Text and Translation

Imam Ali (a) said: put your hand on the ailing part and repeat the following three times:

ALLAAHO ALLAAHO ALLAAHO RABBEE HAQQAL LAA USHRIKU BIHI SHAY-AA

Allah, Allah, Allah is truly my Lord; I associate nothing with Him.

ALLAAHUMMA ANTA LAHAA WA LI-KULLI A'ZEEMATIN FA-FARRIJHAA A'NNEE

O Allah, You are sufficient for it and for every great calamity; so relieve it from me.

Imam al-Sadiq (a) said in this regard: put your hand on the ailing part and say:

BISMIL LAAH

In the name of Allah,

Then rub the ailing part with your hand and repeat the following evil-repelling prayer (ta'widh) seven times:

A'OOZU BI-I'ZZATIL LAAHI WA A'OOZU BI-QUDRATIL LAAHI WA A'OOZU BI-JALAALIL LAAHI WA A'OOZU BI-A'ZAMATIL LAAHI WA A'OOZU BI-JAM-I'L LAAHI WA A'OOZU BI-RASOOLIL LAAHI SALLAL LAAHO A'LAYHI WA AALIHI WA A'OOZU BI-ASMAAA-IL LAAHI MIN SHARRI MAA AHZARU WA MIN SHARRI MAA AKHAAFU A'LAA NAFSEE

I seek refuge in the might of Allah, and I seek refuge in the power of Allah, and I seek refuge in the majesty of Allah, and I seek refuge in the greatness of Allah, and I seek refuge in the totality of Allah, and I seek refuge in the Messenger of Allah — Allah's blessings be upon him and his Household — and I seek refuge in the names of Allah from the evil of what I am wary of and from the evil of what I fear for myself.
