Dua e Sanamay Quraish

Text and Translation

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ.

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN.

O Allah! Send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

وَالْعَنْ صَنَمَىْ قُرَيْشٍ وَجِبْتَيْهَا وَطَاغُوْتَيْهَا

WAL A’N SANAMAY QURAISHIN WA JIBTAYHAA WA TAAGHOOTAYHAA

And Curse the two idols of Quraish, and their two magicians, and their two tyrants,

وَاِفْكَیْهَا وَابْنَتَیْهِمَا

WA IFQAYHAA WAB NATAYHEMAL

and their two accusers of falsehood, and their two daughters,

اللَّذَیْنِ خَالَفَا اَمْرَكَ وَاَنْكَرَا وَحْیَكَ

LAZAYNE KHAALAFAA AMRAKA WA ANKARAA WAHYAKA

that opposed Your order, and denied Your revelation

وَجَحَدَا اِنْعَامَكَ وَعَصَیَا رَسُوْلَكَ

WA JAHADAA INA’AMAKA WA A’SAYAA RASOOLAKA

and rejected Your graces, and disobeyed Your Messenger,

وَقَلَّبَا دِیْنَكَ وَحَرَّفَا كِتَابَكَ

WA QALLABAA DEENAKA WA HARRAFAA KETAABAKA

and destroyed Your religion, and distorted Your Book,

وَاَحَبَّا اَعْدَآئَكَ وَجَحَدَا اٰلَآءَكَ

WA AHABBA A-A’DAA-AKA WA JAHADAA AALAAA-AKA

and loved Your enemies, and negated Your Graciousness,

وَعَطَّلَا اَحْكَامَكَ وَاَبْطَلَا فَرَآئِضَكَ

WA A’TTALAA AHKAAMAKA WA ABTALAA FARAAA-EZAKA

and obstructed Your laws, and revocated Your obligations,

وَاَلْحَدَا فِیْ اٰیَاتِكَ وَعَادَیَا اَوْلِیَآئَكَ

WA ALHADAA FEE AAYAATEKA WA A’AADAYAA AWLEYAAA-AKA

and disbelieved in Your Signs, and antagonized Your Allies,

وَوَالَیَا اَعْدَآئَكَ وَخَرَّبَا بِلَادَكَ

WA WAALAYAA A’ADAAA-AKA WA KHARRABAA BELAADAKA

and befriended Your enemies, and ruined Your cities,

وَاَفْسَدَا عِبَادَكَ

WA AFSADAA E’BAADAKA

and corrupted Your servants.

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْهُمَا وَاَتْبَاعَهُمَا وَاَوْلِیَآئَهُمَا

ALLAAHUMMAL A’NHOMAA WA ATBAA-A’HOMAA WA AWLEYAAA-AHOMAA

O Allah! Cure them both and their admirers and their friends

وَاَشْیَاعَهُمَا وَمُحِبِّیْهِمَا

WA ASHYAA-A’HOMAA WA HOHIBBEEHEMAA

and their followers and their lovers

فَقَدْ اَخْرَبَا بَیْتَ النُّبُوَّۃِ

FAQAD AKHRABAA BAYTAN NOBUWWATE

for they have ruined the house of Prophethood

وَرَدَمَا بَابَهٗ وَنَقَضَا سَقْفَهٗ

WA RADAMAA BAABAHU WA NAQAZAA SAQFAHU

and closed its door, and broken its roof,

وَاَلْحَقَا سَمَائَهٗ بِاَرْضِهٖ وَعَالِیَهٗ بِسَافِلِهٖ

WA ALHAQAA SAMAAA-AHU BE-ARZEHI WA A’ALEYAHU BE-SAAFELEHI

and brought down its elevated ceiling to its ground, and its height to a lower status,

