Aamal of Ashoora

Text and Translation

(1) Pray Fajr Salat. After Fajr Salaat carry out the Aamaal Ashoora.

(2) Do not drink water, nor eat food.

(3) Barefoot, bareheaded, attired in black, come out from the shade and shelter of your homes, in the open, under the sky.

(4) Together, disciplined, row after row, reciting moment to moment events that took place in Karbala, move forward, till evening.

(5) Pray Zohr and Asr Salat at their fixed times.

(6) Tears come to our eyes as the dry yellow leaves drop on the ground in autumn. It is an instinctive self-regulation; we weep, mourn and cry; in the height of our love for the Holy Imam some of our scrape and cut ourselves not others, to feel the pain and hurt the martyrs of Karbala suffered on the 10th Muharram in 61 Hijra. In no way there is any hint of self-torture or show-off, as Oways Qaranee broke all his teeth when he heard the news that in the battle of Uhad his “beloved”, the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) had lost of couple of teeth. It is the domain of love and passionate attachment, deep and abiding devotedness like the jump Prophet Ibraheem took into the blazing fire.

(7) Invoke Allah to lay curse upon the killers of Imam Husain, his family and friends:

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْ قَتَلَةَ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ اَوْلاَدِهٖ وَ اَصْحَابِهٖ.

ALLAAHUMMAL A’N QATALATAL HUSAINE WA AWLAADEHI WA ASHAABEHI.

O Allah, curse the killers of al-Husayn, his children, and his companions.

And say:

یَا لَيْتَنِيْ كُنْتُ مَعَكُمْ فَاَفُوْزَ فَوْزًا عَظِيْمًا.

YAA LAYTANI KUNTO MA-A’KUM FA AFOOZA FAWZAN A’ZEEMA.

Would that I had been with you, so that I could achieve a great success.

(8) Comfort and console each other with:

اَعْظَمَ اللهُ اُجُوْرَنَا وَ اُجُوْرَكُمْ بِمُصَابِنَا بِالْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ وَ جَعَلْنَا وَ اِيَّاكُمْ مِنَ الطَّالِبِيْنَ بِثَارِهٖ مَعَ وَلِيِّهِ الْاِمَامِ الْمَهْدِيِّ مِنْ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ.

A-A’ZAMAL LAAHO OJOORANAA WA OJOORAKUM BEMOSAABENAA BIL HUSAINE A’LAYHIS SALAAMO WA JA-A’LANAA WA IYYAAKUM MENAT TAALEBEENA BESAAREHI MA-A’ WALIYYEHIL EMAAMIL MAHDIYYE MIN AALE MOHAMMADIN A’LAYHEMUS SALAAMO.

May Allah make great our rewards and your rewards for our grief over al-Husayn, peace be upon him, and may He place us and you among those who seek his vengeance alongside his representative, the Imam al-Mahdi from the family of Muhammad, peace be upon them.

Today we pray and recite the following Salats, duas and Ziyarat, after Fajr Salaat but before Zohr Salaat.

Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) had advised the faithful to do the following Aamaal today:

The Imam had emphasized that whoso prays as directed (below) shall be entitled to receive the recompense of several Hajj; shall be kept safe from death by drowning burning and building collapse and no enemy can never get an upper hand over him or her.

(1) Pray the following 4 Rakat Salat standing under the sky:

In the first rakat after recitation of Surah al-Fatehah, recite Surah al-Kafiroon.

In the second rakat, after recitation of Surah al-Fatehah, recite Surah al-Ikhlaas.

In the third rakat, after the recitation of Surah al-Fatehah, recite [Surah al-Ah’zaab](A37).

In the fourth rakat, after the recitation of Surah al-Fateha, recite [Surah al-Monafeqoon](A67).

(2) After the Salat

Say 100 times:

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْ قَتَلَةَ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ اَوْلاَدِهٖ وَ اَصْحَابِهٖ.

ALLAAHUMMAL A’N QATALATAL HUSAIN WA AWLAADEHI WA ASHAABEHI.

O Allah, curse the killers of al-Husayn, his children, and his companions.

(3) Take a few steps forward and say:

اِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَ اِنَّا اِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ رِضًا بِقَضَآئِهٖ وَ تَسْلِيْمًا لِاَمْرِهٖ

INNAA LILLAAHE WA INNAA ELAYHE RAAJEO’ON REZAN BEQAZAAAEHI WA TASLEEMAN LE-AMREHI

Indeed we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return; submitting to His decree and resigning to His command.

(4) Then go back to your place where you were standing and recite:

