Dua-e-Iftetaah

Text and Translation

A special part of this dua is dedicated to supplications for Hazrat Imam Mahdi (a.s.) – supplication for his health and well being; supplication for his respect; supplication for our own safety and the protection of our respect for his sake as well as supplications for his early reappearance. It also seeks a pure and long government and wealth for him; the elevation of the flag of Islam and the end of all forms of polytheism and hypocrisy. In addition to this, the sentences of this dua seek help for repayment of debts, for expansion of sustenance and alleviation of all difficulties and worries.

The last part of the dua is expressed as a plea before Allah, the Almighty in which we convey our love for Ahle Bayt (a.s.) right from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) up to Imam Mahdi (a.s.). In addition, the true meaning of Iftetah, which is victory or good start is shown to be the time of reappearance of Imam-e-Zamana (a.t.f.s.). These expressions of the dua are given below –

“O Allah! We complain to You, the loss of our prophet, Your blessings be upon him and his progeny and the occulation of our master, the proliferate of our enemies, the scarcity of our numbers, the severity of mischief upon us, oppositions of the time against us. Send blessings upon Mohammed (s.a.w.a.) and his progeny. And help us in all these, with a hastened victory from Your side. And by the removal of difficulties and a mighty helping, and a truthful king whom You manifest and mercy from Your side which You make us respect and cover with Your safety through Your Mercy, O the Most Merciful of mercifuls.”

Therefore, we request all believers that from the eve of the Holy month of Ramazan till its last night, one should not forsake the recitation of this dua for even a single night. In order that one receives an increased reward for this action, one should make an intention from the first night itself to recite this dua on behalf of Imam-e-Zamana (a.t.f.s.) and offer the reward of this recitation to Hazrat Zahra (s.a.). Inshallah, with this action, he will recieve the tawfeeq to recite the dua in the right spirit.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَفْتَتِحُ الثَّنَآءَ بِحَمْدِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AFTATEHUS SANAA-A BE-HAMDEKA

O Allah! I begin the Glorification with Thy Praise

وَاَنْتَ مُسَدِّدٌ لِلصَّوَابِ بِمَنِّكَ

WA ANTA MOSADDEDUN LIS-SAWAABE BE-MANNEKA

While You grant freely of the portion (bounties) because of Your obligation (on me)

وَاَيْقَنْتُ اَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ فِىْ مَوْضِعِ الْعَفْوِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ

WA AYQANTO ANNAKA ANTA ARHAMUR RAAHEMEENA FEE MAWZE-I’L A’FWE WAR-RAHMATE

And I am certain that You are the Most Merciful in regard with forgiveness and mercy.

وَاَشَدُّ الْمُعَاقِبِيْنَ فِى مَوْضِعِ النَّكَالِ وَالنَّقِمَةِ

WA ASHADDUL MO-A’AQEBEENA FEE MAW-ZE-I’N NAKAALE WAN-NAQEMATE

And the most severe in regard with exemplary punishment and chastisement to wrong doers.

وَاَعْظَمُ الْمُتَجَبِّرِيْنَ فِىْ مَوْضِعِ الْكِبْرِيَآءِ وَالْعَظَمَةِ

WA A-A’ZAMUL MOTAJABBEREENA FEE MAW-ZE-I’L KIBREYAA-E WAL-A’ZAMATE.

And the Omnipotent in the domain of absolute power and might.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَذِنْتَ لِىْ فِىْ دُعَائِكَ وَمَسْئَلَتِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA AZINTA LEE FEE DO-A’A-EKA WA MAS-ALATEKA

O Allah, You have permitted me to invoke Thee and beg Thee,

فَاسْمَعْ يَا سَمِيْعُ مِدْحَتِىْ

FASMA’ YAA SAMEE-O’ MIDHATEE

then do listen my praise, O the Hearer,

وَاَجِبْ يَا رَحِيْمُ دَعْوَتِىْ

WA AJIB YAA RAHEEMO DA’WATEE

and answer my prayer, O Merciful.

وَاَقِلْ يَا غَفُوْرُ عَثْرَتِىْ

WA AQIL YAA GHAFOORO A’SRATEE

And reduce my lapses, O the All Forgiving.

فَكَمْ يَا اِلٰهِىْ مِنْ كُرْبَةٍ قَدْ فَرَّجْتَهَا

FA-KAM YAA ELAAHEE MIN KURBATIN QAD FARRAJTAHAA

O Allah! There are so many trouble which You have removed,

وَهُمُوْمٍ قَدْ كَشَفْتَهَا

WA HOMOOMIN QAD KASHAFTAHAA

and sorrows which You have dispelled,

وَعَثْرَةٍ قَدْ اَقَلْتَهَا

WA A’SRATIN QAD AQALTAHAA

and mistakes that You have reduced,

وَرَحْمَةٍ قَدْ نَشَرْتَهَا

WA RAHMATIN QAD NASHARTAHAA

and mercy that You have spread,

وَحَلْقَةِ بَلَآءٍ قَدْ فَكَكْتَهَا

WA HALQATE BALAA-IN QAD FAKAKTAHAA

and circles of calamities which You have cleared.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَّلَا وَلَدًا

ALHAMDO LIL-LLAAHIL LAZEE LAM YATTAKHIZ SAAHEBATAN WA LAA WALADAN

All Praise be to Allah (alone) who did not take a mate nor a son

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهٗ شَرِيْكٌ فِى الْمُلْكِ

WA LAM YAKUN LAHU SHAREEKUN FIL MULKE

Who has no partner in His Kingdom,

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهٗ وَلِىٌّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيْرًا

