Quoting Misbah al-Mutahajjid, al-Kaf'ami has reported that whoever is ailing may say the following supplicatory prayer in the second prostration of the first two units of the Night Prayer:

YAA A'LIYYU YAA A'ZEEM, YAA RAHMAANO YAA RAHEEM, YAA SAMEE-A'D DA-A'WAAT, YAA MU'TIYAL KHAYRAAT, SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALIHI WA A'TINEE MIN KHAYRID DUNYAA WAL AAKHIRATI MAA ANTA AHLUH, WASRIF A'NNEE MIN SHARRID DUNYAA WAL AAKHIRATI MAA ANTA AHLUH, WA AZ-HIB A'NNEE HAAZAL WAJA'.

O 'Ali, O Most Great! O All-beneficent, O All-merciful! O Hearer of prayers, O Giver of good things! Bless Muhammad and his Household, and grant me of the good of this world and the Hereafter what You are worthy to grant, turn away from me the evil of this world and the Hereafter that You are worthy to turn away, and take away from me this pain.

(Here name the disease or ailment, then say:)

FA-INNAHU QAD GHAAZANEE WA AHZANANEE.

for it has enraged me and grieved me.

It is recommended to supplicate earnestly, for the more earnest the prayer, the sooner it is answered.

Quoted from 'Uddat al-Da'i, Imam al-Sadiq (a) is reported to have said that when you are ailing, you should go outdoors, raise your hands towards the sky, and say the following supplicatory prayer:

ALLAAHUMMA INNAKA A'YYARTA AQWAAMAN FEE KITAABIKA FAQULT: (QULID U'W LAZEENA ZA-A'MTUM MIN DOONIHI FA-LAA YAMLIKOONA KASHFAD DURRI A'NKUM WA LAA TAHWEELAA), FA-YAA MAL LAA YAMLIKU KASHFA DURREE WA LAA TAHWEELAHU A'NNEE AHADUN GHAYRUH, SALLI A'LAA MUHAMMADIN WA AALIHI WAKSHIF DURREE WA HAWWILHU ILAA MAY YAD-U'W MA-A'KA ILAAHAN AAKHAR, FA-INNEE ASH-HADU AL LAA ILAAHA GHAYRUK.

O Allah, You have reproached certain peoples in Your Book, saying: "Say: Call on those you claim besides Him — they have no power to remove affliction from you, nor to divert it." So, O You without Whom none has power to remove my affliction or divert it from me, bless Muhammad and his Household, remove my affliction, and divert it instead upon whoever calls, along with You, on another god, for I bear witness that there is no god but You.

It is also reported that any believer who is diseased or ailing should rub the ailing part with his hand while reciting the following verse with sincerity:

WA NUNAZZILU MINAL QUR-AANI MAA HUWA SHIFAAA-UW WA RAHMATUL LIL MU'MINEEN, WA LAA YAZEEDUZ ZAALIMEENA ILLAA KHASAARAA.

And We send down, of the Qur'an, that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers, though it increases the wrongdoers in nothing but loss.

Whoever does this will be restored to health, whatever his disease may be — the holy verse itself affirms that it carries healing and mercy for the believers.