اَللّٰهُمَّ عَذِّبِ الْفَجَرَةَ الَّذِيْنَ شَاقُّوْا رَسُوْلَكَ وَ حَارَبُوْا اَوْلِيَآئَكَ وَ عَبَدُوْا غَيْرَكَ وَ اسْتَحَلُّوْا مَحَارَمَكَ وَ الْعَنِ الْقَادَةَ وَ الْاَتْبَاعَ وَ مَنْ كَانَ مِنْهُمْ فَخَبَّ وَ اَوْضَعَ مَعَهُمْ اَوْرَضِىَ بِفِعْلِهِمْ لَعْنًا كَثِيْرًا اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ عَجِّلْ فَرَجَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاجْعَلْ صَلَوَاتِكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاسْتَنْقِذْهُمْ مِنْ اَيْدِى الْمُنَافِقِيْنَ الْمُضِلِّيْنَ وَ الْكَفَرَةِ الْجَاحِدِيْنَ وَافْتَحْ لَهُمْ فَتْحًا يَّسِيْرًا وَ اَتِحْ لَهُمْ رَوْحًا وَ فَرَجًا قَرِيْبًا وَاجْعَلْ لَهُمْ مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ عَلٰى عَدُوِّكَ وَ عَدُوِّهِمْ سُلْطٰنًا نَّصِيْرًا. اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ كَثِيْرًا مِّنَ الْاُمَّةِ نَاصَبَتِ الْمُسْتَحْفِظِيْنَ مِنَ الْاَئِمَّةِ وَ كَفَرَتْ بِالْكَلِمَةِ وَ عَكَفَتْ عَلَى الْقَادَةِ الظَّلَمَةِ وَ هَجَرَتِ الْكِتَابَ وَ السُّنَّةَ وَ عَدَلَتْ عَنِ الْحَبْلَيْنِ الَّذَيْنِ اَمَرْتَ بِطَاعَتِهِمَا وَ التَّمَسُّكِ بِهِمَا فَاَمَاتَتِ الْحَقَّ وَ حَادَتْ عَنِ الْقَصْدِ وَمَالَأَتِ الْاَحْزَابَ وَ حَرَّفَتِ الْكِتَابَ وَ كَفَرَتْ بِالحَقِّ لَمَّا جَائَهَا وَ تَمَسَّكَتْ بِالْبَاطِلِ لَمَّا اعْتَرَضَهَا وَ ضَيَّعَتْ حَقَّكَ وَ اَضَلَّتْ خَلْقَكَ وَ قَتَلَتْ اَوْلاَدَ نَبِيِّكَ وَخِيَرَةَ عِبَادِكَ وَ حَمَلَةَ عِلْمِكَ وَ وَرَثَةَ حِكْمَتِكَ وَ وَحْيِكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ فَزَلْزِلْ اَقْدَامَ اَعْدَآئِكَ وَ اَعْدَآءِ رَسُوْلِكَ وَ اَهْلِ بَيْتِ رَسُوْلِكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ اَخْرِبْ دِيَارَهُمْ وَافْلُلْ سِلاَحَهُمْ وَ خَالِفْ بَيْنَ كَلِمَتِهِمْ وَفُتَّ فِىْ اَعْضَادِهِمْ وَ اَوْ هِنْ كَيْدَهُمْ وَ اضْرِبْهُمْ بِسَيْفِكَ الْقَاطِعِ وَارْمِهِمْ بِحَجَرِكَ الدَّامِغِ وَ طُمَّهُمْ بِالْبَلَآءِ طَمًّا وَ قُمَّهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ قَمًّا وَ عَذِّبْهُمْ عَذَابًا نُكْرًا وَ خُذْهُمْ بِالسِّنِيْنَ وَ الْمُثَلاَتِ الَّتِىْ اَهْلَكْتَ بِهَا اَعْدَآئَكَ اِنَّكَ ذُوْ نِقْمَةٍ مِّنَ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ سُنَّتَكَ ضَآئِعَةٌ وَ اَحْكَامَكَ مُعَطَّلَةٌ وَ عِتْرَةَ نَبِيِّكَ فِى الْاَرْضِ هَآئِمَةٌ اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاَعِنِ الْحَقَّ وَ اَهْلَهٗ وَ اَقْمَعِ الْبَاطِلَ وَ اَهْلَهٗ وَ مُنَّ عَلَيْنَا بِالنَّجَاةِ وَاهْدِنَا اِلَى الْاِيْمَانِ وَ عَجِّلْ فَرَجَنَا وَانْظِمْهُ بِفَرَجِ اَوْلِيَآئِكَ وَاجْعَلْهُمْ لَنَاوُدًّا وَاجْعَلْنَا لَهُمْ وَفْدًا اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ اَهْلِكْ مَنْ جَعَلَ يَوْمَ قَتْلِ ابْنِ نَبِيِّكَ وَ خِيَرَتِكَ عِيْدًا وَاسْتَهَلَّ بِهٖ فَرَجًا وَ مَرَحًا وَخُذْ اٰخِرَهُمْ كَمَا اَخَذْتَ اَوَّلَهُمْ وَ ضَاعِفِ اللّٰهُمَّ الْعَذَابَ وَ التَّنْكِيْلَ عَلٰى ظَالِمِىْ اَهْلِ بَيْتِ نَبِيِّكَ وَ اَهْلَكْ اَشْيَاعَهُمْ وَ قَادَتَهُمْ وَ اَبْرِحُمَاتَهُمْ وَ جَمَاعَتَهُمْ اَللّٰهُمَّ وَضَاعِفْ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ بَرَكَاتِكَ عَلٰى عِتْرَةِ نَبِيِّكَ الْعِتْرَةِ الضَّائِعَةِ الْخَآئِفَةِ الْمُسْتَذَلَّةِ بَقِيَّةٍ مِّنَ الشَّجَرَةِ الطَّيِّبَةِ الزَّاكِيَةِ الْمُبَارَكَةِ وَ اَعْلِ اَللّٰهُمَّ كَلِمَتَهُمْ وَ اَفْلِجْ حُجَّتَهُمْ وَاكْشِفِ الْبَلَآءَ وَ اللَّاوَآءَ وَحَنَادِسَ الْاَبَاطِيْلِ وَ الْعَمٰى عَنْهُمْ وَ ثَبِّتْ قُلُوْبَ شِيْعَتِهِمْ وَ حِزْبِكَ عَلٰى طَاعَتِكَ وَ وِلاَيَتِهِمْ وَ نُصْرَتِهِمْ وَ مُوَالاَتِهِمْ وَ اَعِنْهُمْ وَامْنَحْهُمُ الصَّبْرَ عَلَى الْاَذٰى فِيْكَ وَاجْعَلْهُمْ اَيَّامًا مَّشْهُوْدَةً وَ اَوْقَاتًا مَّحْمُوْدَةً مَّسْعُوْدَةً تُوْشِكُ فِيْهَا فَرَجَهُمْ وَ تُوْجِبُ فِيْهَا تَمْكِيْنَهُمْ وَ نَصْرَهُمْ كَمَا ضَمِنْتَ لِاَوْلِيٰآئِكَ فِىْ كِتَابِكَ الْمُنْزَلِ فَاِنَّكَ قُلْتَ وَ قَوْلُكَ الْحَقُّ وَعَدَ اللهُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مِنْكُمْ وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِى الْاَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَ لَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِيْنَهُمُ الَّذِى ارْتَضٰى لَهُمْ وَ لَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمْ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ اَمْنًا يَّعْبُدُوْنَنِىْ لاَ يُشْرِكُوْنَ بِىْ شَيْئًا. اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاكْشِفْ غُمَّتَهُمْ يَا مَنْ لاَّ يَمْلِكُ كَشْفَ الضُّرِّ اِلاَّ هُوَ يَا وَاحِدُ يَا اَحَدُ يَا حَىُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ وَاَنَا يَا اِلٰهِىْ عَبْدُكَ الْخَآئِفُ مِنْكَ وَالرَّاجِعُ اِلَيْكَ السَّآئِلُ لَكَ الْمُقْبِلُ عَلَيْكَ اللَّاجِئُ اِلٰى فِنَآئِكَ الْعَالِمُ بِاَنَّهٗ لاَ مَلْجَأَ مِنْكَ اِلاَّ اِلَيْكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ فَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآئِىْ وَاسْمَعْ يَا اِلٰهِىْ عَلاَنِيَتِىْ وَ نَجْوَاىَ وَاجْعَلْنِىْ مِمَّنْ رَضِيْتَ عَمَلَهٗ وَقَبِلْتَ نُسُكَهٗ وَ نَجَّيْتَهٗ بِرَحْمَتِكَ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْكَرِيْمُ اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ صَلِّ اَوَّلاً وَ اٰخِرًا عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ بَارِكْ عَلىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَارْحَمْ مُحَمَّدًا وَّ اٰلَ مُحَمَّدٍ بِاَكْمَلِ وَ اَفْضَلِ مَا صَلَّيْتَ وَ بَارَكْتَ وَ تَرَحَّمْتَ عَلٰى اَنْبِيَآئِكَ وَ رُسُلِكَ وَ مَلَآئِكَتِكَ وَ حَمَلَةِ عَرْشِكَ بِلَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّآ اَنْتَ اَللّٰهُمَّ لاَ تُفَرِّقْ بَيْنِىْ وَ بَيْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاجْعَلْنِىْ يَا مَوْلاَىَ مِنْ شِيْعَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلِىٍّ وَّ فَاطِمَةَ وَ الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ ذُرِّيَّتِهِمِ الطَّاهِرَةِ الْمُنْتَجَبَةِ وَهَبْ لِىَ التَّمَسُّكَ بِحَبْلِهِمْ وَ الرِّضَا بِسَبِيْلِهِمْ وَ الْاَخْذَ بِطَرِيْقَتِهِمْ اِنَّكَ جَوَادٌ كَرِيْمٌ.

