Dua for Repelling the Evil of Iblis

Text and Translation

This supplicatory prayer for repelling the evil of Iblis (i.e. Satan) is also quoted from the book of al-Mujtana:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ اِبْلِيْسَ عَبْدٌ مِنْ عَبِيْدِكَ يَرَانِىْ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَاۤ اَرَاهُ وَ اَنْتَ تَرَاهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَرَاكَ وَ اَنْتَ اَقْوٰى عَلٰۤى اَمْرِهٖ كُلِّهٖ وَ هُوَ لَايَقْوٰى عَلٰى شَيْءٍ مِنْ اَمْرِكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاَنَا اَسْتَعِيْنُ بِكَ عَلَيْهِ يَا رَبِّ فَاِنِّىْ لَا طَاقَةَ لِىْ بِهٖ وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ لِىْ عَلَيْهِ اِلَّا بِكَ يَا رَبِّ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنْ اَرَادَنِىْ فَاَرِدْهُ وَ اِنْ كَادَنِىْ فَكِدْهُ وَاكْفِنِىْ شَرَّهٗ وَ اجْعَلْ كَيْدَهٗ فِىْ نَحْرِهٖ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَاۤ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ وَ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ.

ALLAAHUMMA INNA IBLEESA A’BDUN MIN A’BEEDEKA YARAANEE MIN HAYSO LAA ARAAHO WA ANTA TARAAHO MIN HAYSO LAA YARAAKA WA ANTA AQWAA A’LAA AMREHI KOLLEHI WA HOWA LAA YAQWAA A’LAA SHAY-iN MIN AMREKA ALLAAHUMMA FA-ANAA ASTA-E’ENO BEKA A’LAYHE YAA RABBE FA-INNEE LAA TAAQATA LEE BEHI WA LAA HAWLA WA LAA QUWWATA LEE A’LAYHE ILLAA BEKA YAA RABBE ALLAAHUMMA IN ARAADANEE FA-ARIDHO WA IN KAADANEE FAKID-HO WAK-FENEE SHARRAHU WAJ-A’L KAYDAHU FEE NAHREHI BERAHMATEKA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA WA SALLAL LAAHO A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALEHIT TAAHEREENA.

O Allah, indeed Iblis is a servant among Your servants; he sees me from where I do not see him, while You see him from where he does not see You. You are more powerful over all of his affairs, while he has no power over anything of Your affairs. O Allah, I seek Your assistance against him, O my Lord, for I have no strength to face him, and there is no power nor might for me against him except through You, O my Lord. O Allah, if he intends (harm) for me, then intend it for him; and if he plots against me, then plot against him. Suffice me against his evil and turn his plot back upon his own throat, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful. And may Allah bless Muhammad and his pure family.
