Dua-e-Hifz-e-Eemaan رَضِيْتُ بِاللّٰهِ رَبًّا

Text and Translation

It is also worth mentioning that Shaykh al-Tusi has narrated that Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Daylami said to Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.) “Your adherents say that Faith is of two sections; one is steady and the other depository. So, please teach me a supplication that makes my faith perfect and saves it from removal.” Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.) hence taught him to say the following supplicatory prayer after each obligatory prayer:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate

رَضِيْتُ بِاللّٰهِ رَبًّا

RAZEETO BILLAAHE RABBANW

I am content with Allah as my Lord,

وَّ بِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهِ نَبِيًّا

WA BE-MOHAMMADIN SALLAL LAAHO A'LAYHE WA AALEHI NABIYYAN

and with Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his progeny) as a Prophet,

وَ بِالْاِسْلَامِ دِيْنًا

WA BIL-ISLAAME DEENAN

and with Islam as a religion,

وَ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ كِتَابًا

WA BIL-QUR-AANE KETAABAN

and with the Qur'an as a book,

وَ بِالْكَعْبَةِ قِبْلَةً

WA BIL-KA'BATE QIBLATAN

and with the Ka'bah as the direction (of prayer - Qiblah),

وَ بِعَلِيٍّ وَلِيًّا وَّ اِمَامًا

WA BE-A'LIYYIN WALIYYANW WA EMAAMAN

and with Ali as a Guardian (Wali) and Imam,

وَ بِالْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ

WA BIL-HASANE WAL HUSAYNE

and with al-Hasan, and al-Husayn,

وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ

WA A'LIYYIBNIL HUSAYNE

Ali ibn al-Husain,

وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

WA MOHAMMAD IBNE A'LIYYIN

and Muhammad ibn Ali,

وَ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

WA JA'FAR IBNE MOHAMMADIN

and Ja’far ibn Muhammad,

وَ مُوْسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ

WA MOOSABNE JA'FARIN

and Moosa ibn Ja’far,

وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوْسٰى

WA A'LIYY IBNE MOOSAA

and Ali ibn Moosa,

وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

WA MOHAMMAD IBNE A'LIYYIN

and Muhammad ibn Ali,

وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

WA A'LIYY IBNE MOHAMMADIN

and Ali ibn Muhammad,

وَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

WAL HASAN IBNE A'LIYYIN

and al-Hasan ibn Ali,

وَ الْحُجَّةِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ

WAL HUJJAT IBNIL HASANE

and the Proof [of Allah] the son of al-Hasan,

صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْهِمْ اَئِمَّةً

SALAWAATUL LAAHE A'LAYHIM A-IMMATAN

may the blessings of Allah be upon them, as Imams (Leaders)

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ رَضِيْتُ بِهِمْ اَئِمَّةً

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE RAZEETO BEHIM A-IMMATAN

O Allah, indeed I am content with them as Imams,

فَارْضَنِيْ لَهُمْ

FARZANEE LAHUM

so make me content with them.

اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ قَدِيْرٌ.

INNAKA A'LAA KULLE SHAY-IN QADEERUN.

Surely, You have power over all things.