وَظَاهِرَهٗ بِبَاطِنِهٖ وَاسْتَاْصَلَا اَهْلَهٗ

WA ZAAHERAHU BE-BAATENEHI WAS TAASALAA AHLAHU

and its exterior to its interior, and destroyed its inhabitants,

وَاَبَادَ اَنْصَارَهٗ وَقَتَلَا اَطْفَالَهٗ

WA ABADAA ANSAARAHU WA QATALAA ATFAALAHU

and exiled their helpers, and killed their children,

وَاَخْلَیَا مِنْبَرَهٗ مِنْ وَصِیِّهٖ وَوَارِثِ عِلْمِهٖ

WA AKHLAYAA MINBARAHU MIN WASIYYEHI WA WAARESE I’LMEHI

and confiscated their pulpit from its successor and inheritor,

وَجَحَدَا اِمَامَتَهٗ وَاَشْرَكَا بِرَبِّهِمَا

WA JAHADAA EMAAMATAHU WA ASHRAKAA BERABBEHEMAA

and negated the righteous leadership (Imamat) and ascribed a partner to their Lord,

فَعَظِّمْ ذَنْبَهُمَا وَخَلِّدْهُمَا فِیْ سَقَرَ

FA-A’ZZIM ZAMBAHOMAA WA KHALLIDHOMAA FEE SAQARA

so maximize their sins and make them abide forever in the bottom of Hell,

وَمَا اَدْرَاكَ مَا سَقَرَ لَا تُبْقِیْ وَلَا تَذَرْ

WA MAA ADRAAKA MAA SAQARA LAA TUBQEE WA LAA TAZAR

And what will make you realize what the bottom of hell is? It leaves nothing nor spares anything. (The Holy Qur’an, 74:27-28)

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْهُمْ بِعَدَدِ كُلِّ مُنْكَرٍ اَتَوْهُ

ALLAAHUMMAL A’NHUM BE-A’DADE KULLE MUNKARIN ATAWHO

O Allah! Curse them by the number of each evil they have brought,

وَحَقٍّ اَخْفَوْهُ وَمِنْبَرٍ عَلَوْهُ

WA HAQQIN AKHFAWHO WA MINBARIN A’LAWHO

and every truth they concealed, and every pulpit they ascended,

وَمُؤْمِنٍ اَرْجَوْهُ وَمُنَافِقٍ وَّلَّوْهُ

WA MOAMENIN ARZAWHO WA MONAAFEQIN WALLAWHO

and every believer they hurt, and every hypocrite they befriended,

وَوَلِیٍّ اٰذَوْهُ وَطَرِیْدٍ اٰوَوْهُ

WA WALIYYIN AAZAWHO WA TAREEDIN AAWAWHO

and every friend they harmed, and every outcast they sheltered,

وَصَادِقٍ طَرَدُوْهُ وَكَافِرٍ نَصَرُوْهُ

WA SAADEQIN TARADOOHO WA KAAFERIN NASAROOHO

And every truthful person they exiled, and every disbeliever they supported,

وَاِمَامٍ قَهَرُوْهُ وَفَرْضٍ غَیَّرُوْهُ

WA EMAAMIN QAHAROOHO WA FARZIN GHAYYAROOHO

and every Imam they overpowered, and every obligatory law they altered,

وَاَثَرٍ اَنْكَرُوْهُ وَشَرٍّ اٰثَرُوْهُ

WA ASARIN ANKAROOHO WA SHARRIN AASAROOHO

and every tradition they denied, and every evil they authorized,

وَدَمٍ اَرَاقُوْهُ وَخَیْرٍ بَدَّلُوْهُ

WA DAMIN ARAQOOHO WA KHABARIN BADDALOOHO

and every blood they shed, and every goodness they changed,

وَكُفْرٍ نَصَبُوْهُ وَاِرْثٍ غَصَبُوْهُ

WA KUFRIN NASABOOHO WA IRSIN GHASABOOHO

and every disbelief they established, and every inheritance they usurped,

وَفَیْءٍ اقْتَطَعُوْهُ وَسُحْتٍ اَكَلُوْهُ

WA FAY-ENIQ TATA-O’OHO WA SOHTIN AKALOOHO

and every portion of booty they seized, and every illicit gain they consumed,

وَخُمْسٍ اسْتَحَلُّوْهُ وَبَاطِلٍ اَسَّسُوْهُ

WA KHUMSENIS TAHALLOOHO WA BAATELIN ASSASOOHO

and every Khums they made lawful for themselves, and every falsehood they established,