ALLAAHUMMA A’ZZEBIL FAJARATAL LAZEENA SHAAQQOO RASOOLAKA WA HAARABOO AWLEYAAA-AKA WA A’BADOO GHAYRAKA WAS-TAHALLOO MAHAARAMAKA WAL-A’NIL QAADATA WAL-ATBAA-A’ WA MAN KAANA MINHUM FA-KHABBA WA AWZA-A’ MA-A’HUM AW-RAZEYA BE-FE’LEHIM LA’NAN KASEERAN ALLAAHUMMA WA A’JJIL FARAJA AALE MOHAMMADIN WAJ-A’L SALAAWAATEKA A’LAYHE WA A’LAYHIM WAS-TANQIZHUM MIN AYDIL MONAAFEQEENAL MOZILLEENA WAL-KAFARATIL JAAHEDEENA WAF-TAH LAHUM FATHAYN YASEERAN WA ATEH LAHUM RAWHAN WA FARAJAN QAREEBAN WAJ-A’L LAHUM MIL-LADUNKA A’LAA A’DUWWEKA WA A’DUWWEHIM SULTAANAN NASEERAA. ALLAAHUMMA INNA KASEERAM MENAL UMMATE NAASEBATIL MUSTAHFEZEENA MENAL A-IMMATE WA KAFARAT BIL-KALEMATE WA A'KAFAT A'LAL QAADATIZ ZALAMATE WA HAJARATIL KETAABA WAS-SUNNATA WA A'DALAT A'NIL HABLAYNIL LAZAYNE AMARTA BE-TAA-A'TEHEMAA WAT-TAMASSOKE BEHEMAA FA-AMAATATIL HAQQA WA HAADAT A'NIL QASDE WA MALA-ATIL AHZAABA WA HARRATATIL KETAABA WA KAFARAT BILHAQQE LAMMAA JAA-AHAA WA TAMASSAKAT BILBAATELE LAMMAA A'TARAZAHAA WA ZAYYA-A'T HAQQAKA WA AZALLAT KHALQAKA WA QATALAT AWLAADA NABIYYEKA WA KHEYARATA E'BAADEKA WA HAMALATA I'LMEKA WA WARASATA HIKMATEKA WA WAHYEKA ALLAAHUMMA FAZALZIL AQDAAMA A-A'DAAA-EKA WA A-A'DAAA-E RASOOLEKA WA AHLE BAYTE RASOOLEKA ALLAAHUMMA WA AKHRIB DEYAARAHUM WAFLUL SELAAHAHUM WA KHAALIF BAYNA KALEMATEHIM WA FUTTA FEE A-A'ZAADEHIM WA AWHIN KAYDAHUM WAZ-RIBHUM BESAYFEKAL QAATE-E' WARMEHIM BEHAJAREKAD DAAMEGHE WA TUMMAHUM BILBALAAA-E TAMMAN WA QUMMAHUM BIL-A'ZAABE QAMMAN WA A'ZZIBHUM A'ZAABAN NUKRAN WA KHUZHUM BIS-SENEENA WAL MOSALAATIL LATEE AHLAKTA BEHAA A-A'DAAA-AKA INNAKA ZOO NIKMATIM MENAL MUJREMEENA ALLAAHUMMA INNA SUNNATAKA ZAAA-E-A'TUN WA AHKAAMAKA MO-A'TTALAHUN WA I'TRATA NABIYYEKA FIL ARZE HAAA-EMATUN ALLAAHUMMA TA-A-I'NIL HAQQA WA AHLAHU WA AQMAI'L BAATELA WA AHLAHU WA MUNNA A'LAYNAA BIN-NAJAATE WAHDENAA ELAL EEMAANE WA A'JJIL FARAJANAA WAN-ZIMHO BEFARAJE AWLEYAAA-EKA WAJ-A'LHUM LANAA WUDDAN WAJ-A'LNAA LAHUM WAFDAN ALLAAHUMMA WA AHLIK MAN JA-A'LA YAWMA QATLIBNE NABIYYEKA WA KHEYARATEKA E'EDAN WASTAHALA BEHI FARAJAN WA MARAHAN WA KHUZ AAKEHRAHUM KAMAA A-KHAZTA AWWALAHUM WA ZAA-E'FIL LAAHUMMAL A'ZAABA WAT-TANKEELA A'LAA ZAALEMEE AHLE BAYTE NABIYYEKA WA AHLAK ASHYAA-A'HUM WA QAADATAHUM WA ABRE HOMAATAHUM WA JAMAA-A'TAHUM ALLAAHUMMA WA ZAA-I'F SALAWAATEKA WA RAHMATEKA WA BARAKAATEKA A'LAA I'TRATE NABIYYEKAL I'TRATIZ ZAA-E-A'TIL KHAAA-EFATIL MUSTAZILLATE BAQIYYATIM MENASH SHAJARATIT TAYYEBATIZ ZAAKEYATIL MOBAARAKATE WA A-A'LIL LAAHUMMA KALEMATAHUM WA AFLIJ HUJJATAHUM WAK-SHEFIL BALAAA-A WAL-LAAWAA-A WA HANAADESAL ABAATEELE WAL-A'MAA A'NHUM WA SABBIT QOLOOBA SHEE-A'TEHIM WA HIZBEKA A'LAA TAA-A'TEKA WA WELAAYATEHIM WA NUSRATEHIM WA MOWAALAATEHIM WA A-I'NHUM WAM-NAH-HOMUS SABRA A'LAL AZAA FEEKA WAJ-A'LHUM AYYAAMAM MASH-HOODATAN WA AWQAATAM MAHMOODATAM MAS-O'ODATAM TOOSHEKO FEEHAA FARAJAHUM WA TOOJEBO FEEHAA TAMKEENAHUM WA NASRAHUM KAMAA ZAMINTA LE-AWLEYAAA-EKA FEE KETAABEKAL MUNZALE FA-INNAKA QULTA WA QAWLOKAL HAQQO WA-A'DAL LAAHUL LAZEENA AAMANOO MINKUM WA A'MELUS SAALEHAATE LAYASTAKHLEFANNAHUM FIL ARZE KAMAS TAKHLAFAL LAZEENA MIN QABLEHIM WA LAYOMAKKENANNA LAHUM DEENAHOMUL LAZEER TAZAA LAHUM WA LAYOBADDELANNAHUM MIM BA'DE KHAWFEHIM AMNAYN YA'BODOONANEE LAA YUSHREKOONA BEE SHAY-AN. ALLAAHUMMA FAKSHIF GHUMMATAHUM YAA MAL LAA YAMLEKO KASHFIZ ZURRE ILLAA HOWA YAA WAAHEDO YAA AHADO YAA HAYYO YAA QAYYOOMO WA ANAA YAA ELAAHI A'BDOKAL KHAAA-EFO MINKA WAR-RAAJE-O' ELAYKAS SAAA-ELO LAKAL MUQBELO A'LAYKAL LAAJE-O ELAA FENAAA-EKAL A'ALEMO BE-ANNAHU LAA MAL-JA-A MINKA ILLAA ELAYKA ALLAAHUMMA FATAQABBAL DO-A'AA-EE WAS-MA' YAA ELAAHEE A'LAANEYATEE WA NAJWAAYA WAJ-A'LNEE MIMMAN RAZEETA A'MALAHU WA QABILTA NOSOKAHU WA NAJJAYTAHU BE-RAHMATEKA INNAKA ANTAL A'ZEEZUL KAREEMO ALLAAHUMMA WA SALLE AWWALAN WA AAKHERAN A'LAA MOHAMMADIWN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN WA BAARIK A'LAA MOHAMMADIWN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN WAR-HAM MOHAMMADAWN WA AALA MOHAMMADIN BE-AKMALE WA AFZALE MAA SALLAYTA WA BAARAKTA WA TARAHHAMTA A'LAA AMBEYAAA-EKA WA ROSOLEKA WA MALAAA-EKATEKA WA HAMALATE A'RSHEKA BE-LAA ELAAHA ILLAA ANTA ALLAAHUMMA LAA TOFARRIQ BAYNEE WA BAYNA MOHAMMADIWN WAA AALE MOHAMMADIN SALAWAATOKA A'LAYHE WA A'LAYHIM WAJ-A'LNEE YAA MAWLAAYA MIN SHEE-A'TE MOHAMMADIWN WA A'LIYYIWN WA FAATEMATA WAL-HASANE WAL-HUSAINE WA ZURRIYYATEHEMAT TAAHERATIL MUNTAJABATE WA HAB LEYAT TAMASSOKA BEHABLEHIM WAR-REZAA BE-SABEELEHIM WAL-AKHZA BETAREEQATEHIM INNAKA JAWAADUN KAREEMUN.

