Dua e Hifz e Imaan (another)

Text and Translation

Imam Muhammad al-Taqi (a) said: after completing an obligatory prayer, say:

رَضِيْتُ بِاللّٰهِ رَبًّا وَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا وَ بِالْاِسْلَامِ دِيْنًا وَ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ كِتَابًا وَ بِفُلَانٍ وَ فُلَانٍ اَئِمَّةً

RADEETU BILLAAHI RABBAW WA BI-MUHAMMADIN NABIYYAW WA BIL ISLAAMI DEENAW WA BIL QUR-AANI KITAABAW WA BI-FULAANIW WA FULAANIN A-IMMAH

I am pleased with Allah as a Lord, with Muhammad as a Prophet, with Islam as a religion, with the Qur'an as a Book, and with so-and-so and so-and-so as Imams,

اَللّٰهُمَّ وَلِيُّكَ فُلَانٌ فَاحْفَظْهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ وَ عَنْ يَمِيْنِهِ وَ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ وَ مِنْ فَوْقِهِ وَ مِنْ تَحْتِهِ

ALLAAHUMMA WALIYYUKA FULAANUN FAHFAZHU MIM BAYNI YADAYHI WA MIN KHALFIHI WA A'N YAMEENIHI WA A'N SHIMAALIHI WA MIN FAWQIHI WA MIN TAHTIHI

O Allah, Your representative is so-and-so; so protect him from before him, from behind him, from his right, from his left, from above him, and from beneath him,

وَامْدُدُ لَهُ فِىْ عُمْرِهِ وَاجْعَلْهُ الْقَاۤئِمَ بِاَمْرِكَ وَالْمُنْتَصِرَ لِدِيْنِكَ

WAMDUD LAHU FEE U'MRIHI WAJ-A'LHUL QAAA-IMA BI-AMRIKA WAL MUNTASIRA LI-DEENIK

and extend his life, and make him the one who rises with Your command and the victor for Your religion,

وَ اَرِهِ مَا يُحِبُّ وَ مَا تَقِرُّ بِهِ عَيْنُهُ فِىْ نَفْسِهِ وَ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ وَ فِىْ اَهْلِهِ وَ مَالِهِ وَ فِىْ شِيْعَتِهِ وَ فِىْ عَدُوِّهِ

WA ARIHI MAA YUHIBBU WA MAA TAQARRU BIHI A'YNUHU FEE NAFSIHI WA ZURRIYYATIHI WA FEE AHLIHI WA MAALIHI WA FEE SHEE-A'TIHI WA FEE A'DUWWIH

and show him what he loves and what delights his eye, in himself, his offspring, his family, his wealth, his followers, and his enemy,

وَ اَرِهِمْ مِنْهُ مَا يَحْذَرُوْنَ وَ اَرِهِ فِيْهِمْ مَّا يُحِبُّ وَ تَقِرُّ بِهِ عَيْنُهُ وَاشْفِ صُدُوْرَنا وَ صُدُوْرَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ

WA ARIHIM MINHU MAA YAHZAROONA WA ARIHI FEEHIM MAA YUHIBBU WA TAQARRU BIHI A'YNUHU WASH-FI SUDOORANAA WA SUDOORA QAWMIM MU'MINEEN

and show them from him what they dread, and show him in them what he loves and what delights his eye; and heal our hearts, and the hearts of a believing people.
