Text and Translation

اِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللهُ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ فِيْ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوٰى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى اللَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهٗ حَثِيْثًا وَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُوْمَ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ بِاَمْرِهٖ اَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْاَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ اللهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ

INNA RABBAKUMULLAAHUL LAZEE KHALAQAS SAMAAWAATI WAL ARDA FEE SITTATI AYYAAMIN THUMMAS TAWAA A'LAL A'RSH, YUGHSHIL LAYLAN NAHAARA YATLUBUHU HASEESAN WASH SHAMSA WAL QAMARA WAN NUJOOMA MUSAKHKHARAATIM BI-AMRIH, ALAA LAHUL KHALQU WAL AMR, TABAARAKALLAAHU RABBUL A'AALAMEEN

Verily your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself upon the Throne. He draws the night as a veil over the day, each pursuing the other urgently, and He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, subservient by His command. Verily His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.

اُدْعُوْا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَّ خُفْيَةً اِنَّهٗ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِيْنَ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ بَعْدَ اِصْلَاحِهَا وَادْعُوْهُ خَوْفًا وَّ طَمَعًا اِنَّ رَحْمَتَ اللهِ قَرِيْبٌ مِّنَ الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ

UD-U' RABBAKUM TADARRU-A'W WA KHUFYAH, INNAHU LAA YUHIBBUL MU'TADEEN, WA LAA TUFSIDOO FIL ARDI BA'DA ISLAAHIHAA WAD-U'HU KHAWFAW WA TAMA-A'A, INNA RAHMATALLAAHI QAREEBUM MINAL MUHSINEEN

Call upon your Lord humbly and secretly; verily He does not love the transgressors. And do not spread corruption in the land after it has been set right, and call upon Him in fear and in hope; verily the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.

According to other traditions, the second verse (i.e. "call on your lord") is not included.
