTA

and no one to exalt him whom Thou leaveth in disgrace and no one to bring him into disgrace whom Thou exalteth

وَلَا مَانِعَ لِمَنْ اَعْطَیْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِیَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ

WALAA MAANE-A’ LEMAN A-A’TAYTA WA LAA MO’TEYA LEMAA MANA’TA

and no one to prevent him upon whom Thou bestoweth (Thou favour) and no one to bestow any thing which Thou hath withheld.

وَاَنْتَ اللهُ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ كُنْتَ اِذْ لَمْ تَكُنْ سَمَآءٌ مَبْنِیَّۃٌ

WA ANTALLAAHO LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA KUNTA IZ LAM TAKUN SAMAAA-UM MABNIYYATUN

Thou art Allah, there is no deity but Thou, existed when there was neither the stable sky

وَّلَا اَرْضٌ مَدْحِیَّۃٌ وَّلَا شَمْسٌ مُضِیْٓئَۃٌ وَّلَا لَیْلٌ مُظْلِمٌ

WA LAA ARZUM MADHIYYATUN WALAA SHAMSUM MOZEE-ATUN WA LAA LAYLUM MUZLEMUN

nor the (widely) spread up earth, nor the brilliant sun, nor the dark night,

وَّلَا نَهَارٌ مُضِیْئٌ وَّلَا بَحْرٌ لُجِّیٌّ وَّلَا جَبَلٌ رَاسٍ وَّلَا نَجْمٌ سَارٍ

WA LAA NAHAARUN MO-ZEEE-UN WA LAA BAHRUN LUJJIYUN WA LAA JAMALUN RAASIN WA LAA NAJMUN SAARIN

nor the bright day, nor the vast and stormy sea, nor any sublime and stable mountain, nor any revolving planet

وَّلَا قَمَرٌ مُنِیْرٌ وَّلَا رِیْحٌ تَهُبُّ وَلَا سَحَابٌ یَسْكُبُ وَلَا بَرْقٌ یَلْمَعُ

WA LAA QAMARUM MONEERUN WA LAA REEHUN TAHUBBO WA LAA SAHAABUYN YASKOMO WA LAA BARQUN YALMA-O’

nor the luminous moon nor any blowing wind nor any raining cloud, nor flashing lightning,

وَلَا رَعْدٌ یُسَبِّحُ وَلَا رُوْحٌ تَنَفَّسُ وَلَا طَآءِرٌ یَطِیْرُ

WA LAA RA’DUN YOSABBEHO WA LAA ROOHUN TANAFFASO WA LAA TAAA-ERUN YATEERO

nor any praising thunder, nor any breathing soul, nor any flying bird,

وَلَا نَارٌ تَتَوَقَّدُ وَلَا مَآءٌ یَطَّرِدُ كُنْتَ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَیْءٍ وَّكَوَّنْتَ كُلَّ شَیْءٍ

WA LAA NAARUN TATAWAQQADO WA LAA MAAA-UN YATTAREDO KUNTA QABLA KULLE SHAYIN

nor any blazing fire, nor any flowing water. Thou existed before the existence of every thing

وَّقَدَرْتَ عَلٰی كُلِّ شَیءٍ وَّابْتَدَعْتَ كُلَّ شَیْءٍ وَّاَغْنَیْتَ

WA KAWWANTA KULLA SHAYIN WABTADA’TA KULLA SHAYIN WA AGHNAYTA

and Thou created everything and controlled everything and originated everything. Thou enriched some (people)

وَاَفْقَرْتَ وَاَمَتَّ وَاَحْیَیْتَ وَاَضْحَكْتَ وَاَبْكَیْتَ

WA AFQARTA WA AMATTA WA AHYAYTA WA AZHAKTA WA ABKAYTA

and reduced others to poverty, caused to die some (creatures) and brought others to life and made some people laugh and others weep.

وَعَلَی الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَیْتَ فَتَبَارَكْتَ یَا اللهُ وَتَعَالَیْتَ

WA A’LAL A’RSHIS TAWAYTA FA TABAARAKTA YAA ALLAAHO WA TA-A’ALAYTA

Verily Thou ruled from Arsh (the supreme throne in heavens). Thou art of vast blessing O Allah! Thou art Great and Supreme.