O Allah, punish the wicked who opposed Your Messenger, fought Your close friends, worshipped other than You, and violated Your prohibitions. Curse the leaders and the followers, and whoever among them joined them, actively participated with them, or was pleased with their deeds—a manifold cursing. O Allah, hasten the relief (Faraj) of the family of Muhammad; send Your blessings upon him and upon them, and rescue them from the hands of the misguiding hypocrites and the ungrateful deniers. Open for them an easy victory, provide them with comfort and a near relief, and grant them from Yourself a supportive authority against Your enemy and their enemy. O Allah, indeed a great part of the nation harbored enmity toward the divinely protected Imams, disbelieved in the Word, devoted themselves to the tyrannical leaders, abandoned the Book and the Sunnah, and turned away from the two weighty things (al-Thaqalayn) whose obedience and adherence You commanded. Thus, they suppressed the truth, deviated from the right path, aided the factions, distorted the Book, and disbelieved in the truth when it came to them. They held fast to falsehood when it confronted them, wasted Your right, led Your creation astray, and killed the children of Your Prophet, the elite of Your servants, the bearers of Your knowledge, and the inheritors of Your wisdom and Your revelation. O Allah, make the feet of Your enemies, the enemies of Your Messenger, and the enemies of the Household of Your Messenger tremble. O Allah, destroy their homelands, shatter their weapons, cause divergence in their words, break their strength, weaken their plots, strike them with Your decisive sword, pelt them with Your crushing stone, overwhelm them completely with affliction, suppress them thoroughly with punishment, and chastise them with an unprecedented chastisement. O Allah, seize them with years of hardship and exemplary punishments like those with which You destroyed Your enemies; indeed, You take vengeance upon the criminals. O Allah, indeed Your Sunnah is discarded, Your laws are suspended, and the progeny of Your Prophet are wandering aimlessly in the land. O Allah, assist the truth and its people, suppress falsehood and its people, favor us with salvation, guide us to faith, hasten our relief, and unite it with the relief of Your close friends. Instill love for us in their hearts, and make us an arriving delegation to them. O Allah, destroy whoever made the day of the killing of Your Prophet’s son and Your elite choice an Eid, welcoming it with joy and celebration. Seize the last of them just as You seized the first of them. O Allah, double the punishment and exemplary torment upon the oppressors of the Household of Your Prophet, and destroy their factions, their leaders, their defenders, and their entire group. O Allah, double Your blessings, Your mercy, and Your bounties upon the progeny of Your Prophet—the discarded, fearful, and abased progeny, the remnants of the pure, immaculate, and blessed tree. O Allah, elevate their word, make their proof triumphant, and remove from them the affliction, the adversity, the darkness of falsehoods, and the blindness. Firmly establish the hearts of their Shia and Your party upon obedience to You, their guardianship (Wilayah), their victory, and their allegiance. Assist them, grant them patience over injury sustained for Your sake, and make for them witnessed days and praised, auspicious times, in which their relief is near and their empowerment and victory become mandatory, just as You guaranteed for Your close friends in Your revealed Book, for You said—and Your word is the truth: "Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them [in authority] their religion which He has preferred for them and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security, [for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me." O Allah, remove their grief, O He besides Whom none possesses the power to remove distress! O One! O Unique! O Living! O All-Sustaining! And I, O my God, am Your servant who fears You, returns to You, asks of You, turns toward You, and seeks refuge in Your courtyard, knowing well that there is no refuge from You except in You. O Allah, accept my supplication, and hear, O my God, my open prayers and my secret invocations. Make me among those whose deeds You are pleased with, whose rituals You have accepted, and whom You have saved through Your mercy; indeed, You are the Almighty, the Generous. O Allah, send blessings first and last upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad; bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and have mercy on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, with the most complete and excellent blessings, benedictions, and mercy You have ever bestowed upon Your Prophets, Your Messengers, Your angels, and the bearers of Your Throne—by virtue of 'there is no god but You'. O Allah, do not cause separation between me and Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, Your blessings be upon him and upon them. Make me, O my Master, among the Shia of Muhammad, Ali, Fatima, al-Hasan, al-Husayn, and their pure, chosen progeny. Grant me adherence to their rope, satisfaction with their path, and adoption of their way; indeed, You are All-Bountiful, Generous.