وَجَوْرٍ بَسَطُوْهُ وَنِفَاقٍ اَسَرُّوْهُ

WA JAWRIN BASATOOHO WA NEFAAQIN ASARROOHO

and every oppression they spread, and every hypocrisy they hid,

وَغَدْرٍ اَضْمَرُوْهُ وَظِلٍّ نَشَرُوْهُ

WA GHADARIN AZAMAROOHO WA ZILLIN NASHAROOHO

and every treachery they concealed, and every falsehood they spread,

وَوَعْدٍ اَخْلَفُوْهُ وَاَمَانٍ خَانُوْهُ

WA WA’DIN AKHLAFOOHO WA AMAANIN KHAANOOHO

and promises they have dishonoured, and trust they betrayed,

وَعَهْدٍ نَقَضُوْهُ وَحَلَالٍ حَرَّمُوْهُ

WA A’HDIN NAQAZOOHO WA HALAALIN HARRAMOOHO

and every covenant they broke, and every lawful thing they forbade,

وَحَرَامٍ اَحَلُّوْهُ وَبَطْنٍ فَتَقُوْهُ

WA HARAAMIN HALLALOOHO WA BATNIN FATAQOOHO

and every forbidden thing they made lawful, and every abdomen they rupture,

وَجَنِیْنٍ اَسْقَطُوْهُ وَضِلْعٍ دَقُّوْهُ

WA JANEENIN ASQATOOHO WA ZIL-I’N DAQQOOHO

and every foetus they aborted, and every rib they crushed,

وَصَكٍّ مَّزَّقُوْهُ وَشَمْلٍ بَدَّدُوْهُ

WA SAKKIN MAZZAQOOHO WA SHAMLIN BADDADOOHO

and every document they shredded, and every gathering they dispersed,

وَعَزِیْزٍ اَذَلُّوْهُ وَذَلِیْلٍ اَعَزُّوْهُ

WA A’ZEEZIN AZALLOOHO WA ZALEELIN A-A’ZZOOHO

and every honoured one they degraded, and every degraded one they honoured,

وَحَقٍّ مَنَعُوْهُ وَكَذِبٍ دَلَّسُوْهُ

WA HAQQIN MANA-O’OHO WA KAZEBIN DALLASOOHO

and every right they denied, and every lie they fabricated,

وَحُكْمٍ قَلَّبُوْهُ

WA HUKMIN QALLABOOHO

and every ruling they altered.

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْهُمَا بِكُلِّ اٰیَۃٍ حَرَّفُوْهَا

ALLAAHUMMAL A’NHOMAA BEKULLE AAYATIN HARRAFOOHO

O Allah! Curse them both for each (Quranic) verse they have distorted,

وَفَرِیْضَۃٍ تَرَكُوْهَا وَسُنَّۃٍ غَیَّرُوْهَا

WA FAREEZATIN TARAKOOHAA WA SUNNATIN GHAYYAROOHAA

and obligation they abandoned, and tradition they altered.