اَنْتَ اللهُ الَّذِیْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْمُبِیْنُ اَمْرُكَ غَالِبٌ

ANTALLAAHUL LAZEE LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTAL KHALLAAQUL MO-E’ENO AMROKA GHAALEBUN

Thou art Allah and there is no deity other than Thee. Thou art the Creator and Supporter. Thy decree is overpowering

وَعِلْمُكَ نَافِدٌ وَكَیْدُكَ غَرِیْبٌ وَّوَعْدُكَ صَادِقٌ وَّقَوْلُكَ حَقُّ

WA I’LMOKA NAAFEZUN WA KAYDOKA GHAREEBUN WA WA’DOKA SAADEQUN WA QAWLOKA HAQQUN

and Thy knowledge is operative. Thy strategy is wonderful; Thy promise is true; Thy word is right;

وَّحُكْمُكَ عَدْلٌ وَكَلٰمُكُ هُدًی وَوَحْیُكَ نُوْرٌ وَّرَحْمَتُكَ وَاسِعَۃٌ

WA HUKMOKA A’DLUN WA KALAAMOKA HODAN WA WAHYOKA NOORUN WA RAHMATOKA WAASE-A’TUN

Thy command is just; Thy utterance is right guidance and Thy Vahee (Revelation) is light. Thy mercy is vast and abundant;

وَّعَفْوُكَ عَظِیْمٌ وَّفَضْلُكَ كَثِیْرٌ وَّعَطَآؤُكَ جَزِیْلٌ وَّحَبْلُكَ مَتِیْنٌ

WA A’FWOKA A’ZEEMUN WA FAZLOKA KASEERUN WA A’TAAA-OKA JAZEELUN WA HABLOKA MATEENUN

Thy forgiveness is superb; Thy grace excessive; Thy gift is most respectable; Thy cord (rope) is strong;

وَّاِمْكَانُكَ عَتِیْدٌ وَّجَارُكَ عَزِیْزٌ وَّبَاْسُكَ شَدِیْدٌ وَّمَكْرُكَ مَكِیْدٌ

WA IMKAANOKA A’TEEDUN WA JAAROKA A’ZEEZUN WA BA-SOKA SHADEEDUN WA MAKROKA MAKEEDUN

Thy might is ever ready; Thy protégé is powerful; Thy wrath is severe and Thy stratagem is entrapping.

اَنْتَ یَا رَبِّ مَوْضِعُ كُلِّ شَكْوٰی حَاضِرُ كُلِّ مَلاآءٍ وَّشَاهِدُ كُلِّ نَجْوٰی

ANTA YAA RABBE MAW-ZE-O KULLE SHAKWAA HAAZERO KULLE MALAA-IN WA SHAAHEDO KULLE NAJWAA

O Lord! With Thee are lodged all complaints. Thou art present in all gatherings and art the Witness (possessing first hand Knowledge) of all Secrets

مُنْتَهٰی كُلِّ حَاجَۃٍ مُفَرِّجُ كُلِّ حُزْنٍ غِنٰی كُلِّ مِسْكِیْنٍ حِصْنُ كُلِّ هَارِبٍ

MUNTAHAA KULLE HAAJATIN MOFARREJO KULLE HUZNIN GHENAA KULLE MISKEENIN HISNO KULLE HAAREBIN

and the ultimate goal of all supplications; the Expeller of all Sorrows; the affluence of every needy person; the stronghold for every refugee;

اَمَانُ كُلِّ خَآءِفٍ حِرْزُ الضُّعَفَآءِ كَنْزُ الْفُقَرَآءِ مُفَرِّجُ الْغَمَّآءِ مُعِیْنُ الصَّالِحِیْنَ

AMAANO KULLE KHAAA-EFIN HIRZUZ ZO-A’FAAA-E KANZUL FOQARAAA-E MOFARREJUL GHAMMAAA-E MO-E’ENUS SAALEHEENA

Security for every terror-Stricken; a shield for the weak; a treasure for the indigent; the Destroyer of Grieves; the helper of the virtuous.

ذٰلِكَ اللهُ رَبُّنَا لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ تَكْفِیْ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ مَنْ تَوَكَّلَ عَلَیْكَ

ZAALEKALLAAHO RABBBONAA LAA ELAAHA ILLAA HOWA TAKFEE MIN 7E’BAADEKA MAN TAWAKKALA A’LAYKA

Such is Allah, our Lord. There is no deity but He Thou Satisfieth such of Thy slaves as trust unto Thee.