Now go into prostration (Sajdah), keep either side of your face on the earth, one after the other, and say:

يَا مَنْ يَحْكُمُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يُرِيْدُ اَنْتَ حَكَمْتَ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ مَحْمُوْدًا مَّشْكُوْرًا فَعَجِّلْ يَا مَوْلاَىَ فَرَجَهُمْ وَ فَرَجَنَابِهِمْ فَاِنَّكَ ضَمِنْتَ اِعْزَازَهُمْ بَعْدَ الذِّلَّةِ وَ تَكْثِيْرَهُمْ بَعْدَ الْقِلَّةِ وَ اِظْهَارَهُمْ بَعْدَ الْخُمُوْلِ يَا اَصْدَقَ الصَّادِقِيْنَ وَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ فَاَسْئَلُكَ يَا اِلٰهِىْ وَ سَيِّدِىْ مُتَضَرِّعًا اِلَيْكَ بِجُوْدِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ بَسْطَ اَمَلِىْ وَ تَجَاوُزَ عَنِّىْ وَ قَبُوْلَ قَلِيْلِ عَمَلِىْ وَ كَثِيْرِهٖ وَ الزِّيَادَةَ فِىْ اَيَّامِىْ وَ تَبْلِيْغِىْ ذٰلِكَ الْمَشْهَدَ وَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَنِىْ مِمَّنْ يُدْعٰى فَيُجِيْبُ اِلٰى طَاعَتِهِمْ وَ مُوَالاَتِهِمْ وَ نَصْرِهِمْ وَ تُرِيَنِىْ ذٰلِكَ قَرِيْبًا سَرِيْعًا فِىْ عَافِيَةٍ اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ.

