Dua for Protection of the house from damage & theft

Text and Translation

If you fear lest your house or the place where you sleep may collapse on you, you may recite this verse of [Surah Fatir](A39) (No. 35):

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُمْسِكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ اَنْ تَزُوْلَا ۚوَلَئِنْ زَالَتَاۤ اِنْ اَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ اَحَدٍ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِهٖ ؕ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ حَلِيْمًا غَفُوْرًا‏(41)

INNAL LAAHA YUMSEKUS SAMAAWAATE WAL ARZA AN TAZOOLAA, WA LA-IN ZAALATAA IN AMSAKAHOMAA MIN AHADIM MIM BA'DEH, INNAHU KAANA HALEEMAN GHAFOORAA.

It is Allah Who sustains the heavens and the earth, lest they cease (to function): and if they should fail, there is none — not one — who can sustain them thereafter: Verily He is Most Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving.

If you fear thieves, you may recite the last two verses of [Surah al-Isra](A21) (No. 17):

قُلِ ادْعُوا اللّٰهَ اَوِ ادْعُوا الرَّحْمٰنَ ؕ اَ يًّا مَّا تَدْعُوْا فَلَهُ الْاَسْمَآءُ الْحُسْنٰى ۚ وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا وَابْتَغِ بَيْنَ ذٰلِكَ سَبِيْلًا‏(110)

QOLIL ADU’OOA LAAHA AWE’ ADU’OOA BIL-GHAYBE AAYA MAA TADU’OOA FA LAHUL ASMAA-UL AL-HUSNAA WA LAA TAJHAR BESALAATEKA WA LAA TUKHAAFET BEHAA WABTAGHE BAYNA ZAA LEKA SABEELAA.

Say: "Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Neither speak thy Prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between."

وَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَّلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهٗ شَرِيْكٌ فِى الْمُلْكِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهٗ وَلِىٌّ مِّنَ الذُّلِّ وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيْرًا‏(111)

WA HAMDO LILLAAHE LAZEE LAM YATTAKHEZ LAAHO LAM YAKUL LAHU SHAREEKUN FIL AL-MULKE WA LAM YAKUL LAHU WALIYYUN MENAL AZ-ZULLE WAKABBERHU TAKBEERAN.

Say: "Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion: Nor (needs) He any to protect Him from humiliation: yea, magnify Him for His greatness and glory!"
