The eighth hour, which is the space of time between the amount of four units of prayer after the Noon Prayer and the Afternoon Prayer, is dedicated to Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (a). The supplication at this hour is the following:

O Best of those called upon! O Best of those who give! O Best of those who are asked! O He by Whose name the light of day shines and the darkness of night falls, by Whose name the downpour of the flood streams, and Who has provided His intimate friends with every good! O He Whose light rises above the heavens, Whose radiance covers the earth, and Whose mercy spans east and west! O Vast in generosity! I beseech You by the right of Ali ibn Musa al-Rida, upon both of them be peace, and I present him before my needs, that You bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, and that You do for me such-and-such.
You may now mention your needs.