وَاَنْتَ جَارُ مَنْ لَاذَبِكَ وَتَضَرَّعَ اِلَیْكَ عِصْمَۃُ مَنِ اعْتَصَمَ بِكَ نَاصِحُ

WA ANTA JAARO MAN LAAZABEKA WA TAZARRA-A’ ELAYKA I’’SMATO MANE’TASAMA BEKA NAASEHO

Thou art the Protector of him who is firmly attached to Thee and humiliates himself before Thee; a shield for him who seeks refuge with Thee;

مَنِ انْتَصَرَ بِكَ تَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ لِمَنِ اسْتَغْفَرَكَ جَبَّارُ الْجَبَابِرَۃِ

MANIN TASARA BEKA TAGHFERUZ ZONOOBA LEMANIS TAGHFARAKA JABBAARUL JABAABERATE

the Helper of him who looks up to Thee for help; the Forgiver of sins for him who begs Thy pardon; the Compeller of the tyrant; the Grandest of the grand;

عَظِیْمُ الْعُظَمَآءِ كَبِیْرُ الْكُبَرَآءِ سَیِّدُ السَّادَاتِ مَوْلَی الْمَوَالِیْ

A’ZEEMUL O’ZAMAAA-E KABEERUL KUBRAAA-E SAYYEDUS SAADAATE MAWLAL MAWAALEE

the Greatest of the great; the Master of masters; the Lord of lords;

صَرِیْخُ الْمُسْتَصْرِخِیْنَ مُنَفِّسُ عَنِ الْمَكْرُوْبِیْنَ مُجِیْبُ دَعْوَۃِ الْمُضْطَرِّیْنَ

SAREEKHUL MUSTASREKHEENA MONAFFESUN A’NIL MAKROOBEENA MOJEEBO DA’WATIL MUZTARREENA

the Succour of the grieved; Responder to the call of the distressed;

اَسْمَعُ السَّامِعِیْنَ اَبْصَرُ النَّاظِرِیْنَ اَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِیْنَ

ASMA-U’S SAAME-E’EN ABSARUN NAAZEREEN AHKAMUL HAAKEMEEN

the Best of all listeners; the Best of all observers; the Best of all Judges;

اَسْرَعُ الْحَاسِبِیْنَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ خَیْرُ الْغَافِرِیْنَ

ASRA-U’L HAASEBEEN ARHAMUR RAAHEMEEN KHAYRUL GHAAFEREEN

the Quickest of all reckoners; the Most Merciful of all the merciful; the Best of all forgivers;

قَاضِیْ حَوَآئِجِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ مُغِیْثُ الصَّالِحِیْنَ

QAAZEYO HAWAA-EJIL MO-MENEEN MOGHEESUS SAALEHEEN

the Satisfier of the needs of the faithful and the Hearer of the appeals of the virtuous.

اَنْتَ اللهُ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ

ANTALLAAHO LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA RABBUL A’ALAMEENA

Thou art Allah. There is no deity but Thou. Thou art the Cherisher and Sustainer of all the worlds.

اَنْتَ الْخَالِقُ وَاَنَا الْمَخْلُوْقُ وَاَنْتَ الْمَالِكُ وَاَنَا الْمَمْلُوْكُ

ANTAL KHAALEQO WA ANAL MAKHLOOQO WA ANTAL MALEKO WA ANAL MAMLOOK

Thou art the Creator and I am the creature; Thou art the Master and I am a servant;

وَاَنْتَ الرَّبُّ وَاَنَا الْعَبْدُ وَاَنْتَ الرَّازِقُ وَاَنَا الْمَرْزُوْقُ

WA ANTAR RABBO WA ANAL A’BDO WA ANTAR RAAAZEQO WA ANAL MARZOOK

Thou art the Lord and I am a slave; Thou art the Provider (of the means of livelihood) while I am provided with sustenance (by Thee);

وَاَنْتَ الْمُعْطِیْ وَاَنَا السَّآئِلُ وَاَنْتَ الْجَوَادُ وَاَنَا الْبَخِیْلُ

WA ANTAL MO’TEE WA ANAS SAAA-EL WA ANTAL JAWAADO WA ANAL BAKHEEL

Thou art the Giver while I am a beggar! Thou art Generous while I am a miser;