WA LAM YAKUN LAHU WALIYYUN MENAZ ZULLE WA KABBIRHO TAKBEERAN

nor does He have master in dependence, Then Magnify Him as He should be magnified.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ بِجَمِيْعِ مَحَامِدِهٖ كُلِّهَا

ALHAMDO LILLAAHE BE-JAMEE-E’ MAHAAMEDEHI KULLEHAA

All Praise is for Allah with All Praises

عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ نِعَمِهٖ كُلِّهَا

A’LAA JAMEE-E’ NE-A’MEHI KULLEHAA

for all His bounties.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ لَا مُضَّآدَّ لَهٗ فِىْ مُلْكِهٖ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE LAA MOZAAD-DA LAHU FEE MULKEHI

All Praise is for Allah who does not have any opposition in His Kingdom

وَلَا مُنَازِعَ لَهٗ فِىْ اَمْرِهٖ

WA LAA MONAA-ZE-A’ LAHU FEE AMREHI

nor any dispute in His commands.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ فِىْ خَلْقِهٖ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE LAA SHAREEKA LAHU FEE KHALQEHI

All Praise is for Allah who does not have a partner in His creation

وَلَا شَبِيْهَ لَهٗ فِىْ عَظَمَتِهٖ

WA LAA SHA-BEHA LAHU FEE A’ZAMATEHI

nor is there anything similar unto Him in His greatness.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الْفَاشِىْ فِى الْخَلْقِ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL FAASHEE FIL KHALQE

All Praise is for Allah the evident in His command

اَمْرُهٗ وَحَمْدُهٗ الظَّاهِرِ بِالْكَرَمِ مَجْدُهٗ الْبَاسِطِ بِالْجُوْدِ

AMROHU WA HAMDOHUZ ZAAHERE BIL-KARAME MAJDOHUL BAASETE BIL-JOODE

and His praise is apparent, His glory is through Honour,

يَدَهُ الَّذِىْ لَا تَنْقُصُ خَزَآئِنُهٗ

YADAHUL LAZEE LAA TANQOSO KHAZAA-ENOHU

His hands open with generosity, which does not decreases His treasure

وَلَا تَزِيْدُهٗ كَثْرَةُ الْعَطَآءِ اِلَّا جُوْدًا وَكَرَمًا

WA LAA TAZEEDOHU KASRATUL A’TAA-E ILLAA JOODAN WA KARAMAN

and His excess bestowals does not increases anything except with generosity and honour,

اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْوَهَّابُ

INNAHU HOWAL A’ZEEZUL WAHHAABO.

Surely He is the Mighty, the excessive Provider.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَسْئَلُكَ قَلِيْلًا مِنْ كَثِيْرٍ

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALOKA QALEELAN MIN KASEERIN

O Allah I ask You some of my many needs

مَعَ حَاجَةٍ بِىْ اِلَيْهِ عَظِيْمَةٍ

MA-A’ HAAJATIN BEE ELAYHE A’ZEEMATIN

upon which I greatly depend

وَغِنَاكَ عَنْهُ قَدِيْمٌ

WA GHENAAKA A’NHO QADEEMUN

while You are needless of them since eternity,

وَهُوَ عِنْدِىْ كَثِيْرٌ

WA HOWA I’NDEE KASEERUN

they are a lot for me,

وَهُوَ عَلَيْكَ سَهْلٌ يَسِيْرٌ

WA HOWA A’LAYKA SAHLUN YASEERUN.

but for You it is very easy and simple.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ عَفْوَكَ عَنْ ذَنْبِىْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNA A’FWAKA A’N ZAMBEE

O Allah, surely Your forgiveness of my sins,

وَتَجَاوُزَكَ عَنْ خَطِيْئَتِىْ

WA TAJAA-WAZAKA A’N KHATEE-ATEE

Your overlooking of my mistakes,

وَصَفْحَكَ عَنْ ظُلْمِىْ

WA SAFHAKA A’N ZULMEE

Your forgiveness of my injustices (unto me)

وَسِتْرَكَ عَلٰى قَبِيْحِ عَمَلِىْ

WA SITRAKA A’N QABEEHE A’MALEE

Your concealment of my evil deeds,

وَحِلْمَكَ عَنْ كَثِيْرِ جُرْمِىْ

WA HILMAKA A’N KASEERE JURMEE

Your forbearance on the extremity of my crimes which were committed

عِنْدَ مَا كَانَ مِنْ خَطَئِیْ وَعَمْدِىْ

I’NDA MAA KAANA MIN KHA-TA-EE WA A’MADEE

either due to negligence or wilfuly.

اَطْمَعَنِىْ فِىْ اَنْ اَسْئَلُكَ مَا لَا اَسْتَوْجِبُهٗ مِنْكَ

AT-MA-A’NEE FEE AN AS-ALAKA MAA LAA ASTAWJEBOHU MINKAL

Provide me hope to ask from You of that which I am not worthy of.

الَّذِىْ رَزَقْتَنِىْ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ

LAZEE RAZAQTANEE MIN RAHMATEKA

You have sustained me due to Your mercy

وَاَرَيْتَنِىْ مِنْ قُدْرَتِكَ

WA ARAYTANEE MIN QUDRATEKA

And shown me of Your Power

وَعَرَّفْتَنِيْ مِنْ اِجَابَتِكَ

WA A’RRAFTANEE MIN EJAABATEKA

and introduced me by Your response (to my prayers).