YAA MAN YAHKOMO MAA YASHAAA-O WA YAF-A’LO MAA YOREEDO ANTA HAKAMTA FALAKAL HAMDO MA MAHMOODAM MASHKOORAN FA-A’JJIL YAA MAWLAAYA FARAJAHUM WA FARAJANAA BEHIM FA-INNAKA ZAMINTA E-A'ZAAZAHUM BA'DAZ ZILLATE WA TAKSEERAHUM BA'DAL QILLATE WA IZHAARAHUM BA'DAL KHOMOOLE YAA ASDAQAS SAADEQEENA WA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA FA-AS-ALOKA YAA ELAAHEE WA SAYYEDEE MOTAZARRE-A'N ELAYKA BEJOODEKA WA KARAMEKA BASTA AMALEE WA TAJAAWOZA A'NNEE WA QABOOLA QALEELE A'MALEE WA KASEEREHI WAZ-ZEYAADATA FEE AYYAAMEE WA TABLEEGHEE ZAALEKAL MASH-HADA WA AN TAJ-A'LANEE MIMMAN YUD-A' FA-YOJEEBO ELAA TAA-A'TEHIM WA MOWAALAATEHIM WA NASREHIM WA TOREYANEE ZAALEKA QAREEBAN SAREE-A'N FEE A'AFEYATIN INNAKA A'LAA KULLE SHAY-IN QADEERUN.

O He Who judges whatever He wills and does whatever He intends! You have judged, so to You belongs all praise, praised and thanked. Therefore, O my Master, hasten their relief (Faraj) and our relief through them; for indeed, You guaranteed their honor after abasement, their multiplication after paucity, and their manifestation after obscurity—O Most Truthful of the truthful, and O Most Merciful of the merciful! So I ask You, O my God and my Master, pleading to You by Your bounty and Your generosity, to expand my hope, to overlook [my shortcomings], to accept the small amount of my deeds as well as the large, to extend my days, and to cause me to reach that witnessed day [of their return]. And [I ask] that You make me among those who are called and thus answer to their obedience, their allegiance, and their victory; and that You show me that day near and swift, in safety and well-being; indeed, You are Powerful over all things.

Raise your head, look towards the sky and say:

اَعُوْذُ بِكَ اَنْ اَكُوْنَ مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ لاَ يَرْجُوْنَ اَيَّامَكَ فَاَعِذْنِىْ يَا اِلٰهِىْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ.

A-O’OZO BEKA AN AKOONA MENAL LAZEENA LAA YARJOONA AYYAAMAKA FA-A-I’ZNEE YAA ELAAHEE BE-RAHMATEKA MIN ZAALEKA.

I seek refuge in You from being among those who do not hope for Your Days; so protect me from that, O my God, through Your mercy.

(8) On the day of Ashura, before sunset, we share sorrow with the Holy Prophet, Ali Al-Murtaza, Fatemah Zahra and Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon them all) and show our love and deep feelings of grief by reciting the following Ziyarat.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ اٰدَمَ صِفْوَةِ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ نُوْحٍ نَبِىِّ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ خَلِيْلِ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُوْسٰى كَلِيْمِ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عِيْسٰى رُوْحِ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِيْبِ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عَلِىٍّ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَلِىِّ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ الْحَسَنِ الشَّهِيْدِ سِبْطِ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَابْنَ الْبَشِيْرِ النَّذِيْرِ وَابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَآءِ سَيِدَةِ نِسَآءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا اَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خِيَرَةَ اللهِ وَابْنَ خِيَرَتِهٖ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ اللهِ وَابْنَ ثَارِهٖ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْوِتْرَ الْمَوْتُوْرُ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْاِمَامُ الْهَادِى الزَّكِىُّ وَ عَلٰى اَرْوَاحٍ حَلَّت بِفِنَآئِكَ وَ اَقَامَتْ فِىْ جِوَارِكَ وَ وَفَدَتْ مَعَ زُوَّارِكَ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ مِنِّىْ مَا بَقِيْتُ وَ بَقِىَ اللَّيْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ فَلَقَدْ عَظُمَتْ بِكَ الرَّزِيَّةُ وَجَلَّ الْمُصَابُ فِى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ فِى الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَفِىْ اَهْلِ السَّمٰوٰتِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ وَ فِى الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَفِىْ اَهْلِ السَّمٰوٰتِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ وَ فِىْ سُكَّانِ الْاَرْضِيْنَ فَاِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَ اِنَّا اِلَيْهِ رٰجِعُوْنَ وَ صَلَوٰتُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهٗ وَ تَحِيَّاتُهٗ عَلَيْكَ وَ عَلٰى اٰبَآئِكَ الطَّيِّبِيْنَ الْمُنْتَجَبِيْنَ وَ عَلٰى ذَرَارِيْهِمُ الْهُدَاةِ الْمَهْدِيِّيْنَ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلاَىَ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ عَلٰى رُوْحِكَ وَ عَلٰى اَرْوَاحِهِمْ وَ عَلٰى تُرْبَتِكَ وَ عَلٰى تُرْبَتِهِمْ اَللّٰهُمَّ لَقِّهِمْ رَحْمَةً وَّ رِضْوَانًا وَّ رَوْحًا وَّ رَيْحَانًا اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلاَىَ يَا اَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ يَابْنَ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ وَابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ وَ يَابْنَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَآءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا شَهِيْدُ يَابْنَ الشَّهِيْدِ يَا اَخَا الشَّهِيْدِ يَا اَبَا الشُّهَدَآءِ اَللّٰهُمَّ بَلِّغْهُ عَنِّىْ فِىْ هٰذِهِ السَّاعَةِ وَ فِىْ هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ وَ فِىْ هٰذَا الْوَقْتِ وَ فِىْ كُلِّ وَقْتٍ تَحِيَّةً كَثِيْرَةً وَّ سَلاَمًا سَلاَمُ اللهِ عَلَيْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهٗ يَا بْنَ سَيِّدِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ وَ عَلَى الْمُسْتَشْهَدِيْنَ مَعَكَ سَلاَمًا مُّتَّصِلاً مَّا تَّصَلَ اللَّيْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ ابْنِ عَلِىِّ نِالشَّهِيْدِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلٰى عَلَىِّ ابْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ الشَّهِيْدِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلٰى عَبَّاسِ ابْنِ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ الشَّهِيْدِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَآءِ مِنْ وُّلْدِ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَآءِ مِنْ وُّلْدِ الْحَسَنِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَآءِ مِنْ وُّلْدِ الْحَسَنِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَآءِ مِنْ وُّلْدِ الْحُسَيْنِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَآءِ مِنْ وُّلْدِ جَعْفَرٍ وَّ عَقِيْلٍ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلٰى كُلِّ مُسْتَشْهِدٍ مَّعَهُمْ مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ بَلِّغْهُمْ عَنِّىْ تَحِيَّةً كَثِيْرَةً وَّ سَلاَمًا اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ اَحْسَنَ اللهُ لَكَ الْعَزَآءَ فِىْ وَلَدِكَ الْحُسَيْنِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا فَاطِمَةُ اَحْسَنَ اللهُ لَكَ الْعَزَآءَ فِىْ وَلَدِكِ الْحُسَيْنِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا اَمِيْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اَحْسَنَ اللهُ لَكَ الْعَزَآءَ فِىْ وَلَدِكَ الْحُسَيْنِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا اَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ نِ الْحَسَنِ اَحْسَنَ اللهُ لَكَ الْعَزَآءَ فِىْ اَخِيْكَ الْحُسَيْنِ يَا مَوْلاَىَ يَا اَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ اَنَا ضَيْفُ اللهِ وَ ضَيْفُكَ وَجَارُ اللهِ وَ جَارُكَ وَ لِكُلِّ ضَيْفٍ وَّ جَارٍ قِرًى وَّ قِرَاىَ فِىْ هٰذَا الْوَقْتِ اَنْ تَسْئَلَ اللهَ سُبْحَانَهٗ وَ تَعَالٰى اَنْ يَّرْزُقَنِىْ فَكَاكَ رَقَبَتِىْ مِنَ النَّارِ اِنَّهٗ سَمِيْعُ الدُّعَآءِ قَرِيْبٌ مُّجِيْبٌ.

