Dua-e-Sayfee Sagheer (Dua Qaamoos)

Text and Translation

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMILLAHIR RAHMANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

رَبِّ اَدْخِلْنِيْ فِيْ لُجَّةِ بَحْرِ اَحَدِيَّتِكَ

RABBE ADKHILNEE FEE LUJJATE BAHRE AHADIYYATEKA

O my Lord, include me with the profundity of the ocean of Your Oneness

وَ طَمْطَامِ يَمِّ وَحْدَانِيَّتِكَ

WA TAMTAAME YAMME WAHDAANIYYATEKA

and in the enormity of the sea of Your singleness.

وَ قَوِّنِىْ بِقُوَّةِ سَطْوَةِ سُلْطَانِ فَرْدَانِيَّتِكَ

WA QAWWENEE BE-QUWWATE SATWATE SULTAANE FARDAANIYYATEKA

Strengthen me with the strength of the influence of the authority of Your Uniqueness

حَتّٰى اَخْرُجَ اِلٰى فَضَاۤءِ سَعَةِ رَحْمَتِكَ

HATTAA AKHROJA ELAA FAZAAA-E SA-A'TE RAHMATEKA

so that when I come out to the space of the breadth of Your mercy,

وَ فِيْ وَجْهِيْ لَمَعَاتُ بَرْقِ الْقُرْبِ مِنْ اٰثَارِ حِمَايَتِكَ

WA FEE WAJHEE LAMA-A'ATO BARQIL QURBE MIN AASAARE HEMAAYATEKA

my face will have the twinkles of the shining of the nearness to the traces of Your protection,

مَهِيْبًا بِهَيْبَتِكَ عَزِيْزًا بِعِنَايَتِكَ

MAHEEBAN BE-HAYBATEKA A'ZEEZAN BE-E'NAAYATEKA

being venerable out of Your venerability, mighty out of Your care (for me),

مُتَجَلِّلًا مُكَرَّمًا بِتَعْلِيْمِكَ وَ تَزْكِيَتِكَ

MOTAJALLELAN MOKARRAMAN BE-TA'LEEMEKA WA TAZKIYYATEKA

esteemed, and honored out of Your instruction and purity.

وَ اَلْبِسْنِيْ خِلَعَ الْعِزَّةِ وَ الْقَبُوْلِ

WA ALBISNEE KHELA-A'L I'ZZATE WAL QABOOLE

Dress me with the garments of dignity and tolerability,

وَ سَهِّلْ لِيْ مَنَاهِجَ الْوُصْلَةِ وَ الْوُصُوْلِ

WA SAHHIL LEE MANAAHEJAL WUSLATE WAL WOSOOLE

make easy for me to attain the courses of communication and attainment (to You),

وَ تَوِّجْنِيْ بِتَاجِ الْكَرَامَةِ وَ الْوَقَارِ

WA TAWWIJNEE BE-TAAJIL KARAAMATE WAL WAQAARE

adorn me with the crown of decorum and solemnity,

وَ اَلِّفْ بَيْنِيْ وَ بَيْنَ اَحِبَّاۤئِكَ فِيْ دَارِ الدُّنْيَا وَ دَارِ الْقَرَارِ

WA ALLIF BAYNEE WA BAYNA AHIBBAAA-EKA FEE DAARID DUNYAA WA DAARIL QARAARE

and put affection between your beloved ones and me in this worldly abode as well as the Abode of Enduring Settlement.

وَ ارْزُقْنِيْ مِنْ نُوْرِ اسْمِكَ هَيْبَةً

WAR ZUQNEE MIN NOORIS MEKA HAYBATAN

Out of the illumination of Your Name,

وَ سَطْوَةً تَنْقَادُ لِيَ الْقُلُوْبُ وَ الْاَرْوَاحُ

WA SATWATAN TANQAADO LEYAL QOLOOBO WAL ARWAAHO

confer upon me with honor and authority due to which all hearts and souls will submit to me,

وَ تَخْضَعُ لَدَيَّ النُّفُوْسُ وَ الْاَشْبَاحُ

WA TAKHZA-O' LADAYYAN NOFOOSO WAL ASHBAAHO

and all selves and ghosts will succumb to me.

يَا مَنْ ذَلَّتْ لَهٗ رِقَابُ الْجَبَابِرَةِ

YAA MAN ZALLAT LAHU REQAABUL JABAABERATE

O He to Whom all the tyrants surrender,

وَ خَضَعَتْ لَدَيْهِ اَعْنَاقُ الْاَكَاسِرَةِ

WA KHAZA-A'T LADAYHE A-A'NAAQUL AKAASERATE

and before Whom all the kings submit!

لَا مَلْجَاَ وَ لَا مَنْجٰى مِنْكَ اِلَّا اِلَيْكَ

LAA MALJAA WA LAA MANJAA MINKA ILLAA ELAYKA

There in neither shelter nor refuge (to protect) against You save to You,

وَ لَاۤ اِعَانَةَ اِلَّا بِكَ وَ لَاۤ اتِّكَاۤءَ اِلَّا عَلَيْكَ

WA LAA E-A'ANATA ILLAA BEKA WA LAT-TEKAA-A ILLAA A'LAYKAD

there is no help save through You, and there is no reliance save upon You.

ادْفَعْ عَنِّيْ كَيْدَ الْحَاسِدِيْنَ

FA' A'NNEE KAYDAL HAASEDEENA.

Repel against me the trickeries of the envious ones

وَ ظُلُمَاتِ شَرِّ الْمُعَانِدِيْنَ

WA ZOLOMAATE SHARRIL MO-A'ANEDEENA

and the murk of the evils of the stubborn ones.

وَ ارْحَمْنِيْ تَحْتَ سُرَادِقَاتِ عَرْشِكَ

WAR HAMNEE TAHTA SORAADEQAATE A'RSHEKA

Have mercy upon me under the pavilion of Your Throne;

يَا اَكْرَمَ الْاَكْرَمِيْنَ

YAA AKRAMAL AKRAMEENA

O most Generous of all those who show generosity!

اَيِّدْ ظَاهِرِيْ فِيْ تَحْصِيْلِ مَرَاضِيْكَ

AYYID ZAAHEREE FEE TAHSEELE MARAAZEEKA

Aid my appearance to attain Your pleasure

وَ نَوِّرْ قَلْبِيْ وَ سِرِّيْ بِالْاِطِّلَاعِ عَلٰى مَنَاهِجِ مَسَاعِيْكَ

WA NAWWIR QALBEE WA SIRREE BIL-ITTELAA-E' A'LAA MANAAHEJE MASAA-E'EKA

and illuminate my heart and inner self by making me acquainted with the courses to acting for Your sake.

اِلٰهِيْ كَيْفَ اَصْدُرُ عَنْ بَابِكَ بِخَيْبَةٍ مِّنْكَ

ELAAHEE KAYFA ASDORO A'N BAABEKA BE-KHAYBATIM MINKA

O my God, how does it come that I leave Your Door with disappointment

وَ قَدْ وَرَدْتُهٗ عَلٰى ثِقَةٍ بِكَ

WA QAD WARADTOHU A'LAA SEQATIN BEKA