فَصِرْتُ اَدْعُوْكَ اٰمِنًا

FA-SIRTO AD-O’OKA AAMENAN

Then I have come calling You, believing in You,

وَاَسْئَلُكَ مُسْتَانِسًا لَا خَائِفًا وَلَا وَجِلًا

WA AS-ALOKA MUSTAA-NESAN LAA KHAA-EFAN WA LAA WAJELAN

and I ask You as a close acquaintance, neither fearful nor afraid,

مُدِلًا عَلَيْكَ فِيْمَا قَصَدْتُ فِيْهِ اِلَيْكَ

MODILLAN A’LAYKA FEEMAA QASADTO FEEHE ELAYKA

having faith upon You whenever I turn to You concerning it.

فَاِنْ اَبْطَا عَنِّىْ عَتَبْتُ بِجَهْلِىْ عَلَيْكَ

FA-IN AB-TA-A A’NNEE A’TABTO BE-JAHLEE A’LAYKA

I blame my ignorance about You for this delay.

وَلَعَلَّ الَّذِىْ اَبْطَا عَنِّىْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لِىْ

WA LA-A’LLAL LAZEE AB-TA-A A’NNEE HOWA KHAYRUN LEE

And perhaps whatever is delayed in my matter is better for me,

لِعِلْمِكَ بِعَاقِبَةِ الْاُمُوْرِ

LE-I’LMEKA BE-A’AQEBATIL OMOORE

for You know about the consequences of the affairs.

فَلَمْ اَرَ مَوْلًى كَرِيْمًا

FALAM ARA MAWLAN KAREEMAN

Then I did not see an Honourable Master

اَصْبَرَ عَلٰى عَبْدٍ لَئِيْمٍ مِنْكَ عَلَىَّ

ASBARA A’LAA A’BDIN LA-EEMIN MINKA A’LAYYA

more patient to His disgraceful servant than You are to me.

يَا رَبِّ اِنَّكَ تَدْعُوْنِىْ فَاُوَلِّىْ عَنْكَ

YAA RABBE INNA TAD-O’ONEE FA-OWALLEE A’NKA

O Lord! You call me but I turn away from You,

وَتَتَحَبَّبُ اِلَىَّ فَاَتَبَغَّضُ اِلَيْكَ

WA TATAHABBABO ELAYYA FA-ATABAGH-GHAZO ELAYKA

You care to love me but I am bent upon hating You.

وَتَتَوَدَّدُ اِلَىَّ فَلَا اَقْبَلُ مِنْكَ

WA TA-TA-WADDADO ELAYYA FALAA AQBALO MINKA

You want to show Your affections for me but I do not accept it from You

كَاَنَّ لِىَ التَّطَوُّلَ عَلَيْكَ

KA-ANNA LEYAT TATAWWOLA A’LAYKA

as if I am obliging You.

فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ ذٰلِكَ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ لِىْ

FALAM YAMNA’KA ZAALEKA MENAR RAHMATE LEE

But this should not prevent You from bestowing (Your) mercy,

وَالْاِحْسَانِ اِلَىَّ وَالتَّفَضُّلِ عَلَىَّ بِجُوْدِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ

WAL EHSAANE ELAYYA WAT TAFAZZOLE A’LAYYA BEJOODEKA WA KARAMEKA

goodness, and grace upon me for the sake of Your generosity and Your Honour.

فَارْحَمْ عَبْدَكَ الْجَاهِلَ

FAR-HAM A’BDAKAL JAAHELA

Then have mercy on Your ignorant servant

وَجُدْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَضْلِ اِحْسَانِكَ

WA JUD A’LAYHE BE-FAZLE EHSAANEKA

and be generous to him with Your graceful obligations.

اِنَّكَ جَوَادٌ كَرِيْمٌ

INNAKA JAWAADUN KAREEMUN.

Certainly You are Generous, Honourable.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ

AL-HAMDO LILLAAHE MAALEKIL MULKE

All Praise is for Allah, the Owner of the Kingdom,

مُجْرِىْ الْفُلْكِ مُسَخِّرِ الرِّيَاحِ

MUJRIL FULKE MOSAKH-KHERIR REYAAHE

Regulator of skies, Controller of the winds,

فَالِقِ الْاِصْبَاحِ دَيَّانِ الدِّيْنِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

FAALEQIL ISBAAHE DAYYAANID DEENE RABBIL A’ALAMEENA.

Breaker of dawn, administrator of the authority, Lord of the Universe.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ عَلٰى حِلْمِهٖ بَعْدَ عِلْمِهٖ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHE A’LAA HILMEHI BA’DA I’LMEHI

All Praise is for Allah due to His forbearance after His Knowledge

وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ عَلٰى عَفْوِهٖ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِهٖ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHE A’LAA A’FWEHI BA’DA QUDRATEHI

and All Praise is for Allah on account of His forgiveness after His Power.

وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ عَلٰى طُوْلِ اَنَاتِهٖ فِىْ غَضَبِهٖ

WAL HAMDO LILLAAHE A’LAA TOOLE ANAATEHI FEE GHAZABEHI

All Praise is for Allah due to the length of His respite in His anger

وَهُوَ قَادِرٌ عَلٰى مَا يُرِيْدُ

WA HOWA QAADERUN A’LAA MAA YOREEDO.

while He is having power on what He wills.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ خَالِقِ الْخَلْقِ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHE KHAALEQIL KHALQE

All Praise is for Allah, the Creator of the creatures,

بَاسِطِ الرِّزْقِ فَالِقِ الْاِصْبَاحِ

BAASETIR RIZQE FAALEQIL ISBAAHE

Spreader of the sustenance, Breaker of dawn,

ذِى الْجَلاَلِ وَالْاِكْرَامِ وَالْفَضْلِ وَالْاِنْعَامِ

ZIL JALAALE WAL IKRAAME WAL FAZLE WAL IN-A’AMIL

the Owner of the majesty and Honour, favours and bounties,

الَّذِىْ بَعُدَ فَلَا يُرٰى

LAZEE BA-O’DA FALAA YORAA

One who, when far, is not seen,

وَقَرُبَ فَشَهِدَ النَّجْوىٰ

WA QAROBA FA-SHA-HEDAN NAJWAA

and when near, then witnesses the whispers,

تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالٰى

TABAARAKA WA TA-A’ALAA.

the Blessed, the High.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ لَيْسَ لَهٗ مُنَازِعٌ يُعَادِلُهٗ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE LAYSA LAHU MONAA-ZE-U’N YO-A’ADELOHU

All Praise is for Allah for whom there is no dispute who can equal Him

وَلَا شَبِيْهٌ يُشٰاكِلُهٗ وَلَا ظَهِيْرٌ يُعٰاضِدُهٗ

WA LAA SHA-BEEHUN YOSHAAKELOHU WA LAA ZAHEERUN YO-A’AZEDOHU

nor any resemblance who can be similar to Him, nor any helper to assist Him,

قَهَرَ بِعِزَّتِهِ الْاَعِزَّآءَ

QAHARA BE-I’ZZATEHIL A-I’ZZAA-A

He subdues the powerful ones

وَتَوَاضَعَ لِعَظَمَتِهِ الْعُظَمَآءُ

WA TAWAA-ZA-A’ LE-A’ZAMATEHIL O’ZAMAA-O

while the great ones are humble before His Greatness.

فَبَلَغَ بِقُدْرَتِهٖ مَا يَشَآءُ

FA-BALAGHA BE-QUDRATEHI MAA YASHAA-O.

So He raises up by His power whatever He wishes.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ يُجِيْبُنِىْ حِيْنَ اُنَادِيْهِ

AL-HAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE YOJEEBONEE HEENA ONAADEEHE

All Praise is for Allah who answers when I call Him,

وَيَسْتُرُ عَلَىَّ كُلَّ عَوْرَةٍ وَاَنَا اَعْصِيْهِ

WA YASTORO A’LAYYA KULLA A’WRATIN WA ANAA A-A’SEEHE

covers up all my defects while I disobey Him,

وَيُعَظِّمُ النِّعْمَةَ عَلَىَّ فَلَا اُجَازِيْهِ

WA YO-A’ZZEMUN NE’MATA A’LAYYA FALAA OJAA-ZEEHE

confers great bounties upon me but I do not give Him anything in return.

فَكَمْ مِنْ مَوْهِبَةٍ هَنِيْئَةٍ قَدْ اَعْطَانِىْ

FAKAM MIN MAWHEBATIN HANEE-ATIN QAD A-A’TAANEE

Then how many nice favours He has granted on me,

وَعَظِيْمَةٍ مَخُوْفَةٍ قَدْ كَفَانِىْ

WA A’ZEEMATIN MAKHOOFATIN QAD KAFAANEE

and great dangers from which He has saved me,

وَبَهْجَةٍ مُوْنِقَةٍ قَدْ اَرَانِىْ

WA BAHJATIN MOONEQATIN QAD ARAANEE

and happy joys which He has availed to me,

فَاُثْنِىْ عَلَيْهِ حَامِدًا وَاَذْكُرُهٗ مُسَبِّحًا

FA-USNEE A’LAYHE HAAMEDAN WA AZKOROHU MOSABBEHAN.

then I praised Him as He should be praised and I remember Him as He should be glorified.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ لَا يُهْتَكُ حِجَابُهٗ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE LAA YOHTAKO HEJAABOHU

All Praise is for Allah whose veil cannot be torn,

وَلَا يُغْلَقُ بَابُهٗ وَلَا يُرَدُّ سَآئِلُهٗ

WA LAA YUGHLAQO BAABOHU WA LAA YORADDO SAA-ELOHU

nor His door locked nor the one who begs from Him be neglected

وَلَا يُخَيَّبُ اٰمِلُهٗ

WA LAA YOKHAYYABO AAMELOHU.

nor the one who hopes from Him despaired.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ يُؤْمِنُ الْخَائِفِيْنَ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE YOA-MENUL KHAA-EFEENA

All praise is for Allah who protects the fearful ones

وَيُنَجِّى الصَّالِحِيْنَ

WA YONAJJIS SAALEHEENA

and saves the righteous,

وَيَرْفَعُ الْمُسْتَضْعَفِيْنَ

WA YAR-FA-U’L MUSTAZ-A’FEENA

raises the oppressed,

وَيَضَعُ الْمُسْتَكْبِرِيْنَ

WA YAZA-U’L MUSTAKBEREENA

degrades the prouds,

وَيُهْلِكُ مُلُوْكًا وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ اٰخَرِيْنَ

YOHLEKO MOLOOKAN WA YASTAKHLEFO AAKHAREENA

destroys the Kings and appoints other (in their place).

وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ قَاصِمِ الْجَبَّارِيْنَ مُبِيْرِ الظّٰالِمِيْنَ

WAL HAMDO LILLAAHE QAASEMIL JABBAAREENA MOBEERIZ ZAALEMEENA

All Prase is for Allah, the Breaker of the tyrants, the Destroyer of oppressors,

مُدْرِكِ الْهَارِبِيْنَ نَكَالِ الظَّالِمِيْنَ

MUDREKIL HAAREBEENA NAKAALIZ ZAALEMEENA

the Observer of fugitives, Chastiser of the unjust,

صَرِيْخِ الْمُسْتَصْرِخِيْنَ

SAREEKHIL MUSTASREKHEENA

the Helper of the crying ones,

مَوْضِعِ حَاجَاتِ الطَّالِبِيْنَ

MAW-ZE-A’ HAAJAATIT TAALEBEENA

the Centre of the demands of beseechers,

مُعْتَمَدِ الْمُوْمِنِيْنَ

MO’TAMADIL MOA-MENEENA.

the Confidence of the believers.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ مِنْ خَشْيَتِهٖ تَرْعَدُ السَّمَآءُ وَسُكَّانُهَا

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE MIN KHASYATEHI TAR-A’DUS SAMAA-O WA SUKKAANOHAA

All Praise is for Allah with Whose fear the heavens and its inhabitants shiver

وَتَرْجُفُ الْاَرضُ وَعُمَّارُهَا

WA TARJOFUL ARZO WA U’MMAAROHAA

and the earth and its dwellers tremble,

وَتَمُوْجُ الْبِحَارُ وَمَنْ يَسْبَحُ فِىْ غَمَرَاتِهَا

WA TAMOOJUL BEHAARO WA MAN YASBAHO FEE GHAMARAATEHAA.

the oceans and whatever float in its depths overflows (with awe).

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ هَدَانَا لِهٰذَا

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE HADAANAA LE-HAAZAA

All Praise is for Allah Who guided us to this (path).

وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِىَ لَوْلَا اَنْ هَدَانَا اللهُ

WA MAA KUNNA LE-NAHTADEYA LAW LAA AN HADAANAL LAAHO.

And we could not have been guided had Allah not guided us.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِى يَخْلُقُ وَلَمْ يُخْلَقُ

ALHAMDO LILLAAHIL LAZEE YAKHLOQO WA LAM YUKHLAQ

All Praise is for Allah, the One Who creates but is not created,

وَيَرْزُقُ وَلَا يُرْزَقُ وَيُطْعِمُ وَلَا يُطْعَمُ

WA YARZOQO WA LAA YURZAQO WA YUT-E’MO WA LAA YUT-A’MO

He sustains but is not sustained, He feeds but is not fed,

وَيُمِيْتُ الْاَحْيَآءَ وَيُحْيِىْ الْمَوْتٰى وَهُوَ حَىٌّ لَا يَمُوْتُ

WA YOMEETUL AHYAAHO WA YOHYIL MAWTAA WA HOWA HAYYUN LAA YAMOOTO

He causes death to the living and gives life to the dead. He is the Living Who shall never die.

بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

BE-YADEHIL KHAYRO WA HOWA A’LAA KULLE SHAY-IN QADEERUN.

In His hands is all the goodness, and He has Power over all things.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN

O Allah send Your blessings on Mohammad

عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُوْلِكَ وَاَمِيْنِكَ وَصَفِيِّكَ

A’BDEKA WA RASOOLEKA WA AMEENEKA WA SAFIYYEKA

Your servant, Your messenger, Your trustworthy and Your selected,

وَحَبِيْبِكَ وَخِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

WA HABEEBEKA WA KHEYARATEKA MIN KHALQEKA

Your beloved, Your chosen one from Your creatures,

وَحَافِظِ سِرِّكَ وَمُبَلِّغِ رِسَالاَتِكَ

WA HAAFEZE SIRREKA WA MOBALLEGHE RESAALAATEKA

the protector of Your secrets, the conveyor of Your message,

اَفْضَلَ وَاَحْسَنَ وَاَجْمَلَ وَاَكْمَلَ وَاَزْكٰى وَاَنْمٰى

AFZALA WA AHSANA WA AJMALA WA AKMALA WA AZKAA WA ANMAA

the most superior, the best, the most handsome, the most perfect, the most purified, the evergrowing,

وَاَطْيَبَ وَاَطْهَرَ وَاَسْنٰى وَاَكْثَرَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ وَبَارَكْتَ وَتَرَحَّمْتَ

WA ATYABA WA ATHARA WA ASNAA WA AKSARA MAA SALLAYTA WA BAARAKTA WA TARAH-HAMTA

the most sublime, the most purified, the noblest and the maximum of blessing the like of which You have not blessed,

وَتَحَنَّنْتَ وَسَلَّمْتَ عَلٰى اَحَدٍ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ

WA TAHANNANTA WA SALLAMTA A’LAA AHADIN MIN E’BAADEKA

You blessed, had mercy, affections, salutations, on anyone from Your servants,

وَاَنْبِيَآئِكَ وَرُسُلِكَ وَصِفْوَتِكَ

WA AMBEYAA-EKA WA ROSOLEKA WA SIFWATEKA

Your prophets, Your messengers, Your chosen ones

وَاَهْلِ الْكَرَامَةِ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

WA AHLIL KARAAMATE A’LAYKA MIN KHALQEKA.

and the honoured ones from among Your creatures.

اَللّٰهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلٰى اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

ALLAAHUMMA WA SALLE A’LAA A’LIYYIN AMEERIL MOA-MENEENA

O Allah send blessings upon Ali, the Chief of the faithfuls,

وَوَصِىِّ رَسُوْلِ رَبِّ الْعٰالَمِيْنَ

WA WASIYYE RASOOLE RABBIL A’ALAMEENA

the successor to the Messenger of the Lord of the universe,

عَبْدِكَ وَوَلِيِّكَ وَاَخِى رَسُوْلِكَ وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلٰى خَلْقِكَ

A’BDEKA WA WALIYYEKA WA AKHEE RASOOLEKA WA HUJJATEKA A’LAA KHALQEKA

Your servant, Your beloved representative, brother of Your Messenger and Your Proof upon Your creatures.

وَاٰيَتِكَ الْكُبْرٰى وَالنَّبَاِ الْعَظِيْمِ

WA AAYATEKAL KUBRAA WAN-NABA-IL A’ZEEME

Your greatest sign, Your important news.

وَصَلِّ عَلَى الصِّدِّيْقَةِ الطَّاهِرَةِ فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَآءِ الْعٰالَمِيْنَ

WA SALLE A’LAS SIDDEEQATIT TAAHERATE FAATEMATA SAYYEDATE NESAA-IL A’ALAMEENA

And (O Allah) send blessings upon the truthful, the pure Fatemah, the leader of the women of the universe,

وَصَلِّ عَلٰى سِبْطَىِ الرَّحْمَةِ وَاِمَامَىِ الْهُدٰى اَلْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ

WA SALLE A’LAA SIBTAYIR RAHMATE WA EMAAMAYIL HODAL HASANE WAL HUSAYNE

and (O Allah) send blessing upon the two grandsons of the mercy, and the two Imams of guidance, Hasan and Husain,

سَيِّدَىْ شَبَابِ اَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ

SAYYEDAY SHABAABE AHLIL JANNATE

the two leaders of the Youths of the Paradise

وَصَلِّ عَلٰى اَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ عَلِىِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ

WA SALLE A’LAA A-IMMATIL MUSLEMEENA A’LIYYIB NIL HUSAYNE

and (O Allah) send blessings upon the Imams of Muslims, Ali the son of Husain,

وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِىٍّ وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

WA MOHAMMAD IBNE A’LIYYIN WA JA’FAR IBNE MOHAMMADIN

Mohammad, the son of Ali, Ja’far, the son of Mohammad;

وَمُوْسٰى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ وَعَلِىِّ بْنِ مُوْسٰى

WA MOOSABNE JA’FARIN WA A’LIYY IBNE MOOSAA

Moosa, the son of Jafar; Ali, the son of Moosa;

وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِىٍّ وعَلِىِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

WA MOHAMMAD IBNE A’LIYYIN WA A’LIYY IBNE MOHAMMADIN

Mohammad, the son of Ali; Ali, the son of Mohammad;

وَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِىٍّ وَالْخَلَفِ الْهَادِى الْمَهْدِىِّ

WAL HASAN IBNE A’LIYYIN WAL KHALAFIL HAADIL MAHDIYYE

Hasan, the son of Ali; and the successor, the Guide, Mahdi

حُجَجِكَ عَلٰى عِبَادِكَ وَاُمَنَآئِكَ فِىْ بِلاَدِكَ

HOJAJEKA A’LAA E’BAADEKA WA OMANAA-EKA FEE BELAADEKA

Your Proof upon Your servants and Your trustworthy one in Your cities.

صَلٰوةً كَثِيْرَةً دَآئِمَةً

SALAATAN KASEERATAN DAA-EMATAN.

Blessings, Abundant and permanent.

اَللّٰهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلٰى وَلِىِّ اَمْرِكَ الْقَآئِمِ الْمُؤَمَّلِ

ALLAAHUMMA WA SALLE A’LAA WALIYYE AMREKAL QAA-EMIL MO-AMMALE

O Allah and send blessings upon the master of Your command, the Qaem (Upright), the expected one

وَالْعَدْلِ الْمُنْتَظَرِ وَحُفَّهٗ بِمَلَآئِكَتِكَ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ

WAL-A’DLIL MUNTAZARE WA HUFFAHU BE-MALAA-EKATEKAL MOQARRABEENA

and the awaited justice, surround him with Your prominent Angels

وَاَيِّدْهُ بِرُوْحِ الْقُدُسِ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

WA AYYIDHO BE-ROOHIL QODOSE YAA RABBAL A’ALAMEENA.

and support him with ‘Ruh al-Qudus’ (the Holy Spirit), O Lord of the universe

اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ الدَّاعِىَ اِلٰى كِتَابِكَ

ALLAAHUMMAJ A’LHUD DAA-EYA ELAA KETAABEKA

O Allah make him the caller to Your Book

وَالْقَآئِمَ بِدِيْنِكَ

WAL QAA-EMA BE-DEENEKA

and the Qaem (upright one) with Your religion,

اسْتَخْلِفْهُ فِى الْاَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفْتَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهٖ

ISTAKHLIFHO FIL ARZE KAMAS TAKHLAFTAL LAZEENA MIN QABLEHI

appoint him in the earth, as You appointed Those before him.