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA WAARESA AADAMA SIFWATIL LAAHE. ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA WAARESA NOOHIN NABIYYIL LAAHE. ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA WAARESA IBRAAHEEMA KHALILIL LAAHE. ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA WAARESA MOOSAA KALEEMIL LAAHE. ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA WAARESA E’ESAA ROOHIL LAAHE. ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA WAARESA MOHAMMADIN HABEEBIL LAAHE. ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA WAARESA A’LIYYIN AMEERIL MOA-MENEENA WALIYYIL LAAHE. ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA WAARESAL HASANISH SHAHEEDE SIBTE RASOOLIL LAAHE. ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YABNA RASOOLIL LAAHE ASSALAAO A’LAYKA YABNAL BASHEERIN NAZEERE WABNA SAYYEDIL WASIYYEENA ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YABNA FAATEMATA SAYYEDATE NESAAA-IL A’ALAMEENA ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA ABAA A’BDIL LAAHE ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA KHERATAL LAAHE WABNA KHEYARATEHI ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA SAARAL LAAHE WABNA SAAREHI ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAL WITRUL MAWTOORA ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAL EMAAMUL HAADIZ ZAKIYYO WA A’LAA ARWAAHIN HALLAT BE-FENAAA-EKA WA AQAAMAT FEE JEWAAREKA WA WAFADAT MA-A’ ZUWWAAREKA ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA MINNEE MAA BAQEETO WA BAQEYAL LAYLO WAN NAHAARO FA-LAQAD A’ZOMAT BEKAR RAZIYYATO WA JALLAL MOSAABO FIL MOA-MENEENA WAL MUSLEMEENA WA FEE AHLIS SAMAAWAATE AJMA-E’ENA WA FEE SUKKAANIR ARAZEENA FA-INNAA LILLAAHE WA INNAA ELAYHE RAAJE-O’ONA WA SALAWAATUL LAAHE WA BARAKAATOHU WA TAHIYYAATOHU A’LAYKA WA A’LAA AABAAA-EKAT TAAHEREENAT TAYYEBEENAL MUNTAJABEENA WA A’LAA ZARAAREEHEMUL HODAATIL MAHDIYYEENA ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA MAWLAAYA WA A’LAYHIM WA A’LAA ROOHEKA WA A’LAA ARWAAHEHIM WA A’LAA TURBATEKA WA A’LAA TURBATEHIM ALLAAHUMMA LAQQEHIM RAHMATAN WA RIZWAANAN WA RAWHAN WA RAYHAANAN ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA MAWLAAYA YAA ABAA A’BDIL LAAHE YABNA KHAATAMIN NABIYYEENA WA YABNA SAYYEDIL WASIYYEENA WA YABNA SAYYEDATE NESAAA-IL A’ALAMEENA ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA SHAHHEEDO YABNASH SHAHEEDE YAA AKHASH SHAHEEDE YAA ABASH SHOHA-DAA-E ALLAAHUMMA BALLIGHHO A’NNEE FEE HAAZEHIS SAA-A’TE WA FEE HAAZAL YAWME WA FEE HAAZAL WAQTE WA FEE KULLE WAQTIN TAHIYYATAN KASEERATAN WA SALAAMAN SALAAMUL LAAHE A’LAYKA WA RAHMATUL LAAHE WA BARAKAATOHU YABNA SAYYEDIL A’ALAMEENA WA A’LAL MUSTASH-HADEENA MA-A’KA SALAAMAN MUTTASELAN MAT TASALAL LAYLO WAN-NAHAARO ASSALAAMO A’LAL HUSAYNIBNE A’LIYYENISH SHAHEEDE ASSALAAMO A’LAA A’LIYYIBNIL HUSAYNISH SHAHEED ASSALAAMO A’LAL A’BBAASIBNE AMEERIL MOA-MENEENASH SHAHEEDE ASSALAAMO A’LASH SHOHADAAA-E MIN WULDE AMEERIL MOA-MENEENA ASSALAAMO A’LASH SHO-HADAAA-E MIN WULDIL HASANE ASSALAAMO A’LASH SHOHADAAA-E MIN WULDIL HUSAYNE ASSALAAMO A’LASH SHOHADAAA-E MIN WULDE JA’FARIN WA A’QEELIN ASSALAAMO A’LAA KULLE MUSTASH-HADIN MA-A’HUM MENAL MOA-MENEENA ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALE MOHAMMADIN WA BALLIGH-HUM A’NNEE TAHIYYATAN KASEERATAN WA SALAAMAN ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA RASOOLIL LAAHE AHSANAL LAAHO LAKAL A’ZAAA-A FEE WALADEKAL HUSAYNE ASSALAAMO A’LAYKE YAA FAATEMATO AHSANAL LAAHO LAKIL A’ZAAA-A FEE WALADEKIL HUSAYNE ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA AMEERAL MOA-MENEENA AHSANAL LAAHO LAKAL A’ZAAA-A FEE WALADEKAL HUSAYNE ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA ABAA MOHAMMADENIL HASANA AHSANAL LAAHO LAKAL A’ZAAA-A FEE AKHEEKAL HUSAYNE YAA MAWLAAYA YAA ABAA A’BDIL LAAHE ANAA ZAYFUL LAAHE WA ZAYFOKA WA JAARUL LAAHE WA JAAROKA WA LEKULLE ZAYFIN WA JAARIN QERAN WA QERAA-YA FEE HAAZAL WAQTE AN AN TS-ALAL LAAHA SUBHAANAHU WA TA-A’ALAA AN YARZOQANEE FAKAAKA RAQABATEE MENAN NAARE INNAHU SAMEE-U’D DO-A’AAA-E QAREEBUM MOJEEBUN.