وَاَنْتَ الْقَوِیُّ وَاَنَا الضَّعِیْفُ وَاَنْتَ الْعَزِیْزُ وَاَنَا الذَّلِیْلُ

WA ANTAL QAWIYYO WA ANAZ ZA-E’EFO WA ANTAL A’ZEEZO WA ANAZ ZALEEL

Thou art the Mighty while I am weak; Thou art Noble while I am humble;

وَاَنْتَ الْغَنِیُّ وَاَنَا الْفَقِیْرُ وَاَنْتَ السَّیِّدُ وَاَنَا الْعَبْدُ

WA ANTAL GHANIYYO WA ANAL FAQEER WA ANTAS SAYYEDO WA ANAL A’BD

Thou art Independent while I am needy; Thou art (my) Master while I am slave;

وَاَنْتَ الْغَافِرُ وَاَنَا الْمُسِیْٓئُ وَاَنْتَ الْعَالِمُ وَاَنَا الْجَاهِلُ

WA ANTAL GHAAFERO WA ANAL MO-SEEE-O WA ANTAL A’ALEMO WA ANAL JAAHEL

Thou art the Forgiver of sins while I am sinful; Thou art the Omniscient while I am ignorant.

وَاَنْتَ الْحَلِیْمُ وَاَنَا الْعَجُوْلُ وَاَنْتَ الرَّحْمٰنُ وَاَنَا الْمَرْحُوْمُ

WA ANTAL HALEEMO WA ANAL A’ZOOL WA ANTAR RAHMAANO WA ANAL MAHROOM

Thou art Forbearing while I am hasty; Thou art All-Merciful but I have been treated with mercy!

وَاَنْتَ الْمُعَافِیْ وَاَنَا الْمُبْتَلٰی وَاَنْتَ الْمُجِیْبُ وَاَنَا الْمُضْطَرُّ

WA ANTAL MO-A’AFEE WA ANAL MUBTALAA WA ANTAL MOJEEBO WA ANAL MUZTARRO

Thou art the Provider of Safety but I am involved in suffering; Thou art the Responder and I am the distressed.

وَاَنَا اَشْهَدُ بِاَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللهُ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ اَلْمُعْطِیْ عِبَادَكَ بِلَا سُؤَالٍ

WA ANAA ASH-HADO BE ANNAKA ANTALLAAHO LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTAL MO’TEE E’BAADAKA BELAA SO-AAALIN

And I bear witness that verily Thou art Allah. There is no deity but Thou. Thou bestoweth (favours) upon Thy slaves even without their asking;

وَاَشْهَدُ بِاَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْاَحَدُ الْمُتَفَرِّدُ الصَّمَدُ الْفَرْدُ

WA ASH-HADO BE ANNAKA ANTALLAAHUL AHADUL MOTAFAR-REDUS SAMADUL FARDO

and I bear witness that verily Thou art Allah, the One, the Peerless, the Unique, the Independent and the Single

وَاِلَیْكَ الْمَصِیْرُ وَصَلَّی اللهُ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاَهْلِ بَیْتِهِ الطَّیِّبِیْنَ الطَّاهِرِیْنَ

WA ELAYKAL MASEERO WA SALLALLAAHO A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AHLE BAYTEHIT TAYYEBEENAT TAAHEREENA

and verily to Thee we must return. Blessings of Allah be upon Mohammad (s.a.w.a.) and his AhleBait (kinsfolk), the holy and pure.

وَاغْفِرْلِیْ ذُنُوْبِیْ وَاسْتُرْ عَلَیَّ عُیُوْبِیْ وَافْتَحْ لِیْ مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ رَحْمَۃً

WAGH-FIRLEE ZONOOBEE WASTUR A’LAYYA O’YOOBEE WAFTAH LEE MIN LADUNKA RAHMATAN

And O Lord; forgive my sins and keep my faults concealed and extend to me Thy special mercy

وَّرِزْقًا وَّاسِعًا یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ

WA RIZQAN WAASE-A’N YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA WAL HAMDO LILLAAHE RABBIL A’ALAMEENA

and bounties of sustenance. O the All-Merciful! All the praise is due to Allah the Cherisher and Sustainer of all the worlds.

وَحَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِیْلُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّۃَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِیِّ الْعَظَیْمِ.

WA HASBONALLAAHO WA NE’MAL WAKEEL WA LAA HAWLA WALAA QUWWATA ILLAA BILLAHIL A’LIYYIL A’ZEEM.

And for us Allah is sufficient (helper) and the excellent Protector. There is neither might nor power but with Allah, the Great and High.