مَكِّنْ لَهٗ دِيْنَهُ الَّذِىْ ارْتَضَيْتَهٗ لَهٗ

MAKKIN LAHU DEENAHUL LAZEER TAZAYTAHU LAHU

Grant authority for him concerning his religion which You have chosen for him.

اَبْدِلْهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهٖ اَمْنًا

ABDILHO MIN BA’DE KHAWFEHI AMNAN

Convert his fear into security

يَعْبُدُكَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِكَ شَيْئًا

YA’BODOKA LAA YUSHREKO BEKA SHAY-AN.

as He worships only You and does not associate anyone with You,

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعِزَّهُ وَاَعْزِزْ بِهٖ وَانْصُرْهُ وانْتَصِرْ بِهٖ

ALLAAHUMMA A-I’ZZAHU WA A-A’ZIZ BEHI WAN SURHO WAN TASIR BEHI

O Allah strengthen him and strengthen (the believer) through him.

وَانْصُرْهُ نَصْرًا عَزِيْزًا وَافْتَحْ لَهٗ فَتْحًا يَسِيْرًا

WAN SURHO NASRAN A’ZEEZAN WAF TAH LAHU FATHAN YASEERAN

Help him and help the believer through him, and help him a mighty helping and grant him an easy victory.

وَاجْعَلْ لَهٗ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطَانًا نَصِيْرًا

WAJ A’L LAHU MIN LADUNKA SULTAANAN NASEERAN.

And make him from Your side the helped authority.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَظْهِرْ بِهٖ دِيْنَكَ وَسُنَّتَ نَبِيِّكَ

ALLAAHUMMA AZHIR BEHI DEENAKA WA SUNNATA NABIYYEKA

O Allah! Merit Your religion and the tradition of Your Prophet through him

حَتّٰى لَا يَسْتَخْفِىَ بِشَىْءٍ مِنَ الْحَقِّ مَخَافَةَ اَحَدٍ مِنَ الْخَلْقِ

HATTAA LAA YASTAKHFEYA BE-SHAY-IN MENAL HAQQE MAKHAAFATA AHADIN MENAL KHALQE.

till, nothing is hidden from the Truth due to fear of the creatures

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّا نَرْغَبُ اِلَيْكَ فِى دَوْلَةٍ كَرِيْمَةٍ

ALLAAHUMMA INNAA NARGHABO ELAYKA FEE DAWLATIN KAREEMATIN

O Allah! We desire from You a noble Government

تُعِزُّ بِهَا الْاِسْلاَمَ وَاَهْلَهٗ وَتُذِلُّ بِهَا النِّفَاقَ وَاَهْلَهٗ

TO-I’ZZO BEHAL ISLAAMA WA AHLAHU WA TOZILLO BEHAN NEFAA-QA WA AHLAHU

through which You help Islam and its followers and degrade hypocrisy and its followers

وَتَجْعَلُنَا فِيْهَا مِنَ الدُّعَاةِ اِلٰى طَاعَتِكَ

WA TAJ-A’LONAA FEEHAA MENAD DO-A’ATE ELAA TAA-A’TEKA

and make us in (the government) among the callers to Your obedience

وَالْقَادَةِ اِلٰى سَبِيْلِكَ وَتَرْزُقُنَا بِهَا كَرَامَةَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ

WAL QAADATE ELAA SABEELEKA WA TARZOQONAA BEHAA KARAAMATAD DUNYAA WAL AAKHERATE.

and guides to Your path and through it grant us the honour of this world and hereafter.

اَللّٰهُمَّ مَا عَرَّفْتَنَا مِنَ الْحَقِّ فَحَمِّلْنَاهُ

ALLAAHUMMA MAA A’RRAFTANAA MENAL HAQQE FAHAMMILNAAHO

O Allah whatever You have introduced to us from the truth then make us bear it

وَمَا قَصُرْنَا عَنْهُ فَبَلِّغْنَاهُ

WA MAA QASURNAA A’NHO FA-BALLIGHNAAHO.

and reach unto us what we have fallen short of (performing)

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْمُمْ بِهٖ شَعْثَنَا

ALLAAHUMMAL MUM BEHI SHA’SANAA

O Allah! Through him, congregate our dispersed ones,

وَاشْعَبْ بِهٖ صَدْعَنَا

WASH-A’B BEHI SAD-A’NAA

and collect our scattered ones,

وَارْتُقْ بِهٖ فَتْقَنَا وَكَثِّرْ بِهٖ قِلَّتَنَا

WAR-TUQ BEHI FATQANAA WA KASSIR BEHI QILLATANAA

and unite our disunited ones. Increase our scantiness through him,

وَاَعْزِزْ بِهٖ ذِلَّتَنَا وَاَغْنِ بِهٖ عَائِلَنَا

WA A-A’ZIZ BEHI ZILLATANAA WA AGHNE BEHI A’A-ELANAA

grant respect to our disgraced ones through him. Make our poor rich through him.

وَاقْضِ بِهٖ عَنْ مُغْرَمِنَا

WAQ ZE BEHI A’N MUGHRAMENAA

And pay our debts through him.

وَاجْبُرْ بِهٖ فَقْرَنَا وَسُدَّ بِهٖ خَلَّتَنَا

WAJ BUR BEHI FAQRANAA WA SUDDA BEHI KHALLATANAA

Remove our poverty through him. Dispel our adversities through him.