وَرُسُوْمٍ مَنَعُوْهَا وَاَحْكَامٍ عَطَّلُوْهَا

WA ROSOOMIN MANA-O’OHAA WA AHKAAMIN A’TTALOOHAA

and tradition they have distorted, and (Divine) laws they forbade,

وَبَیْعَۃٍ نَكَسُوْهَا دَعْوٰى اَبْطَلُوْهَا

WA BAY-A’TIN NAKASOOHAA WA DA’WAA ABTALOOHAA

and the allegiance they have violated, and call they have invalidated,

وَبَیِّنَۃٍ اَنْكَرُوْهَا وَحِیْلَۃٍ اَحْدَثُوْهَا

WA BAYYENATIN ANKAROOHAA WA HILYATIN AHDASOOHAA

and evidence they have denied, and crime they have committed,

وَخِیَانَۃٍ اَوْرَدُوْهَا وَعَقَبَۃٍ اِرْتَقُوْهَا

WA KHEYAANATIN AWRADOOHAA WA A’QABATIN IRTAQOOHAA

and betrayal they have performed, and the hill they have climbed,

وَدِبَابٍ دَحْرَجُوْهَا وَاَزْیَافٍ لَزَمُوْهَا

WA DEBAABIN DAH-RAJOOHAA WA AZYAAFIN LAZAMOOHAA

and fixed rules they have changed, and the defects they have promoted,

وَشَهَادَاتٍ كَتَمُوْهَا وَوَصِیَّۃٍ ضَیَّعُوْهَا

WA SHA-HAADATIN KATAMOOHAA WA WASIYYATIN ZAYYA-O’OHAA

and testimonies they have concealed, and advice they have made useless.

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْهُمَا فِیْ مَكْنُوْنِ السِّرِّ وَظَاهِرِ الْعَلَانِیَۃِ

ALLAAHUMMAL A’NHOMAA FEE MAKNOONIS SIRRE WA ZAAHERIL A’LAANEYATE

O Allah! Curse those two secretly as well as openly,

لَعْنًا كثِیْرًا اَبَدًا دَآئِمًا دَآئِبًا سَرْمَدًا

LA’NAN KASEERAN ABADAN DAAA-EMAN DAAA-EBAN SARMADAN

a curse that is great in number, everlasting, abiding, persistent, eternal,

لَا انْقِطَاعَ لِاَمَدِهٖ وَلَا نَفَادَ لِعَدَدِهٖ

LAN QETAA-A’ LE-AMADEHI WA LAA NAFAADA LE-A’DADEHI

for a limitless duration, for unlimited number of times and without any bounds.

لَعْنًا یَغْدُوْا اَوَّلُهٗ وَلَا يَرُوْحُ اٰخِرُهٗ لَهُمْ

LA’NAN YAGHDOO AWWALOHU WA LAA YAROOHO AAKHEROHU LAHUM

A curse that commences from the first one (of them) and continues after the last one of them

وَلِاَعْوَانِهِمْ وَاَنْصَارِهِمْ

WA LE-AA’WAANEHIM WA ANSAAREHIM

and for their helpers, and their associates,

وَمُحِبِّیْهِمْ وَمُوَالِیْهِمْ

WA MOHIBBEEHIM WA MOWAALEEHIM

and their lovers, and their friends,

وَالْمُسْلِمِیْنَ لَهُمْ وَالْمَائِلِیْنَ اِلَیْهِمْ

WAL MUSLEMEENA LAHUM WAL MAA-ELEENA ELAYHIM

and their submitters and those who are inclined towards them,

وَالنَّاهِضِیْنَ بِاِحْتِجَاجِهِمْ وَالْمُقْتَدِیْنَ بِكَلَامِهِمْ

WAN NAAHEZEENA BE-EHTEJAAJEHIM WAL-MUQTADEENA BE-KALAAMEHIM

and those stand with them in their protests and those who follow their words

وَالْمُصَدِّقِیْنَ بِاَحْكَامِهِمْ.

WAL MOSADDEQEENA BE-AHKAAMEHIM.

and those who approve their actions.

Then say four times:

اَللّٰهُمَّ عَذِّبْهُمْ عَذَابًا يَسْتَغِيْثُ مِنْهُ اَهْلُ النَّارِ

ALLAAHUMMA A’ZZIBHUM A’ZAABAN YASTAGHEESO MINHO AHLUN NAARE

O Allah! Punish them a punishment that the people of Hell seek refuge from,

آمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

AAMEENA RABBAL A’ALAMEENA.

So be it, Lord of the Worlds.
