Dua for the 26th Night of Ramadhan

Text and Translation

يَا جَاعِلَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ اٰيَتَيْنِ، يَا مَنْ مَحَا اٰيَةَ اللَّيْلِ وَجَعَلَ اٰيَةَ النَّهَارِ مُبْصِرَةً لِتَبْتَغُوْا فَضْلًا مِنْهُ وَرِضْوَانًا، يَا مُفَصِّلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ تَفْصِيْلًا، يَا مَاجِدُ يَا وَهَّابُ، يَا اَللهُ يَا جَوَادُ، يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ يَا اَللهُ، لَكَ الْاَسْمَاۤءُ الْحُسْنٰى، وَالْاَمْثَالُ الْعُلْيَا، وَالْكِبْرِيَاۤءُ وَالْاٰلَاۤءُ، اَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَاَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمِيْ فِيْ هٰذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ فِي السُّعَدَاۤءِ، وَرُوْحِيْ مَعَ الشُّهَدَاۤءِ وَاِحْسَانِيْ فِيْ عِلِّيِّيْنَ، وَاِسَاۤءَتِيْ مَغْفُوْرَةً، وَاَنْ تَهَبَ لِيْ يَقِيْنًا تُبَاشِرُ بِهٖ قَلْبِيْ، وَاِيْمَانًا يُذْهِبُ الشَّكَّ عَنِّيْ، وَتُرْضِيَنِيْ بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِيْ، وَاٰتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْاٰخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الْحَرِيْقِ، وَارْزُقْنِيْ فِيْهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ وَالرَّغْبَةَ اِلَيْكَ وَالْاِنَابَةَ وَالتَّوْبَةَ وَالتَّوْفِيْقَ لِمَا وَفَّقْتَ لَهٗ مُحَمَّدًا وَاٰلَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ.

YAA JAA-I'LAL LAYLI WAN NAHAARI AAYATAYN YAA MAN MAH'AA AAYATAL LAYLI WA JA-A'LA AAYATAN NAHAARI MUBS'IRATAN LI-TABTAGHO FAZ"LAN MINHU WA RIZWAANAA YAA MUFAS'S'ILA KULI SHAY-IN TAFS'EELAA YAA MAAJIDU YAA WAHHAAB YAA ALLAAHU YAA JAWAAD YAA ALLAAH YAAA ALLAAH YAA ALLAAH LAKAL ASMAAA-UL H'USNAA WAL AMTHAALUL U'LYAA WAL KIBRIYAAA WAL AALAAA-U AS-ALUKA AN TUS'ALLIYA A'LAA MUH'AMMADIN WA AALI MUH'AMMAD WA AN TAJ-A'LAS-MEE FEE HAAD'IHIL LAYLATI FIS SU-A'DAAA-I WA ROOH'EE MA-A'SH SHUHADAAA-I WA IH'SAANEE FEE I'LLIYYEENA WA ISAAA-ATEE MAGHFOORAH WA AN TAHABA LEE YAQEENAN TUBAASHIRU BIHEE QALBEE WA EEMAANAN YUD'HIBUSH SHAKKA A'NNEE WA TURZ"IYANEE BINAA QASAMTA LEE WA AATINAA FID DUNYAA H'ASANATAN WA FIL AAKHIRATI H'ASANATAN WA QINAA A'D'AABIN NAARIL H'AREEQ WAR-ZUQNEE FEEHAA D'IKRAKA WA SHUKRAKA WAR RAGHBATA ILAYKA WAL INAABATA WAT-TAWFEEQA LIMAA WAFFAQTA LAHOO MUH'AMMADAN WA AALI MUH'AMMAD S'ALLAALLAAHU A'LAYHI WA A'LAYHIM

O Maker of night and daylight two portents! O He Who makes dark the portent of night and makes the portent of the daylight sightgiving so that you may seek favor and pleasure from Him! O He Who expounds everything with clear expounding! O All-glorious! O Alldonor! O Allah! O All- magnanimous! O Allah! O Allah! O Allah! To You are the Most Excellent Names, the most elevated examples, greatness, and bounties. I beseech You to bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, include my name with the list of the happiest ones, add my soul to the martyrs, record my good deeds in the most exalted rank, decide my offense to be forgiven, grant me certitude that fills in my heart and faith that removes doubt from me, make me feel satisfied with that which You decide for me, grant us reward in this world and reward in the Hereafter, save us from the torment of the burning Fire, and confer upon us at this night Your mentioning, thanking You, desiring for You, turning to You, and success to that to which You led Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, peace be upon him and them.