وَيَسِّرْ بِهٖ عُسْرَنَا وَبَيِّضْ بِهٖ وُجُوْهَنَا

WA YASSIR BEHI U’SRANAA WA BAYYIZ BEHI WOJOOHANAA

Make our difficulties easy through him. Brighten our faces through him.

وَفُكَّ بِهٖ اَسْرَنَا وَاَنْجِحْ بِهٖ طَلِبَتَنَا

WA FUKKA BEHI ASRANAA WA ANJEH BEHI TALEBATANAA

Make us free from our prison through him.

وَانْجِزْ بِهٖ مَوَاعِيْدَنَا

WA ANJIZ BEHI MAWAA-E’EDANAA

Complete our demands through him.

وَاسْتَجِبْ بِهٖ دَعْوَتَنَا

WAS TAJIB BEHI DA’WATANAA

Fulfill our promises through him.

وَاَعْطِنَا بِهٖ سُؤْلَنَا

WA A-A’TENAA BEHI SO’LANAA

Answer our prayers through him.

وَبَلِّغْنَا بِهٖ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ آمَالَنَا

WA BALLIGHNAA BEHI MENAD DUNYAA WAL AAKHERATE AAMAALANAA

Grant our requests through him and fulfill our hopes of this world and hereafter through him.

وَاَعْطِنَا بِهٖ فَوْقَ رَغْبَتِنَا

WA A-A’TENAA BEHI FAWQA RAGHBATENAA

And provide us more than our expectations.

يَا خَيْرَ الْمَسْئُوْلِيْنَ

YAA KHAYRAL MAS-OOLEENA

O the Best of the asked one

وَاَوْسَعَ الْمُعْطِيْنَ اشْفِ بِهٖ صُدُوْرَنَا

WA AWSA-A’L MO’TEENA ISHFE BEHI SODOORANAA

and the Largest of Provider. Cure our hearts through him

وَاَذْهِبْ بِهٖ غَيْظَ قُلُوْبِنَا

WA AZHIB BEHI GHAYZA QOLOOBENAA

and remove the anger of our hearts through him.

وَاهْدِنَا بِهٖ لِمَا اخْتُلِفَ فِيْهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِاِذْنِكَ

WAH DENAA BEHI LEMAKH TOLEFA FEEHE MENAL HAQQE BE-IZNEKA

And guide us in dispute concerning the truth through him with Your permission.

اِنَّكَ تَهْدِىْ مَنْ تَشَآءُ اِلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيْمٍ

INNAKA TAHDEE MAN TASHAA-O ELAA SERAATIL MUSTAQEEME

You guide to whomever You Wish to the right path.

وَانْصُرْنَا بِهٖ عَلٰى عَدُوِّكَ وَعَدُوِّنَا

WAN SURNAA BEHI A’LAA A’DUWWEKA WA A’DUWWENAA

And help us through him against Your enemies and Our enemies,

اِلٰهَ الْحَقِّ اٰمِيْنَ

ELAAHAL HAQQE AAMEENA.

O Lord of Truths, Ameen.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّا نَشْكُوْ اِلَيْكَ

ALLAAHUMMA INNAA NASH-KOO ELAYKA

O Allah, we complain to You,

فَقْدَ نَبِيِّنَا صَلَوٰاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهٖ

FAQDA NABIYYENAA SALAWAATOKA A’LAYHE WA AALEHI

the loss of our prophet, Your blessing be upon him and his progeny

وَغَيْبَةَ وَلِيِّنَا وَكَثْرَةَ عَدُوِّنَا

WA GHAYBATA WALIYYENAA WA KASRATA A’DUWWENAA

and the occultation of our master, the proliferate of our enemies,

وَقِلَّةَ عَدَدِنَا وَشِدَّةَ الْفِتَنِ بِنَا

WA QILLATA A’DADENAA WA SHIDDATAL FETANE BENAA

the scarcity of our numbers, the severity of mischief amongst us,

وَتَظْاهُرَ الزَّمَانِ عَلَيْنَا

WA TAZAAHORAZ ZAMAANE A’LAYNAA

oppositions of the time against us.

فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِهٖ

FA-SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALEHI

Send blessings upon Mohammad and his progeny and help us

وَاَعِنَّا عَلٰى ذٰلِكَ بِفَتْحٍ مِنْكَ تُعَجِّلُهٗ

WA A-I’NNA A’LAA ZAALEKA BE-FATHIN MINKA TO-A’JJELOHU

in all these, with a hastened victory from Your side.

وَبِضُرٍّ تَكْشِفُهٗ وَنَصْرٍ تُعِزُّهٗ

WA BEZURRIN TAK-SHEFOHU WA NASRIN TO-I’ZZOHU

And by the removal of difficulties and a mighty helping,

وَسُلْطَانِ حَقٍّ تُظْهِرُهٗ

WA SULTAANE HAQQIN TUZHEROHU

and a truthful king whom You manifest

وَرَحْمَةٍ مِنْكَ تُجَلِّلُنَاهَا

WA RAHMATIN MINKA TO-JALLELONAAHAA

and mercy from Your side which You make us respect

وَعَافِيَةٍ مِنْكَ تُلْبِسُنَاهَا

WA A’AFEYATIN MINKA TULBESONAAHAA

and cover us with Your safety

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ.

BE-RAHMATEKA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA.

through Your Mercy, O the Most Merciful of mercifuls.