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam, the elite choice of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Noah, the Prophet of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Abraham, the intimate friend of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Moses, the one who spoke to Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Jesus, the spirit of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad, the beloved of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Ali, the Commander of the Faithful and the close friend (Wali) of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of al-Hasan, the martyr, the grandson of the Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you, O son of the bearer of glad tidings and warner, and the son of the master of executors. Peace be upon you, O son of Fatima al-Zahra, the leader of the women of the worlds. Peace be upon you, O Aba Abdillah. Peace be upon you, O elite choice of Allah and the son of His elite choice. Peace be upon you, O vengeance of Allah and the son of His vengeance. Peace be upon you, O unique one who was wronged, whose family was slain. Peace be upon you, O guiding and pure Imam, and upon the souls that alighted in your courtyard, stayed in your vicinity, and arrived with your visitors. Peace be upon you from me for as long as I endure and as long as the night and the day remain. Indeed, the calamity through you has become grand, and the grief is momentous among the believers, among the Muslims, among the inhabitants of the heavens entirely, and among the dwellers of the earths. Therefore, indeed we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return. May the blessings of Allah, His bounties, and His greetings be upon you and upon your pure, chosen forefathers, and upon their offspring—the guides, the rightly-guided. Peace be upon you, O my master, and upon them; and upon your soul and upon their souls; and upon your soil and upon their soil. O Allah, grant them mercy, pleasure, comfort, and ease. Peace be upon you, O my master, O Aba Abdillah, O son of the Seal of the Prophets, son of the master of executors, and son of the leader of the women of the worlds. Peace be upon you, O martyr, son of the martyr, brother of the martyr, and father of the martyrs. O Allah, convey to him from me at this hour, on this day, at this moment, and at every moment, abundant greetings and peace. May the peace of Allah, His mercy, and His blessings be upon you, O son of the master of the worlds, and upon those who achieved martyrdom with you—a continuous peace for as long as the night and day are joined. Peace be upon al-Husayn, the son of Ali, the martyr. Peace be upon Ali, the son of al-Husayn, the martyr. Peace be upon Abbas, the son of the Commander of the Faithful, the martyr. Peace be upon the martyrs from the children of the Commander of the Faithful. Peace be upon the martyrs from the children of al-Hasan. Peace be upon the martyrs from the children of al-Husayn. Peace be upon the martyrs from the children of Ja'far and Aqil. Peace be upon every martyr who died with them from among the believers. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and convey to them from me abundant greetings and peace. Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah; may Allah make excellent your consolation over your son al-Husayn. Peace be upon you, O Fatima; may Allah make excellent your consolation over your son al-Husayn. Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful; may Allah make excellent your consolation over your son al-Husayn. Peace be upon you, O Aba Muhammad al-Hasan; may Allah make excellent your consolation over your brother al-Husayn. O my master, O Aba Abdillah, I am the guest of Allah and your guest, and the neighbor of Allah and your neighbor. For every guest and neighbor there is hospitality; and my hospitality at this moment is that you ask Allah, Glory be to Him and the Exalted, to grant me the release of my neck from the Fire. Indeed, He is the Hearer of prayers, Near, and Responding.
